@@evanyurko3640 End of ACOK, "Jaquen" changes faces in front of Arya. The new face is described as having tight, dark curls of hair and a hooked nose, same as the fellow described at the end of AFFC. I assume from Arya's later storyline (in the "mask" room) with the Kindly man; that the FM have a collection of face "masks" that they can select from when going on a mission. Due to Arya's bizarre, seemingly telepathic experience when she sees the memories of the face's owner when she puts it on, each mask is "unique," and only one person can wear that face at a time. However, this is complicated by the fact Jaquen seems to also be skilled at using glamorous magic as his face is described as "melting," at the end of ACOK. Tldr the FM have several techniques to disguise themselves and could possibly have several people using the same disguises to create confusion. But the way I read it, it seems to be heavily implied it's the same person we know as Jaquen although we really have no clue who he truly is. But I think it works either way since loss of identity and people seeing what they want to see is such a recurring theme, not just for Arya but many characters. Sorry to ramble but you raise a very interesting question that bears consideration
That's his undoing. He keeps adding new plots and characters without finding a way to finish the ones he already started. It is why I think the books will never be published while he lives.
Imagine winds doesn’t resolve or progress a single plot thread and only adds new characters. A fake Rheanys that’s actually a Mormont and southern wildlings and the others but they’re made of fire and come to dry out the sea south if Dorne lol. Or Skatis residents using Rickon to invade Essos with Krakens and unicorns before returning to Westeros and other a resurrected Khal Drogo

Oh, and I liked your prediction of Sweet Robin. I have seen a lot of ambivilance if not hostility towards him. At the very least, most fans seem convinced he will die from poison or his "ill health," accelerated by whatever means. I don't recall hearing anyone suggest he will live but your reasoning is definitely valid here. Grrm does allow an 'underdog' character to live on occasion and I can't say I would prefer Robin be spared to any of the other side characters currently in mortal peril, but I don't wish him dead. Yeah he is a brat but look at the psychological and pharmacological attacks he has suffered, and as a child lacking any real parental love or guidance at that. I appeeciate that
i think this video really highlights how ADWD/AFFC ended right before the climax of everyone's stories. all the characters end weeks or even days removed from the endpoint of their book arcs. Jaime and Brienne going to lady stoneheart. Cersei right before her trial. Aegon about to take storms end. and all the sand snakes on their way to finally actively enter the conflict. This is true in the north, too, with all character converging on the battle of ice that is then.. resolved offscreen? if you believe anything that letter says, that is. the only ones that DO end at their logical points are the Meereen and Castle Black plots, which are also the ones with the most chapters dedicated to them. The structure of TWOW is going to be very weird. the first 25% of the book is gonna be the climax (or should i say climaxes) from the previous narrative, and then its gonna have to.. start all over in the middle of the book? and build up to its own climaxes at the end?George has written himself into a big hole here, not only narratively but structurally, and i think this is a big part of why hes having so much trouble with the next book.
That and the fact Dany has completely escaped his gardening techniques. Her prophecys alone (you have to go east to go west, the Asshai stuff) could probably keep her busy for more than the next 2 books. Not to mention the Mereen plot still has to unravel with at least 5 big characters converging. The scrapped 5 year time skip probably helped to make the westeros plot more fluent, but might have really hurt the Essos plot.
You bring up a great point. I hadn't even thought about structural problems of The Winds of Winter. I think it all comes down to this: The story has grown to a point where it cannot be finished in 2 more books (someone somewhere in the internet did an extrapolation on how many more pages are needed to bring every plotline to a close and it was WAY more than what could fit into 2 books; unfortunately I can't find the article anymore). At the same time, Martin is desparate to finish in 7 books total, as he wants to get it done finally. My guess is that this is the reason behind the weird structural issues the final books will have (should they ever be finished). He's trying to squeeze it all in there, with no regard for structural concerns.
Yeah it definitely puts him in a weird spot. Based on how the titles of these books have reflected major plot points, “The Winds of Winter” and “A Dream of Spring” heavily imply that these books will focus more on the threat of winter coming, and taking over. But you can’t just interrupt these storylines with the horn sounding and the wall falling, because that would be a let down considering all the build up. My guess is that the majority of the book will focus on these storylines concluding, as it’s unlikely everything goes to plan in every story, some are sure to have unexpected changes or characters could die suddenly. But near the end or at the end of the book, Euron gains control of the horn of winter (or Sam doesn’t think it’s important and blows it for fun, because that’s what I would do with a random horn I found lol) and blows it, bringing down the wall but also being heard across westeros. And then it’s just utter chaos. Maybe GRRMs prophecy about a certain bloodline being needed to sit on the throne was true, and the “A Dream of Spring” title actually reflects the fact that people are desperate for the winter to end. Maybe it only ends when a certain heir sits the iron throne. Idk I don’t think every one of these story’s will be concluded before stuff hits the fan. Like I doubt Danny will be far into Westeros by the time winter comes. The Golden Company has failed time and time again at usurping the throne, maybe they just fail again. Or maybe it’s proven Aegon isn’t a Targaryen, and instead is a Blackfyre or a nobody, and then everyone just stops caring about his claim lol. Maybe Jon Snow just doesn’t get resurrected. Danny doesn’t make it in time. And Aegon isn’t Aegon. Then there’s no Targaryen sitting the iron throne when the others come, and the old prophecy we see in house of the dragons saying a Targaryen must sit the throne was real and because there isn’t one everyone just dies.
It'll probably be structured like a TV season picking up from the cliffhangers of the last season. Big dramatic opening "episode" followed by the consequences of it, which lead into the character arcs for the book. It could work pretty well. A lot of the cliffhangers are destabilizing events or outright battles. Imagine the book opens on 4 devastating battles and it slowly sinks in for the rest of the book how much those armies should've been pointing their spears north.

The threat of winter should loom over Winds and things will be getting a lot colder, famine might get worse, but I can't imagine Dany even getting to Westeros until near the end of the book. Like, GRRM has her going in the opposite direction at the end of Dance and he's said she won't meet up with Tyrion for "much of the book." So, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if her final chapter is her arriving at Dragonstone. Dream will probably need to have the Long Night and the rest of things happen sort of simultaneously? Like the Others invade, but slowly, the rest of the kingdom hearing rumors of an invasion in the North but waving it off as another Wildling invasion, still fighting their civil wars unknowingly in the apocalypse. Dany might be fighting Aegon as the dead rise in the North lol.
I really think the valonqar is Tyrion, I think it's the last step to make it truly a self-fulfilling prophecy. She assumed it was Tyrion so she makes him the valonqar, she chooses him, she hurt him and those whom he loved, slighted him and diminished him everytime she got an opportunity. And I think it's nice that once her paranoia is right.
I beleive it will be Tommen. The valanquar prophesy came from Cersei asking Maggie about her future children, so he is the valanquar. I think Qyburn will zombify Tommen, and zombie Tommen will kill Cersei. Cersei will be desperate enough to let Qyburn bring Tommen back, even if its just to give the appearance her son king is still alive.
I think faegon will march on king's landing there's no time to waste by adding half a dozen additional povs to a tertiary region like the reach. Kevan's advice to Cersei is potentially a clue and obviously the sort of thing that will occur to jon connington given his tywin obsession will be drawing tarly to their side against mace.
I wanna see all of Eurons pomp and circumstance lead to nothing. I just want to see him standing there waiting for an army of magic fish monsters to kill his enemies and nothing happens.
It really seems heading in that direction to the point where it seems obvious, so I’m leaning towards it not happening. A lot of the visions and prophecies come true in ways you don’t expect. Maybe the vision was symbolic or the prophecy was misinterpreted, but it usually isn’t the thing that’s predicted that happens. For example, in the spin off novels it’s pretty common for Targaryens to have visions or dreams of awakening dragons, and then instead what happens is a Targaryen is born or other symbolic outcomes. I think Euron won’t do a blood magic ritual, but not for a lack of trying. He’s gonna commit heinous acts and might just kill every person involved, but I think him becoming this Kraken beast is more indicative of him gaining power. He claims to have a horn to control dragons, maybe he gains possession of the horn of winter as well, making the most powerful individual alive. And the visions of this twisted squid monster is actually just a symbol of his power and evilness

I also do this and it annoys the hell out of me. Its like an abusive relationship I love ASOIAF --> I look at TWOW predictions --> I realise its been 13 years --> I get angry ---> I don't want to read anymore until TWOW --> I watch an ASOIAF video ---> repeat
Even when you get really salty and decide to read another fantasy book series, you unfortunately realize that there is no book series out there on par with ASOIAF......
@@timangelis8999 after spending hours researching and asking other readers what series they recommend, I can confirm it's really hard finding something else. I really liked The First Law books and Name of the Wind but the large majority of other fantasy works simply are not on the level or anywhere near the level of ASOIAF. So there ARE some great options out there and if you approach with an open mind, they are thourougly enjoyable and worth reading. It's really hard to not compare everything to ASOIAF but it's worth it for your own good

I've thought of something similar these past few weeks. Sam is becoming more and more like Sam the Slayer. I think it's building up to him killing something that's a big deal again. Only I think he will kill Jaqen, not Euron. Euron I think will bring down the wall and then get killed by Daenerys. He'll at least take control of one of her dragons, or kill it or both.
Or, in a cruel twist of fate, Sam is potentially carrying the Horn of Winter, if Oldtown falls Euron could get his hands on it and brings about the downfall of the Wall. I always loved the idea of Euron doing something all the way down in Oldtown and that having a massive chain reaction way up in the far north.
Plot twist: Every time a video like this comes out, GRRM goes, "damn, they figured it out again," throws aside another manuscript, and starts trying to come up with a new ending. They'll never stop guessing, so he'll never stop rewriting, and will die with 99 different endings in stacks in his house.
Great job covering most of the southern plot lines. I've added some additional thoughts on a few. -Rosby inheritance feels like its set up for Bronn to have some major influence there and by extension Tyrion and Dany. It also seems key because its the main supply of food to kings landing. With Kevan and Pycelle dead the Rosby inheritance will lay unresolved for a considerable amount of time and Bronn has control of Stokeworth and Rosby which means he should now wield a tremendous amount of power in the crownlands. The ability to provide food, coin and shelter to those willing to join his side would be extremely powerful in these uncertain times. He could arguably be considered the greatest lord in the crownlands if given enough time to consolidate his power. He just has so much leverage on everyone, it really is going on unnoticed. -Sweet Robin is a prime pawn to be used by Sansa as she has slowly learned to play the game of thrones through Petyr Baleish. If Harry dies with the Arryn line extinguished, it will be fascinating to see if the Royces try to make a play to supplant them in the Vale. Also in the Vale plotline its important not to forget the mountain clans whare are better armed than they've ever been. They will definitely be playing a part in what happens next in the Vale. -The Freys hold on the riverlands is tenuous, the river lords all mislike them, outlaws are running rampant, Nymeria and her large pack are roaming the lands, the Freys are slowly but surely going to be on their way out. Their castle and crossing tax should be prime targets for any young ambitious lords in the North and riverlands. -Ser Bonfier Hasty and his holy hundred is another great sub plot that is not often considered, he has a small but loyal army(the holy hundred), they are well maintained and their loyalty is unquestioned. Interestingly enough he is currently holding Harrenhal in the crown's name. We learn all of this in a AFFC. Another interesting subplot in AFFC is that Cersei reinstituted the Faith Millitant. Because of this, I can easily imagine that Bonifer's holy hundred could become the holy 10,000 in time. Since he's at harrenhal he has more than enough room to house them all. In terms of playing the Game of Thrones: in ADwD(via ser barristan) we learn that he is likely the knight that loved Dany's mother, so he will more than likely be a Dany sympathizer whenever she lands. In terms of the long Night: we could see some really cool stuff from his group if they encounter any wights, walkers or other strange beings since they are all about the faith(old powers are waking, maybe the faith will too). Good stuff is on the horizon.
excellent theory on Ser Bonifer, likely Georges reason for throwing them in the story. however, i just don't get the "Sansa in training" everyone is sure of.
@@MyUserTubeAccount Admittedly her storyline which involves a lot more speculation. I think people are just looking at her situation and trying to figure out how she will affect what happens next. Sansa has been at the mercy of everyone in just about every situation. At some point I would hope she finally starts to take some action instead of depending on everyone. Since she is now basically Sweet Robin's primary caretaker, she is in prime position to start playing the game of thrones. She has no wolf, no magic, no lords or armies to lead. But she's had extensive exposure to many of the biggest schemers in the story; including Cersei, Tyrion and Littlefinger. If she's going to start having an impact on her story I would think it would have to be through scheming and playing the game.

Every time I think about what's happening in Westeros and Essos and where this story could be heading, I understand TWOW's delay. It must be difficult to juggle all the POVs, move the story along, and pay off all the previous setup and foreshadowing. Sometimes I think that two books are not enough to complete the story. Crown is also an anatomical name for the top of the head. All 3 of Cersei's children had golden crowns from the beginning - golden Lannister hair. Thus Myrcella needs not be Queen for that part to work.
Am I the only one who strongly suspects Mace Tyrell is putting on an act so people will underestimate him, and will reveal himself to be a mastermind at some point? Olenna is in on it. Kinda like Wyman Manderly. Mace spending Robert's Rebellion beseiging Storms End was pretty smart. The Tyrells and the Reach got to play loyal to the king, while a not expending thousands of men and tons of resources. If Aerys won, then Mace got to say he loyally supported him. If Robert won, then Mace was just loyally keeping his oath of fielty to the king and swear to do the same for Robert. Anything he does to upset anyone can easily be brushed off as "Mace is just a fool". And he intentionally proposes idiotic ideas he knows will be shot down to further the deception. He knew if his bet on Renly failed, the Lannisters would be desperate for an alliance. He could maintain that Marg's maidenhood was intact because Renly was well known to be gay. And in the end, Marg does become queen. And he raised two of the most skilled knights of the generation in Loras and Garlan. The dude constantly put his house in win-win situations.
In my opinion, Lady Stoneheart will feel a bit pointless if she doesn't get to meet one of her children, Jon or at the very least Edmure before dying again, so I am more inclined to Jaime rolling a 20 in persuasion or deception and convincing her to let him do something else for both of them surviving the encounter. Or Thoros might just sacrifice himself for Jaime, Brianne, Podrick and Ser Hyle Hunt's escape. Also, I believe on Obara's betrayal, but Areo is the only POV on Dorne, but George only kills POV characters that aren't prologue or epilogue when another POV is watching (Sansa and Cersei watched Ned's death, Areo killed and Arianne watched Arys' death, Barristan watched Quentyn's death) or when the POV will get ressurrected (Cat and Jon Snow). Areo Hotah only dies in the confrontation if GRRM adds Obara, Ser Balon or Darkstar as POVs, if some other POV gets all the way to Last Hermitage or if Areo gets ressurrected.
I think the "castle made of snow" also references the scene where sansa makes a snow castle in the eyrie before littfelinger kisses her. Compared to that he'd be a giant.
I suspect this "castle" is what is being prophesied - the savage giant would be Robert and the doll he uses to smash it, a doll Sansa takes from him and tears.
"Gold will be their crowns" could also refer to the color of their hair. And specifically saying they have golden crowns could also have another meaning saying that they won't actually be Baratheons but bastards. The color of their hair is an important detail in the story anyways
Have you considered that after Tommens death the throne passes to Myrcella? If that happens Doran Martell has all the cards, he has her as has hostage and shes betrothed to Trystane, Dornes support to Aegon is far from secure, especially if it revealed hes a Blackfyre. Plus Aegon is not going to marry anybody from Westeros.
@@MrFredstt His legitimacy is doubted across the realm. Marrying a confirmed Targaryen with Dragons eliminates all those doubts and would give dragons to his cause.

It would look good for him to liberate Oldtown from attack but he does not give me Aegon the conqueror vibes in the slightest. More like a rich kid whose parents are paving the way for him. Nothing wrong with that but he's obviously not a self made King like the conqueror, he has no Aura. Maybe that will change in the next book, we'll see.

The theory that Young Griff is a secret Blackfyre through the female line and that his mother was Illyrio's wife & Varys's sister is too good to not be true. At this point, if he truly is Rhaegar's son then I'll be disappointed
I don't think it makes any sense for him to be a true Targ. Then again, I think the motivations of Varys are all over the place, so I'm curious to see where it all ends up. Jon Con and FAegon have become really anticipated in this wait for more books

I am so glad I found your videos. I began re-reading the books in anticipation of TWOW so I can get straight what happens in the books rather than the show.
I think Brienne might be Jaime's Nissa Nissa. I'm not certain, but Gendry is there forging swords, and i would say Jaime loves Brienne more than anything else in this world. In his Weirwood dream Cersei says "when the light dies, so must you." but Brienne's sword still glows. they're bound to each other somehow. I think Valyrian Steel is made with sacrifice, but not a willing sacrifice, like Azor Ahai's sword (probably Dawn, which is white as milk-glass) Maybe that is the signifigance in Tobo Mott's inability to affect the color of the blade.

That's my theory. The valanquar prophesy comes in response to Cersei asking if she will have children. The way the prophesy is worded definately seems clear Maggie is refering to the valanquar of her children. Tommen will die, Cersei will be desperate for Qyburn to bring him back like he did Gregor. If Tommen dies, Cersei's last source of power in KL is gone.

The giant and the castle built of snow is just Sweet Robin destroying Sansas snow Winterfell I think. For which she hits him. I think george just adds that so that we know for sure it’s Sansa the old crone was speaking of.
Ya know, if Young Griff's mother is a Blackfyre, then technically he himself isn't a Blackfyre then. I say this since by most Westerosi and some Essosi customs, the family mame/House inheritance goes through the male line. If he allies with Dany and accepts he's not really Rhaegar's son, then, they could decide he'll be the start of a new Valyrian noble house.
I think you are spot on regarding Brienne's storyline. The big man himself said the only thing worth writing about is the human heart in conflict with itself. Brienne's story mirroring that of Jaime's is so good, *chef's kiss

Thoughts on Aegon getting killed before Daenerys shows up (possibly whilst fighting Euron throughout The Reach) as per the non-subtle foreshadowing in his Cyvasse game with Tyrion in ADWD? “Your dragon is too far away to save you. I just hope Jamie doesn't die immediately. He's definitely my favorite character arc in the whole story right now. Plus I was never a fan of Catelyn Stark, and have no patience for Stoneheart.
I can only see Lady Stoneheart being used to resurrect Jon Snow (if he is dead) and give him Robb's crown once she learns the truth of Jon's identity. There really is no other use for her character; killing her off any other way would make her whole arc pointless. Ofc Thoros will make sure Brienne and Jaime escape
I am imagining Sam and Aleras running around Oldtown like a cartoon game of keepaway with Euron hot on their trail and Pate hot on his. The Oldtown stuff is gonna be wild if we ever get it.
I think Samwell will get wrapped up with the Euron plot somehow, and Sam will learn things very important about the Others and Azor Ahai and he will carry this knowledge in secret until the right moment.
I wonder if Euron summoning a Kraken may be less crazy blood magic supercharged by mass sacrifice, and more just using a massive amount of blood to bait at least one Kraken and then skinchanging it. It's implied Euron is a skinchanger and possible former pupil of Bloodraven. And being a former pupil of Bloodraven means Euron is likely around Bloodraven and Bran's strength in terms of skinchanging and Greenseer magic, since Bran's purpose seems to be to be Bloodraven's replacement. In order for the consciousness of the Last Greenseer to survive, it needs to continuously implant itself in the minds of greenseers strong enough to skinchange other humans (or Children of the Forest), as their power doesn't come with them. They rely on the power of their new host. So that means if anyone has the mental will to control a kraken, it's Bran, Bloodraven or Euron. And it would also explain Aeron's vision of Euron as a squid monster. A skinchanger's connection goes both ways. If Euron skinchanges a kraken, it may be of such a strong will that it projects itself through Euron, although given it's less intelligent, Euron likely still has the reigns (although it'd be interesting if Ironborn commanders remarked that after the battle, Euron basically turns into a gibbering half wit for like a week before coming back to his senses, initially being overwhelmed by the kraken before he could control it, with it not understanding what a human body even is, let alone what it's supposed to do with one). And any skinchanging pirate's dream would be to have a kraken under his command. What better ace in the whole could you have? It's the size of a whale, likely highly intelligent (given octopuses are) and has eight limbs for attacking a ship, whereas a skinchanged whale could only ram one.
1:09:30 - I think Sam has the Horn of Winter but it's currently broken. Euron had a vision of the horn being in Oldtown and knows how to fix it. Euron's blood sacrifice will fix the horn. At which point Euron will come "confiscate" it from Sam, blow it and bring down the Hightower as well as cause a seaquake ("krakens from the deep") that devastates what's left of the enemy fleet and then sail to Eastwatch on the Silence and blow it to bring down the wall.
Many fans suspect that Sam will put all his archery training to good use and, like the huntsman on the Tarley sigil, use a bow and arrow to slay Euron. With all the rhetoric and imagery around Euron and his eye(s), it’s likely that Sam will put an arrow through one of Euron’s eyes

@@evanyurko3640 End of ACOK, "Jaquen" changes faces in front of Arya. The new face is described as having tight, dark curls of hair and a hooked nose, same as the fellow described at the end of AFFC. I assume from Arya's later storyline (in the "mask" room) with the Kindly man; that the FM have a collection of face "masks" that they can select from when going on a mission. Due to Arya's bizarre, seemingly telepathic experience when she sees the memories of the face's owner when she puts it on, each mask is "unique," and only one person can wear that face at a time. However, this is complicated by the fact Jaquen seems to also be skilled at using glamorous magic as his face is described as "melting," at the end of ACOK.
Tldr the FM have several techniques to disguise themselves and could possibly have several people using the same disguises to create confusion. But the way I read it, it seems to be heavily implied it's the same person we know as Jaquen although we really have no clue who he truly is. But I think it works either way since loss of identity and people seeing what they want to see is such a recurring theme, not just for Arya but many characters. Sorry to ramble but you raise a very interesting question that bears consideration

Oh, and I liked your prediction of Sweet Robin. I have seen a lot of ambivilance if not hostility towards him. At the very least, most fans seem convinced he will die from poison or his "ill health," accelerated by whatever means. I don't recall hearing anyone suggest he will live but your reasoning is definitely valid here. Grrm does allow an 'underdog' character to live on occasion and I can't say I would prefer Robin be spared to any of the other side characters currently in mortal peril, but I don't wish him dead. Yeah he is a brat but look at the psychological and pharmacological attacks he has suffered, and as a child lacking any real parental love or guidance at that. I appeeciate that
i think this video really highlights how ADWD/AFFC ended right before the climax of everyone's stories. all the characters end weeks or even days removed from the endpoint of their book arcs. Jaime and Brienne going to lady stoneheart. Cersei right before her trial. Aegon about to take storms end. and all the sand snakes on their way to finally actively enter the conflict. This is true in the north, too, with all character converging on the battle of ice that is then.. resolved offscreen? if you believe anything that letter says, that is. the only ones that DO end at their logical points are the Meereen and Castle Black plots, which are also the ones with the most chapters dedicated to them.
The structure of TWOW is going to be very weird. the first 25% of the book is gonna be the climax (or should i say climaxes) from the previous narrative, and then its gonna have to.. start all over in the middle of the book? and build up to its own climaxes at the end?George has written himself into a big hole here, not only narratively but structurally, and i think this is a big part of why hes having so much trouble with the next book.
That and the fact Dany has completely escaped his gardening techniques. Her prophecys alone (you have to go east to go west, the Asshai stuff) could probably keep her busy for more than the next 2 books.
Not to mention the Mereen plot still has to unravel with at least 5 big characters converging. The scrapped 5 year time skip probably helped to make the westeros plot more fluent, but might have really hurt the Essos plot.
You bring up a great point. I hadn't even thought about structural problems of The Winds of Winter. I think it all comes down to this: The story has grown to a point where it cannot be finished in 2 more books (someone somewhere in the internet did an extrapolation on how many more pages are needed to bring every plotline to a close and it was WAY more than what could fit into 2 books; unfortunately I can't find the article anymore). At the same time, Martin is desparate to finish in 7 books total, as he wants to get it done finally. My guess is that this is the reason behind the weird structural issues the final books will have (should they ever be finished). He's trying to squeeze it all in there, with no regard for structural concerns.
Yeah it definitely puts him in a weird spot. Based on how the titles of these books have reflected major plot points, “The Winds of Winter” and “A Dream of Spring” heavily imply that these books will focus more on the threat of winter coming, and taking over. But you can’t just interrupt these storylines with the horn sounding and the wall falling, because that would be a let down considering all the build up.
My guess is that the majority of the book will focus on these storylines concluding, as it’s unlikely everything goes to plan in every story, some are sure to have unexpected changes or characters could die suddenly. But near the end or at the end of the book, Euron gains control of the horn of winter (or Sam doesn’t think it’s important and blows it for fun, because that’s what I would do with a random horn I found lol) and blows it, bringing down the wall but also being heard across westeros. And then it’s just utter chaos. Maybe GRRMs prophecy about a certain bloodline being needed to sit on the throne was true, and the “A Dream of Spring” title actually reflects the fact that people are desperate for the winter to end. Maybe it only ends when a certain heir sits the iron throne.
Idk I don’t think every one of these story’s will be concluded before stuff hits the fan. Like I doubt Danny will be far into Westeros by the time winter comes. The Golden Company has failed time and time again at usurping the throne, maybe they just fail again. Or maybe it’s proven Aegon isn’t a Targaryen, and instead is a Blackfyre or a nobody, and then everyone just stops caring about his claim lol.
Maybe Jon Snow just doesn’t get resurrected. Danny doesn’t make it in time. And Aegon isn’t Aegon. Then there’s no Targaryen sitting the iron throne when the others come, and the old prophecy we see in house of the dragons saying a Targaryen must sit the throne was real and because there isn’t one everyone just dies.
It'll probably be structured like a TV season picking up from the cliffhangers of the last season. Big dramatic opening "episode" followed by the consequences of it, which lead into the character arcs for the book. It could work pretty well. A lot of the cliffhangers are destabilizing events or outright battles. Imagine the book opens on 4 devastating battles and it slowly sinks in for the rest of the book how much those armies should've been pointing their spears north.

The threat of winter should loom over Winds and things will be getting a lot colder, famine might get worse, but I can't imagine Dany even getting to Westeros until near the end of the book. Like, GRRM has her going in the opposite direction at the end of Dance and he's said she won't meet up with Tyrion for "much of the book." So, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if her final chapter is her arriving at Dragonstone. Dream will probably need to have the Long Night and the rest of things happen sort of simultaneously? Like the Others invade, but slowly, the rest of the kingdom hearing rumors of an invasion in the North but waving it off as another Wildling invasion, still fighting their civil wars unknowingly in the apocalypse. Dany might be fighting Aegon as the dead rise in the North lol.
I really think the valonqar is Tyrion, I think it's the last step to make it truly a self-fulfilling prophecy. She assumed it was Tyrion so she makes him the valonqar, she chooses him, she hurt him and those whom he loved, slighted him and diminished him everytime she got an opportunity. And I think it's nice that once her paranoia is right.
Tyrion also states in Chapter 44 of A Clash Of Kings: "I used to dream that one day I'd be rich enough to send a Faceless Man after my sweet sister."

I beleive it will be Tommen. The valanquar prophesy came from Cersei asking Maggie about her future children, so he is the valanquar. I think Qyburn will zombify Tommen, and zombie Tommen will kill Cersei. Cersei will be desperate enough to let Qyburn bring Tommen back, even if its just to give the appearance her son king is still alive.
It can’t be Tyrion because that’s who Cersei thinks the valonquar is. Just not GRRMs writing style for the prophecy to play out that way

Kevan's advice to Cersei is potentially a clue and obviously the sort of thing that will occur to jon connington given his tywin obsession will be drawing tarly to their side against mace.

It really seems heading in that direction to the point where it seems obvious, so I’m leaning towards it not happening.
A lot of the visions and prophecies come true in ways you don’t expect. Maybe the vision was symbolic or the prophecy was misinterpreted, but it usually isn’t the thing that’s predicted that happens.
For example, in the spin off novels it’s pretty common for Targaryens to have visions or dreams of awakening dragons, and then instead what happens is a Targaryen is born or other symbolic outcomes.
I think Euron won’t do a blood magic ritual, but not for a lack of trying. He’s gonna commit heinous acts and might just kill every person involved, but I think him becoming this Kraken beast is more indicative of him gaining power. He claims to have a horn to control dragons, maybe he gains possession of the horn of winter as well, making the most powerful individual alive. And the visions of this twisted squid monster is actually just a symbol of his power and evilness

@@timangelis8999 after spending hours researching and asking other readers what series they recommend, I can confirm it's really hard finding something else. I really liked The First Law books and Name of the Wind but the large majority of other fantasy works simply are not on the level or anywhere near the level of ASOIAF. So there ARE some great options out there and if you approach with an open mind, they are thourougly enjoyable and worth reading. It's really hard to not compare everything to ASOIAF but it's worth it for your own good

I've thought of something similar these past few weeks. Sam is becoming more and more like Sam the Slayer. I think it's building up to him killing something that's a big deal again. Only I think he will kill Jaqen, not Euron. Euron I think will bring down the wall and then get killed by Daenerys. He'll at least take control of one of her dragons, or kill it or both.
Or, in a cruel twist of fate, Sam is potentially carrying the Horn of Winter, if Oldtown falls Euron could get his hands on it and brings about the downfall of the Wall. I always loved the idea of Euron doing something all the way down in Oldtown and that having a massive chain reaction way up in the far north.

Plot twist: Every time a video like this comes out, GRRM goes, "damn, they figured it out again," throws aside another manuscript, and starts trying to come up with a new ending. They'll never stop guessing, so he'll never stop rewriting, and will die with 99 different endings in stacks in his house.
Great job covering most of the southern plot lines. I've added some additional thoughts on a few.
-Rosby inheritance feels like its set up for Bronn to have some major influence there and by extension Tyrion and Dany. It also seems key because its the main supply of food to kings landing. With Kevan and Pycelle dead the Rosby inheritance will lay unresolved for a considerable amount of time and Bronn has control of Stokeworth and Rosby which means he should now wield a tremendous amount of power in the crownlands. The ability to provide food, coin and shelter to those willing to join his side would be extremely powerful in these uncertain times. He could arguably be considered the greatest lord in the crownlands if given enough time to consolidate his power. He just has so much leverage on everyone, it really is going on unnoticed.
-Sweet Robin is a prime pawn to be used by Sansa as she has slowly learned to play the game of thrones through Petyr Baleish. If Harry dies with the Arryn line extinguished, it will be fascinating to see if the Royces try to make a play to supplant them in the Vale. Also in the Vale plotline its important not to forget the mountain clans whare are better armed than they've ever been. They will definitely be playing a part in what happens next in the Vale.
-The Freys hold on the riverlands is tenuous, the river lords all mislike them, outlaws are running rampant, Nymeria and her large pack are roaming the lands, the Freys are slowly but surely going to be on their way out. Their castle and crossing tax should be prime targets for any young ambitious lords in the North and riverlands.
-Ser Bonfier Hasty and his holy hundred is another great sub plot that is not often considered, he has a small but loyal army(the holy hundred), they are well maintained and their loyalty is unquestioned. Interestingly enough he is currently holding Harrenhal in the crown's name. We learn all of this in a AFFC. Another interesting subplot in AFFC is that Cersei reinstituted the Faith Millitant. Because of this, I can easily imagine that Bonifer's holy hundred could become the holy 10,000 in time. Since he's at harrenhal he has more than enough room to house them all. In terms of playing the Game of Thrones: in ADwD(via ser barristan) we learn that he is likely the knight that loved Dany's mother, so he will more than likely be a Dany sympathizer whenever she lands. In terms of the long Night: we could see some really cool stuff from his group if they encounter any wights, walkers or other strange beings since they are all about the faith(old powers are waking, maybe the faith will too).
Good stuff is on the horizon.
excellent theory on Ser Bonifer, likely Georges reason for throwing them in the story. however, i just don't get the "Sansa in training" everyone is sure of.
@@MyUserTubeAccount Admittedly her storyline which involves a lot more speculation. I think people are just looking at her situation and trying to figure out how she will affect what happens next. Sansa has been at the mercy of everyone in just about every situation.
At some point I would hope she finally starts to take some action instead of depending on everyone. Since she is now basically Sweet Robin's primary caretaker, she is in prime position to start playing the game of thrones. She has no wolf, no magic, no lords or armies to lead. But she's had extensive exposure to many of the biggest schemers in the story; including Cersei, Tyrion and Littlefinger. If she's going to start having an impact on her story I would think it would have to be through scheming and playing the game.

Every time I think about what's happening in Westeros and Essos and where this story could be heading, I understand TWOW's delay.
It must be difficult to juggle all the POVs, move the story along, and pay off all the previous setup and foreshadowing.

Am I the only one who strongly suspects Mace Tyrell is putting on an act so people will underestimate him, and will reveal himself to be a mastermind at some point? Olenna is in on it.

Mace spending Robert's Rebellion beseiging Storms End was pretty smart. The Tyrells and the Reach got to play loyal to the king, while a not expending thousands of men and tons of resources. If Aerys won, then Mace got to say he loyally supported him. If Robert won, then Mace was just loyally keeping his oath of fielty to the king and swear to do the same for Robert.
Anything he does to upset anyone can easily be brushed off as "Mace is just a fool". And he intentionally proposes idiotic ideas he knows will be shot down to further the deception.
He knew if his bet on Renly failed, the Lannisters would be desperate for an alliance. He could maintain that Marg's maidenhood was intact because Renly was well known to be gay. And in the end, Marg does become queen.
And he raised two of the most skilled knights of the generation in Loras and Garlan.

In my opinion, Lady Stoneheart will feel a bit pointless if she doesn't get to meet one of her children, Jon or at the very least Edmure before dying again, so I am more inclined to Jaime rolling a 20 in persuasion or deception and convincing her to let him do something else for both of them surviving the encounter. Or Thoros might just sacrifice himself for Jaime, Brianne, Podrick and Ser Hyle Hunt's escape.
Also, I believe on Obara's betrayal, but Areo is the only POV on Dorne, but George only kills POV characters that aren't prologue or epilogue when another POV is watching (Sansa and Cersei watched Ned's death, Areo killed and Arianne watched Arys' death, Barristan watched Quentyn's death) or when the POV will get ressurrected (Cat and Jon Snow). Areo Hotah only dies in the confrontation if GRRM adds Obara, Ser Balon or Darkstar as POVs, if some other POV gets all the way to Last Hermitage or if Areo gets ressurrected.

I think the "castle made of snow" also references the scene where sansa makes a snow castle in the eyrie before littfelinger kisses her. Compared to that he'd be a giant.
I suspect this "castle" is what is being prophesied - the savage giant would be Robert and the doll he uses to smash it, a doll Sansa takes from him and tears.

If that happens Doran Martell has all the cards, he has her as has hostage and shes betrothed to Trystane, Dornes support to Aegon is far from secure, especially if it revealed hes a Blackfyre. I don't think it makes any sense for him to be a true Targ. Then again, I think the motivations of Varys are all over the place, so I'm curious to see where it all ends up. Jon Con and FAegon have become really anticipated in this wait for more books

I think Brienne might be Jaime's Nissa Nissa. I'm not certain, but Gendry is there forging swords, and i would say Jaime loves Brienne more than anything else in this world. In his Weirwood dream Cersei says "when the light dies, so must you." but Brienne's sword still glows. they're bound to each other somehow. I think Valyrian Steel is made with sacrifice, but not a willing sacrifice, like Azor Ahai's sword (probably Dawn, which is white as milk-glass) Maybe that is the signifigance in Tobo Mott's inability to affect the color of the blade.

That's my theory. The valanquar prophesy comes in response to Cersei asking if she will have children. The way the prophesy is worded definately seems clear Maggie is refering to the valanquar of her children. Tommen will die, Cersei will be desperate for Qyburn to bring him back like he did Gregor. If Tommen dies, Cersei's last source of power in KL is gone.

I can only see Lady Stoneheart being used to resurrect Jon Snow (if he is dead) and give him Robb's crown once she learns the truth of Jon's identity. There really is no other use for her character; killing her off any other way would make her whole arc pointless. Ofc Thoros will make sure Brienne and Jaime escape

I love that Eron has the infinite kings blood trick down by killing his own children. Hopefully the curse of being a kinslayer, catches up with him.
I wonder if Euron summoning a Kraken may be less crazy blood magic supercharged by mass sacrifice, and more just using a massive amount of blood to bait at least one Kraken and then skinchanging it. It's implied Euron is a skinchanger and possible former pupil of Bloodraven.
And being a former pupil of Bloodraven means Euron is likely around Bloodraven and Bran's strength in terms of skinchanging and Greenseer magic, since Bran's purpose seems to be to be Bloodraven's replacement. In order for the consciousness of the Last Greenseer to survive, it needs to continuously implant itself in the minds of greenseers strong enough to skinchange other humans (or Children of the Forest), as their power doesn't come with them. They rely on the power of their new host.
So that means if anyone has the mental will to control a kraken, it's Bran, Bloodraven or Euron. And it would also explain Aeron's vision of Euron as a squid monster. A skinchanger's connection goes both ways. If Euron skinchanges a kraken, it may be of such a strong will that it projects itself through Euron, although given it's less intelligent, Euron likely still has the reigns (although it'd be interesting if Ironborn commanders remarked that after the battle, Euron basically turns into a gibbering half wit for like a week before coming back to his senses, initially being overwhelmed by the kraken before he could control it, with it not understanding what a human body even is, let alone what it's supposed to do with one).
And any skinchanging pirate's dream would be to have a kraken under his command. What better ace in the whole could you have? It's the size of a whale, likely highly intelligent (given octopuses are) and has eight limbs for attacking a ship, whereas a skinchanged whale could only ram one.

1:09:30 - I think Sam has the Horn of Winter but it's currently broken. Euron had a vision of the horn being in Oldtown and knows how to fix it. Euron's blood sacrifice will fix the horn. At which point Euron will come "confiscate" it from Sam, blow it and bring down the Hightower as well as cause a seaquake ("krakens from the deep") that devastates what's left of the enemy fleet and then sail to Eastwatch on the Silence and blow it to bring down the wall.
The books are so much interesting with lots of interesting characters. It's a shame how the shows ended
