To be mentioned in the same sentence as Rodney Smith is quite the compliment. I've watched him for years, even back when he was playing games with his kids in the basement. I'm glad my videos are helping to enrich the hobby for you in some small way. I really appreciate your viewership and support!
He really is great and I have lots of good memories watching him back in the day too, and I genuinely mean it, you’re the first I’ve come across in awhile where I stay the whole video and learn and ton and really enjoy it! Thank you!
Yet another game where I've watched other playthroughs and thought the game wasn't for me, but then I watch your video and I'm itching to give it a shot! lol
Thanks Rogue! But definitely try before you buy. This is one where some people will absolutely love it and others will bounce right off of it. I love the puzzle of the solo game. Thanks again!
Thank you so much! I just picked up Bullet Star and the instructions are not clear and I couldn’t find any solo play throughs that weren’t boss mode. ❤
Hey Shaggy, thanks for the solo playthrough. I just picked this game up and played through my first round of score attack. I only lasted to the 6th intensity, but it was fun! Have you ever tried the boss mode, and if so, what did you think of it?
Thanks for checking out the video. The boss mode is great -- in fact it is the preferred way to play for the majority of solo players. A bit more complicated, but good fun. One day I hope to do a video of it. Thanks again!
One more question. At 22:48 why did you use gravity spell instead of the other card? Wouldn’t the 3 reds at the bottom of column 1 have gotten cleared out instead?
Your video helped me so much today, as I played my first solo games with Bullet Heart. I started off easy and made it to 4 rounds, for the first 3 tries. On the 4th try, I made it 5 rounds. Question - at the 21:00 mark, you played the starlight buster, but with that configuration, don't the 3 in same column have to be in red or blue column, so that you have 3 columns in the same row to take out? By having the vertical 3 in green, and only taking out a yellow and pink token, it seems like that might not be a legal move :-) But then again, I just received my game yesterday and just started learning the game today. In any event, I really, really, really appreciate you taking the time to show the solo mode without the boss. I enjoy you channel, which I subscribed a while back and I am so glad I did! Thanks!
Hey Mark, thank you so much for the wonderful message! Hearing that my videos are helpful and appreciated really brings me so much joy, so thank you for taking the time to reach out. I'm glad you are enjoying Bullet Heart. That is such a cool and unique game. As for the rules question, I think what I did there is legal, but you definitely have me doubting myself. :) When I get a chance I'll double check the rules. Thanks so much for watching and subscribing!
Yes, I've played both and they feel quite different. I think most people prefer the boss battle mode. It is more complex rules wise but very fun. I personally turn to Bullet when I want something quick and simple, so I usually play the way I show in the video. Honestly, I haven't played either mode in a while and I would love to get it back to the table. I definitely recommend both modes, but I would start with this one before trying the boss battle. Thanks for watching!
That is right. Power up tokens are new one use abilities that you can gain in other modes. In this play I am only using the printed star abilities, which are fine. Thanks for watching David!
It's obvious you are having fun, however watching it I just don't feel it. It looks themeless and I have solo games with more immersion. 21:18 this is already deadly. 31:21 you committed suicide because you aren't clearing enough star bullets. You're out of energy and your left column is set to kill you. You should have drawn more patterns. And that is exactly my critique to the game - it's too often you draw no star bullets, i.e. no way to get your energy back. An alternative would be to paint a star on the back of bullets with a star, and allow for a single mulligan before beginning the game.
Definitely an abstract puzzle, Kosteri. But a very unique one with a ton of replayability. The realtime element in multiplayer adds a real twist. But not the game for someone looking for a thematic experience. Thanks for checking out the video!
There are two solo modes. The score attack mode, which is what I showed and the mode I usually play, doesn't have a win condition. You just try to last as long as you can. The boss mode, which I've played twice if memory serves me, does have a win condition. I believe I won one and lost one. The different characters have different difficulty levels. Hope that answers your question. Thanks Kosteri!
@@TotallyTabled yeah so you use the intensity track to keep track of the rounds you won. Thanks for showing. 6 seems a pretty decent score. I'll give it a try soon, I have the game but need to put the bullets into coin capsules.
My score was probably a function of playing with an easy character. Things can get much more complex and difficult. The coin containers help so much! Thanks Kosteri!
First there was Rodney in my life. Now it’s you my friend. Thanks for your amazing videos!

Great playthrough, thanks! Looking forward to get it tomorrow.
Thanks for watching, John. I hope you enjoy your play of the game!

this was fun to watch
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for checking out the video!
I love the autofocus of your camera. Wich model is it? Thanks for the video
I was using the Canon M50 for that video. I now use a Canon R6. Thanks for watching Andreu!
One more question. At 22:48 why did you use gravity spell instead of the other card? Wouldn’t the 3 reds at the bottom of column 1 have gotten cleared out instead?
No. The other card needed three tokens in a row, then it would destroy the three spaces to the left of it. Thanks for the question.
Good job! That was a crazy fun playthrough 😅
Thanks Nani for the kind comments. The game is really fun if you like spacial puzzles. Very cool design and artwork. Thanks for watching!
good job. only a question: dont you have the powerups in the solo?
Hey, great question Danilo. I went back to the rulebook and you do not use powerups in the solo modes. Thanks for the question!

I don't understand why starlight buster would be limited to specific columns.
Have you tried the boss battles solo? Any preference between the two modes?
Yes, I've played both and they feel quite different. I think most people prefer the boss battle mode. It is more complex rules wise but very fun. I personally turn to Bullet when I want something quick and simple, so I usually play the way I show in the video. At 20:57 were you supposed to clear all three bullets ?
No, I think I did it right. You only destroy tokens from the spaces with the explosion. Thanks for the question Dimples.
Doesn’t the rule book say power ups are not use in Score attack mode?
That is right. Power up tokens are new one use abilities that you can gain in other modes. In this play I am only using the printed star abilities, which are fine. Thanks for watching David!
the boss mode its good?
Yes, both modes are really fun. The boss mode is a bit more complex but not that much. I highly recommend! Thanks for watching.
Do you end a round at your choosing?
The round ends when you have emptied your bag. Thanks for watching!
Ok. So as soon as you lay down your last bullet the round ends?
No, you can still use your cards and abilities and stuff. But you have to draw all the tokens before you can end the round.
It's obvious you are having fun, however watching it I just don't feel it. It looks themeless and I have solo games with more immersion.
