dear your produce guy. i recently got a mango within a fruit basket. i was very overwhelmed at about potentially cutting this one open. you helped me by making this seem effortless and took away all of my anxiety for doing it. ty for putting out such a helpful video
Well, sir, I am THANKFUL you showed the mango slicer first, because I had no idea such a contraption existed, and now I have to go find one! In the meantime, now I know how to cut mangoes the right way with a knife (I have been cutting mangoes wrong all along--oops!). Thank you! Your videos are great, and anyone who is going to throw a fit at you for sharing your passion and your knowledge with others needs to calm down and drink a smoothie or two. :) Bless!
LOL you definitely should have shown the knife method first. Even I was caught off guard when you busted out that mango cutter. I was like WTF man I don't have one of those!? But luckily I decided to keep watching because I just love mangoes :) tnx for the vid. Now i'm going to go cut some up!
Miles, I'm sorry that you felt mislead. I wasn't selling anything there, just demonstrating how to use that device to save time. I'm guessing you didn't watch the video all the way through, as I show you how to do the same job with just your knife. The video is about options for you. Sorry that you didn't find those options helpful.
fogggygyrl Yeah, maybe just HOW TO CUT A MANGO (KNIFE & MANGO CUTTER) When I first opened the video, i honestly had the same reaction though. “Dude, if I had a mango cutter I wouldn’t need a video on how to cut them!”
I started off thinking "ohhh I don't have a slicer" so thanks so much for showing us how to do it with a knife!! I first used a peeler and it was very messy haha! Great tips! I'm looking forward to looking at some more videos xxx love from The Netherlands!
Thank you for the great tips ! I'm always cutting my mangos trying to skin them first , making mango juice all over the counter lol . @YourProduceGuy you're just lovely . Keep making videos
Hello Teacup. Thanks for subscribing. You know, many fruits and vegetables have a ton of nutrition in their skins. The only issue I have with the Mango skin is that it can cause an allergic reaction in some people. Some people have a 'poison ivy' type reaction to the oil in the skin of the Mango. Just make sure you are not one of those people before you eat the skin. Thanks for watching and for your comment!
I, too, wondered the same as you, so I looked him up and discovered that he died last year, 3/17/17, of a heart attack. :( You can find the post on his page: facebook.com/YourProduceGuy
Great video, you have a new subscriber :-) Mangoes have always been tough for me not to make a big mess but I never even considered there was a way to know which way the seed faces. Thanks!
ATTENTION ALL VIEWERS: Before you make yourself look like a dunce by posting a comment about how you don't have a mango splitter and how he should just use a knife, try watching the video in its entirety.
Honestly, he should've started with that though... Not only is it more likely that *most* people searching for "how to cut a mango" would be looking for the knife method, but also how many people actually have a mango cutter?
don't be an idiot. he should have started with that. I wouldn't make a video called "How to make money" and then go over the options if you already have a million dollars, let alone warn users that "hey the section for people who don't have a million is right after this".
Thank you for showing us the correct way to cut up a mango. I recently (for the first time) cut up one for a dinner I had, and it was a disaster. Next time I'll have the confidence to do it right. :) I enjoy your very vids a lot.
thank you for showing me how to do this was a great way for me to show my son how to how to enjoy a freshly cut mango and my son really wants to subscribe to you and I think he already did
I've been trying to clean up my diet recently and the fight I just had with this mango before giving up and finding this video felt like something out of a sitcom.
Oh my gosh, Produce Guy, thanks so much!! You really know your stuff! Also, a tasty tidbit of info I learned this week: the Mango skin is the healthiest most nutritious part of the mango, and actually helps burn fat cells! I'll be watching the rest of your videos, just subscribed, thank you!!! Take care:)
when doing this a@ home.. take your time, no rush! that way you get most of the meat of the fruit! thank you, yourproduceguy :-) never knew there was a "mango" slicer!!
Very nicely done. I particularly like the detail on the various cube or dice sized slices as well as the review on peeling the skin or not. I don't know how ou can make a living with this, but you do it well. I will be taking your instruction and making a Corn, Mango Chutney for the first time. You gave me enough info that I feel confident enough to make it well. Thanks and nice work.
I went around the house going "Look at the Mango!!! It's a MANGO!!" I'm used to the all yellow or green oval shaped ones in Pakistan. So this was enlightening.
I've always cut mango this way lol Though, like you, I cut them into the squares and then cut them from the skin, but my mom and some more of my family from Mexico just leave the squares on the skin and just eat it off of there.
Scoring with only some fruit skin between the knife and your skin, and then you've got an inverted cube thing that is awkward. The peeler method isn't messy if you leave a silver dollar sized circle of skin on either side for grips to hold while you slice along the pit. then you can make your slices and crosscut. cutting on the board and not toward yourself is always a win.
Like the video ;p. A suggestion though: you maybe could have shown the knife method first. I do understand why you showed the splitter, but it's a matter of showing the content the viewer is mostly going to be interested or looking for right in the beginning, and the interesting details after. It would work better like that I think. However, a nice video and channel anyway, and this isn't meant as hate by all means, just wanted to share with you how I think it would work better. Keep up the good work!
The comments are just too funny omg. Nice video I didnt know the mango cutter existed I buy mangoes a lot so this will be useful to go buy not a waste of time at all the knife method never works for me lol.
I wish I watched this earlier...today a buddy of mine gave me a mango and I didn't know how to cut it. Long story short, it was juice and fruit everywhere. I know next time and won't be embarrassed, lol.
I really like that seed splitter but I think it would be cool to show your viewers that you can use a glass to peel the mango. I just did it! It worked great. I think using the knife can get to be too messy sometimes. I will look for that seed splitter though and then use my glass trick!
You can purchase that mango cutter from The Pampered Chef. That's where I got mine & it looks just like his. Christa M can you post a video of your glass trick...sounds interesting. I have a mango tree in my backyard, last year had about 50 mangoes. This year just a few. I know they only produce well every few years.
this is one of the most genuine, wholesome videos on this website. thank you for teaching me how to eat my mangoes, brave produce guy.
You're such a nice man. Keep up the good work!

This entire channel is easily the most informative thing I've ever found on youtube. THANK YOU!
LOL you definitely should have shown the knife method first. Even I was caught off guard when you busted out that mango cutter. I was like WTF man I don't have one of those!? But luckily I decided to keep watching because I just love mangoes :) tnx for the vid. Now i'm going to go cut some up!
Just had the juiciest mango with the knife method. Didn't know there was an easier tool. Must purchase!

He should actually listen to it!

Great video, you have a new subscriber :-) Mangoes have always been tough for me not to make a big mess but I never even considered there was a way to know which way the seed faces. Thanks!
This is the question that kept me up at nights!

That's a nice looking, cut up mango.
Where do you purchase mango cutter, great tips do you have any with Epsom salts for tomato plants and tea?
