Man that was some clickbait. Was about to smack you one.
Nice one haha :)
DjRavine tu eres y seras el mejor !
Lol
Come smack me see what you get
Yea
the is the best clickbait I have ever clicked on
Sounds like a Jeremy clarkson review on top gear 👍
More like hammond
He’s the Jeremy clarkson for pioneer dj
God dammit I thought this was gonna be the video that deterred me from getting it but now I KNOW I’m getting one
They're brilliant mate. I just got 2 and use 4 decks
Did you get it
@@harryfreeman9444 yeah but I eventually returned it because I was broke asf. It was so much fun and made everything easy even for someone who’s never DJ’d like me
you really got me on this one i just bought one and had no idea that it could have been a bad purchase. but when you said it was brilliant i was so happy : )
This was the biggest troll I've ever encountered. And I love it.
I've been with you since I remember myself playing music, which is about 10 years! Thank you for helping me become who I am sir!!
THE CRAZYSAM it’s a pleasure namaste 🙏
Cocaine is one helluva drug...
hahaha, he must have done one huge line before he started this video.
LOL! My thoughts exactly. I know cause I know! Here have another line of anxiety dust......
Lol me tooo.......
can i have a glass of water with that
Big line indeed...
Just ordered mine today! I currently use Serato DJ and Pioneer DDJ-SX2, but wanted something that's as close to using CDJs in a club/festival setting as possible; from controls to using the Rekordbox software. Looking forward to playing around with it and making it my main home right!
Hi how did it go ? This Rx2 being a standalone means I dont have to connect it to my laptop ?. Lets say I bought this RX2. I have all my music on my USB in mp3 format. so I take my new Rx2 out of the box and i plug in my USB. will everything work ok ? will i be able to use it straight away PLay my music from my USB stick OR are there software issues when first using it ? would I need to change all my music -convert all my music files a to another files ?
@@bsfbestshortfilmsonyoutube it's all standalone, no need to connect a laptop to it. You'll need to get all your music on Rekordbox software then export all your music onto your USB stick to use with the RX2. Plenty more info via Google 👍🏾
Genius Clickbait. Love it. Was about to get one... then went "Hold oooooon a minute". THEN watched this... all the way to 3mins and went "Phew!" Made my day.
So glad to see someone sticking up for controllers. So many idiots who don't know that a CDJ and a controller do the exact same thing, they pull the song file into the software so you can control it, doesn't mater if it's USB, laptop or CD it's all the same. Only vinyl turntables are truly different to a controller.
this unit goes beyond the controller type because the xdj rx2 is like having a pair of xdj 700 and a djm 450
The whole reason I'm considering buying the XDJ-RX for me is that it's NOT a controller. It can be used as a controller (so can any modern pioneer CDJ/DJM setup), but it's a stand-alone all-in-one machine.
While you say controllers and CDJs are the same, I tend to disagree for a couple of reasons:
- Controllers and CDJs are more or less the same, but only when it comes to functionality. When it comes to reliability, responsiveness, feel and build quality CDJs come out on top. Laptops are vulnerable to system failures and are a weak link in the audio chain that could turn a performance into a blackout disaster. Also, controllers have latency. It's not much, but it is a noticeable difference. Along with the wide setup and large jog wheels it makes CDJs have a much better feel when DJing (although this could be a personal opinion, I think most people would agree). Ever since I switched from a controller to CDJs, I never ever wanted to go back to a controller. The Pioneer XDJ-RX would be pushing it for me with its reduced jog wheel size, but I think I can live with it if it saves me tons of money.
- Controllers make (learning) DJs dependent on BPM indicators, visual wave forms and sync buttons. They're useful tools and most of the time this is not a problem, but sometimes technology fails and a DJ should be able to correct the computer's mistake with ease. A propper DJ should also be able to manage without all the computer assists. Quite some places where I played had a set of 900s, and many controller DJs are afraid to use it because it has no precise enough BPM indicator or sync button.
- Controllers are more inviting to the 'serato' face (Google it if you don't know it). DJs are more easily trapped into focusing on their laptop screens rather than reading the crowd. The fewer (and smaller) screens a DJ has, the better.
this isnt a controller..... it's a standalone mixer u lil stupid stupid
You're correct, I should have said all in one unit.
True
I think thoose Cdj‘s are so overpriced, and you can do so much more on a controler then the Cdj‘s
Wow, that's a terrific review. 😂 You made my day, mate. Cheers.
Great video! But is this still worth buying in 2024? I’m a CDJ getting back into things after 15 years. Feel I’ve missed a lot of things but this may be a great starting point?
the real cherry on top would be cdj sized platters. they know the cdj market would be DEAD if they did
Xdj xz is what your looking for 4 channel standalone with big jog wheels :)
Been watching you over 10 years when u were called DJTutor . Love every bit of it. Am I happy with you making clickbait.. I don’t know?? But I am happy with every advise you give cuz I still think you as my Tutor 🙏
first time hearing this term..... didnt want to do a click bate, just wanted to get peoples atention..... that's all :)
ellaskins got my attention and I wanted to see what I was getting into this will most likely by my first controller so I wanted to be sure. This was good advice as your the only person on UA-cam that I trust in the online dj scene albeit because I’m pretty new
Practice and enjoy
For a mobile dj, this is perfect...
All I needed to hear, buying mine tomorrow
You are brilliant, ive been watching you for years and have really appreciated your clips and tips. I also have the XDJ-RX mark1 and i have successfully played some old school gigs in the last year. Thank you and keep the tips/info coming. Have you any tips for the old school tunes
What's the actual cherry on top compared to the mkI in your opinion? Most of the stuff you said are features in the mkI. The only one I didn't find familiar was the "needle drop" touchscreen bit
I remember watching you on how to beat-match, way back in 2009. thank you!
If only Pioneer would make a hybrid of the XDJ-RX2 and the DDJ-1000! That would be the ultimate game changer for the home/bar/wedding setup. The DDJ-1000 would be perfect if it supported USB's, needle search/wave form option via 7" screen, vinyl speed adjust, release/start. Send/receive and Rec Out on a controller would be nice. Price tag of £1799 and they will not be able to make them fast enough!
XDJ XZ would be it? 4 yrs later 😅🫶

Just discovered your channel after reading one of your comments on a +Jauja Cocina Mexicana video, so quite by accident but I'm glad I found you. I've been wanting to learn some DJ skills just for my own family parties and such. Already sub'd and looking forward to learning a lot from you. Cheers from southern California USA!
hahaha so cool!! What video of Jauja Cocina Mexicana? :DD
Awesome in depth video... Bro please can you assist me? I am a XDJRX2 owner I recently went to the studio and mixed on the Nexus CDJ and was lost with the jog wheel sensitivity. My mixing was all over the place. What setting should I have on the CDJ to mimic the RX2 jog wheel?
Bless
2k in my skyrocket... hmmm lemme see.
XDJ RX2, set of speakers and

Couple of grams of the good stuff. Let's party!!!!
The thing that puts me off using one piece of equipment like this, or a laptop, is that if it crashes, then the music stops until the whole thing has been rebooted. Whereas, if it's a CDJ that crashes, you can quickly switch to another one and let that play while the first CDJ is rebooting.
I think it'll be great to keep in the studio or at home though, but not in a club environment.
All those comments about the price difference of the CDJ-2000NXS2 forget several important details. The CDJ-2000NXS2 can:
- play CD and DVD Audio
- play flash drive or SD card
- control Traktor in HID mode
- control Serato in HID mode
- control rekordbox DJ in HID mode
- control DeeJay Pro in HID mode
The RX2 can play flash drive and control rekordbox DJ in HID mode.
NX2 is expensive because a club can install it and any DJ on any platform can use it.
But, any dj o any platform can use the xdj-rx2 too
I dont understand about programming. ? I thought this being a standalone means I would not have to connect it to my laptop. Lets say I bought this RX2. I have all my music on my USB in mp3 format. I take my new Rx2 out of the box and i plug in my USB. will everything work ? will i be able to use it straight away ?are there software issues when first using it would I need to change convert all my music files a to another ?
Damn.. i was sold for one as i can add a vinyl turntable on the side. Then saw this review headline and was like. Awwwww shit.
You got me...
Take my money.
Enjoy your reviews very much friend, I just got my XDJ-RX2. Loving it so far, & still workijng with it to understand it fully
Have you ever had your hands on the XDJ RR?
At 3.02 lol, great vid, you make some good points based on costing versatility etc, I've owned technics, cdj 1000mk3, cdj900nexus, found the nexus to be a mistake within weeks of getting them and over 3k, sold the nexus 6 months later, and really considered the rx ranges, great machines, but for me the biggest thing to put me off was jog wheel size, I just struggle with the smaller platter, so my choice was the rz, and it still cost less than I sold the nexus for.
Can you notice any difference in sound quality between the RX and RX2 ??
So I’m really confused does he hate or like the XDJ-RX MK2??
I like your analogy. Smart.
Hello mate, love your vids. quick question what usb drive do you recommend as still have not found one that I'm totally happy with? thanks.
How would you recommend transporting this to gigs - a hardcase flightcase or the Pioneer DJC-RX2 bag?
So you can hook up 2 turntables and do vinyl on this? I thought I seen somewhere that there was a problem mixing when 2 turntables was used. Having the vinyl option would definitely be a selling point for me.
I can’t get my tunes from Rekord box to play on my mates XDJ. It has the Rekord box version. Still didn’t work. Not a very user friendly experience. Spent the whole day trying to figure it out. Still no luck.
clickbait but worth it :)
Peter K it really isn't click bait. It really isn't a good dj.
if only it was 4 channel
DDJ-RZX
It would be nice, but nobady will ever again buy a pair of cdj 2000nx2 and a djm 900mk2
i have the DDJ SX2, i don't see the reason to get the XDJ-RX2 instead of the SX2. The SX2 is cheaper, AND 4 channels! Sure it's not standalone but if I am someone looking for a DJ controller i'd rather buy a cheaper 4 channel 4 deck DJ controller for 1000$ and just use a laptop than buy a 1700$ standalone XDJ-RX2 just cause i don't have to use a laptop.
What about DJ's that don't have a laptop? I only use my desktop lmao. $1000 for the SX2 and then another $1000 for a decent laptop. works out more expensive tbh. also, you can hook the RX2 up to software and have 4 channels via custom mapping
jayjaybirdsnest yeah i can see that but theres still only 2 physical channels
Who is this guy? I love his style, his wicked, and that music is so good!😘 im also keen to get an rx2🥳🥳🥳
yo small world! hahahaha
I know you have videos for the XDJ RX1 as far as interesting dj techniques I was wondering if you could do one for the mark 2 for as far as the extra pads and new/streamlined features if any!
hello sir, which is the best DJ controller can you suggest me to buy to play trance music?
You almost frightened me, because I just purchased the RX2 (still in the box)... wheeeew!
Hi mate, question .. Any thoughts on jog wheel adjustment on the RX2? On the cdj's without jog adjust you can open them up to mechanically adjust them. I just don't seem to get why on these systems pioneer didn't do anything for jog adjust. Is there a way to open this badboy up and do the same thing?
So, the name of the video is sarcasm? Is it worth buying?
What's best this or rhe DDJ1000 ?
i want to buy a new dj set , wich one would u guys recommend ? pioneer , or denon dj ? and my budget is around 1200-2300 euro
Pioneer Xdj-xz
I prefer the first generation XDJ . I have both. Specially the crossfader in the second gen, is really bad.
But both are excellent machines. I'm using them in wedding events since 2016.
More than 400 parties done (In summer time, working almost every day) and I NEVER had a problem, never freeze, never any small issue. NOTHING.
Are fantastic.
Hi Jonathan. Is there any chance you could do a video comparing the rx2 with the ddj 1000 please?
I can't wiki wiki with nexus and controller
"XDJ-RX2" or a set of "2 XDJ700's & Reloop RMX80" mixer... Which would you take?
Xdj-rx2 no question
This would be something I would buy if I was starting again, currently use NI Traktor DVS, which is a great piece of kit, a stop gap between vinyl and controllers.
I love the videos look the same as when I learned to dj from him 11 years ago
omg. haha I just ordered this and you made my heart stop literally while I was scrolling from UA-cam. brilliant
Thanks that review has sold me x
Got these decks I think their brilliant nice one Ella skins ❤ x
Haaa, you got me, I was a bit suprised of the title :p
Had a good little chuckle with this, nice review. Got mine about a month ago and it was the best bit of cash I’ve spent in ages!
Wish i didn’t have to wait 200 years for it to wipe my bottom tho :
I looking into getting this for the fact that I don't need a computer since my brand new Tracktor S2 MK3 doesn't work with my Mac. I love the ability to use USB thumb drives and .wav files which are important features for me but I wish Pioneer had built in a hard drive for storage in case a thumb drive broke.
Since when could you buy a XDJ-RX2 for 450-500 bucks?
The one thing it doesn’t do kills it for me - DVS! An extra couple of channels would be the icing on the cake.
it doesn't have an ethernet port How can I sync the dd j 1000 sampler with this player ?
I wonder if you can use phase dj with it, you can plug in a tt but will it recognise it?
What is the recommended USB flash drive to use on the rx2?
what about de xdj 700?
Do You go climbing?
Anyone out there use the Toraiz with the RX2?
It's all new to me.
Would like to DJ and produce with no laptop and no vinyl. Total beginner.
Any thoughts or advice.
Thanks!
That english accent is like buttery smooth sophistication.
I decided to pick this up as my first dj controller for no more than 480 pounds!! Apparently Pioneer had a sale on amazon recently.
Will you be doing a ddj 1000 video or ddj 1000 vs xdj rx2 video?
I love how the English talk
Mines is on its way in the post - I am super excited!
Can you connect turntables with it? Techies mk2 lets say
Yes
Actually not called MK2 but I love your videos!
Is there an actual “sound quality “ difference between a CDJ vs the rx2 or any other dj controller being its so much more money??
See to be honest I really cant fault my rx2... it has never went wrong for me and the sound quality is absolutely amazing out the rx2... i cannot hear much of a difference between the nxs2 and the rx2
The sound quality out the rx2 is definitely better than most mixers out there so you are actually better plugging the amps straight out of the back of the controller
It's not the first to do that, there's many controllers that have that sort of capability, USB, MIDI/HID, or External, the XDJ-R1 for example, has CD built in, and USB to read from memory stick, AND it can be used as a controller on the laptop etc, Also, you can plug in external decks...
I had the R1 for smaller events and as a backup unit to my Nexus setup and it worked fine. The screen on the other hand is terrible, and an iPad was essential for browsing. You must have a special output for it in RB, so you can't use your usb's on both the R1 and other cdj's/xdj's without changing the output in RB. This makes the unit less useful and to realize you forgot to change the output when you arrive to the club is not fun. Well worth the money, but the RX2 is up on par with the NXS2 system and on a complete other level. As a user of the standalone players I avoided the RX because some buttons were on a different place than on the standalone units, which makes it confusing in the heat of the moment, but now everything is in the right place. If you want something you can learn on and then go straight to the club and use the NXS2 setup, The RX2 is the way to go. The included full version of RB DJ is a great bonus you don't event get with the full NXS2 setup without paying for it. Great if you're coming from a controller and want both options.
Whenever I watch your videos I always see durex ads , I reckon it has something to do with your UA-cam name
And now the Denon Prime 4 is way beyond this even. I have them both, both are genius, but the Denon is remarkable
Can you change the waveforms view to vertical going up?
Cool bc I was in between both, going the controller to prepare for clubs. Easier to travel w too
I'm looking into picking one of these up, kinda torn between this and the DDJ 1000 and a new laptop. One thing I will say is that I think pioneer fucked up with the sound colour FX on this one. Dub echo isn't really my thing, but I understand some people like it. As for pitch and noise, no one seems to use them, so why are they there? I'd have much rather had the bitcrusher and gate effects from the original RX.
Part of me wants to hold out for the next iteration, it was about 2 and a half years between the RX1 and 2, if pioneer keep that rhythm going we should be looking at a new model soonish, which hopefully will better compete with denon's prime units in terms of features.
Hi. What did you pick at the end? I have DDJ1000 and thinking about switch to RX2. Would you recommend over DDJ1000?
@@Bodzio1982 I went for the RX2. I've had a brief play about with a DDJ 1000 and apart frog the jog wheels I prefered the feel of the RX2. The jog wheels are my only real complaint, you get used to them but they spin a bit too freely. Pioneer added jog adjust on the RX3, which should solve this.
Might be worth considering the denon prime gear as well, I haven't used any personally but it looks great, and it's way ahead of pioneer in terms of tech.
@@LyK0sa Thanks mate. 🙂
regarding the XDJ RX1, can i hook a CDJ2000 with it and use the RX1 as a mixer? essentially have 3 decks??
also using 1 USB stick to play on all.
Yes this will get the party going instantly! Sold!
Pioneer just released the DDJ 1000 which looks to be an awesome controller. I have my eyes on that one.
I miss you !!!everything I am today (dj-ing internationally)is because of what you have taught me.DJ BIA!
Really brilliant m8 great review. I've went n got one in a shop in glasgow
It most likely has seperate microphone in and Aux in making it kind of 4 channel!
Did you have the opportunity to try the brand new XDJ-RR, if that's the case would you recommend it? :)
I messaged him and he said that the RR is great but the RX is far better
I bought it a few weeks ago ! Unreal kit !!! 👌 keep up the tips buddy
Please do a comparison video with the denon prime 4
oh man, i thought you gonna say there was some error, and i am just about to buy it for super gigs, boat gigs, every fukin great gigs. I had pioneer errors happenin on other controllers. So thx for saying this is awsome piece of art. haha
This scared the shit out of me. This pops up in the recommended after I just buy the insanely expensive deck
Does anyone know T-Bek from Prison Break? This is him now
Well, not quite everything. It wont mix 3 sources for example.
Still makes me laugh watching this 3 years later, Pioneer have put a 🍒 on the top, Pioneer XDJ-RX2 is a beast of a machine,
You bloody legend. Loved this video 😂👊🏼 my RX2 is on its way 👍🏼
This? Or the ddj sr2??
I'm sure RX2 (I'm waiting in days) will be brilliant..but, guys..if there's someone is briliiant..that's YOU!..A Real Guy in a Puppets World! :))
cheers from Italy ;)
What is the tune you play at 7 09 ?
