*Rory.* Thanks 😊 From this half, Tighter and Tighter and Overfloater are straight up 🔥🔥🔥 Don't worry. We've still got King Animal. And the earlier albums. 😄
I’ve heard in interviews over the years that Chris and Kim just instinctively wrote in weird time signatures and it was Matt that was able to parse it out.
And here he is again. I was thinking I'd have to wait for Part 2 after having just finished Part 1. Let's go Rory, let's go! It's actually pretty scary how well Chris could sing Never The Machine Forever in a live setting. It's such an intense song vocally. If you Google live versions of the song, the first entry live in Toronto perfectly showcases precisely what I'm talking about. I his live performance of this song is as close to studio accurate as I've ever heard from him. I believe you have three albums left; Ultra Mega OK, Louder Than Love, and King Animal.
Tighter & Tighter off this album is amazing, and a total vibe! Their best song that nobody mentions.

or maybe 'No one sings like you anymore vol2' :)
No Attention, Switch Opens, Overfloater, An Unkind and Boot Camp is one my favourite sequences of all time.
Wish I was a fly on the wall when whoever wrote each song explained the time signatures

If I recall right Ben & Chris are listed as writers on Slave & Bulldozers
The lydia and rory cornell train just keeps on chugging
Such a great album! Cheers!!
That was fun. It would be interesting to see you do this with Blazing Saddles or The Wizard of Oz.
36:04 so love this. One of my favorites
Yeah it's a kinda psychedelic vocal in tighter, reminiscent of being really high on something dissociative, popular in the 70s, re 2001
The riff on An unkind sounds like Dead on time from Queen.
Good call, I hear it.
The guys are fans of Brian May so it makes sense.
I’m here for Boot Camp
There's also a lot of Kim's traditional Indian timing in this album, sorta missing a beat and folding the rest around that collapse point
