    I would love to see how you fabricated and welded the mount on . Good video . I built one with this bike and I think they have some swagger as they look cool . I always re-grease the hubs crank and headset as I don't trust box store bikes for this . I also added side pull calipers as I don't think the coaster breaks are safe . I reinforce the fenders so they won't cause an accident down the road .

      Thanks for watching..😎 For the engine mount I use mild steel & replicate the engine plate that comes with the kit ( I don't have a lot of faith in the china steel) I started doing that years ago after I noticed people were having to tighten that front u - bolt from time to time ( they seem to stretch after a few tightens). Also I prefer my carbs to sit flat or at least flat as possible because they are carbs with a float & they like to be level.. You can Tig or Mig weld it to the bike depending on your welding capabilities. I also agree that you can't trust the store to lube things properly so I just order them un assembled & build them from the ground up so I know it's done properly & gives the customer the best longevity possible..

    After watching this video I think I will need to purchase a hub mount sprocket as my chain is hitting the side of the rear tire, with the hub mount sprocket will It still have clearance issues with the coaster brake arm? Thank you

      @EcoTransGaspoweredBikes  Рік тому

      A Hub mount will definitely help you with these issues. It give you more control over adjustments from left to right for chain clearance & gives you a straighter turning sprocket , so you won't have chain issues in the future.. 🚴‍♂🚴‍♂

    Hey how did you get the bearings tight mine has the clamp on but the bearings won’t get tight. I think it’s because the sporket goes on before the coster brake any suggestions?

      I'm not sure what exactly what your saying..?? The sprocket does go on before the coaster brake arm.. From what I can guess is that maybe the inner parts of the hub have not been installed correctly & you may need to have a bike shop re-install those parts for you..

    Hello, first thing thank you for all great videos! I'm building my first motorized bicycle using a triple 40 Zeda 80, I'm still looking for a bicycle to install it on? My question/ do you recommend a rear sprocket adapter kit and where to purchase ? I don't like the idea of the Rag Joint system. Thank you

    • @EcoTransGaspoweredBikes
      @EcoTransGaspoweredBikes  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for checking out the page & I hope one of these videos helps you get your bike up & rolling..👍 Now I do recommend a Alum. sprocket adapter, ( not trying to be a salesman I just offer parts that I know from experience will 100% work on a persons build.) Having said that..The adapter I use I have to buy in bulk & they don't have a brand name, they are the best adapter I've found through the years, they don't slip on the hubs & damage spokes & they can be used with your stock sprocket ( no need to buy a more expensive alum. sprocket) 👍 If you check out the video on my page Standard rag joint vs CNC Hub mount you can see how well it works & compare it to others you my have already seen.. Even if you don't get one of these, before you buy one you'll need to decide what type of wheel your going to put it on..Free wheel or coaster brake because the size of the hub matters when buying one from any where...just a friendly tip.. Good luck with your build..🚴‍♂️ Feel free to check out my web site to take a look at those hub mounts...ecotransgaspoweredbicycles.com/

    I thought if you had an upgraded front engine mount you wouldn't need a chain tensioner. What is the secret to adjusting the chain tensioner?

    • @EcoTransGaspoweredBikes
      @EcoTransGaspoweredBikes  4 місяці тому

      The engine mount just allows you to mount the engine to the bigger frame tube. I'm not sure what you're asking about the chain tensioner, but usually the first step is to shorten the chain to the proper length you need (Usually they give you more length than you need so you have to remove a few links) after you shorten the chain then you can install the tensioner. If you don't shorten the chain, no matter where you place the tensioner the chain will have way too much slack

      Different wheels have different spoke sizes. That's not something that one size fits all. Me personally, I take them to the bike shop & let them handle it while I'm working on the bike itself, that way the whole job is done correctly the first time & everybody wins.

    Quick question do you have to use that coaster brake, or do you have to change the inside of the rim, to neglect that part

    • @EcoTransGaspoweredBikes
      @EcoTransGaspoweredBikes  3 роки тому

      I think I know what your asking... If your rear wheel hub & coaster brakes are fine but you are going to change over to let's say disc brakes & you just don't want the rear brakes to be used in the rear wheel, I would say just remove the brake arm from the wheel, with out that they can't work.🤷‍♀️ Now if your rear wheel hub has damage inside of it & you just want to remove the brake parts from inside the hub of the wheel I don't think I would do that, I wouldn't have any faith in that wheel for riding.

      I use an acetylene torch & heat up the pipe and give it a slight bend to clear the crank arm, afterwards I sand & repaint the pipe with ceramic engine heat paint. Whatever method you choose to use don't try to bend it while it's attached to the engine, it will break the cylinder & ruin your engine. 🚴‍♂🚴‍♂

    I have the same bike but made some changes.
    First & most important is the handlebars, they are light flimsy aluminium, on this bike with a motor on it going 30 mph these handlebars feel like you are holding on to a wet noodle, very unsafe !!!
    I bought some steel bicycle handlebars from Amazon, put those on & the difference in stability was incredible. Those original bars are Garbage !!!
    The second thing I did was put a long exhaust on it. It runs at about half the loudness as the original exhaust with the added benefit of not having to worry about bumping the muffler on anything.
    Take a look at mine you'll see what I mean.
    I also have a hub on the back, it slipped & tore up my wheel. Before putting on the new wheel I I cut a groove in the inside of the hub then put a few welds on the wheel hub that fit into the cut that I made in the gear hub. the result is the same as a key locking it in place it is impossible for it to slip now.

      Thanks for sharing your story about your bike & I'm glad you got your personal issues with your bike taken care of & improved. Speaking of only my experiences with this particular bicycle, they have all been great reviews,no complaints, people actually all comment on how comfortable it is to ride.However I must say it all depends on what a persons doing with the bike & what they expect it to do for them. Here we only build 49cc bikes(I have nothing against the bigger engines)because our law states that it has to be a 49cc & not go over 21 mph & beings we mostly cater to people who don't have a DL I keep the build with in the limits so people don't have any legal issues while using them, they usually already have enough problems, & let's be sensible about it too, bicycles were never designed to go 30+mph. After reading your story about your bike & issues, I can relate to buying different styles & prices of rear hubs & they aren't all the same, some of the cheaper ones weren't machined very accurate & didn't tighten down properly,so we would have to put it in the lathe & turn it down a bit so it would squeeze down & grip like it's supposed too, your fix was a good idea also. When we build them we have to keep it as simple to repair as possible because most people don't have access to a welder or a lathe after taking it home. Just to share a final thought ; for the people that do have the big motors & fast bikes we have in the past drilled & taped the hub for a hex head set screw as an extra insurance policy against slipping... Thanks for sharing your story about your bike because sometime our little problem help others not have the same little problems... I hope you have a good day & get time to get out & ride your bike and enjoy riding it..!!

      There are a couple things you can do; 1st If your using the standard rag joint that comes in your kit sometimes you can remove & flip over your sprocket IF you have the beveled sprocket ( sometimes they send you a flat sprocket). You can check out my DIY series that has to do with the rear sprocket.( It might help in your case) 2nd If your using a rear hub mount they give you a bit of side to side adjustment & you still might have to remove the sprocket & flip it over to get the clearance you need.. 3rd Some times if all else fails you may be able to loosen the drive sprocket side of the wheel & angel the wheel just a bit toward the pedal chain side & that might give you just enough clearance.. Naturally you want your wheel as straight as possible but a little angel to the right side of the bike shouldn't hurt a thing..I hope this helps you get going..If you need a bit more help we can video chat & perhaps I can help walk you through fixing your problem..
