Pixel last time it was on, if you noticed, the battery was like 10%, so it survived !!!

My EarPods were inside the pocket and my mom put them in the washer, but they survive. So its possible.

Thats what I've been questioning myself, why didn't they charge it. The battery could either be drained from such torture.

And actually if they want a much more fair test, do that on a new iPhone 4S, not a dropped one, cause the dropped one probably had a deformed edge of screen and frame joint. Which let the water in to destroy everything.

I know absolutely no one will see this, but those issues with the screen going purple after the drop is actually not damage to the screen it is damage to the logic board, which I know because after it was dropped it no longer recognize the Sim card

Meagen Kasey they still make iphone 4s ? i remembered having one back in 2012, it was my best iphone ever. The 6 is kinda flimsy and hollow , a simple fall could dent the sides upon impact.
I have an iPhone 4s worried like you but someone swung on a lamp post and threw it out of my hands right into the road WHEN A CAR WAS COMING!!! I felt sick I wanted to cry but I said you have to pay for it if it's broken but everything's fine it didn't break or get ran over luckily I had a case on my iPhone my iPhone had a superman case if I had any other case I think it would of broken.
Stop Bullying my 4s had its wifi broken, so i changed to a 5s , and changed to a 6 cause why not.

my iphone was in a 15 ft deep pond for 5 and a half hours after an unfortunate fishing accident, ( i casted out and fell out of my jacket pocket ) but i took it home and put it in rice bag and 30 minutes later it came on, but wouldnt hold charge so i took the battery out and put it back in and now it works perfectly, using it today (:

I have a black 4S and I swear its indestructible! I dropped it face down on tile nothing, sprayed it with a garden hose nothing, left it in a hot car in Tucson, nothing! What did crack the screen was I tripped and fell on something and landed on my phone. It was in my pocket.

Greg Cornes. Of yea. They break at the least expecting times. My frond yesterday shattered his iPhone 6 by dropping it on carpet with a glass screen protector. He was in class and it just fell out of his pocket.

guys there is no iphone battery can hold 3 days so you can't consider it not surviving in the last test of the washing machine so you need to try charging it first and then try to turn on on see if it survives or not

Why didn't you try to plug it in? And almost all of these tests are really unfair since you test stuff.. and then test something else... how do I know if my iPhone will survive in the oven when you freeze it down with the same iPhone? If one of these scenearios would happen it probably wouldn't happen after something else..
For the wildcard, you should've done a test in both the washer and dryer. Sometimes, people forget their iPhones are in their pockets, and don't even care about them until they've realized they've been in the washer and dryer.

I guess it depends on how you drop it, my mother drops hers frequently without a case and has luckily survived so far with just a little cuff on the edges.

That purple line happened to mine and all I had to do to fix it was hold the power and home button for 20 seconds. and then turn it back on.

I almost cried while watching this.
The purple line means that the screen connector has been damaged. It may work again after reseating (as suggests the sporadic "blue screen of death"), but it may as well be simply dead.
it was much more likely to be a fractured logic board because after the first drop it stopped recognizing the Sim card

But how is that possible dropping that iphone at tall heights and even down the stairs going even farther down especially without a case? I had a case on my iphone 4 and it dropped only 6 inches on concrete and it shattered all over the back. Even dropping it on the back about 1 foot on hard ground and the front cracked all across the screen I'm not over exaggerating but it's true it happened

I think you can account for the battery going flat in the freezer to the phone searching for a signal. Id be interested to see what would happen if it was put in there with airplane mode enabled.

Refrigerating batteries is a sure fire way to have them go to sleep. When I work outside in the cold, I have special heaters for my photographic batteries to keep them nice and warm and therefore, working.
Did you ever consider trying to charge the phone after the wash?
Notice how the phone is never dropped on the edges and never tested with something sharp, like the glass hitting some pointy edge?
