That's impossible. Any Gorilla Glass cannot withstand that much pressure. It would definitely shatter, no matter what phone without any cases (unless it's something soft that you are dropping it at)
***** You have a 6s - which apple tries to optimise the most as it is apple main source of profit on iPhones - 6 and below are mostly forgotton in terms on optimisations - i have a 5s which runs fine on ios 7 and 8 but anything above is a nightmare. My old 4s ran ios 8 but it was designed for ios 5 - it was slightly usable but ios 9 on iphone 4s was just a joke.
This is the kind of tests I was looking for. Not just some guys throwing their iPhone on the street. I wouldn't use it inside a freezer or an oven though but it's nice to know it survives all that.
I noticed that the iphone 5 said no service on it, unlike the 4s that was on Tmobile and Wifi during testing. I think the battery drain for the 4S was due to it searching for a signal from inside the freezer. Perhaps all phones should have the sims removed or be put into airplane mode to check for this? Love the torture tests!
the water test amazed me! I dropped a black berry bold in water for like 2 seconds and it was done. I think an I phone 5 with a decent case would be a pretty good daily phone.
Also, Molly, you should have tested the headphone jack, speakers and audio through connection to the charging port, after the water test. These parts of my iPhone 5 were all affected and/or ruined (speakers) after just a few drops of water, yet alone full submersion like in this test. Just a tip for the future.
The S3 had direct light like 2inch away from it plus the phone is cheap plastic and didn't melt. The oven was hotter, but it had to heat up to 200 first slowly instead of almost instant like the lights. Pretty similar test. Marble is one of the hardest surfaces around, but concret does have like little spikes since its rough. S3 again is just plastic compared to painted aluminum so it wouldn't of been half as bad. However idk why they don't have a standard test for all phones that's the same.
Just one thing, please check to make sure all the hardware (that includes the sensors, camera, headphone jack, speaker, etc) are also working totally fine...my friend dropped his iphone 4 from the roof of my house and luckily it survived....but later at home when he fired up the camera, he found the camera was dysfunctional....same thing happened with my friends Note 2 but also included the malfunction of the s-pen
Well that's the main thing is that all the damage just looks like crap, but didn't actually affect the phone's performance. People have complained to apple that the backs get scratched very easy and apple just said it's coated aluminum and having the bare metal shine through is what is supposed to happen. While the S3 is cheap plastic so it won't scratch or break. Only gonna cost you like $2 to get a new cheap back if it does anyway
Your point is? I think it is to show how strong the back is with the aluminium and glass combo, since it's generally known to be tough. Since the S3 uses plastic, the outcome will be pretty obvious(which is that it will get scratched since it's plastic vs concrete).
its just the casing I think. The iphone 5 has a metal case which is rigid while the S3 case is flimsy so that might have something to do with Iphone's ability to scratch easier.
Issue number one: With the iphone 5 she slid the phone across rough pavement and dropped down a few extra stairs once and dropped from shoulder/head height 3 times. With the s3 she dropped the phone from about shoulder height only 3 times. The heat test she cooked the iphone 5 to 200 degrees and checked it immediately upon taking it out of the oven. With the s3 she used heat lamps that only "sunbathed" the phone to 140 degrees and on top of that she gave it 10/15 minutes before checking it
The biggest problem I have with this series of torture tests is the heat test. The insides of cars on summer days can get hot I can agree with this ,but I doubt the inside of a car would be 200 degrees Fahrenheit. I could see possibly dropping it in a fire then quickly getting it out with a stick or something that would be a plausible test. But 200 degrees for an hour is a little much. That would probably kill anything.
so you telling me hat it survived being baked, froze, and put in water, but a little slide across the ground it failed? lmao that's funny to me. but apple makes REALLY great quality phones, I just think they kinda fell off track when they created the 5c..but I love apple!! I had the iPhone 4 and now I have the 5s and I love it. i recommend anyone to get it!
I've dropped my iPhone 5 so many times including hard tile floors and outdoor paths it just has dents in the corners and the screen is slightly detached in the top right corner, the back and front sides are fine though its weird that you have scratches on the screen after only 5 days I've had my phone a whole year without that problem and I carry it around in my purse all the time ..
True but the main scratch damages on the back were caused by sliding the iphone 5 over the rocky concrete floor. If it wasn't for that, the only real damage probably would have been a crack on the corner glass in the back.
When I was young, I left my iPod in a car for a whole week during the winter. The car was sitting for a week at the airport because of a vacay and iPod was fine.
You don't put it in a bag of rice, but in bredcrumbs ... If you can,you take the back of and blow it with a hair drier. I gave my cheepest phone a wash in the washing machine, got it out, blow it,and it was just fine.A little watery sign on the inside of the screen but after blowing it and few days after,it completely recovered and i'm using it today too. Also,it keeps the battery for 1 MONTH,not 5 hours like the crappy ifon ...

That's impossible. Any Gorilla Glass cannot withstand that much pressure. It would definitely shatter, no matter what phone without any cases (unless it's something soft that you are dropping it at)
I had a case
Why not get a Screen protector so it doesn't scratch in Your Purse

+ItZz JoK3rZz Yeah, At the store They'll say, Not our problem, we use screen protectors.

I forget about this show it was the best watching 5 years after I orgnley watched it 2015-2020
Why are they using the oldest iOS
Because this video was made in 2012. The newest ios back then was ios 6
+Miguel Marcelino thanks

Totally agree! I love the new Windows Phone 8X and the new HTC One coming out!

totally agree, with the proper case too you will protect it from being scratched when you put it in your car or on your desk.
Great video!

Ya'll should do a test on the Otter Box Armor Series for the iPhone 5!
I use the 6 one , but 5 is soo beautiful , love it
Bring it back!

3:04 oh yes I took off the cover of my iphone and said lets slide my new iphone yeah!!!
Proffesional video !
Chances of forgetting your phone in the freezer: Possible.
Chances of putting your phone in the Owen: Ridiculous.
Sometimes people bring into the Sauna....which I have and that temperature warning did go on.
you make me laugh every time! Oh, no a Bee! and you destroy it

She found the bee ambers dog stepped on lol
Yeah, it's absolutely brilliant. I couldn't ever want more.
That is a very nice kitchen you are working in
I've had mine now since it came out and the screen is fine
I love how the shoulder height was up to her ear and ear height was above her head..@
Don’t you just hate it when you throw your phone at a bee
hahah why i find it amusing when she says "oh no a bee" at 3:56
it's a torture test. it's testing to the extreme.
The biggest problem I have with this series of torture tests is the heat test. Yep, getting paid to test these phones so people like you and I can watch.
bel video complimenti
Lol @ "Take it back to the store, see what they say" :)
i love how molly says "lets drop it from ear hight " and then she drops it from over her head
so you telling me hat it survived being baked, froze, and put in water, but a little slide across the ground it failed? lmao that's funny to me. but apple makes REALLY great quality phones, I just think they kinda fell off track when they created the 5c..but I love apple!! Its so satisfaing to watch this.
It's called a screen protector I had mines since day one. Of this month and is lperfect
in the end theres something called a SCREEN PROTECTOR. it is not a case, its a addon.
My mom dropped hers and it cracked. I think you guys make it tougher just like all the apple products
this is more torture than "will it blend"
The first two test is pretty much teaching you how to cook food
direct sunlight visibility is as good as ever.
When I was young, I left my iPod in a car for a whole week during the winter. The car was sitting for a week at the airport because of a vacay and iPod was fine.
It's CENT, They are one of the biggest online tech news media. They don't care about an broken iPhone.
we need a torture test of 5s and 5c
My friend's iPhone 5 back panel is the same all scratched.
I like how she says "ear height" and raises it above her head to drop it. Didn't know your ears are located inches above your head.
i enjoyed this
There are screen projector on the iPhone 5 from the start.
You don't put it in a bag of rice, but in bredcrumbs ...
If you can,you take the back of and blow it with a hair drier.

Awsome video
Shuffle puck? When will that happen?!?!
By the way, you should do a separate test for the white iPhone since we all know the black one tends to show more scratches.
I had an iPhone 4 and now have a Samsung S3 watching both the torture tests I don't think you was quite fair on the surfaces to drop the phones on
look at that ghost effect on the screen damn
Нервы не выдерживают смотреть!
the S3 torture test was done on the house flooring, but the iPhone was done on concrete!!
COLD IS GOOD FOR ELECTRONICS!!! YOURE BASICALLY GIVING THE IPHONE A MASSAGE
Your point? It still survived every test.
