One thing I learn over this weekend with this WIFI system and something that no one mentions is that, If you disconnect it from the power or the power goes out in your house, you HAVE to reboot it. In what becomes a headache, having to reconnect everything from scratch basically. So with Google Wi-Fi I have never had that problem. (I can only compare it with Google system because they are the only ones I have had), saying this. I prefer Google which is much easier to use, knowing Deco XE75 is better in coverage. I speak from my own experience
Thank you for sharing your experience. I don’t recall having this problem, but it’s been a few months. 😆 However, I’ll keep that in mind for my next TP-Link Deco test. Greatly appreciate it!!!
@@kimandtech Thank you! I actually bought a set last week. I'm running them in AP mode with wired backhaul through my existing network switch (TP-Link) and the performance is amazing! Your thorough review and warning were very helpful.
Hello One of my deco6e keep blinking blue even I did a reset. The other is fine. The Lan port for each deco 1,2 and 3 can you that for wired connection up to 3 devices?
@xxcutive - Hello. I don't know how many LAN ports your model has. If it has 3 LAN ports, the you can have a full wired connection in multiple ways. If there are only 2 LAN ports, then you'll need to daisy chain the connection to have a full wired connection. For example, Main Router connects to Satellite 1 via wired connection, and Satellite 1 is wirely connected to Satellite 2.
How to add these to an existing setup with modem/router for wired devices? Still gonna have wired devices so do we disable the router in the Deco? Does this affect the mesh operation?
I think you can set it up as a wired Access Point if you don't want to use it as a router. I haven't tried it, but I'm including a link for you here on how to set it up. www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1842/
We just set ours up and none of our 2.4 ghz items will connect. That includes all our security cameras and our robot vacuums. He followed your instructions. Please help! Thanks
I didn’t experience this issue. I’d recommend to check your settings to confirm nothing was accidentally disable. You can try turning off all your WiFi routers and turning them back on. Worst case, reset all routers and modem, and set up the routers again.
Hello. From a quick search, here's a link to the TP-Link forum. Please check it out. Hope it will help. If not, try resetting it. Worse case, you might have a bad one. Link: community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/267192
Is the 2nd deco has a Lan port?if yes can i plug a playstation or Desktop computer on the LAN port of the second deco to have internet to play online?thanks
Hi! Yup, they are all identical and have 3 ports for LAN lines on the back of each Deco for this model, so you can definitely plug in your PlayStation or desktop. 🎮🖥️
My primary works great but the two extras I added are not showing up in the app even though they start blinking blue in a minute or two after I power them on. I am seeing them listed as Unsecure networks.
Hi Barry. Oh, interesting. From where you see them listed as Unsecure Networks, are you able to set them as secure? Or if you power cycle all of the Deco devices, do they show up properly on the app then? Unfortunately, I don't have my Deco anymore, so I cannot test for you.
@@kimandtech I see them as unsecure when I list "Other Networks" (e.g. Deco_6953 with no padlock). I've tried to turn on and off but they just won't show on the app. Thanks for your reply.
@@kimandtech Thanks Kim. I just need to troubleshoot now. Will switch routers around, etc and see what happens. All the best to you and yours. I am Subscribed.
I have a long straight run and added more XE5300's. The first connects to the second. The 4rd and 4th connect to the 2nd (not 4 to 3). I added another between 3 and 4, it connected to 2 with weak signal strength. Anyone know why?
I didn't play with the different placements when I had the XE5300, so I'm not 100% sure. However, here are a few of things you can look into: - Did you select the layout that is the closest to your home layout during the setup? - Is the 5th Deco between #3 & #4 closer to 2nd? - Is the 5th Deco between #3 & #4 closer to a microwave or some sort of obstruction that could affect the performance, where it's better to connect to #2? Here's an article I found on the TP-Link website if you want to read a bit more. www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1446/ You may need to try with different placements of your Deco devices to see if the network diagram changes. Good luck!
Just got mine from Costco last weekend! Thank you and very helpful!

It will re-boot automatically, just like an other if there is a power failure? Correct?
I have the Deco M4 and my power goes out a lot. It reboots / reconnects itself. I’ve never had to do anything to reconnect it.
ASMR unboxing! Love it!
Thanks and thank you for stopping by!

Any chance /indications that the latest tp link deco be85 ( / lesser variants only, likely not the be95 variant) is coming to Costco ? Any idea?
Unfortunately, I don't know which TP-Link products Costco will carry.

I would always get a red light when trying to set up net work. Always says not connected to internet.

I guess the last thing you can try is remove the Deco and set them up again. Or email their support. Good luck with your troubleshooting Barry.
