I wish I had found out about this sooner. I recently switched to Linux, so I'm still new to it all. I started with Linux Mint as my first distro, and after a few weeks, I tried Arch Linux with Hyprland. However, I had some issues configuring it, so a day ago, I went back to Mint. Because of this, I might give Arch another try. Thanks for your work!
@@skyred500 yes. It works with minimal Arch as well. After the installation you can start with the command Hyprland or install sddm as display manager.
Clean. I'm keeping it. 4k 2x scaling works. I want (example: rofi mouse click away or click back on Apps button instead of ESC to close). A gnome alternative. Prefer wallpaper change keybinding, but manual is clean. This is the best Hyperland Fedora.
@@mylinuxforwork My hack for rofi click to close was a .desktop file named esc. Now when i click on esc in rofi it closes from mouse. I found copr for waypaper and swww all works on fedora.

Congrats! Suggestion Split out your hyprdots from hyprland install. I am using another projects hyprdots for NixOS that way. He has a nice script to backup existing folders and then copy his config. Its not the true NIXOS way but it works well Thanks again for your amazing work

I dont think hyprpaper works on fedora. I cant install waypaper. I need wallpaper binds. Im brand new to hyperland but i love it and will continue trying to fix this.

Open this folder /dotfiles/hypr/conf/keybindings and copy the file default.conf to mykeybindings.conf, make your changes. Then open the dotfiles app, go to system and search for keybindings variations. Select your new mykeybindings.conf. Work from now on in mykeybindings.conf only.

Don’t understand your question. Hyprland is the underlying window manager. My ML4W Dotfiles and hyprdots are prepared configurations that are running on top.
That is a great question. The following reasons have motivated me to switch to GitHub: Better landing page to present the ditfiles, great mobile apps, large numbers of users which makes it easier to them to open issues, and it’s faster.

@@mylinuxforwork Hey, I just tried to use the terminal in vscode. And there I could see in the gui line right hand over the terminal (where it says "bash" until given a prompt) "hypr".... something. So it must be something with the config that gets triggered when opening the terminal. Though after I got it running didn't really mess with it anymore.
@@mylinuxforwork Initially started out with an Arch install about 2 weeks ago, but had no sound. Not knowing enough about Linux, I blamed it on Arch and installed Mint. So I never got to experience Hyprland, albeit with no sound. I still haven't resolved my sound issue, where I have NO SOUND in the front panel, and only get sound in the back panel after first unplugging the headphone jack and then plugging it back in. Arch is a beautiful OS, and IMO is one of the better ones in terms of preserving what Linux is all about.
You can give it a try. But I am using KVM/Qemu which is working. I would suggest to start a quick search first about how to install Hyprland on virtual box

You’re right. You have to setup sddm manually. But that’s easy. On Arch it’s sudo pacman -S sddm

Difficult to answer. Arch is a rolling release, Fedora more traditional. The great thing with Linux is that you can try it out.

I got an RX7600 and the script tells me I got an NVIDIA card. How is this possible?
The script doesn’t detect the GPU. It’s just a remark for Nvidia users that the installation could fail because of wiki.hyprland.org/Nvidia/

Just run the installer. The folders from .config that will be replaced, will be stored as a backup.
