Hi there thank you for sharing this with us , You say this ecodiesel engine has 300k miles I'm curious have you ever replaced engine on this ram ? Thanks
As far as i know the engine has never been replaced. But we recently did replace the engine and transmission in this truck. The engine was burning alot of oil and the transmission lost a gear.
That code is for the particulate matter temperature sensor. It could have a wiring issue to the sensor, failed sensor or a failed pcm. Its likely the particulate matter sensor has failed.
My 2015 Ram EcoDiesel threw a PO428 code. Got the 100% full exhaust filter. Is this the sensor that goes bad that prevents you from doing a manual regen?
That code is for bank 1 sensor 1 exhaust gas temperature sensor . If that sensor is not reading correctly it can inhibit a regen. Ram's in general are very picky with regens, when I do a stationary desoot (regen) there can be no other codes in the pcm besides a soot accumulation code (because dpf is full). Fix that code first and it should regen, you may have to have someone initiate it with a scan tool if its overloaded.
That code can be caused by many things. May be thrown in conjunction with other codes, one of the Egt Sensors , scr catalyst, or anything for the def fluid system (pump, line injector) and pcm. I would recommend taking it to an experienced shop for diagnosing.
Possibly , there are many things that can cause that code unfortunately. It would be best to take it somewhere to diagnose. You could try changing the sensor first, if you do buy a oem sensor only.
I have very little experience with these ecodiesel's . It appears that code be many things unfortunately. Could Be Bad DEF, An Exhaust Leak , Issue with the scr, Or a DEF flow/pumping issue.
No the nox and pm are separate sensors. I believe on this truck the pm sensor module is next to the nox module. The pm sensor is generally the last sensor is the exhaust.
@@drewsshoplife Thanks! I wasn’t sure which one it was I was already about to replace the Diesel Exhaust particular sensor thinking it was the same as the PMS
Super action packed

My 2014 ecodiesel has p24c6 code, what could be the cause of it? Thank you
That code is for the particulate matter temperature sensor. It could have a wiring issue to the sensor, failed sensor or a failed pcm. Its likely the particulate matter sensor has failed.
@@drewsshoplife do you have a video how to change that sensor? I believe you said you have to take off the bracket.
Was it the p20ee code that you did this fix for?
No , This truck Had Regen Issues, This sensor fixed those issues.
Was this the bank 1 sensor 2?
Yes this is the bank 1 sensor 2 nox sensor

@drewsshoplife thanks for this comment. Troubleshooting the same issue now.
@@drewsshoplifeI know it’s an old post but does this code mean to replace the temp sensor that is in the middle of the dpf?
If you get a P249C code, where is the first place to look?
That code can be caused by many things. May be thrown in conjunction with other codes, one of the Egt Sensors , scr catalyst, or anything for the def fluid system (pump, line injector) and pcm. I would recommend taking it to an experienced shop for diagnosing.
Wheee is the particular matrer sensor?
Its near the rear nox sensor, The module is actually right next to the nox 2 sensor module.
My ram 2016 ecodiesel is with code P20EE I want know if this is the problem. U can me help?
Possibly , there are many things that can cause that code unfortunately. It would be best to take it somewhere to diagnose. You could try changing the sensor first, if you do buy a oem sensor only.
with 300 plus on it, why isn't this thing not rusted out?
Its a california truck , 99% of the vehicles I see are in this condition thankfully.
What about a P2BA9 code?

Is the NOX sensor the same thing as the particulate matter sensor? I haven’t been able to find a video on the PMS. I’ve been getting the code P24AE

The one below is the particulate matter sensor. Does anyone know were I can find a video for it?
According to Emissions Recall R69 the PM Sensor is the sensor closest to the SCR Catalyst. I’m pretty sure that’s what he actually replaced.
