Thanks. As a former maintenance tech for a large apartment complex, I never had to fix the washers because the units were not directly owned by the complex. When my own home washer started to bounce I just re-attached the suspension rod that "jumped" out of place. Unfortunately, shortly there after the problem persisted. I thought there may have been a counter balance broken at the bottom of the washer. I did not even know if there was a counter balance. Watching your video, I will immediately order some new suspension rods and I am confident that the new rods will solve my problem. Thanks. As I am also a teacher, I found your video to be very informative and well presented. Keep up the GREAT work.

I've seen several videos on this exact repair, and you're the only one who recommended hanging the old rods from the frame and swapping them two at a time. Genius! Much easier than the others with their "drop the entire basket and then struggle to lift it up several times" methodology.

Thanks so much!! This did the trick $30 on Amazon, followed your instructions, used my 13y/o for an extra hands and viola! Brand new! Saved me from buying a new one, which was my next move! And yes the springing center was the diagnostic factor along with the jumping on spin cycle no matter how I arranged the clothes, or how few I put in! So thank you so much! I appreciate you!

It worked!!! I ordered the parts and did it myself. I was kind of worried that,,,,that wasn't the problem, but that was the problem. I made sure it was level while I had it up in the air, which probably helped. Thank you very much.$30 as compared to $800. Is a big win! I'll take those odds any day. Heroes don't always wear capes.

Wow! I got here from searching the problem, not even a specific model. But sure enough, mine's a whirlpool that looks just like this and 100% has this issue. Must be a pretty common failure. So happy to know there's an actual solution!

My wife and I did this together quickly. I only ran into 1 problem. The grease from the old rods was on my hands and made it a bit harder to pull the new rods up through the corner holes and attach the fastener. Even if I had worn rubber gloves, it would have been slippery. What I did was to use 1 of the old rods. I put it (hook down) through the hole and hook it to the new rod. Then I had better grip to pull it through the corner and attach the fastener. Very simple. Thanks for the video, as it helped tremendously. And we didn't have to hire anyone to fix the washer or replace it.

I just wanted to Thank You for putting this out there. I ordered some parts for my Crosley but they were a little long, but my local appliance repair shop had them in stock and I was able to change them by myself. I had to take the back panel off of it and do them one at a time, but I did it. She's running good now, instead of like the mechanical bull at Gilley's.

Well done Josh! Perfectly and clearly explained. I just picked up one of these machines used after a fairly new LG decided to self destruct. Mine is not going off balance, but I was a bit concerned that the tub was swinging side-to-side so much when I would move it by hand. Now that I’ve seen your video, I know that it’s the “basketball bounce” to determine the suspension rod health. My machine passed that test; however, I’m saving this video for future reference! Thanks again, cheers.

Bro this worked completely! I don't have the exact model of washer you have in the video, but it's really close. You save me $1,500 of not having to buy a new washer, or $300 getting this one fixed, it was $30 in springs off Amazon! Even though this washing machine is probably close to 20 years old, it's just me who uses it, and it's going to still be in use.

Thanks for the video. The banging on our washer was only for a few seconds during the spin cycle, so I thought it was poor clothes balancing. Yours was more educational than others by including the symptoms of 'bounciness' and the broken plastic cover (and that it's OK to be broken). Replaced the suspension rods with OEM parts and seems to be working fine.

Wow, it was easier than I thought, even for a disable vet. $35.00 and an hour was all it took. Thank you so very very much .

Thank you to showed how easy to fix and save a lot of money. Just to remember to disconnect the power cable first for safety. 👍

Very good video, my washer has all the same symptoms. It walks, wobbles, and even bangs when very unbalanced. I will try everything you taught in the video and pretty sure it will work.

Great video and thank you! I wish there was a button like the CC ( closed captions ) to shut off the background music because I prefer just to hear your lecture without any other distractions.

Thank you!!! As much as I would love a new fancy washer, it's not really in our budget. I have no doubt I can fix my washer. I have same washer only it's under the name Roper. I just ordered my part's from Amazon 29.99 with 4.5 stars and a 5% off. It will be here in 2 day's. I will update you when I get it done. I believe with everything you just showed me in simple, easy to understand terms; I can do this!
    Thank you

    HELPFUL HACK!!!
The video was super easy to follow, THANK YOU!! It was difficult for me to grab and push the hook up and through, so I used the old suspension rod’s hook to hook the new one and I pulled up…. SO MUCH EASIER for me.
