Band Maid has been together for ten years. All five members are equal in the band with no one taking center stage. They have no ego between them. Check out their later stuff when they started writing their own songs. I think you will be more impressed.
A thing about the maid outfits, C & R: as Fans and Maidiacs know, Miku -- the 2nd guitarist, lyricist, founder and who worked at a maid cafe -- wanted to show that everyday working "Kawaii" girls dressed as maids in high heels while having fun and smiling could rock as hard as any guy band sweating it up in their hip, poor tortured artists "outfits"... and by showing that contrast (the Gap), it would generate interest, which it so successfully has done! It also represents Woman Power (Equality), which is an important theme with the Maids. Now they show up as Maids for all band business and interviews, etc. and have created a long-lasting, unmistakable, visual band brand. Very cleaver, Miku. Your diabolical plan for world domination is working, Po! Of course, none of this would work if their music and stage performance wasn't at such a remarkably high level. Band-Maid is considered by many of their fans and Maidiacs to be the best hard rock band in the world - maid outfits and all!
You are quite wrong. Don't give BabyMetal so much credit. BAND-MAID has always been in French Maid Uniforms. Founder Miku worked in a Maid Cafe years before BabyMetal. That's where she got the idea to form the band. She found lead guitarist, Kanami, through her online videos. Kanami didn't balk at the idea of playing dressed as a maid. She had done that for the talent competition during the annual Cultural Festival in High School. BabyMetal's outfits are Loligoth, one of the many Japanese subculture styles. BAND-MAID never took anything from BabyMetal. BabyMetal was always a label created vehilcle for SuMetal. BAND-MAID formed organically on their own. MISA and Akane knew each other from the Tokyo School of Music. Kanami had worked with them on a previous project. Miku dropped back to backing vocals and had Kanami teacher her guitar after they found lead vocalist, Saiki, working at the same agency as they were. And this is their very first Music Video from years ago. Check out some of their newer stuff, especially the Official LIVE videos. That's where they really shine! However, if you feel their "Juice" comes from their instrumentals, check out 'From Now On'. Ore, better still, if you're not afraid to risk a Chinese site, go on Bilibili and check out, 'Without Holding Back' to see the real prowess of their musicianship. But you're wrong about Saiki taking a front position. This is without doubt the most balanced band in the world. and probably the best! They have been going strong for 10 years and have well over 120 songs to their credits and growing. You guys are late to the game and have a lot of catching up to do . They are genreless. By that I mean they are a genre unto themselves. They shapeshift effortlessly through Power Pop, Rock, Punk, Funk, Classical, Traditional, Metal and Jazz. Often within a single song. Dive Deep into the Pigeon Hole and you will be rewarded every time! The best song to blow you away? Most people are intoduced to BAND-MAID through 'Domination' LIVE. However I'm going to go out on a limb here and say 'Real Existence' LIVE will blow you away. It makes 'Domination' LIVE seem a little tame by comparison. and the sound's a bit better as well.
What Band-Maid and BabyMetal have in common? Their both from Japan. Other than that nothing else. Band-Maid- maids, write their own songs and lyrics and perform them.
This was their first music video, only a couple years after they formed and when the studio had writers for all their songs. A couple years after this, they were finally allowed to write their own songs. Kanami guitarist is lead composer and Miku founder, second vocals, rhythm guitar is main lyricist. All have improved as musicians, this is now their 10th anniversary. Listen to something live after 2017-2018, or try their new stuff which is so much more complex. Play Freedom Domination live are frequent starting places, the dual video of Manners Black Hole will introduce where they were in 2020.
Lots of interesting comments. This band is now in their 10TH year, without a personnel change. Also this was early in their career, and not written by the band. Since then they have put out about 80 + songs, all self written. My personal favorite song is Blooming. A good way to see their range is a 2 song in one video of Manners, and Black Hole.
In my humble opinion Babymetal. Is a Kiddie song and dance act. That performs in front of world class metal musicians. I don't know what the adulation and fascination is with babymetal. Sorry to me it is borderline creepy. Because when they first started they were what. Between the ages of like 8 and 13 ?
@@chuckvelten5337 Babymetal is an acquired taste and definitely not for everyone. However, I feel the need to point out that your particular criticism of them and their fandom hasn't been true for a very long time now (with the sole exception of the fact that they perform in front of world-class musicians). At their very beginning, they were 12-13 years old, but didn't really come to anyone's attention until they were in their mid teens, and weren't really known outside of Japan until they were in their mid-to-late teens and early adulthood. Most fans' experience of them as young kids is through watching old videos.
The Maid outfit's arose because the band founder, Miku (rhythm guitar) worked in Maid cafes and thought the gap (contrast) between a maid aesthetic and hard rock would be cool.
😂 I had to come back for the final question “What is the best song that will blow us away?” 😂 “From Now On,” official music video “Puzzle,” official live video “Blooming,” official music video “Real Existence,” official live video “Secret my lips,” Band-Maiko version “Don’t you tell ME,” official live video “Moratorium,” official live video “Onset,” official live video “Domination,” official live video “Play,” official live video “Freedom,” official live video Just as a brief introduction. I’d put any of these compositions and performances against anything released in pop or rock over the last thirty years
Start here: DOMINATION (live) - ua-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/v-deo.html Then try any of the other suggestions offered. Evaluating BAND-MAID bass on THRILL is like evaluating the Beatles based on hearing She Loves You only.
First of all, Babymetal was still an up a coming band when Band Maid formed. Secondly bands having a theme is very common among Japanese bands. It's a cultural thing. I'm not trying to flame or anything. Just trying to give you guys a little info if you're going to cover Japanese bands. Also, "it's hard to find rocker girls in Japan"? Dude, you have no clue. You're going to have to get past your per-conceived ideas about girl bands and gimmicks you have picked up from western music. The Japanese music scene is a whole different animal created by a very different culture.

Band-Maid playing 14 sold out shows in the US 2 years consecutive including this one. Playing at big arenas in Japan. While being rickstars and masterfull musicians and song writes. Singer leaving the band?, taking cue from who? Damn
The fancam video documenting Band-Maid's performance at the Welcome To Rockville festival has hit 100k views in just two months without any signs of slowing down. Destined for 1 million+ views eventually. They had to repair the stage after Band-Maid's show because they tore it up!
"It is hard to find like, rocker girls in japanese music" You are kidding, aren't you?😮 What about bands like Show-Ya, Nemophila, Aldious, Gacharic Spin, Mary's Blood, Trident, Doll$Boxx, Lovebites, Tricot, Bridear, Lonesome_Blue, Destrose, etc, etc, etc... Not to mention all the mixed bands fronted by a female singer or guitarist.👍😉
Sure, it’s a bit generic but very, very well done. And, man, have the Maids progressed since these early days!!! After all, Zeppelin started with “Good Times, Bad Times” and Rush with “Finding My Way” & “Working Man”, and Band-Maid has made a similar evolution to these giants. They have grown to be, imho, the most exciting rock band on planet Earth 🌍. Don’t believe me. Check out some of their recent work; - “No God” - official live video - “Influencer” - official MV - “Manners / Black Hole” - official live video And find a lyric video for - “Corallium” - “Giovanni” - instrumental version I’ll think you’ll be amazed and delighted and have another 100+ songs of excellence to discover. Take care and enjoy the journey down the Pigeon hole!! 😂🤘🏼🔥🎸🥁🎤🎼😎✌🏼
Thrill is a great song, but was basically the start of their newer sound. Definitely check out their later stuff. Any live video sounds great (Domination or Play are popular choices), and if you want an MV: Blooming is one of my favorites.
Welcome aboard, Chase & Remmington. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 178 million YT views plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (125 songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: ua-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/v-deo.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits like Sense, Glory and Unleash (from their own Anime MV (series?)): ua-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/v-deo.html) And many songs are represented with 50 well produced music videos. ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts: ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” ua-cam.com/video/nAdWnIRjGak/v-deo.html Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (February 14, 2020) “Domination” ua-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/v-deo.html ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” ua-cam.com/video/-qQnKILR5u0/v-deo.html Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD. “P and D²” 30+ Photo Collage videos at www.youtube.com/@PinD2/videos And some of the better quality fan videos are excellent. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at an intimate venue: Shot by Pat McKee from their 2023 US tour concert in Detroit: ua-cam.com/video/DgxU-MVjta0/v-deo.html See the Maids 2023 Rockville Festival’s short-set perfection performance: ua-cam.com/video/vjZkNeoGmhc/v-deo.html If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid Members: Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 29 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 31 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 31 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 32 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 30 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. Their music, their sound, each of the Maids, and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE!
Thanks for your reaction. For great stops , starts and stabs try Real Existence. Official Live is usually best with this band though there are some MVs that are flat out gems. Hope you dive deeper with these ladies. Best rock band to come along for me in decades.
Y’all may know a lot about Japanese bands, but you don’t know this band. Miku came up with the idea for the band and she put it together not some record execs. Try ANY official live performance and you will discover there isn’t any band like this one . The ladies of Baby Metal aren’t musicians. Band Maid now has written over 80 songs and their live versions are so good due to, for a few years, playing over 100 shows a year. I give y’all a pass because you chose a old song that they didn’t write and it wasn’t live. For MV try blooming , Dice or Warning.
"It's hard to find rocker girls in Japanese music." Really? What about NEMOPHILA, LOVEBITES, TRIDENT, ALDIOUS, GACHARIC SPIN, CYNTIA, BRIDEAR, MARY'S BLOOD, HANABIE, SHOW YA, DOLL$BOX, FATE GEAR, ARK ROYAL, HAGANE, LOVENDOR, etc. Arigatou! 🤘🤘
you are correct about japanese translations to english having more syllables. quite a few one syllable english words are two or three in japanese. for example 'I' in japanese is watashi. and 'WE' is bokura. ' PROMISE' is yakusoku - 4 syllables. it's pretty complicated and a lot of sentences start with the noun which is rare in english. but you get used to it and will grow to like it the more you hear it. BAND MAID has come a long way in their 10 year history.
Band Maid is awesome... now its time to take it to another level and check them out Live....its really incredible how they elevate their game in the Live environment.. I would put the quality of their live performances on par or even better in some cases with bands like Rush, ZZ Top ,early Journey etc... Most people fire up Domination Live as a starting point but pretty much any live performance will get the point across....
That was an interesting reaction. Many salient observations, though most are wildly out of date now, as this is a song from 2015. They were essentially still a brand new band here. They weren't even allowed to write their own songs, yet. Though, they did work closely with the writers, even if they weren't credited. Maybe jump ahead a few years and react to a more recent song, such as the 'Warning' music video, or 'Domination' live. Live performances will allow to see just how good this band truly is. Thanks for checking out BAND-MAID. Cheers.
Watching Thrill is like watching Usain Bolt take his first steps as a baby. Band-Maid is on a whole nother level now. Check out Blooming, Puzzle live or For now on (instrumental). They have been pushing the bounds of pop punk hard rock into straight up technical progressive. the whole album Unseen World is a high energy musical masterpiece. I look forward to more Band-Maid reactions!
If there is one Band-Maid video to watch that floors people, it's Domination Live because that video shows the full scope of what the band brings musically to an audience.
In the early years they were struggling with the label to create their own songs, and the record label were putting other people to make their music, those years were not wasted since they learned how to compose and produce what they want. "Alone" is the first song that the label approve to be recorded for and album that is created by Band Maid. The language is in practical use for the flow of the song, as you said some times they need less syllables to make the phrased clean and in the context of the song, so the mix of Japanese and English is in a solution to create something interesting, Miku (Rhythmic guitar, lyricist and founder of the band) learned to use it in some tricky ways to enhance the meaning of the songs.
Thx for the reaction. "Thrill" is like "Love Me Do" by the Beatles. To understand this band's brilliance is going to take many more (and later) songs. :)
I recommend you try a live performance next. The go to song would be Domination from the World Domination Tour in 2020. This hi lights their energy and stage presence. It also shows how much fun they have while performing. My 2nd favourite band (LZ being #1) of all time. I saw them in Detroit on May 24th. They did not disappoint. FYI- this song is like listening to an early Beatles song circa 1963. Really good , but nowhere near the level of their 1968/69 performances
Try Dice or Blooming. If they don't blow you away then nothing will. Those two songs I really like the MVs for ut band-maid is usually a band that you want to watch official live videos for.
11:20 Um.... Nope! Not that you're wrong in general , as this videos viral success 8 years ago in particular saved the band from being dissolved (and the co-lead singers being plucked by mgmt. to form an idol duet to be named Dance-Maid ) This same line up of 4 God Tier musicians and 1 God Tier Pigeon/Entetainer/Singer-Songwriter, are currently in the process of celebrating their 10 Year Anniversary Tour on the road together. It's their dedication to their craft, their fans and to each other, that created an environment where 10 years later the whole is Exponentially greater than the sum of its parts. With a Song Catalog that runs 125ish or so songs deep, it's a pity when reaction channels open with this song in particular from 8 years ago from the band's relative infancy and presume to think they're equipped to understand and comment on the what Band-Maid's sound and capabilities are. It's the equivalent of listening to U2's "Sunday Bloody Sunday" or Radiohead's "Creep" and then presuming understand and remark on the nature and capabilities of those band's, based on an early single release. All 3 high quality songs that nowhere near encapsulates the nature, talent or capabilities of their respective bands. I would recommend skipping the Band-Maid Reactor's starter pack of Domination Live, Freedom Live, Onset Live, ect.... And go straight to Puzzle Live Tokyo Garden Theatre 23 or Gion Cho MV [Band-Maiko] or From Now On MV (instrumental) or No God Live TGT 23
I second this. Domination live is good and all but what they have done since is better. Puzzle live has superior instrument mixing than all of their other live recordings.
Considering how many reactions have been done to them, I'm giving you kudos right off the bat for hitting on a couple of things, like the language stuff. Yes, Miku writes the lyrics often to combine two Japanese syllables into one to fit the song. They even did an April Fool's version of themselves called Band Maiko where she re-writes the songs into Kyoto dialect, and they all wear beautiful kimonos. This song (Thill) rocks, but it's not representative of how good they are now. They've improved so much every year since this, that you're NOT GOING TO BELIEVE how good they are now. You'll also need more than one more song to even get a feel for their style - because they are in fact their own genre, and can and do play everything. I usually say give it ten songs, and you'll have half an idea of how good they are. You'll see, if you choose to stick with them and I hope you do. I really don't want to pick that "one song" that will impress you, because I'd have to ask you some questions first. Look at the (2023 version) Official Live of No God for a song that will take you on a wild ride and fully expose the bass player (MISA's) prowess. To see their lead guitar in action go for their instrumental From Now On (the MV), and for fun songs that are still full of music intricacy or interesting structure, go for their Blooming MV, 2023 version of their official live for Puzzle. That said they have multiple songs that literally don't sound like ANY of their other songs - like the Influencer MV. Hope you take a plunge down the Band-Maid pigeon hole - their musicianship is crazy good (think Thrill times 100), they are super fun and they absolutely live to perform live. They are that good.
Maidiacs Incoming 🎉 You have just won the rock & roll lottery 💰 🎸 (“Clunky” for Japanese lyrics could be described as “percussive”) Band-Maid, if you choose to pursue their music? If you like hard rock? You will be greatly rewarded with joy, and the Maids will train you to become an even better listener of music. You’ll find biographies in the comments, and probably some seemingly over the top compliments of them. These aren’t exaggerations. Band-Maid, in my opinion, is one of the most important musical artists to come along in a generation. They have, arguably, a worldwide top ten bassist and drummer. And arguably, a top five composer and arranger in lead guitarist Kanami Töno. “Thrill” is the song that saved the band. However, it’s comparable with “Please Please Me” is to the Beatles. Over the past ten years, the Maids have essentially created their own genre. With respect to your personal musical tastes? Please consider: If you like GNR or Mötley Crüe? Review “DICE,” official music video If you’re more Metallica? Check out “Rinne/Reincarnation,” official music video If you want to see the Maids in their element in front of thousands? “Domination,” official music video If you think their just another Jrock girl’s group? Then it’s “From Now On,” official music video. A hard rock instrumental. No words. No smiles. Just brilliance. My personal favorite today is “Blooming,” official music video. If you want to trust a 56 year old musician who’s been to more concerts than I can remember Welcome to the world of Band-Maid!
Chase & Remmington -- I hope you read the viewers comments to clear up a lot of misunderstanding, which is understandable for new reactors to Band-Maid. Thx!
This was Band-Maid's first big UA-cam hit. They have compiled a 120+ genre-bending song catalog since then. They are especially great live. If you want a sampler of their talent, check out their LIVE video of Manners/Black Hole. This was taken from their live show they streamed to an empty house during the pandemic.
Thrill is catchy but among their earliest and simplest songs but doesn't reflect their own writing. Check out *Domination LIVE.* The LIVE video shows where they really shine. They write songs with an audience in mind. Domination is just as catchy as this pop-rock song is, but far more instrumentally dense without turning into heavy metal. It's rock with clear metal tones and elements. This band is the most diverse rock band in music today. Best band this short century. Keep listening and you'll hear it.
Fortunately Maidiacs are generally a laid back bunch and will offer kind words on a first effort like this one. Try Domination live, Manners MV, Flying High (no mv) or Choose Me MV.
Good Evening, I am posting up part one of an information file for you. I have to post in multiple parts to bypass the algorithm. Band Maid Is; (In order of joining band) Name/Age: Nickname: Position: Miku Kobato Small Pigeon/ Band Founder, Secondary Lead Vocalist, Rhythm Guitarist, Main Lyricist, Age: 31 Koba/Kuruppo/ Backing Vocals, Backing Tracks, Arrangements 10/21/91 Cluppo Kanami Tono Princess/ Lead Guitarist, Primary Composer, Backing Vocals, Keyboards, Backing Tracks Age: 31 Kanamincho/ Backing Vocals on Backing Tracks, Arrangements 9/28/91 Mincho Akane Hirose Gorilla/ Drums, Percussion, Backing Vocals on Backing Tracks, Backing Tracks, Age: 32 Ah-Chan Arrangements 12/14/90 MISA Barefoot Assassin/ 5 String Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals on Backing Tracks, Backing Tracks Age: 30 MISA-MISA-MISA Arrangements 10/15/92 Saiki Atsumi Ice Queen/ Primary Lead Vocalist, Backing Vocals, Lyricist, Backing Vocals on Backing Age: 29 Sai-Chan/ Tracks, Backing tracks, Arrangements 2/8/94 Sensei (Teacher) Now for your further edification, these young Ladies have been around since 2013 and are currently touring for their 10th anniversary which will culminate at Yokohama Arena this November. For their BEST Song? With a discography of OVER 120 songs, most of them are their BEST songs. Even many of the ones from their earlier releases that they themselves did NOT write. But any of the songs they HAVE written? They are almost guaranteed to be FIRE. For me, personally, if I am in a Punk Rock mood, "Freezer", which doesn't have a MV, but IS available on their channel under the Releases tab on their New Beginning Mini Album. The song was NOT written by them but they did help with the arrangement of it, and it reminds me of punk rock I used to listen to back in the 1980's. Looking for more HARDER Rock? "Puzzle" from their Just Bring It album which just had a new Official Live Video released, which was recorded this January from their concert at the Tokyo Gardens Theater. If you want to experience Groove and Speed Metal all in one? They have a double feature on their Channel, "Manners - Black Hole", two songs that show you the depth of their talent and skills. And all written, performed and arranged by the 5 young Ladies on the stage. Do you want to hear the first song their record company accepted for publication? "Alone" MV on their channel, how about the OLDEST song they have written? "YOLO" was written from a track the lead guitarist had been working on from before Band-Maid was even formed. And the "B-sides" of YOLO are in a class by themselves as well, that many of us fans feel should be released on regular album and performed much more often than they are. These 5 young Ladies, have gathered fans ranging in age from 9 years old (My niece), up to men and women in their 80's (My Mother for one) and every age in between. And they consistently continue to publish good music, and are what I personally consider to be the BEST Currently Touring Live Band. If you would like the remainder of the information file, just post a reply to this comment, and I will post it up.
@@stimproid Thankee, here the rest of the main file. Band Maid was started in 2013 by Miku Kobato. At the time she had just left the Idol Group, Lil Cumin and she didn't like the type of music she had been performing. She approached her management agency with the idea of making an actual band playing rock music but dressed as maids. She had worked in a Maid Cafe and thought the image of maids playing rockin music would create what she called "The Gap" between what you see and what you hear. The Management company was like Ok, go ahead. Miku then looked around and found Kanami a singer/songwriter who was posting her own videos on the internet. Miku had her agency contact her and Kanami thought the idea was cool and agreed to join. Miku then asked if Kanami knew a drummer who might be interested. Kanami had worked with Akane in the past and there is 2 versions of this, the first is, Kanami literally walked over to Akane's apartment and asked her, the second is Kanami called Akane and asked her. (Akane has said in 2 different interviews that 1: Kanami called her and asked if she could come over and 2: in a second interview Kanami just came over) Akane was actually hesitant as she had worked in an "All Girl Group" before and didn't enjoy it as it wasn't the type of music she wanted to play. After hearing a Demo, Akane was like ok, but was still slightly hesitant because of the "Maid Outfits", but she agreed to give it a try. Akane was asked if she knew a bass player and she had gone to Tokyo School of Music with MISA and had worked a couple of jobs with her. So Misa was contacted and after she heard a demo she was like I like the music, but she also was hesitant about the "Maid Outfits", but she relented and joined in as she really wanted to play the kind of music she heard in the demo. The 3 of them then "Auditioned" for the record company and passed the audition. Now we have the "Core" members. The 4 members worked out some songs provided for them by the record company, and a setlist and they had performed 3 times with just Miku on main vocals. Miku after those performances felt that her voice wasn't powerful enough to really perform the songs she wanted. So she approached her management company again and asked if they had any singers who weren't in other projects. They then auditioned several singers. Miku heard Saiki rehearsing in a room across the hall and asked if she could be auditioned, the record company then had Saiki audition. Saiki was signed to the same management company and had done some work as a backup singer and dancer and was asked if she would be interested in auditioning for this new group which currently had 4 members and she would be the fifth. She had been a member of a group with 8 other people as a backup singer and dancer, and HATED it. So she listened to the demo and thought "Cool" because she liked the music. Now we come to the tricky part. Miku KNEW that if Saiki was told about the "Maid Outfits" she would say NO WAY!, so they didn't tell her. They told her they would have "Cool/cute Clothes"(I've read it translated either way), and she never met Miku until a few days before they had a contracted performance. She wasn't told about the "Maid Outfits" until the day before the performance, and she had considered backing out, but she had signed the contract. (Saiki also had NEVER met Miku until then as well) So the Ladies, went and did the performance and Saiki really, REALLY liked the crowds reaction and the music they were performing. She DIDN'T like the apron she wore so it got ditched after the first performance. And you now have the beginnings of the BEST LIVE HARD ROCK BAND in the WORLD! ALL HAIL BAND MAID!!!!! Now that we have the Full band, it was felt that there needed to be a second guitar. Saiki was like, "Not Me, No Way." So Miku said, "I'll do it.", at first that was literally all she did, was hold the guitar and mime playing it, until Akane said, if you are going to hold it, you NEED to learn to play it. And Miku said, "Ok.", and Kanami started to teach Miku how to play. The Ladies released their first album in 2014 "Maid in Japan" which failed to chart, but later after "Thrill" it was reissued and charted to #26 in Japan.
Then in 2015 they released "New Beginning" On New Beginning was the song that changed Band Maid's entire existence. "Thrill"... The band was getting ready to release their first music video and the choice was between "Love, Passion, Matador" and "Thrill" and the ladies chose Thrill. (Little known fact, Miku helped with the lyrics on Thrill but did not get credited) This became the seminal moment of Band Maid. Because their second album charted at #64, the record company was seriously considering disbanding the Ladies and switching them to other projects. (In fact they had Kanami and Akane work with Mochi to Cheese thinking that when Band Maid cratered they could use them in another band. MISA had also just started working with Mochi to Cheese as well). However about 6 months after the video's release, a Facebook page "JRock Radio" posted the video to their timeline. And the video went viral. Having over a million views in just a few short weeks. The Ladies Twitter page got so many hits they thought their page had been hacked. Their UA-cam channel also started getting more and more subscribers and views to Thrill. Now the ladies knew where their fans wanted them to go. Harder Rock, less pop. And history was Maid.
I think these chumps were trying to get as many things wrong as possible……and they did really well achieving that goal. Talking more than listening as usual…..
Love Babymetal, but this is Band-Maid's own thing. At the time Band-Maid came out, Babymetal was basically just starting to become locally known, but they wouldn't hit real stardom for another year or so. The maid costumes are a callback to Miku's (second vocalist, red rose, founder) days working in a maid cafe.
There's a Japanese fan t-shinji who has translated a large number of song lyrics, magazine interviews, instagram posts, what have you. He's written some rather detailed articles on reddit talking about how Miku writes lyrics to deal with some of the issues you noted. He feels she is an outstanding lyricist and poet, who references ancient poetry, philosophy, folklore, current books, and her own thinking. This particular song, however, is from their early days and she didn't write the lyrics for it (mostly). It's the first video they released and it didn't do well until it found it's way onto a J-rock Facebook page several months later and went viral. It saved the band. They're still kicking and celebrating their tenth anniversary. How did your predictions work out? The more you listen to them the less you'll refer to Babymetal (who are great but a different thing). They have several albums of straightforward rock. One of their recent live recordings from Tokyo Garden Theater earlier this year is a recent recording of a song from 2017 called *"Puzzle."* Starting with their 2021 album *"Unseen World"* they have been a bit more progressive. There is a two-fer "live streaming" of two of the songs from that album, *"Manners"* and *"Black Hole."* *"Manners"* is rock and roll similar in tone to *"Thrill"* but much more sophisticated, and *"Black Hole"* is a proggy journey to oblivion in the center of a black hole. That might be a metaphor for something, I dunno, but the pair of songs will give you an idea of where they are today. Their current EP is *"Unleash"* which opens with an instrumental *"from now on"* which you might enjoy. There is also a video for *"Unleash!!!!!"* which is anime style, and *"Influencer"* which is about people who live their lives on social media. There are some other tracks, true to Band-Maid form, which might be the stronger tracks on the album, depending on who you're talking to. There seems to be a lot of fans of *"I'll"* and *"Hate?"* which is not as ambiguous as the title implies. They will be on tour in the U.S. in August, in Chicago for Lollapalooza, then Minneapolis, Denver, Salt Lake City, Portland, Spokane, Sacramento, Anaheim, and Mexico City. They are an outstanding performing band.
Thank you for your subjective, though somewhat knowledgeable, reaction. Much appreciated. I hope you consider checking out BAND-MAID's later music that they have written themselves. If you are okay with a bit of progressive, try GIOVANNI.
Definitely try them again but go for something newer. You seem to be hung up on the lyrics/language so maybe try an instrumental like "From Now On." If you continue you will see why they are more commonly mentioned with the likes of Zeplin and Rush than Babymetal.
It's interesting, so much talking from a quite arrogant "Mr. Know-it-all" feeling and so much wrong about this band. This was their first ever mv from 9 years ago and you have absolutely NO idea how far this band has come. And please, Band-Maid has absolutely no reason to take any elements from Babymetal because they are thier own unique thing, they are Band-Maid!
AAAH!Bananas!=Gorilla!!!!!And the Bananas is gone! Joke aside ,my recomendation is Domination Live or blooming MV and if you want be shocked play "From now on"
Since I watch quite a lot of reaction videos I do enjoy reactions that are somewhat different, such as this one. You're quite off the mark on a few things, though. For example: "It is hard to find rocker girls in Japanese music." That is really funny! In the last year or two my listening habits have shifted to something like 80% Japanese "rocker girls". They're just SO good! And not hard to find at all: there's absolutely NO shortage of them and of their amazing talents. Interesting what you said about Saiki, the lead singer. I totally agree that with her voice and presence she absolutely could have her own career, away from the Maids. I LOVE her voice. But hey, listen to the Maids again! Listen to Misa's bass. Listen to Kanami's guitar (and compositions). Listen to Akane's drums. Get to understand Miku's personality and pivotal role in making Band-Maid what it is and bringing them all this far. Band-Maid is so very pleasurable to listen to not only because of their outstanding compositions and musicianship, but also because they have a very beautiful story together and a very real friendship. I believe they all are very aware that they have created something very special (we Maidiacs certainly are!). Of course every human being has their faults and not so nice parts, but to me the Maids are just beautiful through and through: the compositions, their playing, the music, their friendship, their antics. Long live Band-Maid! And pleeeaase, do come to Europe again! I haven't had the privilege of seeing you in concert yet, and hearing you Maids (and two or more other Japanese "rocker girl" bands) live is high up on my must-do list. By the way, one of my favorite Band-Maid songs is "From Now On", an instrumental. Yes, Saiki is fantastic, but so are Misa, Kanami, Akane and Miku...
0:34 here we go again. How you go about it so quickly is amazing 🤦🏻♂️. Anyway this is their oldest MV from 8 years ago. Dicover away in their channel. Let me recommend Puzzle Live. Oh and Band-Maid does not strike your channel if reacting to their official release content. So pausing not required if don't want to.
You need to listen to one of the songs that they actually wrote and played vs this one that was written for them when they were not given the freedom to do their own music. Then I think you would be more impressed. You should also try a live version if you want a more gripping experience.
"It's hard to find rocker girls in Japan." Probably more there than the rest of the world combined. You guys can't even do a miniscule amount of research.
On the description: "Our first reaction to the band "Band-Main", it doesn't disappoint!" Ok... who's Band-MAIN?? 🤣 ps: hope you see my comment & quickly change it
This is an important video in that it saved the band early in the early years. They are a live band... you need to check out something from their new album they write everything themselves now. and almost always the live version is better! good reaction but you need to dig a little deeper!
Hard to find to rocker girls in Japan? You couldn’t be more wrong! Music education is compulsory in Japan, and lots of women get into music, and the music industry in Japan is the 2nd largest in the world (after America). Want some female rockers from Japan? Lovebites. Nemophila. Hanabie. Band-Maid. Gacharic Spin. Trident. All are all-female bands that are active right now. Then you have bands like Maximum the Hormone, Sokoninaru, Lightbringer, Asterism, and Black Morpheus that feature one or more female musicians. And these are just bands a few currently active bands that have broken into international popularity. There are countless more that remain unknown outside of Japan, and even more that have had their time and are now in retirement. Don’t be so quick to talk about what you don’t know
Is it me or western reaction channels (particularly American) only know Babymetal when it comes to Japanese music? It’s like there wasn’t any music in Japan before Babymetal 🤷🏻♂️
It's worse than that, half the time when I play a video by ANY Asian band at work somebody goes, "Ah, playin' some K-Pop, huh?" even if it's Maximum the Hormone or Elephant Gym.
As a western citizen and music fan, it’s been my experience that getting outside the musical algorithm bubble requires individual effort. Combined with the fact that modern music (in the USA at least) over the past two decades+ absolutely blows and most people have given up and just listen to what they already know
BM blow the crap outa babymetal lol in every aspect. And I WISH idiotic fans would stop recommending thrill as a first song- its an ancient C tier BM song- they have infinitley better songs and songs way more suited for a first listen to give a real idea of who they are and how they have played for most of their careers. Thrill is more like a song to show how they started out! Their outfits are NOT a gimmick - its an image- to contrast the heaviness with cuteness- the gap between perception and reality - and was the founders idea. BTW there are TONS of hard rock and metal girl bands in Japan- and half of them are better than most western rock bands lol. BM have had the same line up since they formed over 10 yr ago- they are amazing musicians and write their own stuff except in the early albums like this one thrill is on. they are not in any way a gimmic or studio band like baby metal are. They are also not metal at all- tho some tracks are nearly as heavy and have metal influence. they are hard rock!
If you’d like to get heavier, check out Lovebites, a Japanese female power metal band. Shadowmaker live at Zepp Diver City Tokyo is a good place to start.
Guys I gave you my sub after your more recent Jinjer reaction. But I almost wanted to take it back while trying to get through this Band-Maid reaction. Firstly this was their very first break-out video from many years ago. This group of 30 ish year old women are phenomenal writers and musicians who have a catalog of well over 100 songs. You are also Very wrong about the Japanese rock and metal scene and for god’s sake never compare any of the other amazing rock and metal bands to Baby Metal. For Band-Maid many of us prefer their Official Live Videos to their OMVS because we want to see them live and also have amazing audio. I recommend the live video for “Manners/ Black Hole” for a sort of a-z look at the variety of their songs. They also have several instrumental songs that are amazing. Now, to give you more context of Japanese rock and metal and specifically just a few of the other incredible all female bands I would recommend Nemophila, starting with “Dissension”, any track from Lovebites and any track by Gacharic Spin. Your welcome, enjoy!
Watch BAND-MAID live songs Freedom, Domination, Thrill, Play, On Set, Dice.... Guys, its time to check another TOP Japanese Rock/Metal Band.. LOVEBITES(all female HeavyMetal) new songs MV Judgement Day, Stand And Deliver... NEMOPHILA(all female RockMetal) new songs Night Flight, Rise, Seize The Fate, Revive, Dissension, Raitei... HANABIE(all female Metal) songs We Love Sweets, Patdon Me, TOUSOU(Run Away), NEET GAME.. ASTERISM(female guitarist Metal) songs Dawn, Rising Moon, Church, Blaze....
I almost think its babymetal fans going around introducing band-maid with thrill to try and sabotage them lol. And even if YOU reading this think thrill is great- you SHOULD be damn aware that you are in a minority of fans who would put in their top 20 or even top 50 band-maid songs. Any time ive seen people do tier lists thrill is in C or even D.
1st time viewer. you guys are fun, however analyzing band maid using thrill is like analyzing DEVO using Whip it you should check out Manners Blackhole or Domination Live for a better grasp of the band style. Also, comparing any Japanese act to Babymetal is a bad idea since not just the fans hate it but most acts themselves are not too fond of the comparison (they aren't really that innovative by Japans music industry standards) and that in turn makes fans feel justified in being assholes
You are definitely very, very wrong in your assessments. I think you guys need to know more about Band Maid. Especially when making comparisons with Babymetal. They are two totally different types of music, not even clothes have anything to do with it. And no, they are not a jam band!
I enjoyed your reaction to Band Maid and hope this is just the start, but you got a lot wrong about this band, who they are in relation to the Japanese music scene and the comparison to Babymetal was terrible, but that is also what I liked about your reaction, could completely tell you guys were completely blind going into this reaction lol... Did you know that all the lyrics, and music that is arranged is done within the five members of the band. No higher authority is in charge of Band Maid, lol...
Did you say hard to find Japanese female bands? Where have you been looking? Lovebites Mary's Blood Aldious Bridear Doll$boxx Nemophila Hanabie Show-Ya (OG...since last century) Destrose (disbanded) ...and a whole bunch more. Right now your not getting a thumbs up or down. No sub here.
Welp you guys are 2 for 2..... You've successfully pissed off the majority of The Warning Army, and now Maidiacs, which both I'm proudly a part of. Can't wait for the backlash when you fuck up Ghost Love Score and royally piss off The Nightwish Army. Can't wait to see you make it 3 for 3
@@ChaseAndRemmingtonMusic haha, funny reply😄. Fandoms get touchy sometimes. . Although you did make some False assumptions about bandmaid, this is your reaction channel,,people should not get antsy about your comments.. I like your sense of humour!
1. Japanese does NOT have more syllables than English. It is difficult to directly translate between the two languages, and you probably end up with a lot of verbosity. Japanese is VERY compact. They truncate sentences and even thoughts. For example, "It's raining" in Japanese would be just one word, "Rain." It assumes that you know the rest from context. 2. They are NOT a jam band. If anything, they lean more towards prog, with complicated song structures. There is no room for improvisation. Even the solos are pretty consistent between record and live performance.
Band-maid does not try to look like Babymetal. Niku work in a maid Cafe in Japan. And yes they always dress like in concert hence the name band-maid. They have an acoustic DVD out where they don't wear their maid outfits.
Manners live.
I am impressed with just how much you guys got wrong about this band and your assumptions.
Impressive, really.
Yeah, this was a cluster fuck of ASSumptions and ignorance
Right! Nothing like a jam band.
They have been removing the negative ones. 😄
@@Puyax01 Hmmm, must have started pretty quickly, I'm curious to know what got censured.
BandMaid does not take cues from Baby Metal.
😂 I had to come back for the final question “What is the best song that will blow us away?” 😂
“From Now On,” official music video

Then try any of the other suggestions offered.
KISS enters the room, with Ghost and Slipknot in tow ;)

Band-Maid playing 14 sold out shows in the US 2 years consecutive including this one. Playing at big arenas in Japan. While being rickstars and masterfull musicians and song writes.
Singer leaving the band?, taking cue from who?
Damn
The fancam video documenting Band-Maid's performance at the Welcome To Rockville festival has hit 100k views in just two months without any signs of slowing down. Destined for 1 million+ views eventually. They had to repair the stage after Band-Maid's show because they tore it up!
"It is hard to find like, rocker girls in japanese music"
You are kidding, aren't you?😮
What about bands like Show-Ya, Nemophila, Aldious, Gacharic Spin, Mary's Blood, Trident, Doll$Boxx, Lovebites, Tricot, Bridear, Lonesome_Blue, Destrose, etc, etc, etc...
Don’t believe me. Check out some of their recent work;
- “No God” - official live video
- “Influencer” - official MV
- “Manners / Black Hole” - official live video
And find a lyric video for
- “Corallium”
- “Giovanni” - instrumental version
I’ll think you’ll be amazed and delighted and have another 100+ songs of excellence to discover.
Yes if you want Band-Maids best MV its Blooming =)
“Blooming” is a masterpiece 🥇
But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits like Sense, Glory and Unleash (from their own Anime MV (series?)): ua-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/v-deo.html)
And many songs are represented with 50 well produced music videos. ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAID

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.
For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.

The Maids are one of the hardest working super groups in the business!
For MV Rinne
Best Hard Rock Band in The World Hands Down ! Band-Maid shines when performing live check out "Play" Live or "Freedom" Live Thanks Guys =)
"It's hard to find rocker girls in Japanese music." Really? What about NEMOPHILA, LOVEBITES, TRIDENT, ALDIOUS, GACHARIC SPIN, CYNTIA, BRIDEAR, MARY'S BLOOD, HANABIE, SHOW YA, DOLL$BOX, FATE GEAR, ARK ROYAL, HAGANE, LOVENDOR, etc.
Arigatou! 🤘🤘
I know they're only 33.3% rocker girl, but *Asterism* - because Hal-ca is one _hell_ of a rocker girl.
you are correct about japanese translations to english having more syllables. quite a few one syllable english words are two or three in japanese. for example 'I' in japanese is watashi. and 'WE' is bokura.
Cheers.
Their first music video. They have progressed soooo much you did correct yourself. They are nothing like Babymetal. They rock out
Babymetal seems like a gimmick. Band Maid just rocks.
And they are taking a cue from Babymetal by playing their on instrument too....oh wait.....
It's Band-Maid's rip-off of babymetal's choreography that bothers me. Talk about taking cues!
@@johnmatthew102 Likely Band Maiko has been taking cues from KISS this whole time. don't know why I didn't see it before. 🤷🏻♂
Thrill is just the soft intro. Cant wait to see your face when you reaction to their songs like From Now On (instrumental), Domination (live), No god, Black Hole.
Hi Chase and hi Remmington ! Welcome to the world of Band-Maid !
Great to have you along with us on this musical journey.
Maidiacs Incoming 🎉
You have just won the rock & roll lottery 💰 🎸
(“Clunky” for Japanese lyrics could be described as “percussive”)
Band-Maid, if you choose to pursue their music?
Please consider:
If you like GNR or Mötley Crüe?
Review “DICE,” official music video
If you’re more Metallica?
Check out “Rinne/Reincarnation,” official music video
If you want to see the Maids in their element in front of thousands?
“Domination,” official music video
If you think their just another Jrock girl’s group?
Then it’s “From Now On,” official music video. A hard rock instrumental. No words. No smiles. Just brilliance.
My personal favorite today is “Blooming,” official music video. If you want to trust a 56 year old musician who’s been to more concerts than I can remember
Welcome to the world of Band-Maid!
They have some great instrumentals. Recommend Onset Live and then From Now On MV to start with.
Deleting negative comments? So WEAK!!
Band-Maid is one of the best group of musicians around, check out their live versions of Puzzle, Play and Domination
I tried but as the reaction progressed I got more and more frustrated.
Good Evening, I am posting up part one of an information file for you. I have to post in multiple parts to bypass the algorithm.

Now for your further edification, these young Ladies have been around since 2013 and are currently touring for their 10th anniversary which will culminate at Yokohama Arena this November.
More please
(Saiki also had NEVER met Miku until then as well)
So the Ladies, went and did the performance and Saiki really, REALLY liked the crowds reaction and the music they were performing.
Then in 2015 they released "New Beginning"
On New Beginning was the song that changed Band Maid's entire existence. "Thrill"...
The band was getting ready to release their first music video and the choice was between "Love, Passion, Matador" and "Thrill" and the ladies chose Thrill. (Little known fact, Miku helped with the lyrics on Thrill but did not get credited)
This became the seminal moment of Band Maid.
You guys have no idea just how insanely talented these girls are. But your going to find out.Try some more recent material particularly live.
Definitely try them again but go for something newer. You seem to be hung up on the lyrics/language so maybe try an instrumental like "From Now On." If you continue you will see why they are more commonly mentioned with the likes of Zeplin and Rush than Babymetal.
*_BabyMetal_* sing and dance with a band, *_Band Maid_* IS the band! Also they are organically formed not manufactured...Just sayin'.
Down the pigeon hole u go , enjoy the ride po!
Good job!. Band Maid Domination live next please!
AAAH!Bananas!=Gorilla!!!!!And the Bananas is gone!
Joke aside ,my recomendation is Domination Live or blooming MV and if you want be shocked play "From now on"
Oh boy..... LOL
Remember this day. Maidiacs do.
I remember
On the description: "Our first reaction to the band "Band-Main", it doesn't disappoint!" Ok... who's Band-MAIN?? 🤣
ps: hope you see my comment & quickly change it
😂😂😂 OOPS! Fixed! Thanks for the heads up!
Baby metal doesn't even play their own instruments
Don’t be so quick to talk about what you don’t know
You're talking about the best rock band (male or female) nowadays.
never pause during a solo.
It’s what we react to but I assure you Babymetal isn’t all we know. More than half my music listening is in Japanese 😁

@@ChaseAndRemmingtonMusic Thanks for the reply ✌🏻
@@stevehall5128 I feel you. From time to time, I put some Japanese rock at work and it’s the same answer as yours 🤦🏻♂️
You’re not wrong. I am learning a lot about Japanese music and welcome all suggestions. Thanks for the guidance!
This was painful to watch and even more painful to listen to, and I don't mean the band. Ouch!!!
From Now On is your next song!
Clearly you have alot of homework to do on Band Maid im very sure you have a will be filled in about them quite quickly from the other maidiacs
Och if there are too many, then the whole post is also deleted. There have the 2 practice in it😂
next time check the date of the MV you are watching before you make any comment
You are definitely very, very wrong in your assessments. I think you guys need to know more about Band Maid. Especially when making comparisons with Babymetal. They are two totally different types of music, not even clothes have anything to do with it. And no, they are not a jam band!
You will be Trap-pid, Po! 🦍🍌
Long Live the Po
Por qué hacen criticas sin entender mínimamente de musica?
Clunky vocals?! Weird. A lot of people don’t even notice when Saiki is singing in English or Japanese!
I liked it so I will know not to watch it again. A critic is one who knows the way but can’t drive the car.
Did you say hard to find Japanese female bands?
Where have you been looking?
Lovebites
Mary's Blood
Aldious
Bridear
Doll$boxx
Nemophila
Hanabie
Show-Ya (OG...since last century)
Destrose (disbanded)
...and a whole bunch more.
Right now your not getting a thumbs up or down. No sub here.
Not in the right places. Thanks for the suggestions. I’m stoked to check out this list.
Welp you guys are 2 for 2..... You've successfully pissed off the majority of The Warning Army, and now Maidiacs, which both I'm proudly a part of. Can't wait for the backlash when you fuck up Ghost Love Score and royally piss off The Nightwish Army. Can't wait to see you make it 3 for 3
Just goes to show anything’s possible if you put your heart to it.
No.
Generic? Lmfao
Bandmaid came before baby metal and are they're own entity and jounera now!
Genre (jounera)
Band-maid does not try to look like Babymetal. Niku work in a maid Cafe in Japan. And yes they always dress like in concert hence the name band-maid. They have an acoustic DVD out where they don't wear their maid outfits.
