Who thinks this will hold up? I will be putting EXTRA emphasis on riding this hard during Top Quad 3. (Bringing an extra top end incase 😂)
I think itll run fine i ran a rebuilt starter bearing for a while with fucked up rollers on my raptor 660 because i ordered the wrong year one and it still worked decent until i got the right bearing in.
Itl be fine
Should hold up. Thrash it hard and have a blast on your blaster. Lol
Best build I've ever seen on a Yamaha blaster 200.
I think it will be fine tbh
Nothing better than a mid day Michael sabo video
Thank you for watching in the middle of your day bro!
Yess
Right?!?
True
@@MichaelSabo love you man!
Most channels don't take the time to show or explain this kind of stuff. The nice thing is all of this knowledge translates to any engine build. It has helped me gain confidence with my current vintage motorcycle engine tear down. Great job!
Dude this is so awesome to hear! Thanks so much for sharing this and I'm glad my videos have helped you.
I love how real you are. Just like you said. So many people lie to you. Or hide things. I’m just getting into atv’s and mechanics. And I love to watch you and a small handful of other people that do what you do. Keep chasing your passion and being real.
Make ATV’s great again!!!!!
In regards to the loose cylinder head - Someone made a really good point that the OEM studs may have a midsection that is thicker and that that is why the holes seemed too large in my cylinder head. I do have OEM studs on hand and I tested this - the OEM studs do have a midsection that is not threaded but it is not thicker than the all thread studs I used. Here is the OEM stud part number - 90116-08394-00 - You can see in pictures the OEM stud actually appears to be thinner in the unthreaded section. The more you know.
It should be, as if the bolt is thicker in the midsection - it creates a stress riser that will mean you will have a heartbreaking snapped bolt after a rebuild or two
Did your kit come with the head and cylinder?
Michael, you deserve way more subscribers. Not every day do you come across hour long engine build videos and they are actually highly detailed yet entertaining. The amount of effort put into your videos is actually insane.
Wow! This guy never disappoints! The level of honesty and integrity to build these machines the right way. Keep sport quads alive!
Honestly honesty is the best policy
You are the real deal man.
Showing the little "hangups" during a build teaches us more than a smooth edited video of an engine build.
Much more entertaining too!
Love all your videos from south africa
Greetings from the US; thank you for the love 🤘
Same here from Newcastle
🔥 glad you leave the troublesome issues in just so we know we aren’t the only ones lol
I bought a blaster just to rebuild it because of this series! So cool love the videos ! Video editing is on point !
Dude that's awesome to hear! Good luck on your build!
I missed this video but I'm glad it finally got recommended
Also thank you for making the most detailed informative videos around it helps a ton for people like me who have no clue what their doing tearing into the engine. So many videos are so bland and have no actual footage of parts being installed.
Glad to hear my videos help! Thank you for watching them.
@@MichaelSabo no problem thank you for inspiring me to keep going with my raptor 660 and to not give up!
How does this man not have a TV show? If he did it would be fire. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’m ready to see this thing rip Sabo!
Me too dude I'm dying to get this bastard together!
Just woke up And this build is up, the best start of the day.
Thank you for watching man!
You do really good work Mike. Great videos. Always very informative. Really like how you break things down. Keep it up man.
Thank you dude!
You are really the best Michael, its so cool that you show when shit doesnt go your way and like you say a lot of youtubers only show the sunny site like there are never problems, wrong parts and stuff like that, but everybody that does or has really worked a lot with engines with scooters or quads knows these problems, no matter how good and meticolous you work, shit will happen, to show it just says a lot about your personality, i really really appreciate that very much, and how you deal with problems shows how good you really are. like said ten times before i love your videos dude, keep on ! you could easily make a tv show!
the crank bearing trashcan shot was A+ lol
It looks amazing Mike, big difference from how it looked..great job like always..you never disappoint
Thank you Jeff!
Honesty and truth are rare nowadays.
Absolutely love your videos... I feel like I can rebuild any bike in sight because of your videos
same
@@fadedlight8596 Best thing is that he's really honest and accepts the fact that everyone makes mistakes unlike other automotive UA-camrs who thinks they perfect
@@__Yusuf63 yep. I wish I could do something similar like him we need more like him for a broad spectrum of things.. imagine if our government put in as much effort as he puts into his videos. We'd have flying cars!
Dude, this legitimately made my day. Thank you both for the awesome comments and support 🤘👊
protect this man at all costs
Love the note on the door to turn the air compressor off I'm always forgetting.
mike you should do a podcast idk why but i can just listen to you talk all day lmaoo
I've been talking with a friend of mine about doing this for like 2 years now; we might lol
@Michael Sabo this is why i love your vids you use parts we all can get. and you dont hide mistakes we all make
Hey Mike if you slip like 8mm 1/4 drive socket or something like that that fits lose in side needle bearings before drive it in helps keeps needles in place
Thank you for the tip man!
major props for getting the granite master flat. so many people try to do heads and things on a workbench and do more damage than good. could have put the crank in the freezer and slightly warmed the bearing for easier crank install.
I've been a tech 34+ years,, great job man,, great work.
Mike doesn’t miss
You're the man Mike!! Keep it up!!
I'm waiting on my Tecate build😉
Your honesty is truly sincere! Thank you for all the time you put in and detailed explanation.
This engine is going to SING through that FMF Fatty. I’ve had one in my personal Blaster forever and the sound of it never gets old. Anxiously looking forward to the first ride of this as it’s something so familiar and attainable to all of us. Bravo on another sick video, Mike! Keep ‘em coming!!
That M80 in the garbage can thing never gets old. 🤣
I agree that people should be more honest man. Everyone is screwing eachother around nowadays treating eachother like nothing.
Sad but true
@@MichaelSabo Every time i buy a quad theres way more wrong with i think possible, even if i buy a "trail ready quad"
the best 2 stroke rebuilder🤙🏽👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼keep going michael, watching from spain
Thank you for that man!
It's nice how you show real life issues. How the rollers fell out of the bearing is what actually happens even if your being super careful it's no different installing ujoints in a driveline I've had a few fall out and decided to send it and never had a issue with that ujoint for thousands of miles. Love the vids bro
Hey sabo, I know your all about quads. I am also. Can you give us a shop tour?? Like a video made to telling us everything you have to do the amazing things you do. I have started my own little shop for all things with a motor. I’d like to see your shop and what stuff you use. ❤❤
Great video. I like the dowel trick to sleeve the cylinder head holes.
You are the best Michael ❤
You are the best!
watching this video on my wife's laptop and noticed she was not subscribed to the channel ..well here is one more for you Mike on you're way to 250k subscribers . By the way the video quality everytime we watch is just getting better and better with the ideas for shots and music mixed with jokes and serious tech talk. its great ! i wish you the 250k then 500k subs . keep at it mike !
34:02 I love when he does that🤣
That money shot at the end 👌 great music to.
watched the entire video and it was super informative. My pops and I had quite the falling out. And after I moved states, I lost interest in riding and working on bikes, reminded me of rougher times . After 3 years of no bike , i’m past it and getting started on a tc125 project . podcasts and videos like these have truly revived my love for building and riding again. thanks michael 🫵🏽🤘🏾
Can’t tell you how happy I am to see this video up! Keep up the great work buddy
Hell yea man! Hope you enjoyed it and thank you for watching 🤘
Started watching you after I rebuilt the top end on my blaster before u started on yours wanted too work on one so bad bought a blaster frame scavenged for months finding all the engine components and this video has made everything so easy thanks mike 👌
I have watched this video adleast 3 times because I love your videos
Motor came out really nice, great work Sabo
Thank you brotha!
Sabo's channel is the shit! It always gets me excited to work on my bike!
I love that he makes three separate frames to throw out that bearing I died🤣🤣
"6 inch shaft yeah that's what she said"- Classic Sabo!
Good stuff, showing the error on the bearing. Not just that you were honest about chancing the fix, but it shows the potential danger of using a socket at a bearing driver. That kind of stuff happens to everybody. And I mean EVERYBODY. You probably just saved some 15 year old kid 3 months of leaf raking money. Good Stuff.
I really like the end of the video where you staggered the before and afters was a pretty cool vibe
Hey man I’m 16 and I’m really learning so much from you. Thank you for these amazing videos🤘
Cool vid as a car/truck mechanic it's good to see how the small motor mechanics build
Bearings should always be tapped in with a one piece tool that fits the OD of the bearing, they make installer kits. Seals always get installed with the flat surface facing away from the liquid. Bearings all have numbers on them, it is usually universal and can me looked up on the internet for size. I worked at a two cycle motor shop when I was school, I machined and rebuilt motors all day long, usually 4-6 per day depending on the motor. I learned fast to check parts before assembly. The “Philips” head screws are actually JA screws, look the same but require a different driver.
Nice work man!
Thank you man!
I've wanted to see a blaster build for so long and you're really doing the best one in UA-cam. Thanks for taking the time to document, film, edit and post your work. I hope your channel keeps growing.
Love the videos buddy always a happy day when a video drops. Though I feel like I'm stocking you lol , I found some banshee 2 into one pipes there like 1000 bucks and your probably the only dude on UA-cam who would buy them and test them and just do your thing 💪
Thanks for the love man! I have wanted to try one of those 2 into 1 pipes, just to see the difference/feel. I think Dynoport and Sheerer still offer them new for less than 1k.
I think it will hold it and withstand any and everything you throw at it
Time will tell
quality work again Mike
Dude you are definitely a real one. I love your commentary and I’m the same way when I put things together I’m talking shit to it the whole time lol. Great instructions and video. Also like how you add some funny remarks and things you think might help in the event of. Keep it up bro. I’ll be using these videos as reference to build my first blaster from the ground up.
Looks great Mike! I would have lost it , if I had to strip the engine again! You handled it well!Keep up the great work! Can’t wait to see the final product 👍👍👍
Great call on showing the trans bearing oops! Keeping it real!
Can’t wait to start my first full rebuild!
Unbelievable build man 😮😮 keep up the good work bruh 🦾🦾🦾
Love ur engine builds u make it so almost anyone could build one just by watching step by step.i love just watching and learning things I didn't know before.u are one of the best builders there is and to offer ur knowledge to everyone is amazing and ur a humble guy .ur quite possibly my favorite UA-camr! hope to see u with stupidfastjohn soon!
Had two of them back in the 90's. Perfect for the tight trails cause how short they are.
That china stator, drw case savor and oil fill cap are worth talking about. I just finished rebuilding my son's blaster with the hot rods crank kit, ken o conner head and counter balancer and weisco piston kit. Ken oconner has a really good build video but I like seeing your different methods. Good job Mike 👍
I totally appreciate you showing the roller bearing install, I would have to replace it or every time I started it I'd think about it coming apart! I couldn't sleep! LoL
I ❤ Blasters! I was always hoping to see one here.
Would like another 2 stroke build preferably custom build I enjoy watching your build videos so much
Mr. Sabo I really appreciate you attention to detail and all these builds. My 13yr old son and I enjoy these videos and he is itching for me to return from Korea to find a quad for him.
Keep up the good work
Thank you man!
Production quality of this video is the best yet. I can tell a lot of work went into making it enjoyable to watch. Always appreciate the help you give us all. Paying it forward is the way !
great job lad keep up the good work
Thank you man!
New subscriber because of the honesty and frustration during the bearing installation.
General rule of thumb on seals is that the lip of the seal goes toward what you are sealing. Love the video Mike!
Man perfect timing! I am sitting here bored and neeeded to see some bike stuff
Love watching engine builds I remember when I took a small engine class in high school and it was so much fun taking it apart and putting it together lots of work and you really need to pay attention to all the part
Hey Mike this is Matthew Cherry I'm from ellenville New York you inspired me so much when you're building your four-wheelers I watch every video of yours and I got expired on the Yamaha blaster that you built so I went out and I bought a Yamaha blaster and I'm building it from ground up
The waiting is killin me. I wanna see this thing done and rip....
Hello From Belgium Thx For this Videos .
It feels like a month😭 so glad the video is out, it's been eating me
Hope you enjoyed it man!
@@MichaelSabo The wait was well worth it bro!! keep up the good work 👊
if you raice the exhaust port 1.5mm it will make a major difference! also don't forget to enlarge the exhaust side holes in the piston by .5mm
we sould call you Michael Jackon! LOL you always beatin it!
Love to see how you get better as a builder every time I watch one of your new videos
i love watching build videos. not that im ever going to build a blaster.....but its nice to know lol
Ești cel mai tare mecanic 💪💪👍🇷🇴🇹🇩🙌
Ești cel mai tare abonat
Mulțumesc mult! 🙌🇹🇩💪
Generally speaking with the bearing seals the Channels are on the inside facing the bearing, this is for two reasons the flat outside gives a good support for the shaft that is entering the bearing as these seals are usually laced inside with tiny wires to aid strength, if you pull an old one apart you will see the wires inside for support, with the channel inside facing the bearing this acts like a small grease trap so the bearings remain lubricated as much as possible, I.E when you switch the engine off that seal will hold a small amount of oil inside so upon first start up the oil will be there straight away to lubricate the bearing off the bat, this is generally what I have learned and have applied to all my vehicle work, not saying it’s gospel and to be taken as sure but I haven’t had a premature bearing failure as of yet, hope this helps for the future and people reading this…… again always love the videos……. Smashing out the work and top quality videos too 👍
Had a similar issue on my ‘’83 RM250 with crank case. Case halves went together but crank was tight spinning. Ended up being crank web width was out of spec to wide. Had my crank builder redo it and was all good. Learned to double check everything before assembly. Now I will check bearings too. Awesome build Mike. Cheers.
Absolutely wonderful love watching the content keep up the wonderful great job that you're doing
Always love watching your content! We are surrounded by lying sacks of crap everywhere. I owned a gym for 10 yrs...couldn't believe the shit people bought into. God bless brother!
It's the truth man; the longer you're around, the more you recognize it. Thank you for the love on my video man!
Love the reality of your content bro! Shit happens but ya always find a way to win keep it up bro and look forward to the next content!
Thank you for the love man!
I really love your attention on spec you do a great job when you build bro...keep on keeping on...great video 🤟🏻🙏💯
The couple select scenes with the bearings is me 100% of time… even during a simple oil change😂😂
I totally agree with you're rant bro!! Think that's why I've watched you since you had 10 thousand subs. Also, you're very thorough.
Can't wait to see the finished product of this blaster I will be picking one up next week
Love the video as always. I'm only 15 min or so in and thought I'd comment after your honesty rant from the 3 bearing pins coming out. I went and bought a Lakota 3 or 4 days ago in Allentown PA. I was motivated from your Lakota videos. The facebook ad said the quad ran great. I made the 2.5 hour drive one way and the seller put on a show for me. He cranked the machine for at least 5 minutes killing the battery. He swore he was just riding the machine before I got there. I was able to get out of him that he only owned the machine for a couple weeks and replaced the side cover where the reverse lever shifter and sprocket are(rtv was everywhere) and bolts were missing. Then I discovered while I was there that it's not getting spark. I'm thinking when he replaced the cover some reverse sensor got installed wrong as the reverse light on the dash/handlebars won't go out no matter if it's in reverse, neutral, or 1st gear etc.. anyway... I've added up $110 so far in just bolts this guy or someone removed from this machine and didn't put back. He came down on the price and I ended up buying a Polaris Sport 400 from him too so... I was entertained with his antics and made it work. Maybe it's the people who are right in the middle are the most irritating, I love your stuff and I also enjoyed dealing with the guy who went hard with the dishonest ad! He was like the $1/hr plus a case of beer to fix your quad guy and you never get it back or if you do get it back it's apart in boxes and you're the $250/hr guy who builds your bike to perfection and doesn't charge for extra time if you make a mistake and have to fix it. Anyhow, keep up your good work, the good content, and the funny sound effects and humor WITH the attention to detail. Good stuff!!
