  • We take a ride on a couple of classic four wheelers! Check out how we ride these 34wheelers on the trails. I ride a 2005 Yamaha Banshee & Jack rides a 2000 Yamaha Blaster! We took them out on the ATV & UTV trails in Clark County, Wisconsin. 2 stroke ATVs are, in my opinion, more fun and exciting to ride than any of the other machines available today!
we wanted to add more content to this channel about rural life in central WI. We hope you enjoy it! Please comment, like and subscribe!

Soon he’ll be wanting to be banshee hunting, looks like he handles the blaster well (have a blaster for my daughter but has outgrown it already size-wise and has eyes on a banshee but they’re getting crazy money here)

I had a Honda 400EX when I was a teenager. This was like the first year they came out. My parents bought it for me.. I had the baddest and the fastest 4 wheeler out of all my friends and everyone I ever met on the trail except for the Banshee 350.
I only encountered the Banshee 350 like 7 times maybe? And every single Banshee owner let me ride theirs and we swapped quads and I was always blown away by the Banshee. The Banshee was always known as the King of the 4 wheelers back then and it was everyone's dream 4 wheeler.. I still loved my 400EX though.. It was a beast of an ATV back then. I had a subscription to the ATV magazine every year so I kept up with all the 4 wheeler news.

Man this brought back a lot of memories. I was born in Pittsville and spent a lot of time on those trials in the mid to late 90's. No side by sides then and 2 strokes ruled the roost. I had a 1990 Blaster that I made the exact same trip with from City Point to Black River Falls. I remember some really cool water crossings, being confused by the trail signs and a sense of adventure I have not experienced in decades. Wisconsin is a beautiful and unique state. Thanks for bringing back some great memories! Great video!

If the blaster is bored .10 over, it's now 196cc, not a 210. If it's bored to the absolute max of .90 over (not advisable), it comes out to 209cc. Now .30 over with a 3mm stroker crank will be 210cc.

I live in the Upper Peninsula, and I ride my local trails regularly. It is definitely rare to see sport quads these days, and I can definitely understand why, it's just hard to beat the versatility of a modern 4x4. Generally speaking they're much more comfortable to ride, have cargo racks, better ground clearance, usually as good or better fuel economy and better reliability. And if you want sport quad like speed, you could go with a medium to big bore v-twin, or even one of the single cylinder 700-750's, such as the Yamaha Grizzly or Suzuki King Quad.
Not to mention things like EPS and better charging systems to handle a winch, hand warmers, cigarette charging ports etc etc..
And when you consider the usability of a 4x4, having the ability to use for work, such as plowing in the winter, pull behind mower attachments etc, these are some of the main reasons why I believe sport quads are a dying breed.
With all that said, there is definitely still a place for sport quads, but the market just isn't what it once was for them. Personally, I would like to have a Raptor 700R, and maybe some day I'll get one. Several years back I had a 2005 Raptor 660R and I had a lot fun with that thing. Those Blasters are good lil quads too, pretty reliable, and having that sixth gear for higher speed trails, makes them much less buzzy when driving for extended periods of time, plus the added fuel economy being able to cruise in lower RPM.. I had a 2006 Blaster back in the day and wouldn't have a problem picking up another if the right deal popped up.
My 10yo son recently started out on a Honda Recon 250, but a blaster would likely be ideal for him in a couple more years.

Yeah I hear you but there's nothing like riding a 2 stroke quad. Kind of like the old musclcars of the 60s everything now is far superior but the old stuff is still what turns heads. When we ride our 2 stroke 3 wheelers that's what really gets the attention. We've ridden in the UP land o lakes, watersmeet, Bruce crossing.
