  • Impossible Pie - Crazy Crust-less Amish Pie - Super Easy. This is the easiest pie I have ever made. It takes less than 5 minutes to prepare. The hardest part is waiting for it to cool so you can eat it.
It actually forms its own crust as it cools. You can use any flour to thicken the pie, so it is very easy to make a gluten free variety. Because it doesn’t have a traditional piecrust, it is much better for diabetics and dieters with calorie, fat and carbohydrate restrictions.
This is truly a pie you can enjoy without feeling guilty about eating. It is an absolutely delicious pie with several variation possibilities.
Remember to put God first! :)

I made this pie today. It's great! Coconut cream pie is my favorite, but I don't like to have all the pie crust work and calories. This is such an easy recipe. The hardest part was waiting for it to cool. Thanks for all your cooking and lifting up of Jesus videos. May God continue to bless you.

I just saw your channel in the suggested videos. I’ve never heard of an Impossible Pie but because it looked like a Chess Pie and because you have ‘hillbilly’ (I’m from Louisiana) in the title I thought I would watch your video. When I saw your Jesus is Lord sign I was so thrilled at your boldness to acknowledge Him! It is so encouraging for Christians to see other Christians be open about their faith in Jesus as their Savior. You are a blessing! You inspire me. Reading the comments shows that many many people are touched by you. You are a great example of a Godly woman.

I've made a savory version in summer: with tomato slices, and fresh basil from the garden. Grated parmesan & garlic powder replace the sugar & vanilla. Impossible pie can be a quick & easy side dish, or light lunch, as well as a dessert.

@@skyydancer67if you have a summer squash in your garden, the tender yellow ones or zucchini, thin sliced of these work as well. You can sprinkle seasoned breadcrumbs or your fav savory herbs on top, for extra flavor. I'm not fond of really acidic tomatoes either. I tend to grow less acidic varieties. And the sweet, wee, Sungolds I can eat straight from the stem!

When I first saw this recipe it was on either a Gold Medal or King Arthur flour bag -- as near as I can remember the late 50's or early 60's -- they had several variations to it.(different flavors) they also came out with a pizza recipe that you poured a batter (a little thicker than cake batter) in a pan and carefully spread pizza sauce on it and added the veggies and cheeses you wanted and baked it - it was really good. In those days almost every bag of flour came with a long strip of recipes inside.

Thanks for reminding me of the pour pizza. I missed those kits till I forgot about them. These days it costs so much to be able to buy proper groceries. I stretch everything as far as possible, or else I'd starve. This may sound crazy, but last year I had car trouble and hadn't been able to get to the grocery, all had was a couple cups of flour, 2 eggs, and of course sugar, flavorings and such. I thought what can I do. So I baked a cake. Problem solved, untill I could get it to the store. I have tried making the cornbread pizza, or whatever it's called. Almost half an inch of liquid corn bread mixture, put all ingredients on top of the cornbread mixture, (if using ground beef, turkey, chicken, etc, fry that up first before adding to the mixture) the ingredients consist of whatever you like or want. Bake all together like you would cornbread. I forget what it's called and haven't made it in twenty years, because I can't eat anything that's gritty, especially cornmeal, seeds, nuts etc.. Anyway that's a full meal unless you want to have a salad with it.

Hey Phyllis! I know your post was some time ago… but thought that I would share how to make this recipe more diabetic friendly. I am type 2 diabetic but insulin resistant. I am restricted in carbs as well as sugar. I use almond flour ( 1 cup = 4 carbs) and substitute stevia for the sugar. ( use pkg directions for amount to use). I also use almond milk instead of any type of regular milk. Low carb eating allows more butter/ fat. It is the carbs / sugar in milk that effects diabetics. This turns out to be about 7 carbs for the whole pie compared to almost 200 as the recipe is written. Oh… and no coconut… I am allergic. 👍

Thank you so much for this recipe! One of our Church members made this for my family when my mother passed away, and I never got the recipe. It was absolute comfort food for me😊 I will be trying your recipe out this next week when we're all on house arrest! Lord, I hope this virus comes to an end soon! God bless all!❤

I’ve been bringing dinners over but not going in the house which is SO weird. I gave her an instant pot for Christmas that’s still in the box. Came back with me yesterday. Should keep me entertained awhile. Be well!

Made this pie today. Turned out great. Grated fresh coconut worked well, once I stopped the bleeding from grating my knuckle! I didn't have whole milk. I used 1 1/2 cup Lactaid and a half cup of half and half. It's the type of pie you open the refrigerator and see and think "Hmm, maybe I'll just have a tiny slice" and soon, its all gone! Thank you for the recipe!
