    In semiconductors, China is dominating in the area of 28nm nodes and above, which are used in heavy industries like appliances, cars, aircraft, industrial processes, military applications (missiles, warplanes, warships, etc.), and so on. Advanced semiconductors (7nm nodes and below) are used in consumer electronics, AI, etc., but this is less than 20% of the semiconductor market.
    At any rate, China is expected to close the gap within the next few years.

    • @rickjames18
      @rickjames18 Місяць тому

      Lmao, China is allowed to buy DUV machines by the US which is why 28 nm is possible. Aircraft? Again most bought from US makers or EU. Matter a fact, almost all manufacturers learned from the west. Best AI chips are from Nvidia not China. AI, US is far ahead. I mean, you couldn’t be more wrong. You know how the world knows who is ahead? Because the US is restricting China from using US technology that Chinese companies need NOT the other way around.

      When China is allowed to buy legacy machines in mass or equipment they do so at the pleasure of the west. If they had been cut off from legacy chips China would be now be buying even more chips whereever they can. So let's be clear, thanks to the west NOT sanctioning DUV equipment China was allowed to build such an industry. That doesn't sound like China "dominating" anything.

    Science and Civilisation in China (1954-present) is an ongoing series of books about the history of science and technology in China published by Cambridge University Press. It was initiated and edited by British historian Joseph Needham (1900-1995). China has several thousand years of tech experience while the West only has several hundred years since the end of the Dark Age.

      @train_xc What's the hurry? Modern China is only 75 years old, want to know China's plan? Sixth, the country is more secure: By 2029, China will become the country with the highest level of comprehensive security in the world, Chinese astronauts will land on the moon, and the annual output of domestic large aircraft will exceed 100. By 2035, the annual output of domestic large aircraft will reach 500, 10 more support bases will be established abroad, and the number of Chinese participating in UN peacekeeping operations will further increase. The number of Chinese space launches will reach 200-300 per year. Seventh, the pace is firmer: In 2029, further comprehensive deepening of reform and the Party's self-renewal complement each other, the Party's leadership of Chinese-style modernization from the blueprint to the realization, per capita GDP reached the level of quasi-developed countries. In 2035, a China that has basically realized socialist modernization will stand proudly in the East of the world with an unprecedented civilization. Plus, with China aiming to be the most powerful country in the world by 2049, the centenary of the founding of New China, there's plenty of time to play with them.

      .....their 50k ton steel pipe press overtook the best in the usa in 2016 to 2020...and now the lead is growing....they plan on launching a new 80k ton press...while usa is still on 36k ton press and no need to advance....same with fission nuclear reactors.. .this last year...they have built about 5 new generation four or five reactors which the whole world was talking about since 1980s. .....remember there is that famous study of ceramic pots and 2 teams...a perfect design for one which makes 1 in 40 days and the other team which makes 40 per day over 40 days...the team that does more..advances a lot more than the team that does one......China has all these videos and they are only getting started....lets text snd talk in 2034...just imagine then

    Government subsidize industries. All governments subsidize industries. One important issue is "How is the subsidy done?". Do they give money to the producers? Or the consumer? Or the market?
    In the 1950s, the US government started a huge subsidy program for the automobile industry. They did not give a penny to any automobile manufacturer. They did not give a penny to any car buyer. They built the interstate highway system and let everyone use it free of charge. They subsidized the market. And the result was a huge success.
    You need to talk about how the government's subsidy works. Done right, it grows an industry. Done wrong, it is ineffective, even creates corruption.

    • @adrianainespena5654
      @adrianainespena5654 Місяць тому

      Subsidies are spent at the beginnings of new technologies when the development is slow, and the payoff is uncertain. When you get something marketable with a certain payoff, then subsidies are no longer needed. It is the same story all over. You know all those genetic research companies? Well, before they were profitable, governmetns spent a lot of money to have scientist study the eye color of fruit flies. And so it went until suddenly you could make money off DNA.

Let’s just look at the Top 10 tech companies in the world. Who leads in top fields and am talking real world application. Again, Nvidia is generations ahead in AI chips. Chinese experts are acknowledging falling behind in chips and equipment 2-3 generations behind and growing. All you have to do is look where the FDI or money is going. Most of the investments are flowing to the US not China for a reason. The CCP may be able to spend on chip research but that doesn’t equate to automatic results. China also doesn’t have the money to have a centralized planned subsidized tech industry where every critical tech is getting hundreds of billions. That isn’t happening. It just means Huawei or others have found work arounds to make a limited batch of advanced chips but even those are unverified and certainly NOT commercially viable. The latest 7nm chips were found to use TSMC chips and ASML DUV tech with multiple exposure but that has ONLY shown a limited and very expensive result. Again, not a viable route. As for Chinese companies making their own Chip equipment and tech industry that is slow and not always anywhere near as good which is why these companies in China are still trying to find ways to skirt sanctions and going back to using western equipment. The chip industry China has at the moment is due to the west allowing China to purchase chip companies in the west or IP. Allowing China to continue buying legacy equipment and software. Allowing ASML to service that equipment. Intel literally training a generation of Chinese chip engineers. China didn't just "figure" it out in a vacuum. China "quickly" closing the gap is at best generations away and at worst a win for the CCP propaganda machine. While China is the second biggest economy in the world it is not yet overtaking the west in technology. What it has is its vaunted industrial supply chain and its massive consumer market .China is leading only on paper. The creative industry,AI and cutting-edge advanced technology are still dominated by America,Japan,South Korea,UK or Europe. China ,however, still dominates manufacturing.
    The decoupling(it's no longer derisking) will further leave China behind in future tech except in areas and products where China can copy fast and produce in volume.

      You are under estimating China domestic market and technology advancements.
      Manufacturers and industry sector contribution about 30% China GDP, but China service sector is the main contribution to China GDP about 50%. China makes the most money from domestic consumer.
      China is the world manufacturer, but China main customers are China people.

      Decoupling is a two-way street. If the West loses the Chinese market, corporate profits will be significantly reduced, indirectly affecting the ability to continue innovating.

      Africa as a continent is a resource-rich continent. The west has plundered it through colonialism, however, Africa is waking up, just look at the French colonies, they are kicking France out and reclaiming their countries and resources, the uranium and gold mines.
