- We’ve upgraded our popular all-in-one DJ system, the XDJ-RX, to create the XDJ-RX2.

The new two-deck, two-channel system inherits features and design traits from our flagship NXS2 set-up to bring you a professional DJ experience whether you use it to control music stored on your laptop via rekordbox dj, or directly from USB devices.
The 7-inch large touch screen in the centre of the XDJ-RX2 displays waveforms from both decks simultaneously, plus detailed track information including sync status and playback position so you can get a quick visual reference during mixes. You can bring up a QWERTY keyboard on the display for finding your next track faster, plus there’s a large rotary selector and Needle Search, Track Filter and Short Cut features inherited from the flagship CDJ-2000NXS2 multi player. Each deck has eight large, multicoloured Performance Pads for tactile control over Hot Cues, Beat Loop, Slip Loop and Beat Jump, and you can get even more creative with the Beat FX and Sound Color FX which come from the flagship DJM-900NXS2 4 Channel DJ mixer.

Love that youu can see 'current value' in the track search list at 1:24, I doubt 5% of people buying this hardware could mix any of his tracks together smoothly.... Hard DNB for the win!!!

GF just bought this for me, and she wants to incorporate this controller into her existing Karaoke and Princess Party business.
This will give her the option to book me as an EDM DJ (breaks, freestyle, House). Also will be using the xdj-rx2 for weddings and that type of celebration event.
THIS IS PERFECT.
I have the first gen RX and Nexus lineup and have to say. If you turned the RX into a 4 deck channel layout, gave it CDJ size platters and unlocked Cue Bank functionality then it would be my dream player and away with the Nexus lineup

DJ Andy Key I had a mk1 I bought it before the price went up and paid £1050 with a free decksaver. Had to sell it due to change in career. All I care about is this new one dropping the price of the mk1
Everyone is going to disagree on this but I like the smaller jogs -- prefer the space savings.

Fantastic Product. Although everyone wishes this was 4 channels, we got our hopes up to high. The fact that they added a search function with the qwerty keyboard is a big plus. ONE THING THEY LEFT OUT, THE NEW XDJ-RX2 CAN'T PLAY FLAC FILES. What a SUPER BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. Everyone is using FLAC files now to save music, it's going to be 2018, FLAC should be standard on these controllers. My CDJ-2000NXS2 plays them, why not this? Great upgrade from the last XDJ-RX, but not perfect.
Best thing about this is the Mk1 version will become cheaper on the secondhand/used market when the 'must have the new pioneer gear' people sell up! :-)

I am still waiting to see something like "xdj-rz", ddj2000, or similar. A full size complete setup! Im not expecting you to replace the NXS2 setup with an all in one system, but It would be nice to have a "mobile" version of it for non fixed installations. I would kill to have the ddj1000 in xdj standalone version. I hope you take it into account.

Being an audiophile with large music collection this unit looks like a lot of fun. If only it would support 24 bit/ 96 kHz files and even more importantly Flac. Such support would allow many to jump into bedroom DJing and fun evenings straight away. Instead, the only option I see is to convert everything from Flac to Aiff, as well as to have a separate copy of high bit depth / sample rate files converted to 24/48. Possible? For sure. Convenient? Not so much.

I've never touched a Turn table. I was looking ar the entry level Pioneer DDJ-SB3 Serato DJ Controller with Pad Scratch
. However, if you get a starter kit and grow out of it, you'll spend more money overall. However, the risk in buying gadgets is that they can sit for years like my Maschine did until I pulled it out years after purchase. Now I am ready to get back into music and make this one of my equipment. Should I start off small or go large and dive into it.
Go with the sb3, learn how to beat match and go to a few dj stores and fell around to what you like, and before you do anything, learn about tracklists

How fast will it work with tracks from USB without recordbox? Will it correctly determine their BPM?
to not use Recordbox with this is to waste this. Recordbox is essential now for any USB DJ. Its really fuckin good and is free. Everything data wise is saved. you dont wanna be making cue points while mixing do ya. you just wanna do that as preperation and then press a button to jump between them.
The thing is that I want other dj's play on this station, and believe me not all dj's using Recordbox, I know some cool dj's who uses USB only, so I wanna know how it works without Recordbox. Oldschool dj's don't need to set up previously cue points as they know their tracks good

I have to say after all the waiting it is a bit disappointing to me.
To me it seems its only gotten a bit more user friendly thanks to the touchscreen and the higher amount of pads. Improved rekordbox usability is also nothing convincing as most people buy this thing to have a standalone machine. (Rekordbox video is also something i dont get by the way. Its a neat gimmick, but do i really need that on my mixer? Again: only usable when connected to a Laptop)
There is no way im gonna upgrade from my xdj-rx mk1 just for a new set of color fx and a qwerty touch keyboard.
What would have been a reason for me, would have been to implement proper XDJ-1000 jog wheels and even more important, a 3rd channel on the mixer.
I know, it would pull away attention from their flagships, but still: Their clubmixer would still have a 4th channel and more or different features. I also know this would rise the price (not that pioneer isnt already overpriced, but thats a different story), but i think it would still sell. Many people were asking for this, because they don't want to spend 9000$ just to be able to use a 3rd channel on something that is standalone.
Well thats just my opinion, it seems like a XDJ-RX 1.5 and i don't see the development time.
Bigger jog wheels wont fit the unit, this is meant to be portable. And what for anyway? If scratching is youre thing youre better off with a battle mixer and for edm beat matching you dont even need jog wheels like traktor does lol
Pioneer isnt over priced, you know how many clubs still have djm 800s? Those have been around forever now and most of them still work great. Top quality!

If those jig wheels are still inductive to contact rather than movement then all they have done is added the touch screen. POINTLESS -
The Auxiliary in is also pointless.

All this anticipation for a newer better model and Pioneer have just really wasted time shuffling buttons about. Now 8 pads and not one is a sampler. C'mon , more like a XDJ-RX 1.4
i haven an xdj-rx the old one , i don't think it's worth the upgrade , it's nice to see that they got a new search function up , and some new colors but thats about it i think that will be usefull , it's a shame that they didn't inplement a send and return function for an rmx or something other then that great unit :D

I wish pioneer will release a XDJ RX 3 bacause the RX 2 has the Midi function and if you buy a stand-alone-system, it isn't necessary to play rekordbox dj. The RX 3 should have in addition to rekordbox, USB 1, USB 2 two CD-playerslots for player a and b.
This is excellent. Question: can you use time coded vinyl to play audio files from USB without a laptop? If so, I'm selling a lot of my equipment, and you're taking my money.
3-4 years late but mines in the mail on its way! Can't wait to finally get accustomed to the Rekordbox workflow, been using Serato/DDJ-SX2 for a hot minute.

Hey crew! Just got this yesterday and using rekordbox to play the tracks directly from the laptop. I’ve analysed the tracks and set them to show Camelot (numeric) value in rekordbox but when they load into the rx2, they still show the regular western tuning when trying to search by key. What am I missing? Thanks in advance! OS X btw.
Rx2 does not have a Sampler options. What do you reccommend

So turns out timecode is NOT certified for the XDJ-RX2, deal breaker for me i was thinking of downsizing my whole setup with this.

Depends on if you value the new features. I've ordered it already and was able to buy the old one used for 1000 bucks, but decided to wait. imho the fact that it's new and the touch screen alone makes me think it's worth! However you could get a pair of very good monitors for 700 bucks ;)

I'd like a simpler, less bells and whistles, more affordable version of this standalone that relies on the sync button and doesn't have or need the platters. Will you offer a product like this? It would be nice if it fit in a backpack as well

If i wanted to add a turntable to this, playing a record, mixed from a song from a USB is that possible to change in between without having to adjust the phono/cables? In summary, a 3 deck option, but 2 channels to play at one time. Is that what is shown here?

Why does every Pioneer product video have to state that a Rekordbox license is included? Given how much Pioneer equipment costs and their reliance on Rekordbox, I would expect every product to include a free license no matter what. After all, without Rekordbox and just using mp3s/FLAC without the software would probably not be as fluid as tracks that have been analyzed through Rekordbox - so why talk about the license? I expect Rekordbox to be given free no matter what, in every single Pioneer product it has relevance in. It isn't a selling point. The hardware you sell works better with your software, so you're giving me a license? Wow!
The licence is for Rekordbox DJ as you will need that to be able to play videos using this thing. Remember rekordbox is already free (Export mode) to download/prepare tracks/make playlists.

I have just sold all my Pioneer Cdjs & a Djm Mixer for upgrade and really like the looks of this !! I mainly play Vinyl / Cds and some times use Ableton & Traktor !! My question is the Video control just a gimmick or can i project video from this Unit on to a big screen etc ? or also Record the video & my music mixes together as ie an mp4 file etc - Also i have not used Record box yet - do any of the cue points i make in Record box just export straight on to the Usb and then saved for when i dj on other nexus / Pioneer kit in the club ??
Hi there! The XDJ-RX2 cannot play a video file like mp4, you can play a video with rekordbox video. In this use case, the XDJ-RX2 just work as a controller of rekordbox.
You can project a video to a big screen from the computer, not from XDJ-RX2. Regarding recording function, it is not possible to record video. You can record only audio even if you play a video file with rekordbox video.

This is this exact same DJ deck that CHU² uses in Bandori, so Pioneer needs to release a limited edition of the deck with sketch designs of CHU² and Michelle!
Question... Is the DJS-1000 compatible with this unit? So will it hold sync in the same way as a stand alone unit? Looking at either this or xdj700 x2 plus mixer. Obviously the cost is about the same but want to add a DJS-1000 later so would like to know which set up is better suited.
