I loved how the film switched between the two timelines. It worked really well by having the past represented by warm color tones and the future with cold color tones. Even tho it's the same people and house, it's quite distinct to separate between the two while not being super jarring between the jumping back and forth. So that aspect of the film I loved.
Saoirse and Florence deserves as Greta and the movie a nomination on Oscar. I mean no way to Renee and Scarlet for me Just the monologue about women, Saoirse does with such a realistic mode deserves an Oscar
I never read the book, never saw the other adaptations and for some reason I can already tell that this is the best adaptation, I LOVED IT. Greta is BRILLIANT, Saoirse is perfect as Jo, Thimothée wasn’t miscast, Meryl was Meryl, and Florence STOLE THE MOVIE. It definitely deserves more award noms, specially Oscars nominations. 10/10
Hi guys! Eliza scanlon aka Beth is actually the third youngest. Florence Pugh was playing the youngest March sister , amy. Just noticed the error. Love your reviews. :)
When people are like “Laura Dern should totally win Best Supporting Actress this year for her performance in Marriage Story”... meanwhile I’m over here saying that she’s better in Little Women than she is in Marriage Story. But she isn’t even the best supporting female performance in the film... so...
Emma Stone was supposed to play Meg in the first place, but she had to cancel to do awards press for The Favourite. She is definitely a better actress, but her star power probably would've overshadowed the other sisters, so Emma Watson is better at staying in the background. But I also would've preferred an unknown actress in the role! I'm really glad you both liked the movie as well as I did! Since it is a massive box office hit and loved by everyone I still hope it could surprise with a Best Original Screenplay win for Greta! (Maybe as an excuse if they don’t nominate her in the director category)
That opinion of yours was bullcrap, you goddamned mongrel. Emma Watson is pitched-perfect for the role of Meg March and it suits her. Like, get the hell over it, you ungrateful son of a bitch.
To be frankly honest, Emma Stone is better off not playing the role of Meg March, no matter how massively talented she is. To have Emma Stone in this movie would be massively distracting and she'll end being wasted. It's all for the best. Besides, Emma Stone had already committed to other roles, such as her role as Cruella De Vil in a Cruella spinoff film.
I felt the same way as Justin. I loved my viewing experience for how warm and full of love it was but something about it didn't click for me the way that I wanted it too. Although I don't get how you didn't get sniffly, I was in tears.
The movie deeply resonated with me. It was very timely for the era in which we live, reframing the story and making a period piece relevant to today. I've watched a few reviews and from what I can tell this is clearly a film for women or those who are disenfranchised. Still I appreciate the honest and open minded review.
I thought this movie was terrific. I had no clue Bob Odenkirk was in this movie and that took me out of it for a second but overall it’s a really great story and an interesting way of telling the story.
Lauren King oh shit you’re right. That’s weird I didn’t get that sense at all from the film. But I knew nothing about the story before I watched the movie lol
Saoirse Ronan on Timothée Chalamet: "He's like the next Daniel Day-Lewis!" I like Timmy, but to quote Bill Hader: "You're like the Daniel Day-Lewis of only doing one thing."
I gave it a 9. Just because I wasn’t as engaged in Emma Watson’s storytelling but not because of her performance. Just because her character wasn’t as interesting to me as Jo, Laurie and Amy
Zach Ruggiero yeah I understand that. However in comparison to most previous adaptations this is the most she gets. Even in the book she doesn’t get a lot compared to jo and Amy, the same goes for Beth
Emma Watson's performance in Little Women was also good. These dumb motherf**kers clearly had some s**t hatred against her. This is no longer hatred on her. It's lynching.
Hell yeah. The fact that they've been snobbish on saying that the role of Meg Match "should have been played by an unknown or someone else" and are saying that Emma Watson "didn't fit the role of Meg March", was complete illogical bullcrap. Like, Emma Watson fits the role of Meg March and worked perfectly, like the way that works on her other roles such as Belle in Beauty and the Beast.
😮 Wow, ever heard of SPOILERS! This is the 4th version of this movie, as such most people have seen 1 if not all 4 versions. So she uses Flashbacks... XX
I swear to god if Florence Pugh doesnt get a nomination
You can rest easy now. Florence Pugh already got an Oscar nomination for that movie.

Oscar Expert is a JO
Brother Bro is an AMY
James C. YES
Pugh should win supporting actress and yet she might not even get nominated
She'll be nominated.
Beth isn't the youngest, Amy is. Beth is just the shy one.
I really enjoyed this film. The actresses should be recognized at the academy awards this year, it'll be a huge shame if they're not!

your baking analogies were 10/10
I’ve not seen the other versions but Christian Bale played Chalamet’s character in 94.

Dude, I saw this movie 3 times with in the first week of being out- like that’s how good it is.
In the 1994 version the Chalamet role was played by Christian Bale. Quite a contrast.
my 2nd fav of the year behind Portrait of a Lady On Fire

Jessie Buckely would've been better
@@wattfadad688 She's not on-demand. She's a nobody.

Obsessed fangirl isn’t Beth?
@@ZR38315 no its definitely amy xx
Oh what lol. Scanlen is 3 years younger than Pugh. Weird.
Lauren King oh shit you’re right. That’s weird I didn’t get that sense at all from the film. But I knew nothing about the story before I watched the movie lol
@@TheOscarExpert yeah weird ages of the cast but Amy is definitely the youngest. Loved the movie tho! X

The Cynic of Cinema he does seem to play the same sort of angsty teen in every movie. I’m sure we will see more out of him as his career goes though
cole clearly has more taste because it’s 100% a 10/10, also emma watson was good get over it
Agree she wasn’t perfect but she did the best she could with what she got. Definitely had a very graceful presence on screen in my opinion

What a 10 out of 10, really
If Florence doesn't get a nomination i'm goona kill someone. She is amazing in every role!
1:22 Amy is the youngest lol
This is my new favourite movie and I had no idea what it was prior to being dragged to the theatre by my female relatives
Emma Watson was Perfect!! What are you guys talking about? Her Performance was so so good.
Yes! She was so graceful on screen and really portrays meg well
I think she was good for what she needed to do. It’s just not a role that allows her to do as much as the other characters
Zach Ruggiero Yeah but meh never gets a whole lot and this was actually more than in some other adaptations
Love odenkirk but that pulled me out of the movie
I honestly think Emma Watson was perfect as Meg
I loved Little Women great movie one of my favs of 2019
I feel the same thing about Florence she's very talented but was a little weird with the voice sometimes
The Oscar Expert? More like The Cynic Expert
Hell yeah.

@@charismabros5352 Like, f**k these dumb and ignorant motherf**kers.
F**k them.
I didn’t really like it... but I’m happy you guys did
Nope. Little Women was way better then Lady Bird.
Keep banging your drum.

I'd give it a 8.75/10. Thought it was great, but I agreed with some of Justins points
Hated this adaption nothing beats Margaret Obrien Elizabeth Taylor June Allison Janet Leigh 1945
