Man, such a pure reaction at the end! I know I’m coming to this video way late, but it was awesome! Also, thanks to a few things lining up in the past few days, I was reminded that this game existed… And after a few videos, ordered my copy with the deluxe bullets. Cannot wait!
Yoooo this playthrough was crazy hype !! I played this game today and fell HARD in love with it , it has this exciting push-your-luck mechanical that feels so amazing when things fall into place, and doesn't feel too bad if you draw poorly? Your reaction and excitement of the playthrough really made the video super enjoyable to watch, start to finish ! Awesome work , I had just as much fun watching you play then actually playing myself !!
Haha.. love how excited you get when you win this one. Whew! Just picked up a copy after watching this. Except my plays will be more like Final Girl where I die all the time.
This one is consistently exciting and fun, which is why it stays in my top 10 games Hope you win some! At least here you can't blame bad dice rolls for a loss! You can have bad bag draws instead ;)
You’re in for some fun :) If you play coop, use the semi-official variant. You don’t die when you run out of hearts. Instead you start passing further damage to other players. Basically it’s a shared life pool until you ALL die. Takes out player elimination and works great!
I know this is late, but I just wanted to correct a rule mistake. When breaking shields, you break them 1 at a time. So at 12:30 when you broke 2 shields, you would resolve the shield break action, then check if you break another shield. So you would end up breaking 3 shields that round.
Eh? The bullet count to break shields is above the shield spot which is 5 as they are playing solo. He had 14 Bullets, so broke 2, 5 point shields. He would have needed 15 bullets to break the 3rd shield. If you break a shield then excess bullets are wiped out- they are only kept if no shield break occurred. He played it correctly. Hell on High Wheels MOVES bullets out of your sight she doesn't CLEAR bullets out of your sight so would not contribute to the shield break of the third. Which doesn't resolve until after Boss Incoming is cleared. Thematically makes sense as well since the Boss isn't going to assist you in defeating her, even lore wise it's not what Young-Ja would do. Great video One Stop, can't beat a good physical playthrough video!
Rie clears bullets that would hit her, if they share a color with her discard. There's no stipulation that they need to come from a certain direction. Even The Bauk's random bullet from center can be cleared if it happens to match Ries discard color. The cleared bullets go directly to the bosses incoming, so as I stated before, you would of broke 3 shields. This is the official ruling, not sure where the other person is getting their information. Edit: Looks like I've been playing wrong all these years. RIP Shield effects happen all at once. Rie does clear the bullets, but there isn't another shield check after the shield effects go off.
@@TheOnlyTata Also, I just read the part about excess bullets. You can for sure break multiple shields in a round. Excess is only removed after you are done breaking shields that round. This isn't really the place to discuss rules questions, but if you have more please feel free to post on BGG or join the Level99 discord. discord.gg/bdDVgr5e7Y
I love Bullet, I have Heart, Star and now Orange but I'm a bit confused about some of the Heroine/Villain-specific rules. Do y'all know where I can find an FAQ?
The chonkiness only comes with the deluxe upgrade. But to make it similarly chonky for less, I recommend coin capsules. They work great and still fit in the spaces.
I've been playing this myself recently, It's a lot of fun in many different ways. My current favorite character is Senka, because once you get used to having to move crosshairs around, her patterns are easy to clear otherwise. when i was playing score attack, i was able to live 5 rounds, and cleared 16 bullets in one round. And then i lost, because next round i was dealing with 26 bullets. And, as you noticed, if you can take boss effects, it's better to clear off your board to be safe and deal damage.
Feast for Odin is my favorite spatial game. I'm really bad at spatial games in general, but Feast for Odin has enough other stuff going on that I don't always get an embarrassing score.
This was cool looking, great job!! I like the feel and fast paced nature this gives off. Are there any other games that are our right now, that you coukd compare to this one???
@@OneStopCoopShop yeah I was thinking Tetris as well! Seems like a unique brand of game play then, I'm gona keep my eye on this one. Thanks and have a great day!
@One Stop Co-op Shop Fortune is one of those "Why wasn't this just part of the base game" expansions. It, basically, just adds coin tokens and two rules: • If you wait with your resource placement to build two structures SIMULTANEOUSLY, you get a coin • If a resource is called that you don't want to take, you can spend a coin to take what you want instead. Thought of one more game that I love the spatial aspect of: Cascadia
Thanks Mike, great playthrough! Just a question for interest sake: do you need to anchor the boss pattern at the top row? Or can you form it anywhere on the board?
Anywhere on the board. But for all patterns you can’t reflect them or rotate them? Did I always block the boss with the top? That would be a funny coincidence!
@@OneStopCoopShop Thanks Mike. I'm not sure about all of them, but for the last one you moved a bullet to form the pattern from the top where it seemed already in place lower down.
Hi Mike Great Video, bought the game after ur playthrough. Have a question. Where in the rules I find the point with the immunities of the color icon on the pattern cards and where I can find the rules if the boss will push bullets out of the board? Greetings Mike
What does it mean when one of the bullets on your pattern has a circle around it? As in, one of the bullets you can remove has a circle around it, but not the others.
Circled spaces indicate a bullet that MUST be in your pattern to play the card. So if it has both a circle and an explosion, that means you need to have that bullet, and it will be cleared when the card is played.
@@OneStopCoopShop One last question! I just noticed that the boss pattern activates only on the bosses turn. I thought I cleared it once I made the pattern, am I playing wrong?
Yeah, sounds like you have it backwards. You don’t clear the boss’s pattern. Instead you check it on the boss’s turn. If you DO have their pattern, you AVOID the negative effect. If you do NOT have the boss pattern on your board, you SUFFER the negative. But in either case, those bullets stay put. You don’t clear anything. Notice the boss pattern has no explosion icons on it, to remind you not to clear anything
@@OneStopCoopShop I do ! :) Event if I'm losing more than I won :D (fortunately the reset is lightning flash!) Have you tried the versus mode? And how about the co-op versus boss? Looks fun but maybe even harder than pure solo ? :) Cheers
Versus is lots of fun. Co-op is actually easier than solo, with rules as written, because you can sacrifice players and actually weaken the boss. So many people play with a variant where you share damage and all lose at the same time
All of the solo/co-op content: 8 fighters and 8 bosses. The only thing you don’t use in solo/co-op are these bonus tiles, which have minor effects like clearing one bullet.

Those kind of rules are right on the individual character boards, so you won't find them in the rulebook. Hope that helps!
