Check the level of the machine maybe it’s off a little and I think u can adjust the foot cleats to raise or lower each corner. Idk maybe that’s the missing piece. Good luck
The plastic dome on top of the spring does not grip the rod as when it was new, so it's free to slide up and down the rod causing the tub to wobble and hit the sides of the washer.
This was a lot of help. But you might want to say the length of the Rods. I could not find the exact Model # and I never this before and I didn't know they had to be a certain Length. The ones I ordered was 24 & 1/2" but they had to be 25" & 1/2". Thanks for the Video.

Instead of the top plastic hook locks get 4 bolts that span the bevel resting on the bottom plastic but land on the steel. Hook the rod to your bolt. Never have problems again!
I shortened the rods 1-1/2 which tightened the machine up but it still wobbled starting up . I guess the real problem is that the upper spring bushing is not supposed to be able to slide so the spring is actually working up and down from both ways on top of the spring and bottom allowing to much movement . I could be totally wrong tho .

based on your comment, I would check springs & rods again to make sure they didn't come off or move from its position SINCE it worked for at least one wash or more.
MANY machines were made with this problem. Mine is AMANA... exact same washer. Good idea to use the OLD ROD to help pull up on the new rod to install it. Nobody else mentioned that. It's a good idea to do 2 of them at one time. That way you don't have to lift up the WHOLE weight of the tub. It seems the manufacturer RECALLED thousands of these washers and they simply installed MODIFIED rods in them. Watch the video by this guy who shows how to modify your OLD shock absorber rods and no need to purchase new rods!! If you purchase NEW shock rods, they are the UNMODIFIED old rods!!! so you still have the problem! I modified my rods as described in this guys video: Shaky, Loud, Banging, Walking Washer?.. Whirlpool Kenmore, Maytag, Roper, Samsung, LG, GE Washers - UA-cam and I used a different kind of hose than he recommends. My washer bounces a LITTLE bit now and then straightens out and runs OK. SO.... I will have to try using a different kind of rubber hose as he recommends. The problem is in those rods. I refuse to trash my old washer. I think this is fixable, just need maybe a more flexible hose. The hose I used is kind of firm, not flexible.
Same here brand new rods from Amazon. Same length and thinness and I can't figure out why it still shakes. Maybe rods have different tension springs? Idk
Thank you so much for this video! Because of this I was able to fix my machine, I have the same exact washer and this video was a godsend. However a week later the drive belt broke. I tried to order a new belt using the serial number but the belt came and had zero give, couldn't get it on the machine. Not even close. I know this is a long shot but have you ever had to replace that belt, or if you haven't where do you get your parts? I'm trying to fix rather than replace. Thank you again for this video!
The difference is in the plastic side were the rod is going trough , that gets wider so loses it grip or resistance . it simply wears out what causes friction or a damping effect like shock absorbers of a car . Solutions are simple always to problems . The spring stays oke because that is what springs do , they last ..
Hey I watch the video and I ordered the rods because my washing was making a loud banging sound so one rod was bent. So I ended up changing all four rods and it’s still shaking so I don’t know if something is not right or do I need to tighten up something. Is it shakes on the final spin but there is no banging noise
Owner had the machine several years, and is now unstable in Spin cycle. While the tub spins, it’s banging loudly and quite scary, like you threw a cinder block in it. Going to try to replace the rods and purchase the stabilizer springs (all 4). Here’s my question: I’ve seen my share of washers... but this is the first one I’ve seen that is only held suspended by those 4 rods. Is this correct?
@@PatriotMarine Niice. I wanted to know. I have only installed the springs which seemed to have done the trick for now. But now I know a next step. Thank you.
Tried the smaller springs from video before...worked for one load. I wasn't shocked that it didn't work out. Those springs were about as strong as a spring in a ballpoint pen. Replaced balancing rod and springs as in this video. Still shaking violently. There's a service manual taped on the inside front cover. In the manual, there's a diagram of the bottom and strangely enough it mentions a counterbalance that is "optional". Guess what's missing from this cheap POS?
I did not. I could not find one. The service info sheet on the inside of the washer clearly shows a round counterbalance on the bottom of the casing for the motor. I tried stronger springs, bungee cords, all kinds of stuff...nothing worked. It's a shame because the washer looked brand new when I sat it on the curb and posted it as free on Craigslist. I won't buy another Roper or related brand again. A friend had an old set that they let me have. This set looks horrible, but outperforms that Roper in every single way and it's 20 years older.
Bad design. They figured if they made something that lasted for years they would make no money! If only they stuck to what works we wouldn't be dealing with this.
This video is great but whoever came up with this design for whirlpool deserves a raise, not. I'm sure it is a way for those old washing machines which should run forever have a very limited life. I mean, what company could sell a new washer if the old ones lasted. Bottom line, trying to make a damper from a small friction device is idiotic. Gas springs with damping makes perfect sense and although they also wear out over time would work substantially better.
@@mark-Vortex369 the 4 springs improved performance for a couple of washes, afterwards ended replacing all 4 rods & has been working as designed since. (next video)
I changed the suspension rods in my whirlpool but it didn’t help! Couldn’t find anything wrong. Washer actually rocks back and forth like it was possessed! Gave up and bought a new Samsung!

Couldnt u do one rod at a time then replace with the new one nstead of removing all of them at once
Didn't think of that while doing it, but may be easier.
I laid my machine on its side and did it one at a time. That made the process much easier!
@@rm06c good thinking
I bought new rods installed them and still banging out of control
Mine too...😢
Same here brand new rods from Amazon. Same length and thinness and I can't figure out why it still shakes. Maybe rods have different tension springs? Idk
Where does the bottom of the spring go? Did I miss that part?
Don't understand what you're asking.
If it didn't work with 'proper' new rods; maybe motor bearing. Do you have both suspension springs?
Owner had the machine several years, and is now unstable in Spin cycle. While the tub spins, it’s banging loudly and quite scary, like you threw a cinder block in it.
Going to try to replace the rods and purchase the stabilizer springs (all 4).
Here’s my question: I’ve seen my share of washers... but this is the first one I’ve seen that is only held suspended by those 4 rods. Is this correct?
yes, and 2 small springs from factory (I installed 4)
"I did it all by myself, but if ur a woman or a small person..."🤣🤣
Thank you very much
So did the rods fix the shaking and banging?
Yes, the rods di fix it and still working like new. (look at video date; I can't see it from where I'm replying)
@@PatriotMarine Niice. I wanted to know. I have only installed the springs which seemed to have done the trick for now. But now I know a next step. Thank you.
Did it work??? Just wondering before I order this stuff and do all this work or should I get a new one?
If this comment is on Video 2; yes, the NEW Rods and Springs worked STILL (Look at video Date)
Did you put 4 new springs on the top of the new rods?
Mine only has 2 springs.
this one had 2, but installed 4 which fixed it for a couple of washes, then changed the rods and it's been 100% since.
Let your wife hold the camera. I'm sure she'd be happy do it since she can't get a new one. lol
Did it fix the problem?
Yes, the new rods fixed it for good.
I'm gonna try it. Just did springs and it helped...but still banged so I guess next step is rods
Did that solve the problem?
...for a few washes it STRANGELY did, then returned. On next video replacing the rods DID solve it since.

Erick Niki Joe Arnold did you end up buying the counterbalance thing? What is it?
I'm going to be doing that soon
Do NOT purchase any SAMSUNG apploance except maybe dishwadher
I replaced those and it still shakes violently
You need to take that first video off here. I'm glad I watched another guy after that. Then this one. Or I'd have wasted time and money.
How do they go bad ?
the springs loose the tension.
Bad design. They figured if they made something that lasted for years they would make no money! If only they stuck to what works we wouldn't be dealing with this.
The small cup on top of the spring actually grips the rod, works as an absorber. The rubber/foam material deteriorates.
Gas springs with damping makes perfect sense and although they also wear out over time would work substantially better.
so did it work or did you throw that &^*#$! out?
Yes, the new rods fixed it.
@@PatriotMarine for now
@@Jacob_Spang [SpongeBob French Announcers voice]: "Eight Months Later" 😉
Fixed mine too with new rods.
The Springs lose their working ability because of weight and years doing there job , therefore they are fine in beginning .
In a way you only need to put new springs on . Probably not possible because of fabrication .
@@mark-Vortex369 the 4 springs improved performance for a couple of washes, afterwards ended replacing all 4 rods & has been working as designed since. (next video)
I was thinking the same thing. After a few years of the entire unit being supported by those suspension rods the springs could easily soften.
The rods I bought are 2 inches longer than the first set. That won't work, will it?
Just saw your question; I would say no, seems they sent/ordered wrong ones?
I changed the suspension rods in my whirlpool but it didn’t help! Couldn’t find anything wrong. Washer actually rocks back and forth like it was possessed!
Gave up and bought a new Samsung!
New subscriber 👍
Part number??
I'm sure it depends on your specific washer. Google suspension rods 'washer model'
Funny how you were so such it wasn’t this issue lol yet here you are. You should just delete the previous video
Tell your wife to stay away from Samsung washer s
Hope you see this link for why these rods fail. Check out this link. This guy really goes into detail. ua-cam.com/video/IZZCwXEmGhE/v-deo.html
Not very helpful since there is no followup on the work you did. Did this fix the problem?
It works for some as described, for all others see next video which worked for mine.
He never starts the machine. Never trust anyone who cant prove their work
Damn snowflakes you are awesome
Lol 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Esa marca son basura y tan caras
DO NOT GET A SAMSUNG,you will regret it
For a woman ???????? What? Lol
Do them one at a time it's a lot easier! You don't have to pickup the whole tub weight. It's not light! There are better videos showing you how to do it.
The wife/gf will always want to do what is easier/more expensive. This is why they should not be in charge of things.
was a good video til you dont show to insert the actual rods. i understand you had difficulty but still.... thats the whole point right to show people how? essentially u just talk about whats wrong and point and it leaves us snowflakes confused cuz we need all the dots connected k thanks bye
Bogus video. Nothing wrong with old rods. Waste of $40.00
This video was of no help
