-Our Intro Song "Feel the Love" From Alex's band
open.spotify.c...
We’ve heard a lot about Jeff Beck from you guys and his work with The Yardbirds, decided to check him out!!! We’re probably going to hit The Yardbirds next in regards to our continuation from this reaction, and when we do, what’s the song to hit?! Make sure to vote in today’s poll on the community page, cheers all!! 🙌🏻🔥
The estate of Charlie Parker never forgave the Yardbirds for using his name in vain.
Beck's Bolero, Jeff Beck Group. It's the birth of Led Zeppelin. It also has Keith Moon, who had to sneak in to do the recording, because Pete had told him he wasn't allowed to do sessions with anyone else. Pete was livid when he found out. Keith didn't use his name, he is credited as You Know Who.
Not sure which Yardbirds song, but next Jeff Beck song to hit, "Plynth". Rod Stewart (not Rob) on vocals. You won't be disappointed!
@@loosilu Jimmy Page on Rhythm Guitar, and Songwriter, John Paul Jones on Bass, Keith Moon on Drums, and Nicky Hopkins on Piano. Recorded on May 17, 1966 (a year before the song was released and still in the yardbirds at that point).
Yardbirds- "Heart Full Of Soul", will be too short for you. Jeff Beck - "El Becko"
Jeff Beck in concert is a jaw dropper. As Clapton said of Jeff: What Jeff does is impossible.
Just try and play a Jeff Beck solo, It won't sound very good.
Was fortunate to see him in LA in the 80's. Nothing to compare him to really. Crazy good.
As many say there are many great guitarist’s and then there is Jeff Beck.
Richie Blackmore said it- Jeff has notes on his guitar nobody else has🍲
All of Wired and Blow by Blow are classics! The musicians Beck choose to play with him were legends as well.
And these albums were produced by George Martin, the "fifth beatle". Two masterpieces.
YESSSS......of my alltime favorites
His WHOLE "Wired" & "Blow by Blow" albums IMHO are his best. Almost ANY songs.
Completely agree!
Same here. Both great records.
100%! Could not agree more.
Absolutely. Had the albums. Had both on tape. Bought the CDs. And now on my IPod. Next I’ll have them mentally implanted (assuming that’s is next lol!).
@@jcroston3266 You STILL have an iPod??? lol
There is absolutely no fat on this solo at all. Every note, every slide, every sound is vital. There is so much personality in every note he plays.
One of the most RESPECTED guitarists on the planet, regardless of genre or amount of records sold.
ALL the likes
The production you noticed is because it's The Beatles producer George Martin in charge. Also, Freeway Jam from the same lp is a banger!!
Jeff Beck is listed as one of the top 5 guitarists on Rolling Stones list of top guitar players. This is one of my favorite albums of all time. Cheers
Jeff and Jan Hammer are crazy good together...
George Martin - how great is it that this guy got into Jeff Beck and produced this fantastic album?
Another good candidate for a full album reaction. "Freeway Jam" should be your next song. It will DEFINITELY make your road trip collection.
My favorite Jeff Beck song.
Freeway Jam Live with Jan Hammer Group!! Best version
@@klb3293 Absolutely!!!
@@klb3293 Yup, recorded live at the spectrum in Philly.
100% Driving from Phoenix to Flagstaff in the mid-1970s.
This is maybe my favorite album of all time. Who needs a vocalist when you can make a guitar sing like this!
There's a great vid of JB with Tal Wilkenfeld playing this at Ronnie Scott's - check it out all you Beck fans :)
Tal Wilkemfeld is the most brilliant current young female artist. Have you heard her solo material? Killing!!!
That is a great DVD.
That is a great DVD.
Yeah, Tal is an awesome bass player. She came to the U.S. as a teenager from Australia.
Saw Jeff Beck with Tal on bass in Colorado a few summers ago. What a great show.
Rip. What a legend, and what a loss for the rest of us. Hope they have hot rods in heaven for you, Jeff.
And that is the magic of the MAN! You did'nt remember the name of the song, but you felt it anyways! Jeff can talk to you and he does'nt sing. He seems to not give a shit about fame, he just gets off on playing. And his ego allows him to perform with the best musicians and let them shine! His most recent work with the best lady-bassist to come out of Australia ever-Tal Wilkenfeld is a must! For a 70+ year old he is still a kid on stage.
I'm guessing you're familiar with the great Live At Ronnie Scott's concert.
@@scottingram7634 Ronnie-who?, Jeff-who? Sorry I have dain bramage!Completely un-"Wired'. Probably too much loud music & all the things that go with it!
I've always considered Beck's frequent change of stylistic direction a positive, not a mistake. Unlike other guitarists, his albums always sound fresh and groundbreaking, not the same tired licks and sounds like many others of his generation so often fall back on.
Yeah, I agree. Maybe he could've made even more money by making more commercially lucrative moves, but I'm pretty sure he still made a very nice living. Plus he did exactly what he wanted at all times creatively, so I don't see anything to feel sad about myself.
Anyone that has been a performer can tell you how nauseating it can be to do the same material over and over and over again.
Even going back to elementary school Christmas songs. I couldn't wait for the program to come so we could stop singing those same damn songs.
well said
Cant believe you havn't heard any Rod Stewart. For a few years in the early 70s The Faces were the best band in the world. Try [I Know] I'm Losing You especially a live version.
Faces were the best rock n roll band along with the Stones. Good, old fashioned, rowdy, boozy, rock n roll!
Stay With Me is just about the textbook definition of a rock n roll banger
Maggie May was leading their latest community polls last time I checked. I predict we will see it in a couple of weeks.
If you do any Faces, you must do “Miss Judy’s Farm”. Better than “Stay With Me” and that’s a great song too.
live BBC
Two things: Song was dedicated to Roy Buchanan, who was one of the true innovators of the guitar techniques Beck used here.
Second, song was written by Stevie Wonder, as repayment because Beck came up with the riff for Superstition when he was playing with Wonder, and Wonder recorded it first.
Those are two very interesting fun facts. You know these guys have no idea who RoyB was.
Roy Buchanan is one of the greatest guitar players you've never heard of. A freaking genius. 😲
@@johnleonard3806 Yes, I’m aware of that, but if he gets some mentions, they might go search him out.
@@duffypratt Several really good documentaries on YT about Roy. I was lucky enough to see him twice. Once in my home town of Albany NY. I went home after the show and my friends went to a bar where Roy and his band showed up and smoked a bag of weed with my buddies. Good times.
That was the reason Beck wrote, “Thank to Stevie” in the liner notes...
Collab - Becks Bolero. Was recorded this with Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, Keith Moon and Nicky Hopkins during a single-day recording session. You can hear Keith scream as he attacks his drums.
How's that for a collaboration??
fun fact, for those that might not know - right around the time Moon screams, he broke his mics and you mostly only hear cymbals after that. In terms of change-ups, if this wasn't early prog I dunno where to find it. Absolutely ground breaking and I don't care who wrote it LOL
@Joan In Florida this is a very true fact. Played with The Who, Stones, Beatles, Kinks, Joe Cocker, Beck..... basically anyone who is anyone. What a CV
Here’s the history: Yardbirds had a guitarist Anthony Top Topham. He left. Clapton joined the band. He left as he wanted to be a pure bluesman and joined John Mayals Bluesbreakers. Clapton recommended Page, a prominent session musician. Page turned them down but recommended Beck. He joined and then later Page also joined. Eventually Beck left to form the Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart. Page remained and eventually formed Zeppelin.
Worth noting that the Yardbirds approached Page on two occasions. The first was because Clapton was such a purist and difficult on a personal level. Page declined because session life was treating him well and didn't want to upset Clapton. Second time around, yes, he recommended Beck. Funnily, when Beck turned up to audition he had no guitar...because he didn't own one! So he used the red Telecaster owned by the band that Clapton had used. Beck said it was 'rubbish', so borroed a Tele from his former bandmate John Owen before purchasing an Esquire from John Maus of the Walker Brothers and then getting his first Les Paul in the latter half of his time with the Yardbirds. That John Owen Tele ended up with Page, but that is a whole other story.
I Ain’t Superstitious by Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart as lead singer. Recorded in 1968 on the Truth album. Great jam at the end.
Listened to that song the other day.
Blues Deluxe and Morning Dew too.
Anything off the Truth album is good.
...or Superstition by Beck, Bogert & Appice
Good tune for Halloween too
He has this unique ability to take those weird guitar noises that most of us avoid and make them slund truly musical. He sense of melody is superhuman.
"People Get Ready". Jeff Beck on guitar, and fantastic vocals by the legendary Rod Stewart.
OMG, YES!!!
Beautiful cover of Curtis Mayfield And The Impressions song.
That's what I was going to say.
I haven't seen Andy & Alex do this one Rod Stewart & Jeff Beck. A song for the ages.
Yes, and here is the story on that.
Aften being together in the original Jeff Beck Group, Jeff and Rod were not on the best of terms. But were brought back together by Carmine Appice, who was Rod's drummer at the time of the reunion and had been with Jeff in Beck, Bogert & Appice. Jeff and Rod, both on tour at the time in Australia, were staying at the same hotel. When Carmine discovered this he got the two together with the suggestion of doing a record. Carmine had sung 'People Get Ready' with his original band Vanilla Fudge (who Led Zeppelin were openers for on their debut tour of America), and Carmine's keyboard playing friend his his latter days in Cactus, Duane Hitchings, came up with the riff Jeff played on the record. Though the single was a hit and rejuvinated the careers of both Beck and Stewart, Carmine and Hitchings weren't credited on the record. All they got was a 'Thanks to da boys' or something equally asinine. Beck also played the solo (only) on Stewart's hit 'Infatuation' and appears briefly in the video.
RIP Jeff. Your music will live forever. 😢
It's no accident that if Jeff is playing a show, everybody that's anybody in the guitar world will be there if they can be.
That is the God's honest truth.
"Going Down" is the first song I ever heard from Jeff. YEARS ago(I'm 65) and it is still my fave today. Might give it a listen even if you don't react to it. It's REALLY excellent!
That was the song that turned me on to Jeff Beck, also.
Me too.
@@jennifertierney9076 Don't know if you've ever heard this version but the Snare drum and kick are memorable. ua-cam.com/video/Wdqxx7dI14U/v-deo.html
Beck's Bolero is a classic, but about anything from the Jeff Beck Group (with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood, Nicky Hopkins, ... ) is amazing
Their version of Shape of Things is great!
"Cause We've Ended As Lovers" was a cover of a Stevie Wonder song. He also covered The Beatles "She's A Woman" using a talk box to "voice" it. A year later "Frampton Comes Alive" arrived and Jeff conceded Pete owned the talk box. Jeff did a few solos on Mr. Wonder's "Talking Book" album, Stevie gave Jeff the song "Superstition" that appears on the also short lived "Beck, Bogart, and Appice" LP. Motown insisted Stevie release it too, Stevie had the hit.
There are 2 Jeff Beck Group lineups, the first being 67'-69' with Mr. Beck on Guitar; Sir Rod Stewart on Vocals; Ronnie Wood(sound familiar?) on Bass(FANTASTIC BASS PLAYER!!!); Nicky Hopkins on Piano; and Micky Waller on Drums. "Truth" and "Beck-Ola" were the 2 albums released with one having "Beck's Bolero" with Beck, Jimmy Page on 12 string acoustic, John Paul Jones on Bass, Nicky Hopkins on Piano, and Keith Moon on Drums and Tympani, credited as "You Know WHO".
The second lasted from 70'-72' with Mr. Beck on Guitar; Bob Tench on Vocals; Clive Chaman on Bass; Max Middleton on Piano; and Cozy Powell on Drums. "Rough And Ready" and "Jeff Beck Group" also called the orange album were the 2 they released.
These 4 albums from these 2 lineups are some of the best Rock & Roll you will ever hear. Peace & Love!
Thank you, that's truly interesting
Well it's a cover of Syreeta, who Stevie Wonder wrote the song for
@@cm9241 Syreeta was the wife of Wonder

My personal favorite of Jeff's is "Led Boots," the opening track off his 1976 album, Wired. This song is good because Jeff paints a sober picture with his playing.
I was able to see him live in San Diego, 1980, in support of his There and Back album. A very emotional guitar player!
Finally you all getting into Jeff Beck! Really gotta give "Scatterbrain" off that same album a listen too.
I am conflicted between the studio album version and live album version with the Jan Hammer group. I think the first is more precise and sounds better from a production/recording angle, but they just fly on the live album.
Absolutely. Air Blower into Scatterbrain is my favorite music ever. It simply can't be topped in my opinion.
I’m surprised no one revisited
This reaction from both of you.
Jeff was one of a kind, and at the time he was doing this, I don’t think he thought about genre or what was cool at the moment.
I think he just wanted to make the best music he was capable of…
Rest in power, Jeff.
One of the very best guitar tunes ever. If this one doesn't score insanely high with them then I have to wonder about their taste and knowledge of music. Jeff's playing on this is subtle and profound. His use of vibratto is outstanding on this piece and well before he starting using the whammy bar to excess like he has for the past couple of decades. Remember, this is the guy who everyone else in rock worshipped like a god. Page, Clapton, May, Iommi, they all looked up to Jeff as the very best.
They said A+ to S-tier for the Guitar playing. They got it.
And they all looked up to Link Wray.
@@paulmm5175 Jimmy did, that's for sure. I saw 'It Might Get Loud" too. :)
He's the guitarist's guitarist.
@@scottingram7634 exactly
His tone and playing style is truly original, I play guitar and my sister had this album when I was very young, I was blown away
Blow By Blow album was produced by George Martin, along with his next album "Wired".
Jeff Beck has great tunes in straighter rock format like the Jeff Beck Group, the power trio, Beck, Bogart, and Appice, the Jazzy fusion stuff, Blow by Blow and Wired and the mastery of the man who's aged like fine wine musically. His more recent live concert with Tal Wilkenfeld on bass and Vinnie Colaiuta on drums was a magical
50 year old Scotch bruh ;-)
Must see Beck play. Great intimate concert was Live at Ronnie Scott’s. He is at his best. A little help from Clapton, Joss Stone, Imogen Heep. Check it out.
YES!!!!
Love that show! The bass player is on fire!
Saw him with Buddy Guy, two genius performers!
Yeah, I own that bluray disc for that. What a great show, what a freakin' great show.
Thats a great concert😁😁
Saw Jeff Beck last year in San Antonio. It was just a trio (guitar, drums, bass). He was simply masterful. Like watching a great artist paint a picture. The guitar is his paintbrush, the stage is the canvas. Simply incredible. His band is also at the top of their game.
He doesnt use a pick fingers baby , fingers. He still tours. so if u can catch him live.. Worth it. Another one from him is Freeway Jam
When this album was recorded he was still using a pick. He stopped using a pick in the 80s.
I've been to a couple of Beck concerts in Clearwater and was utterly blown away by his renditions of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "A Day in the Life". Pure magic to see and hear.
This song is brilliant art. He literally makes the guitar talk, telling the story of the end of a relationship. Sadness, anger, tender nostalgia for sweetness lost are all spelled out without words. Amazing.
Managing that kind of talent can be a challenge in terms of focus. He can do so much and didn’t resist the temptation to sample too many things. The other guitarists you mention (Page, Clapton and Hendrix) all more or less settled on a lane and then re-defined it. Their explorations were more gradual and less jagged.
Your evaluation was spot on! I Have seen Jeff Beck in concert twice and was blown away each time. He’s a guitarist guitarist. Heavily influenced my approach to guitar playing in my formative years.
In the original Jeff Beck Group Ronnie Wood who is an exceptional guitarist in his own right played bass because who needs an extra guitarist when you have Jeff Beck.
Jeff Beck is the most unique guitarist...it's hard to describe...it's like other guitarists are playing notes, while he is playing "sounds"
Talking of Rod Stewart, you must listen to “I Know I’m Loosing You”. This is a great jam. I believe he was with the Faces when it was recorded.
This tune was composed by Stevie Wonder, recording produced by George Martin (Beatles)

I'm constantly impressed by how well you nail it with your initial impressions. Beck was/is a huge influence in jazz and blues guitar. And don't feel bad for the dude He loves how he's living his life! 👍👍
I’m gonna stick with the song “Led Boots” from Jeff Beck who collaborated with Jan hammer on that track.

This song is a wow! * sigh * I didn't follow Beck's solo career, but you two nailed the emotion. This needed no words... We've all had that experience/those feelings, yes? Cried half the time this was playing. I was swept away! Emotionally A++ His guitar playing/tone & band melting into his playing... Stunning! Need to hit more Jeff Beck for sure. The odd thing about that song is that Jeff Beck didn't write it. Jimmy Page wrote it!
Wow! Thank you. Haven’t heard this in forever.
It’s just so …beautiful and more.
As a David Gilmour fan, Jeff Beck is most significant in my mind as the guitarist Roger Waters wanted when they lost Syd Barrett. Waters says he was too intimidated at the time to ask. If he had, the world may never have gotten Gilmour-infused Pink Floyd.
Interesting. But I'd have to say it worked out well for everybody.
"Shapes Of Things," "Heart Full Of Soul" and "Over, Under, Sideways, Down" are some of the more obvious Yardbirds tracks to listen to with Jeff Beck in tow. "You're A Better Man Than I" is another favorite of mine. As far as his solo career is concerned, "Freeway Jam" is about as good as he gets...although "Beck's Bolero," "I Aint Superstitious" and his own version of "Shapes Of Things" are all great. You guys should have an episode where you listen to both the Yardbirds' version of "Shapes Of Things" and Beck's version of it. Beck is an incredible guitarist - his albums cover a wide range of great music. You should give his live version of The Beatles "A Day In The Life" a listen, as well, some day.
Great reaction to one of the guitar GOATs Jeff Beck! Some Jeff Beck Yardbird bangers are Lost Woman and Over Under Sodeways Down. Some Jeff Beck Group bangers with Rod Stewart are Let Me Love You and I Ain’t Superstitious. Keep rockin’ dudes 🤙
"People Get Ready" with Rod Stewart is great...
Jeff Beck has 23 lps under his name alone. Not counting his enormous number of collaborations with Rod Stewart, Yardbirds, etc...etc...
Good pick Guys! Jeff is the Master of tone and has such a unique way of accentuating notes. This was when he was still playing the Les Pauls. Very Dreamy Jazz fusion.
I believe this was recorded on a telecaster, which was easier to do volume swells on.
@@SuperEdge67 Right : there's a Les Paul on the album sleeve but he recorded the song with a tele : Jeff explained it himself in an interview about the gear he used.
An interesting choice for your first Jeff Beck reaction. I think to truly appreciate Jeff's talent you need to see some live stuff, especially his work with Tal Wilkenfeld on bass.
Tal and Vinnie are a rhythm section from heaven.
Couldn't agree more! She's amazing.
They would love tals bass solo
this. The live version of this with Tal and Vinnie is 100 times better than the studio version
Jeff Beck was more interested in building old hot rods than playing guitar and touring, he played and toured just enough to pay for his car habit, a true one of a kind!
Beck has a very varied career - still making some great music. He played with Rod Stewart, The Yardbirds. "You shook me" is good. This is very Jazzy, You will enjoy it.
I met Jeff Beck years ago before his concert in Phoenix… It’s a long story, but I can tell you all he is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met in my life

Nope although both good Going down way better or rock my Plimsoul with Rod Stewart on vocals fucking fantastic
So glad you guys got around to this; and yes, highly recommended for "zone out on the bed or couch" moment. As far any "mismanagement" of his career, maybe I haven't read the same bio as you guys, but I was always under the impression that Beck did what he wanted to do, which simply wasn't a Led Zep kind of path. But he's widely and deservedly known as an incredible virtuoso, always at the cutting edge of tone and technique, and this tune (a cover of a Stevie Wonder song, actually) is just gorgeous. The whole Blow by Blow album is worth a listen, as is Wired, and on Wired you'll find Goodbye Pork Pie Hat (cover of a Charles Mingus tune), which is somewhat similar to this. Anyway, really glad you checked this out.
Perfectly said ;-) Cause We've Ended and Goodbye PPH are my all-time Jeff Beck's favorites (you can add Where were You in his 1989 LP, Guitar Shop... and The Final Peace from his 1980 LP There And Back), even if there's so many other things to like in his extraordinary musical life. I discovered him at 16 and since then (43 years ago) no day without listening him. Same for Jaco Pastorius :-)
Yardbirds - Train Kept a Rollin'... When the Yardbirds broke up, Page filled their remaining dates with his new band 'The New Yardbirds' who later changed the name to Led Zeppelin on Keith Moons' suggestion.
Actually, the story was that they played a tune and Moon said, "That should go over like a led zeppelin !
@@bigpapavee it’s actually even more coincidental. As someone else in the comments stated; Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Keith Moon, and John Entwistle were in the studio recording “Beck’s Bolero” when Page suggested they all form a supergroup together. In reference to how the other members of The Who would take it, Keith Moon stated the idea would go over like a lead balloon.
Original Train Kept a Rollin circa 51.

Jeff talks through his guitar and he says what he wants. He shows up here and there on other peoples albums and you can always tell its him. Hes just one of those artists you have to seek out. Hes not tryin to be the next big thing. But he is on the list of the greatest guitar players. Because he is.
I have to say, his ability to try different genres, I find to be a strong point. My favorite album of his is There and Beck, he corroborated with Vangellis on this album. It was all instrumental, but the blend if keyboards and Beck's guitar us stunning. You need to check it out.
Beck is recognized as one of the all time greats coming out of the '60s English blues rock scene. This and his subsequent album are considered classics. Don't cry for Jeff Beck.

I haven't heard "wore out the grooves" since like 1979 when people were doing just THAT, mostly because 8 track sucked. 😄

His 1975 album, Blow By Blow will blow your mind. I wore out the grooves on mine!!
Jeff Beck is a musical legend, but he's someone who's always known what he wants tp do and done it. He also has a history of working more comfortably in collaborations, for instance, working with Stevie Wonder to come up with the riffs for "Superstitious." As fantastic as his playing and technique was, he's continued to develop his technique over the decades and he now plays without a pick, and there is simply nobody who sounds like him today. Something he now does is use is playing with vibrato on the fingerboard, while modulating the volume control AND using his bridge vibrato. David Gilmour has said he's doesn't know how Jeff can do it all. He's continued putting out albums, working with other musicians, especially up and coming women (check out the women who played on his latest album, "Loud Hailer.") But it seems that he's happiest living at home with his wife of 15 years and building hot-rods (from welding up the frames, to engine building to the body work!) Did anyone mention that he happened to win 8 Grammy awards?
The guitar crying at the beginning was achieved by simultaneously bending the note and turning the guitar's volume control knob.
Beck is the king of tone-control.
I was fortunate enough to see Jeff Beck about 15 years ago. From near the front this show had you feeling pummeled and beat up by the end. Very intense. Fantastic! This song can take you through the crash of a relationship if you allow it. You can hear the arguing, shouting back, door slamming, regret, and sorrow.
Phenomenal musicians all around on this LP
Half the joy of Jeff Beck is in watching how he plays and gets that amazing sound, it’s all vibrato and violin swells. Truly masterful.
Check out the Hot Rods that Jeff has built...when he wasn't playing music he was in the garage.
Even wrote a tune called 'Stand On It'!
There’s an old expression which says ‘he/she can make that instrument talk’. This is so relevant to Jeff Beck’s guitar playing.
"Stay with Me" The Faces - Rod Stewart on lead vocals
Ooh La La
The live version from the BBC!
JEFF BECK was such an innovator, he plays a note uses the Wah and volume and tone at the same time. There are things he plays that is done with pure instinct and feel, I truly think a fire could break out on stage when he's in "IT" and he wouldn't even notice. I have seen Jimi and SRV, The same. He is above everyone else. He's not a shredder (thank God) He Is A Guitarist That Can Do Anything With His Instrument. All the real musicians know he is the Real Deal. Thankyou Guys for Showcasing him.
CONTENT IDEA: y'know, as a fifty-something who loves classic rock, i'm always interested when you guys talk about "modern music" which i'm definitely not hip on. Would be interesting if you picked some of your fave modern music tracks and did a compare/contrast with similarly themed classic rock tracks. What makes modern music "modern" vs the "classic" sound. Plus, i'd appreciate some good modern music recommendations from you guys. C'mon, help us old dudes bridge the gap and find some cool new music!
Rod check out some Band Maid .Its modern hard rock with a 80's / 90's hard rock feel.
@@kevenbridges9433 arguably 80's/90/s hard rock is not really the same as classic rock.
Check out Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson, the founder of PT who has a solo career. Also, Archive, a proggy band from England not known in the states. Tame Impala especially their album Lonerism. Artic Monkees are also worth a listen.
Listen to "Gary Clark Jr - Live" from 2015. Amazing live album. Totally reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsys album. Gary Clark Jr is 100% carrying the torch for awesome blues rock like Hendrix, Cream, and Allman Brothers Band.
Jeff Beck has had an incredible career performing for thousands of adoring fans and he has made a lot more money than most. I doubt he is looking for anyone's pity. And he is a legit guitar god. Great song choice and great feedback as well from you guys once again.
YESSS Jeff Beck!! Have a feeling you'll really like it. Jeff plays live with a young bass player lately. Her name is Tal Wilkenfeld, she kicks azz!! She looks like she is in her late teens early 20s. That whole album is great. Next song FREEWAY JAM
Tal Wilkenfeld is 21 yrs old at Ronnie Scotts.
@@micko11154 thanks
In the "old days" they had something called a "tape cassette" 😁. I played the Jeff Beck tape until the emulsion was worn off and it squeeked.
Great concert too........even today!
This song was dedicated to the great Roy Buchanan on the Blow To Blow album as it is played similar to Roy's style.
There are great guitar players and then there is Jeff Beck who’s an incredible musician who happens to overshadow all guitar playing with phenomenal musicianship. That puts him in a separate category. Pure genius!
Recommend Blue Wind. Must feature Beck with Jan Hammer. It’s a huge part of his career.
Right on!
Live album is Beck at his best
One of my favorite songs off of this incredible album. I still play it often after all these years.
This song is written by Stevie Wonder!!!!!

@@burmajones803 good choice! Defo Wonder time!
oh my... never knew that.
He’s a pure genius at his craft. He’s one I could listen to whatever the mood.
In 1975 Beck was touring as the opening act for John McLaughlin, that's how he hooked up with Jan Hammer and Narada Michael Walden for Wired.
Jeff Beck has nothing to be ashamed of for his career. He did what he wanted and has been continually releasing music and touring since the early 60s. He has released around 40 albums with his own band and has appeared on the albums of almost every legend of rock and roll. Not to mention 8 Grammy awards.
I need to send you my Jeff Beck Truth album that I've had since I was six I inherited it from my uncle... Rod Stewart's vocals on shapes of things 🎼🎼
Jeff Beck is on a different level. Check out more of his stuff.
You really need to check out Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart and Ron Wood. Similar sound to early Led Zeppelin but came out first. Try Shapes of Things.
Love this man. He's one of those masters - absolute mastery. His finger picking style and genius control of dynamics ...
