When it comes to discussing Kronk, a lot of people just call him the perfect himbo, with him being so likable while also being a complete airhead.
also, the Muscles.
I literally saw a post yesterday about the 4 elements of Himbo with various characters taking each element.
Then someone said "The Avatar" with Kronk as the one.
He's perfect, sometimes watching the cartoon I forget he's not actually a Labrador Retriever
@@noremac7216 A reminder that his VA also voices one of the most brutal, violent and intense man who babysits two kids who get cloned each time they die.
@@Netsaverwhat is that from? sounds VERY interesting
The line Kronk says when Yzma asks him how they got back to the palace ("You got me. By all accounts, it doesn't make sense") is even more fourth wall breaking in the Spanish dub. Instead, he answers "I don't know Yzma, I don't think it was due to the magic of cinema" xD
Love it! In the Italian version Kronk says "good question, everybody in the room is asking the same"
Though I think it does make sense
Ezma's other lever leads to a place with crocodiles in it, and can be used to reach back to just outside the levers, and down the bottom of where that bridge use to be we saw said crocodiles in the water, and it seems to be the same spot where Ezma and Kronk later get hit by lightning and fall.
As such they would just need to make it to the entrace that leads to the levers, while Kuzco and Pancha had to traverse the palace, the crocodile entrace could very well have been more direct
Someone somewhere compared it to them falling down a hole (i assume because of the shape and length of the gap in land) so they literally fell into a plot hole.
@@chiaraderrico8783Bella domanda, se lo stanno vedendo tutti in sala!
I've heard that in the Italian dub it was something like, "Good question, the audience is wondering the same thing" 😂
Fun Fact: In the scene where Pacha is carrying Kuzco through the jungle, Pacha and Kuzco discuss Kuzco having low blood sugar. This is an in-joke about the fact that David Spade, who plays Kuzco, is diabetic in real life.
Another fun fact: This is the first Disney animated feature to show a pregnant woman (Pacha's wife, Chicha).
Ayy I didn’t know he was diabetic! I found out I have something in common with David spade 🤣
@@MattTOB618Really? I didn't know that...
In the second season of The Emperor's New School, John Goodman voiced Pacha
@@jarredbillings2332 It was even notable enough to be mentioned in the movie's DVD commentary!
the best thing to come out of the spin off cartoon was that we got a new "wrong lever" gag every episode
My favourite is the one where nothing happens, so Yzma and Kronk just take the stairs.
The show was so good tho unironically
@@solus8685 - Right? I watched it as a teen and I loved it :D
That show was my high school after school jam. I'd get home Have a joint ready. And laugh my head off until dinner time. For some reason one channel always showed like four episodes in a row Every day after school.
They literally fell into a plot hole, which is why they arrived at the same time. genius filmmaking.
Tiny Toon Adventures did the same thing. "I was wondering how those hack writers were going to wrap this up."
I only learned this a bit ago, but this movie was made without a script. The had the plot but all the dialog and jokes were storyboarded. There wasn't an official script of the movie until two weeks AFTER it was released.
Haha I learned that recently too @@anothermiddleschoolburnout8816
This movie is the reason I yell “you threw of my groove” abruptly
I frequently use "bring it in" and "oh yeah, it's all coming together "
you sound annoying
God, Kronk and Yzma carry this movie even harder than I remember. They're the best parts by far.
Kuzco and Pachas relationship is very well done but I agree the comedy with Kronk and Yzma is just on point. Also I'd say this is the funniest Disney movie with so many scenes that just have me laughing all the time.
I 100% agree with both of you.

Kronk literally carries the movie like Atlas on his shoulders
The part where Kronk is doing his own theme music was completely improvised by the voice actor, and they left it in an animated it anyway because it was gold
Not only that but Disney then had to have him legally sign over the rights to it so it could be included, since he technically officially composed it.
I'm so glad to know that, I've always wondered what the hell kind of direction they gave him to get that kind of performance 😂
That Willie Nelson joke got me.
Also, I love how Kuzco isn’t portrayed as dumb or incompetent, just childish and immature. He says some clearly intelligent things, he just doesn’t apply them cause he never needed to
and he was raised by Yzma so there is that
Kronk is the peak example of a himbo where he's so dumb in the most likeable way. At no moment does it come across as annoying or frustrating like later seasons patrick. All the jokes revolving around him hit and he's just so precious.
Fun fact: When the guard turned into a cow and was excused the supposed inside joke the animators had was that he was named Ward
A cow named “ward”, that’s hilarious

Honestly Kronk's New Groove is underrated, as a kid i loved it just as much as the first one.
And i think i liked the TV show too, but i don't remember anything about it.
I still get sad everytime I remember the original idea :(
@@markeronacomputer7469 that song makes me a bit sad that idea never made it to the end, it could've been really cool, that yzma solo being especially good
I believe this movie had a lot of jokes and moments where the voice actors just said whatever and the animators animated it.
It’s pretty funny. For example, “that’s my voice?” from Yzma was just the voice actress’ reaction to the voice effect placed on her voice
Really ? That makes the scene funnier
I mean, the movie didn't have a script. There was no script for this. It was just a bunch of people voicing and directing and animating things they had no idea how it was supposed to fit together until the day it hit theaters.
@@DisneyLover258 yeah, the last arc is a LOT of that. "how do Kronk and Yzma got there first?", "How is that Kronk turned against Yzma?", "How do they beat Yzma?", just a lot of, "Just happened" at the end and we love it for it, because that's what a movie like this needs for its ending.
Really?? That's so amazing :D
@@DisneyLover258when one of the higher-ups asked for the script, they just gave them a big box of unassorted papers or something
This movie is why "Pull the lever Kronk. WRONG LEVER!" stuck with me for two decades.
In the french version, she says " Not this oooone !!!!!! "
Fun fact: The old man who gets thrown out of the window is voiced by John Fiedler, the original voice actor of Piglet in Winnie the Pooh.
Wow, that's cool. In France, Kronk has the same voice actor than Simba
David Spade wasn't in the show, and neither was John Goodman for the first season. But Eartha Kitt and Patrick Warburton returned and, in all honesty, play the characters everybody REALLY loves
Sounds about right considering Eartha and Warburton are voice actors for other series. I think I remember Eartha voicing Vexis in My life as a Teenage Robot and a side characters in other cartoon series.
@@UncleJrueForTue Kitt is also well known for being one of a number of actresses to play Catwoman in the Adam West Batman series
Something serious that I really like about this movie is that, with Kuzco being a teenager in this movie, he not only learns how to be a good person from Pacha, but he also ends up finding a father figure in him too, something that Kuzco has never had before. With no parents to take care of him and just being treated with everything he ever wanted up until the events of this movie, it is no wonder he turned out the way he did before meeting Pacha and being given a big reality check.
Honestly, being turned into a llama is the best thing that could have happened to him, as that allowed him to not only become a better person through his adventure, but he found a real family that could trach him family values and give him the familial love he truly needed.
As for the humor of this movie, it was so ahead of its time that, while it didn’t do well when it first released, it is considered a real Disney classic now! Its humor is positively top tier! 10/10 funny times!
I like this movie and I seen it when I was little and it's my favorite movie from my childhood and it's a good movie but not funny about this movie and it's still a good movie but not funny about this movie and do you agree with me about what I say right and this is not a funny movie it's a good movie but not funny about this movie and do you agree with me about what I say right
@@ShawnBettasso-rn9kk Yeah, okay, troll. Have a good day.
So what do you think about this movie same thing what I say before right
Eartha Kitt and Patrick Warburton are a criminally underrated comic duo. They totally make the movie for me XD
30:54 Being “removed” in a family tree usually refers to a difference in generations between two people, rather than not being related somehow. For example, your cousin’s child is your “first cousin once removed” and your cousin’s grandchild is your “first cousin twice removed” (a second cousin is a different thing).
But a lot of people probably think of their cousin’s children as their nieces/nephews instead of first cousins once removed, because niece/nephew is a lot simpler even if it’s not technically correct.
everything is a question of culture, it’s not incorrect to say that your cousins' children are your nephews, it’s a cultural vision in priority
Considering how this film had a pretty troubled production back then (with crew members not being satisfied of what they were making) later they made it to the film we have now which... honestly doesn't even ring a single "production problem" when you compare it to other films like Frozen 2.
My favorite anecdote about this movie was that the script was never written down in full until AFTER the movie hit theatres.
This is, UNAPOLOGETICALLY, one of my top 5 favorite Disney movies of ALL TIME!! 🥰
The second Atlantis movie is actually a compilation of episodes. After Atlantis came out, they prepared an animated series. When the movie failed, the series was shelved but the finished episodes were compiled to make the 2nd movie.
After 3D animation became more commonplace, audiences just didn’t want to watch 2D movies anymore. They also seemed to prefer comedy over adventure stories. With a mix of animation bias, poor marketing, bad timing, etc., Dreamworks and Disney ended up switching to 3D fully.
I'd still argue the "audiences prefered 3D to 2D" is bs. They probably saw that there were 3D movies doing well and had a few flops and either asumed 3D was more popular or they just wanted a reason to switch to fully 3D. After all they had developed deep canvas which was trying to make things look 3D but cost a ton. They did their best to make Treasure Planet fail after all. So I'd easily belief they were just looking for excuses.
That's honestly nonsense. The 2D movies flopped because Disney intentionally failed to advertise them as an excuse to scrap 2D.
@@drakkiusgaming And they purposedly released Treasure Planet the same day as Harry Potter.
No, audiences still liked 2D, it's just that studios didn't want to make 2-D anymore due to expenses. So they finished their last few projects in production but purposefully tanked them so that they would have reasoning to shut down their 2D studios.
One of my favorite quotes:
Yzma: How did we get here Kronk?
Kronk: Well you got me, (pulls down map) by all means it makes no sense.
In italian we translated it in: Good question, everyone in the room is wondering that
@@danilociak6504ah that's nice. I don't remember how it's translated in the french version
I think the reason why this movie is so loved is just how Looney Tunes it gets, it soooo doesn't take ANYTHING seriously and everything is just a laugh and I love it!
Of all the movies they could turn into a live action film…Atlantis is the one I feel they could get away with the most. Side note the water fall bring it on scene has got to be the best thing to come out of this film
Yeah I could see atlantis. It has the most realistic art style, is lighter on the comedy (compared to this) and is a classic adventure and Atlantis could look incredible if it is animated well. It also relies less on it being animated. Most classic Disney movies rely a lot on them being animated and have a lot of things that are hard to pull off in "live-action" (aka mostly bluescreen).
They kinda already did. It’s called Stargate Atlantis. Don’t believe me? Milo=Daniel Jackson. ……who, admittedly, isn’t _in_ Atlantis very much, but still. He was the reason it was found, so close enough.
I saw the live action Atlantis movie. It was called Stargate
@@Ragnarok345 James Spader was live action Milo YEARS before Milo was created

Kronk is the ultimate Himbo character.
i love him.
So the Animated Series spin-off they did was called The Emperor's New School and it actually retained a lot of the original cast. Eartha Kitt reprises her role as Yzma. Pat Warburton is still Kronk. Wendie Malick comes back as Pacha's wife Chicha. And honestly JP Manoux and Fred Tatasciore do an excellent job replicating David Spade and John Goodman. Manoux's Davide Spade imitation is near indistinguishable honestly
John Goodman came back in season 2, but as usual, Kronk and Yzma steal the show.
"You wanted to see me, Principal Amzy?"
"Kronk, it's me, Yzma!"
"Whoa! It was you the whole time?!"
@ggrarl that gag never got old, it should have but it just stayed funny
This movie is freaking hilarious. Eartha Kitt's performance as Yzma will never get old, Kuzco and Pacha's friendship has grown, Kronk always make me laugh and Pacha's wife is pregnant throughout the entire movie
😢😢😢🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣

It's a gem, but it's not that underrated. Most people recognise it as the funniest Disney classic.
@@leovk5779it's underrated in the fact that it didn't do very well in the box office. It's humor was certainly well ahead of it's time, & in the last decade it's definitely seen a resurgence, but I would still call it a cult classic like The Nightmare Before Christmas is.

Boom, baby!
"The Emperor's New Groove" is a rare hilarious Disney movie.
It's very different from any other Disney movie so this movie might also be very watchable to you Disney haters out there. The movie pace is incredibly high and the music by John Debney and Sting are a real surprise. The movie really is a non-stop hilarious comedy with some unique humor. Also the style, both visual and story-wise is different from any other previous Disney movie, which in this case is a positive thing.
The characters are great. Kuzco and Pacha are a perfect team. Yzma is a remarkable villain and her sidekick Kronk is hilarious. Yep, Laughs are guaranteed in this very hip and hilarious movie!
The story really is of no importance and most of it never makes sense but that's also why this movie is both unique and hilarious to watch over and over again.
Highly recommendable to everyone!
10/10
Yup, this movie is a 10/10
Guys, you forgot to rate this movie out of ten I think.
Just to add something: it's an hilarious comedy, yes, but it's also one of the best vilain redemption story out there. Cause it's believable every step of the way.
I think it's great in the end that Kuzco didn't get what he wanted for his birthday but got something even better; a family
It's one of Disneys best animated movies and it's so sad that we no longer get good movies from disney anymore. 😢
I love how they play on the bumbling henchman archetype by making Kronk one of the snarkier characters.
What’s amazing about this movie is….well, just about everything, but specifically, this is your run of the mill Disney animated movie, with only ONE song. Disney is notorious for making their movies musicals, for better or worse, but this has only one song in the whole film. It was gonna have so many more, apparently, and I’m glad it didn’t. It allowed for more comedy and interactions.
Easily one of the most underrated movies to come out of the early 2000s.

"WRONG LEVER!"
I actually remember liking the spinoff show a lot as a kid. It had a few odd retcons just so the premise would work but it was funny. Kuzco and Kronk are teenagers and Kuzco has to graduate high school before he can reclaim his Emperor status and I think he lives with Pacha's family in the meantime. It sort of changes the dynamic between Kuzco and Pacha from unlikely friends to foster family which works really well if I'm being honest. Also Kuzco falls for a pretty nerd girl and Yzma does everything in her power to keep him from graduating. I think my favorite thing about that show was that it had a little bit of continuity before that was really a common thing in animated shows. There wasn't a huge amount of it but there were moments where you could tell that Kuzco had experienced character growth.
Honestly it's surprising how many spinoff shows are actually good. I mean you expect them to be cheap cash grabs and some of them are but a lot of them are genuinely well written. Aladdin had a pretty good spinoff too if I'm remembering correctly. And How to Train Your Dragon had like 8 seasons of adventures that really fleshed out it's characters and world. Then there's the Tangled series which definitely takes the cake.
Fun fact! This movie didn't have a script, they just "made the movie" and when asked for the script for archiving purposes (after it had already been released) they just cobbled together what notes and storyboards they had and called it a day. So the first script for this was made AFTER it was already being screened in the cinemas. The whole making of this movie is so interesting tbh look it up
Wow, that's great
this movie in spanish slaps so hard 😂 is a childhood favorite
Patrick Warburton does show up in a decent number of tv shows everything from family guy to kids cartoons. my favorite roll of his has to be Brock Sampson from Venture bros. though, it being the deconstruction of hanababara age cartoons like johnny quest, scooby-doo, and the like lines him up for the roll he delivers best on, definitely recommend the show if you haven't seen it.
5:16 About the Spinoff, John Goodman actually returned to voice Pacha in the second season.
I believe pretty much every voice of the main cast returned for the spinoff aside from David Spade.
I don't know if it's inspired by or if it's coincidental, but Yzma and Kronk going down the secret mine cart and ending up in their labcoats, reminds me of the 60s Batman show. For those under 60, Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson go down a secret passage, and appear in their costumes. AND Eartha Kitt (Yzma) was one of the beautiful ladies to play Catwoman.
The universe need more kronk and launchpad characters
The fact that this film wasn't a hit and is underrated and surprisingly unknown by many is a TRAVESTY!!! =P

When John Goodman plays a bad guy, he's terrifying. He plays an amazing and seriously underrated villain in 10 Cloverfield Lane. It's easy to forget what a huge dude he is until you see him looming over a young girl chained up in his basement bunker.
A better known movie where Goodman plays a badman is Oh Brother Where Art Thou.
Interesting to note: Since the setting of this movie takes place in Peru, that makes Emperor Kuzco next door neighbors to the Madrigals of Colombia.
Fun fact yzma had a song called snuff out the light but was cut after the movie was overhauled from its original vision
Out of curiosity I just looked up some stuff. Pacha just swung a 300-400 lb animal with one arm. Maybe because Kuzco was a teen before becoming a llama he might have weighed less, but still, what are they feeding Pacha? 😂
actually kuzco's new school (the spin off) was fairly good and popular and kuzcos va wasn't actually that different (also they still had john goodman and alot of the voice cast including kronk) so it did pretty damn well for its self despite being short lived. i recommend checking it out

Atlantis and Tresure Planet were amazing films but released during a time where traditional 2D animation was dying. Aside from Disney's financial losses, companies like 20th Century Animation closed because of their own movie financial flops like Titan AE.

John goodman has played villains a few times, such as 10 Cloverfield Lane. He's actually pretty good at being menacing when he wants to. And while it's not exactly a villainous role from what I remember, his part in Kevin Smith's movie Red State is pretty damn close.
