I find I listen to songs from this album more than any of the others but I listen to all of them. Love Overfloater.

I'll be damned dude, I can remember way back when my first time hearing that little gem "I'm So Tired" and thinking to myself of Chris's influences that he spoke openly of, The Beatles playing a huge part for him. But it was straight up goosebumps hearing "I'm So Tired" which felt like the most vivid & visceral link between them.

I read a comment one time where a guy said that Soundgarden were "clearly getting bored" with their sound which ultimately lead to their breakup, and that this album was largely phoned in. Well I'm here to say that's utter bullshit. This album is right up there with Superunknown as far as I'm concerned. They did try new things but can't attribute that to boredom. It's obviously going to be a tall order trying to one-up your own masterpiece, that being the Superunknown album, but I think they held their own rather convincingly in this particular album.
I effing love Rhinosaur and I'm happy to finally enjoy it along with you and everyone else, Rory.

They weren't bored at all. Another classic album with all the hits. Just a different sound. They broke up more because of sales and probably internal strife.

About time Rory!!! The most underrated of the Soundgarden albums. With some of my all time Chris Cornell songs. And the ones you might not notice initially get better and better and better as you listen more to them. Apple bite, Overfloater and Boot camp being my favourites❤❤❤

In the end that might be my favourite soundgarden album.

*Rory.* Thanks 😊 Such range on this album. Practically impossible to top their previous two, but DOTU features some of their strongest songwriting.Tough to rank their albums when each has its own gems. Overall, BMF has my heart. SU is a masterpiece and a music industry benchmark. But this album has some monster tracks - Burden in My Hand, Tighter and Tighter... ❤ 🔥
As much as I enjoy your reactions discovering other bands/artists, your joy over Chris, and Soundgarden in particular, is the most fun. 😊

I’ve always thought that the chorus of Rhinosaur could be dropped right into a 70s funk song and it would be perfectly at home.

Could never decide which SG LP was tops for me, this one or Superunknown. DOTU, side one is hard to beat, but SU might be more consistent throughout. Just banging this one at the gym a couple of days ago, and it has my most listened to CC song of any incarnation, "Burden in My Hand." "Zero Chance," a lovely track, as well. I think you may be right, Rory, as I think Sabbath and Beatles probably the two greatest influences. CC born same year as meeself, and, of course, gone much too soon. Couldn't listen to any of his music for about 3 years after he passed, but couldn't stay away; historically great artist who may never be equaled IMO.🔥.....PS, thanks Lydia! :)

Ben: “Hey guys, I have this song inspired by famous asshole and baseball legend Ty Cobb. It’s really fast and punky, but I want to overdub mandolins and banjos all over it…”
    Guys: “Yes.”
