I third Supertramp. Long way home. Rudy. Crime of the century. If everyone was listening. Bloody well right. So many amazing songs with great instrumental solos
Can we just talk about how great this cover was and faithful to the original? The musicianship is on spot, especially the pianist . The backup vocalists shine as always. Perfect cover of a Police classic.
Backup singers killing it on this one, nice job! I loved Ken Marino's "Sting" voice on this too, especially on the "big enough umbrella" outro. Jon Spurney - dude was killing it on the piano, really glued that whole song together. David Wain, I admired your bravery to take on a Stewart Copeland track. :)
Middle aged dad here. I have found my MECCA. I find vindication when I expose my 13 yo daughter to a piece of music that is 50 years older than her, and she enjoys it so much she wonders where it came from, and then I gleefully tell her how old it is and then she has this puzzled look on her face. That’s a “WIN”!!!! So much “Police” music serves that purpose,😂
Man, last week I thought I just wanted to hear you do more Billy Joel. Now, I just want to hear more of Ken's Sting. Really though, I will watch any video you put out.
Holy shit, I hope all of you are safe and sound after that flash flood!!! I’m not sure if those loitering musicians outside survived, but praying your garage kept MADJB dry and intact!
It's a credit to Ken Marino's singing that most, if not all, of the comments here are requests for more songs. I actually think that his version was better than Sting's because he has a better voice. Here are my two cents for some requests. One Step Closer by the Doobie Brothers. Black Water also by the Doobie brothers. You certainly have the strains for it. And, if you want a real challenge, Hourglass by Squeeze. That one is so difficult that Daryl Hall and his band couldn't pull it off even with Glen Tillbrooke of Squeeze performing with them. I don't know if you've watched Live From Daryil's house where Daryl Hall has a well known established artist perform two of his songs with him and his band and then does a Hall & Oates song. Those are all top-notch musicians and they had trouble pulling off Hourglass. Their posted version was really rough. And finally, Counting Stars by OneRepublic. I think these suggestions are all high energy songs suited to what you guys are doing. A couple of them also have nice a cappella vocal sections that are really fun. I think what you guys are doing is really terrific. Music for the sheer joy of it.
Elvis Costello next please! Possible songs for your consideration: "What's so funny about peace, love and understanding", "Element Within Her" and "Everyday I Write the Book" (great song for the back-up singers too).
The band is so good they could probably do any of his songs, including "Watching the Detectives" "Pump It Up" or "Accidents Will Happen". "Radio Radio" is probably way too easy for them.
Good afternoon, MADJB!! Let me skip to the end of this video first and say that Pippin was absolutely one of my most favorite shows to do in community theater (way back in 1988 in Douglaston, NY) and I had the good fortune to play King Charlemagne and of course I was in the chorus as well and even just that snippet of “Corner Of The Sky” brought back great memories (hmmm, Charlemagne… unless I missed it in the recent past, maybe some Steely Dan in this band’s future??🤔); second, another bravura performance by this unbelievably amazing group you have; Everything from lead vocals to background vocals to each and every one of the supremely skilled musicians and you all imbue each and every spot-on cover you do with a ton of fun and I love how you all play off each other so well (and I love all the other musicians playing quirky riffs outside the garage and wow, you have some really cool Hollywood-type special effects going on there too!!)🧑🏻🦱🎼🎤🎸🥁🎸🎹🎸🎺🎷🪗
heat of the moment by Asia next, please.
Oh man that would sound all kinds of good!!!
Yes!
YES!
I can't think of that song without hearing Jensen Ackles saying "Rise and shine, Sammy!" in my head.
Hell yeah that would be awesome
Logical Song by Supertramp
I just was thinking Supertramp too!!!
I third Supertramp. Long way home. Rudy. Crime of the century. If everyone was listening. Bloody well right. So many amazing songs with great instrumental solos
YES!!
If they don't do this it means they're AFRAID
Did you read my mind? I was listening to that this morning while truckin and thinking MADJB should do this...Thanks for thinking like me
Sledgehammer or Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel would be awesome!
YEEEEEEEEES!
GIVE US GABRIEL - MARINO KNOWS IT'S IN HIS RANGE!
I second Solsbury Hill. That would be amazing.
Props to David for nailing the Stuart Copland drum part. And props to everyone because this was so great and so fun.
Truth
My first thought when I saw
This. And then Ken just kicking ass on the vocals!
SERIOUSLY!! ❤🎶👏🏻
Jon captured the piano part very well.
@@JamesDavis-sh9gh yup, MVP!
You guys are tighter than 99% of rock bands in existence. Good lord.
Joe Jackson - Is She Really Going Out With Him? (pretty please)
@@jopp3786 one of my favorites and Ken’s voice would be perfect for it
Yes, MAD JB would be perfect for it.
Omg yes please!
Yes!!
Or steppin out
Can we just talk about how great this cover was and faithful to the original? The musicianship is on spot, especially the pianist . The backup vocalists shine as always. Perfect cover of a Police classic.
Thanks! We do find it fun to try to honor the original song
He get the timbre perfect but never resorts to an impression!
Hold On Loosely by 38 Special would be awesome!
Ooh! Good call
38 Special > Lynyrd Skynyrd.
You Better You Bet by The Who would be perfect!

So much “Police” music serves that purpose,😂
That's WHY WE DO THIS
@MADJBAND also it's fun
@@MADJBAND LOVE YOU GUYS!
David Wain and Ken Marino!!!! You guys are ROCK STARS!!!!
Every little song the Middle-Aged Dad Jam Band does is magic, I tell you what.
Owner of a Lonely Heart, please please please! You guys are amazing!
The most impressive thing about this video is Ken not imitating Sting the entire song, even through the bridge and coda.
Everything they cover sounds better than the original!
Any Middle Aged Dad Band needs to have a RUSH song in their catalog 😊
Omg ! Need a Closer to the Heart or Working man cover
Bass player killin it
You know what would be great? ANYTHING you guys play.
That being said, Journey - Don't Stop Believin' would be PERFECT coming from you.
I love you guys. How about doing some Meatloaf? Maybe Bat out of hell or Two out of three aint bad??
I'm blown away that Ken Marino from "The State" the I wanna dip my balls in it is an amazing singer. Love it!
Ken is so lovably goofy and he sings so well! The whole band is fantastic! ❤
Dr. Rutabaga bringing the Stewart Copeland drum fills for real! Daddy like!
I love that someone had the great sense to zoom in on Dave at that ONE FILL Stewart Copeland played, masterful!
As I was watching, I was thinking, “is he going to do the fill?” 😂
The violinist is always vibing in the background.
Great Band! They have fun together and playing very nice songs. Keep on going 👍🏼
Greetings from Germany
Just like Heaven by The Cure would be great
When it's a different mix of a Police song you can hear all the genius Copeland put into drums in those songs.
Your Love - The Outfield!
Every Little Thing You Guys Do is MAGIC!
Wow, you guys are incredible. I would love to see you guys live.
I want more Pippin too! Also, genuinely strange ending, I loved it.
Everything Jessica McKenna does is magic.
That IS Jessie McKenna! I was like I've seen that backup singer somewhere before
Yesss, i was like hey I know her!!
Every time a MADJB song comes out, it makes my day. These people just make me smile.
I'm sooooo glad you didd the "it's a biggest enough umbrella but it's always me that ends up getting wet."
How did I just come across these Amazing Pimp MAD TALENTED Dads in the garage?!! 🎉🎉🎉
Maybe you just were looking at other things until now?
You guys are having way too much fun. Love it.
Every Pippen thing she does is magic.
"I heard Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic and Corner of the Sky played at the same time"

Excellent performance. Really liked the end sequence.

Another great performance. I’m not a fan of Pippin, but I’m still in love with the cello player.
Kestrin is the BESTrin.

Rhythm section killing it again. Props to anyone covering Copeland, and this is one Sting's busier bass lines.
Man, last week I thought I just wanted to hear you do more Billy Joel. Now, I just want to hear more of Ken's Sting. Really though, I will watch any video you put out.
This is one of the best approaches to singing the song that I’ve heard.
Wynonna T-Shirt. Classic! 😆
I DO want more Pippin or showtunes, you're so right.
But in the meantime, another amazing song!
Fwicking awesome!!!! Saw you guys for the first time today, I’m now on hour 2 and can’t stop watching, love it! Don’t ever stop
That was INCREDIBLE. Great CGI ending! lol Excellent.
Can't stop watching these guys!
Ha, hey Spurns! Excellent job as always
Always one of my favorite moments of the week.
This is one of Sting’s best bass lines.
You guys are outstanding! I suggest Jet Airliner, but I know I’ll enjoy whatever you do.
Often like MAD songs better than the originals...... Feel more real and down to Earth.
Holy shit, I hope all of you are safe and sound after that flash flood!!! I’m not sure if those loitering musicians outside survived, but praying your garage kept MADJB dry and intact!
Love this band, this is how you make the power of music radiant heart and soul
Every song you cover is magic.
Allie Stamler brings the emotion in every song

Don't ever change the way you guys have such fun.
Makes me smile!
Really loving the Wynonna Judd T-Shirt! Would love to hear a Chicago cover!
This is my favorite one, I love it
I have to say I'm not a police fan
But you guys knocked that song out of the park
That cellist is making me feel things.
How about some Talking Heads or Oasis??
That is one strange pairing. I'm not mad; just sayin'.
there is no better way to start my day by listening to you all..
You guys need to get yourselves on Spotify, your covers are superb, give your listeners multiple outlets already!!!
Ken’s voice is sooo good!
Fun!!!
I was kick dancing in my chair whilst smoking a cigar!
Throwing this out there... Maybe some Little River Band next?
Excellent performance...I Don't Want to Talk About It, please!!!

Superb version 😮 👌
The ending is pretty surprising 😅
Baba O’Reilly. Give Allie an opportunity to stretch it out with that violin solo at the end!
Straight up rock stars, all of them
Awesome. The hardest part is covering Stuart’s drumming, I think the snare rim echo bit was done with an echoplex. Kudos.
You guys really found your corner of the sky with this one 🌦️
More Dropout crossover! Jess, you're amazing!
Holy crap! SO many great suggestions
You guys have some very musical neighbors...
Not since the WaVe came they don't...
Since we're throwing out suggestions..me and Julio?
