Bassist is the real hero here
it is definitely an iconic bass part, full of 80's goodness!
Sweet Teddy P gets it DONE
for real, dude's just standing there looking like he knows how badass it is, while ripping off this killer bassline. Champion.
The guy on keyboards manually playing what was an automated arpeggiator part on a Jupiter 4 is no slouch either
100%
Who needs a Jupiter-4 arpeggiator when you can play it by hand? Mad respect.
Shout out to Teddy, absolutely nailed the bass line.
Drums, vocals, horns, guitar... perfect. 10/10 😸👍
My thoughts exactly, "no way this is how Duran Duran does it live"
Thanks for all your nice comments! Keep those requests / feedback coming!
Best channel on UA-cam!
Maybe something from Supertramp in the future?
Supertramp and Badfinger for sure.
I'd really enjoy "Ace of Spades" or "I'm So Bad (Baby I Don't Care)" by Motorhead. I see Lemmy when I watch youse guys.
Id kill for a cover of "I still believe" by the call. Yknow, the song that big sweaty sax guy plays in The Lost Boys?
@@genshikashmir or Let the Day Begin. They could tear that one up.
Great re-enactment! Everyone, don't overlook the amazing keyboardist. Nick's original sparkling keyboard patterns were programmed. This keyboardist is playing every nanosecond of a tone note for note! Give him the credit he deserves!
I noticed that too. No arpeggiator here!
Noticed that too!
Haha! First thing I noticed.
We used to have that MIDI controler in our music tech lab at the college. NO WAY he's playing that in real time. That keyboard is stiff!
David Wain just tearing it up on drums and vocals at the same time makes me unreasonably happy.
The look on his face when his son just nailed the sax solo and went right into his singing part was incredible. You can feel hiw proud he was and just hearing him crush the vocals while playing afterward took everything up a level. Singing while drumming is incredibly hard. Like, really really hard. He nailed it.
@@JosephTavano You are all so nice. I've loved / played this song a long time. Another version from pandemic: ua-cam.com/video/V9xIHDsPXBQ/v-deo.htmlsi=mH3o2DFsrk_GWkKn
Would love to hear his vocals on the B-52’s Love Shack. He would rock Fred Schneider’s part.
@@JosephTavanofor sure, it’s definitely harder than singing while playing guitar
youre not kidding he killed it!
Dad thumpin that BASS
Her laugh @2:54 - Perfect!!! 😁
After hearing the bass tearing it up, would love to hear your version of Roundabout
Yes, please!
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat the actual hell, people - save some friggin' talent for the rest of the world, would ya?! THIS SLAPS SO GODDAMN HARD!!! Every single one of you absolutely killed it on this, but I gotta give extra love to Smokin' Sweet Teddy P layin' down those sick grooves and Jon, who nailed those keyboard parts note for note!
The bass player is killing it.
In addition to everyone’s talent, something that makes these enjoyable to watch is that it is clear that they these folks are having a blast covering these songs
Looking forward to some Huey Lewis covers. Heart of Rock and Roll? Power of Love? New Drug? Think Huey songs would play perfectly with your playfulness.
That bass is doing the work!
Sweet Teddy's bass was so hot he had to put that shizz out for a moment
It’s insane that David wane is a world class drummer
Sweet Teddy P.! This group is amazing and brings so much to the table all the way around.
Every time a new vid comes out I treat it the same way that I treat a Lindsy Stirling video... pure love!
Sweet Teddy P holding DOWN the bass line!!
Never was a big Duran Duran fan, but I gotta respect John Taylor. The bassist here does a great job. Kudos!
Nobody is having more fun than this crew.
Always loved the bass line on this track and Teddy P really nails it. This is that good shit.
Lots of people talking about the awesome bass, which is totally deserved, but I remember playing the hell out of this song on pro drums in Rock Band, it's a work out and David Wain killed it! 🤘
Awesome all around, Especially Sweet Teddy P. on that bass! Kestrin's voice was very reminiscent of Debbie Harry from Blondie - Totally Killer!
Best channel I’ve subscribed to. They seem like they are having a great time. Drummer killed it on vocals! Bass player dominated.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet Teddy P and the Teddy P Backup Band!!
Of course David Wain is gonna do Rio lol! How about Saturday in the Park from Chicago??
I grew up with Duran Duran, always loved that the band features the Bass particularly in Rio - John Taylor was/is an under appreciated treasure.
Finally the showcase that Sweet Teddy P deserves! It's so fun watching you all have fun.
I want to shout out all the memorabilia in this garage! I love that David still has the sign for David Wain's Super Fun Amazing Coffee Shop!
80s music is awesome! Everyone rocked but, Bass player worked it hard!
Holy shit, what a great bassist
So cool to see Craig Wedren in these videos. The musicianship level in that room is insane.
helps that he's Tom Lennon's bro in law 😆
@@kahlegregory9447 Somehow I didn't know that despite being a longtime fan of Shudder to Think and The State members' projects!
Since you've cracked Duran Duran, I'd love to hear the best James Bond song: View to a Kill
Amazing! I'd love to hear some Genesis at some point!
Or Phil Collins solo. They would tear up Easy Lover.
Bass player's got ghost notes for days! Nice work
Everyone here is wonderful. And an extra bit of praise for whomever did the sound mixing to actually let us hear every single part coming together in the whole.
As a bass player I need not mention how good the bass player is. It is obvious. Instead I wish to pay compliments to the drummer. The bass player's partner in crime. Wowsers. He sings too, like Levon Helm.
Wow! Don’t know how you folks appeared in my feed, but you made my day. Great song. I love that little pre-chorus part, that little pause before the drums kick in again and you’re off again. Beautifully done.
It's impossible to watch these guys and not smile.
LOL! I love it! Seeing a bunch of band and choir nerds making good!
This is your best cover yet. And that's saying a lot because they are all great. Holy crap Wain is a really good drummer, very impressed. Very impressed with each member of the band. Thanks.
Yeah Sweet Teddy P.!!! 🤟🤟🤟
Wow the band slayed this.
Oh do my Duran Duran favorite...New Religion! 😊
Sounds great. One of the most underrated bass lines ever!
Love the energy in the Garage! Keep the hits coming!
Smashing good cover of a killer song. Props to the bass player as this is an absolute sleerper song when it comes to the bass line. You did right by John Taylor.
I Love how the brass guys get to hang out on the couch and then bam there they are ! these are great !
Now, that's what garages are made for! Nice!
So good! And David and Teddy P really shine here.
This put a smile on my face.
Ruh Roh Raggy. Looks like Lexington Lab Band and Hindley Street Country Club have some competition! Great job!
You guys...and gals...just keep "killin' it". Not going to say you're the best cover band I've ever heard...but, I certainly CAN'T say you aren't. On the "volume ranking knob", from 1-10, we're turning it up to 11. 👍👍
The guiltiest of guilty pleasures!
Well done!!
Musically top notch, but also look like you're having the best time ever!! G'day from sunny south-east Queensland!
You all worked pretty hard on this one, hard to compliment just one the most... but the keyboard, bassist, and drummer were absolutely CRUSHING it. Next level talent but having a blast.
As a guy who just became both a dad and middle-aged, I really love this channel. It gives me hope that I can regain my coolness.
That bass! Hell yeah!
Great job by everyone, as always! The backup singers brought me extra joy today with their blissfully and delightfully awkward dance moves
Bassist Sweet Teddy is KILLIN' it! Love yinz!
That. Was. FANTASTIC!!!!!
The garage set looks very real. Almost like they really are in a garage in Jersey or some other similar sh**ty locale. The band is kicking it though. The add on mates are bringing all they got and I am loving this. 40 years ago Prince is taking down Springsteen. 2 of my fav's. Glad to see yous guys didnt forget about all the rest of the best! Keep rocking out loud !!!
Damn, y'all killed it!
💃
Always love the sax
I'm old! I mean YOUNG! I wanna be there!!!!
Amazing as always! Glad I am not the only one trying to figure out the TARDIS effect in that garage.
That keyboardist. Wow.
“Your name isn’t rio but I don’t care for sand and lighting the fuse might result in a bang-b-b-bang oh”. Perfect bookend to this cover.
I’m absolutely living for these videos lately. Such talented and fun people playing the music they love. Y’all would absolutely kill Brandy by Looking Glass, and with all chops in this band it would be cool to see some 80s hair metal too!
Man, every single one of you smashed it, but those keys and that bass fucking killed it!
Everyone: just chilling and having a good time
David Wain:
Just when i think you guys can't get more awesome...
Dude! The bass and drums🙌🏻 I say goooooddddaaaaamn
Really solid musicians!
I don't have a witty or pithy comment to make here. I usually do. But yall are just too damn good at this and it looks like too much damn fun. As a big fan of 80s pop rock I've been loving that part of your song choices especially.
That said, obligatory request time. I'm gonna request what I personally consider to be the single greatest 80s song. Caribbean Queen.
This is awesome. More!!!
Texted to me this morning apropos of nothing, I must say, my day is already off to a great start! 🤟🏻❤️⚓️
Sweet Teddy nails that bass part! I’ve tried to learn it. It’s not easy!!
I'd go see you all on tour without a single shred of hesitation!
Most Excellent! I really enjoyed what you’ve do here!
Now do, “Save a Prayer”….. 👍🏻🍻😎
Fantastic performance topped with personality!
These guys are having entirely too much fun! 😉
can confirm
Great Job guys and gals! 🥳 Love the bass line in this song.
Another banger! Love it.
This makes me very happy.
Phenomenal as always! But I also have to say good job to whoever is doing the camera work and the editing. Those are fantastic as well.
Love drinking beer and watching you guys. 42/m here btw
Best one yet
The keyboardist has crazy fast fingers!!!! This is an awesome cover (reminds me of when I first saw the video on VH-1
I love watching Live Recordings because you can really learn how the song was put together. For Instance, I never would of thought there were Bongos being played in the background but at 3:30 there they are. Amazingly Fun Cover.
1:40 Bass GOAT
You guys are flippin' amazing. Keep the songs coming and thanks for the great tunes.
That was totally awesome. 😊👍🏻
Damn, Marino kinda nice with that voice
freakin awesome props to the engineer as well
That bass is shreddin
I love that you teased this in the band practice video. Just had to reverse it
Alright that was really cool! Excellente!
Good stuff!
Excellent job!
