- It's been exactly one week since MultiVersus re-released, and since then there's already been A TON of changes in the game's meta. So today I'm re-ranking the entire roster, giving my thoughts on who's still an early-release threat and who needs some work...

I think the reason nobody uses Black Adam is less about how good he is and more about people not caring for Adam as a character.
i like him as a character but i've never been able to try his kit before so i probably wont grab him for a while
He is too hard to use for the average player
A lot of his kit is hard for beginners and he’s slower compared to most characters
@@Kareem-si7bg imo his kit is not that hard, specially since he got really easy to use strong attacks like nair, that said, some of his other moves are very situational
I love black Adam, he was my main in the beta but Jason has taken that spot

I’m a truly garbage platform player and not a Wonder main, so I’m honestly asking here, but like… is Banana a bad matchup for her?
Because she so obviously feels really strong otherwise, but I am currently _completely stumped_ on what she’s supposed to do against a gorilla Banana.
I feel like he outranges her so badly that it’s quite difficult to whiff punish him effectively, even when you’re successfully baiting out his attacks.
And maybe this is all just less of an issue when you’re good enough to parry more consistently, but also then, like… doesn’t that sound like pretty shaky grounds for (attempting to build up) an entire consistent matchup strategy??
I’m a longtime traditional fighting game player, so I’m wondering (no pun intended haha) if my old biases are totally blinding me from seeing an obvious answer here.

@@deadfr0gFrom my experience as both a wonder woman and bg player i think she is. Banana Guard's specials take more priority sometimes and overall can just truck through a lot of her attacks. I'm decent at the game but have no technical understanding of good/bad matchups, yet I do believe unless you're just really good at countering him Wonder Woman isn't the best pick
Jake lagging the game to the point of desyncing when he does the stretch makes him S tier when you're losing, apparently 😂

You think? I'm a Marvin main and my friend is a Tom main.. That's what we ran at the beginning but we quickly switched because his tennis balls would attach to the enemy, so he couldn't hit them like usual.. Marvin has that issue with some other characters too; even the projectiles that are not dealing damage/has any effect on the enemy homes in on the enemy. It's kinda lame.

Gizmo is also annoying for the fact that he seems to counter projectile characters. His umbrella blocks, popcorn blocks his little box blocks and his notes block.
Well, the thing is that his grounded down special is useless, he's clunky to use right now (in the eyes of an open beta Gizmo main), and quite a few of the projectile heroes do have options for him. Morty can just spam his gun and it forces Gizmo out of his car, for example.
He is meter hungry, gets vulnerable real fast

ironically gizmo feels the least clunky after the speed nerfs since he's still a little annoying ah midget that can zoom around, he's just a character that you constantly get better with since his car and bow and arrow have a huge skill ceiling. difference between a mediocre and rlly good gizmo is insane just like Steven universe

The problem with Morty is the fact that they removed almost all his passives. His old rewind used to heal him and save him from being killed and it doesn't anymore also his nades don't have the second bullet that comes out anymore and splitting grenades doesn't send them both ways anymore they just fly at you and completely miss the person they were meant to hit.
Yea i was a morty main and have like 300-400 wins on him and now i dont even want to play him until he gets buffed.😔
yea hes gutted basically but i still have good success with him. He definitely needs help tho hes super light and has trouble killing despite being a bruiser.
His rewind is near useless in 1v1, hopefully they give it back either the hitbox or healing. Not even getting started on the changes to his grenades
As a morty main I feel the pain. His tool kit got butchered pretty horribly, even his hammer swing doesn’t complete half the time against someone as massive as iron giant which is insane. The rewind nerf is pretty egregious, but the grenade nerf was definitely the worst
I decided to grind him out and I wish I hadn't. He's got some cool stuff but the weird float state off his forward air is one of my biggest gripes. That and rewind dropped grenades have the beta physics. Side attack sends them FLYING and normal grenades barely move on contact. That and if you have snake shot, then shoot a grenade (while airborne) it wastes snake shot even though you didnt fire it.
Bats feels like a knowledge check character. You either know how to deal with his grapple and batarang or you just get uptilted to death.
His grapple is easy to parry, I just mess up when he grabs me around a corner and it delays the attack.

As a tom n jerry beta main, I haven't been playing him because shooting jerry or shooting tennis balls currently results in a massive frame drop 90% of the time. I suspect this is why not many are playing him right now. I play on a console. Looking forward to some jerry sniping when they get the console issues sorted.
I think like you, but Tom and Jerry is so funny, I really like it, I don't recommend to use, but if yo use them correctly, you will destroy the game
Yeah playing this game even on current gen sucks sometimes. Input lag and frame drops are FREQUENT. Not just common, it happens FREQUENTLY. As a Bugs main (bite me) its absolutely abysmal

There are some performance issues on Xbox that PFG need to fix. Playing T&J is fine for me on Playstation.
Shaggy is so versatile and is a great combo of speed and power.
He's a beast.

As a steven main i can say that the removal of the support class made steven into a nasty combo character, if you get into the stevn vaccum with a wall above you its over

@@xanander4693 they're accomodating for the fact that more people will be playing 1v1 than 2v2, so they made all the characters viable for 1v1. Support classes were made for 2v2.

You know that's desync it's to do with the overall connection each player has in that game if the Jake is laggy then does we all experience that jank so it desyncs
Glad I'm not delusional about Stripe. His combos are crazy but he just feels lacking in neutral vs. a lot of the cast. Probably still use him and try to figure out better setups until a someone comes out with a guide.
Stripe feels so bad man. Like his strings with up special into his air normals can go wild, but yeah you’re right. His neutral game is HORRENDOUS. And thus he struggles to kill outside of specific percent ranges or setups

@@thatcheesy8613 when you face good opponents, they will punish you for trying to throw out a raw down special.
He used to be one of if not the best character until they nerfed his gun. His gun could eventually easily kill after 50 percent if someone was off stage he was one of the most annoying and broken characters in the Beta.

Do some rifts and you'll get the currency to unlock a character. I do a couple each day and i unlock a character each day

I'm not surprised to see Jason fall quite a bit on your list since last week, haha. TBH, I think you might still be overestimating him a little because you've seen so much of Nakat's Jason, and he's got one of the best around. In general, I think he could use a little tweaking to reach a point that feels good to play.
I agree he could use a little bit of a speed buff and at least one to two armor moves
Harley Quinn can just make Jason explode, he has nearly no answers to her approaches, the only times I've lost to Jason after the first couple of days is when I'm throwing because I want to finish dailys.

20:07 weird how they took out Superman's upward and downward throws from his up special but then gave everyone the ability to KO off the top at like 40 and now he feels limited as hell :(
I main black adam and i agree with all of the things you pointed out about his kit. He is also really good against blocking projectiles too.
Stripe in underrated af. Was my main in beta (same moveset, but of course the game is different now). His combo game is actually nice as hell. Weaving a gunshot and managing his saw blade can be very abusive. Saw on platforms is kinda nuts. His sair special is strong and his upair normal is gnarly. A lot feeds into his air game which is nice. Landing grounded up attack or grounded side special into his air game while filling with his gun can be insane with the right timing. The gun really enables him to follow up much easier especially when people are trying to evade. As long as you can touch someone you can followup and gap close with the gun as filler. Also, the weird timing on a few of his moves are nice for baiting if you need a lil help on the way back to stage. Adds a nice element of mind-games when youre out in the middle of fucking nowhere. I'm taking a 1v1 take on this one. Teams is a totally different beast for stripe. I feel like there are more characters that fair better in 1v1 than they do in 2v2.
I also think Taz is worse than Stripe mostly because of his kit. I feel like he has less options overall.
Haven’t seen one Finn player use their upgrades yet, one of the best things in his kit.
It’s a lot to keep track of during a match especially in 2v2. And it leaves you wide open.

I feel like garnet just needs less frames on a few moves.
I put in a lot of work with her way back so I make her work well but it's so much easier on other characters especially when she's in disadvantage. Her animations are super slow, but at the same time she rewards timing with some CRAZY conversions so she can potentially become touch of death
With her strings tho they're also situational so you have to have the exact cooldown you need to do certain combos. But that's what makes her so satisfying for me. Learning new matchups has been great and I learned some really wild stuff with her. She's tough to play for a "just punch them" character, but satisfying
Also garnet can make use of airwalkker really well too ots so fun
Stripe is one of my favorite characters. His combos do a lot of damage and he can surprise kill you with his gun but once you know the shot is coming it's easy to predict and dodge. In doubles though if he tags you so you have his mark and the other guy juggles you up to the top, it's just a kill you can't avoid so he's super funny in that respect. Also he's really safe because you can threaten with Dynamite in your hand and hold it as long as you want, if you take his Perk where after biting the dynamite, the next structure he hits also explodes, he's actually got amazing utility to get back on the ledge. Combined with the saw blade on some maps where you can make it spin on the platform for a while and he's actually really decent. I played him a shit load before moving to gizmo and i'd personally rank him middle B or on this graph top of strong. There was never a character i felt like i couldn't beat but also felt like i was nobody's counter at the same time.
To put into context how it really feels, I almost beat Bleezy (top 8 evo player) on it. I rack up way more wins with Stripe and than taz and i mained Taz. Taz is bad right now. Lower end of good if you will. Stripe is better because he's more consistent in my opinion. The only match up i want Taz over Stripe is vs shaggy because being able to shoe his side special kick but that's it.
It's the movement u got from the dodges as well as the perks available which really changes how characters play

I just started playing Shaggy for the first time and wow he’s amazing. Great combos, charges are really easy to pull off especially with that perk, can ko in any direction. Was he this good in the beta? It feels like discovering WW in the beta. Total natural fit for my play style

I've been trying Stripe and I think his dash attack is pretty good at killing people. But his role seems to be to do quite a lot of damage so that your partner with better finishing moves go and do their jobs.
I haven't played stripe myself but I've seen a video that showcases him having a kill comfirm combo that works when his opponent is at 70
Do you have some general tips for getting better at this game ? I'm not that good at platform fighters and just a few tips could help me out alot

Digging this tier list. Esp Gizmo, he has options for everything but dies at like 60 esp to other top tiers. Esp in 2's get caught once and youre almost dead. People just seem not to respect the gizmo play, but that will change over time I feel. Hopefully the clean up gizmo bugs too, the nasty one is not being able to jump after weird car interactions or up special post backpack bugs.
As a stripe main I find most kills are either from bullet shots near the blast zone or his aerials and even then the aerials need more knockback since I've hit people with full charge up air and it still hasn't killed at over 120
I think banana guard should be balanced by the devs to sit in B tier. playing against a character that’s insanely strong and simple at the same time isn’t very fun
If that’s the case then they need to nerf shaggy too.
I feel like none of his frames should be touched but his knockback, damage and a bit of his hitboxes should be touched. I like the idea of having banana guard as a combo monster that has to work for kills rather than having all of his moves kill
@@PitbullFromSuburbs well shaggy has at least a bit of nuance. Banana guard atm just feels like you’re throwing out kill moves with huge hitboxes no matter what button you press. I think they should tweak his design a bit
Every character should ideally be balanced to be as close to the rest of the roster as possible. Making balancing decisions to place certain characters in certain tiers is a bad idea.

If y’all want to see garnet’s potential just do this-multi punch,side b(rocket punch),forward dodge,multi punch,side b(elbow dash) but angle it up,depending on the enemy’s percent and position you can do side air 1 into side b again or sair 1 into up b or up air strings or sair 1 super close to the ground to go back into multi punch into another side b elbow(basically if you hit sair 1 then you can practically go into everything else really good combo extender and kill confirm from the side and upwards just use side b or up airs or up b )

Ricks neutral projectile doesn’t hit like half the cast because he’s too tall, which makes some match ups significantly harder. But he’s still fun and has some strong moves.
Honestly I feel the game is pretty balanced. The majority of the cast feel strong in their own way and if played right can win games. A couple definitely outshine the rest but I don’t feel like you have to play one of the absolute best characters to keep up. As people continue to get better will be interesting to see how this shakes out but so far I think it’s pretty good.
Stripe is so slept on his up tilt kills at like 100 and side special does too if you use his gun at peak height and on top of that he can rack up damage

im so glad steven is good, ive always loved playing him and he is one of my favorite characters in fiction so its not frustrating playing him lol
Decided to give Garnet a try, and holy cow she's actually really good.
Just so many options.
Which is exactly what Banana Guard lacks.
Don't get me wrong, Banana Guard has great reach and power, a very deadly combo.
But Garnet has more range, and tools in general, than most of the other Bruisers except Morty and Black Adam.
A projectile stopper, speed booster, and anti-armor in her dance move.
Super armor in her ground neutral that sits right there with Superman's charge attacks.
I find her down special to be a little lacking, more situational than you'd think because how easy it is to interrupt, but for the case of mobility it's nice.
Up special in the air is kind of weak, but on the ground it's a nice interrupt and the shock damage is pretty nice.
Side special has good knockback and range, and being able to control the angle mid flight is useful.
Neutral is situational, wouldn't mind if it lasted a little longer, but I find you don't need more than 1 stack most of the time, and for projectile reflecting you don't even need that. 2 stacks would be great against WW if it lasted longer, or came out quicker, but it's kind of win-more at the moment.
Does she feel as good to me as T&J, Steven, or Reindog?
Maybe on the level of Reindog honestly, definitely on the level of Superman.
Her specials are more viable than Superman's laser eyes on drop platform stages (fricken mansion) or his ice breath, in my opinion (though I forget you can freeze your ally's hands to give them damage boost)
I wish Jake didn't have hurt boxes in his hands... That's all I really want.
I like Iron Giant and i main him besides Marvin the Martian but i dont use him because im bad i use him because i think the movie was one of my favorite animated movies ever and its cool seeing him in a game so i like playing as him 🫡
I think arya has some cool airwalker stuff, but with d tilt taking her meter it's hard to use half her meter for airwalk.

i was a wonder woman main in beta and she was a pretty alright character. I think she was fairly balanced and a super fun character to use especially with the whip tip perk. But now with no whip cooldown you can just cheese a ton of combos and that whip tip perk is really not good anymore especially since it doesn't have the reel in mechanic anymore. I still main her and had no idea how powerful she actually was to use until it was pointed out to me lmao. Her shield bash is so busted lol.

I was looking forward to maining velma. I hope she gets better. shes very floaty and has confusing attacks as well as almost no kills aside the slow af down air and the up air which has decent coverage but very slow

As a Batman main I agree, he feels lackluster. I wish his batarang was closer to how it originally was, faster and further. When you got characters like Gizmo with a cooldownless projectile and Bugs' safe and rocket, I don't think a better batarang (or more than 1) is too much to ask. I'm just a casual though so what do I know.

Shaggy will always be my main and I love him being in 2nd top tier cause then everyone else will move around him but he’ll stay strong

I switched from black adam after like 500 wins from beta to now thinking I would soften the blow for his inevitable nerfs. Unfortunately, I switched to gizmo and all I can say is "mission failed successfully" 😅
As a Tom and Jerry main, fighting Gizmo is painful
I have been playing Marvin a lot, and tbh I think the main thing he needs is a better way to confirm kills. The Rocket seems to be the only reliably thing that can confirm a kill, and I end up just stacking up damage, even getting a Bugs Bunny up to 180 damage and still no kill.

Just so everyone knows, well Joker players, especially flower aka neutral special in the air will one shot break bugs' safe and rockets as well as a bunch of other characters projectiles!!
I HONESTLY think Marvin could be A borderline S tier in 2's if he has a competent partner that can secure kills.
I played tom and jerry casually, probably just me but I struggle with kill confirms. Their a menace at dealing damage, just find it hard to finish off other characters
I was like this bro😂 I had to switch to gizmo
I found that the jerry rocket has actually been an insane kill confirm recently cause I was struggling with the same issue
His forward jab combos into his down normal, which makes for a pretty good kill confirm. You can also trying using the RC Jerry rocket or the fishing rod, but those are harder to land. But yea generally actually finishing people off is his weakness, which is why he's better in 2s.

I feel like that's a trait of mages.
High damage output, difficulty confirming kills.
They have a few moves.
But I just aim to rack up higher damage numbers than I would with a heavier hitter.z
They just have so many ranged options you can trap enemies into having no choice but to be hit.
i think players need to consider weakness stacking, batman has 3 moves and a projectile that stack weakness making some combos kill way better. and even without that if u hit 5 up attacks then an up special then you kill very early

Hot take: Marvin is the best 1v1 character. can box any character out. If you’re patient. Endless they only patch iron giants infinite. Because he’s the best in 1’s. I think most people are sleeping on the fire projectile perc. Makes Morty top tier I think

How do you beat Harley with Tom and jerry because I seem to struggle against her
Stripe is wack because his kill game isn't consistent like most characters (His pistol doesn't go off every time after a combo to kill. That may be a bug. His neutral + ^ has 2 different properties so if you use it for a kill when you get the 2nd one, it won't connect. The bomb is SUPER tricky to get the full value from it since you have to predict where they'll recover while in the air.)
His neutral special is a gimick you'll forget about since it feels like filler.
You can't combo into EITHER of special + > moves. Those are literally his best specials too.
He's just a lot of extra hard work to be real when (From what I see with the characters I've played and vs'd) NOBODY has to struggle because their kit is just there to look cool.
IDK if this helps but here's my attempt to give some insight on what I've learned from Stripe (I got a habit of playing bad characters in fighting games 🤡. Velma is another story tho) Also probably shouldn't have tried to use my brain at 3 am to make logical sense 🤡
I made an Irongiant combo video and i didnt know there were infinites. I hope the changes still allow for the simple conversions I think are fair.
Something i think about ww... i think in most fighting games the mirror match sucks but the ww mirror match is always fun and exciting imo
