My battery was 100% drained and I charhed it for 2 hours but it wouldn't charge; but when I heated the back and front of my iPhone 7plus for 3 minutes using house heat, it immediately worked. Thank you very much.

I used a heater and switched between phone sides by holding it a tiny bit away from the heater for 3 minutes, then I let it charge, hanging it next to the heater. After less than 10 mins, it turned on! Been looking through this comment section before it turned on too! Thanks!

I over drained my battery in winter, was talking till it switched off, after that wouldn't charge or switch on. Only showed red charging for hours/days. Tried Hair dryer trick, didn't work, kept in sun for few hours and it didn't work. Then I kept it near the refrigerator's compressor which is always warm. After keeping close to compressor for few hours, put it back to charging and in 1/2 hour came back to life, now 51% charged. Lesson don't over drain old batteries in winter.

As crazy as this heat thing sounds it worked, did this on a iPhone 7 plus, the phone would only show the charging and insert charging cable screen and would not force restart like other methods said. Watched this and aimed the hairdryer about 6-10 inches away from the touch screen side and heated the phone up while it charged and about 30 sec to a min it turned on after attempting to restart for hours previously, came on with 2% charge. Thanks a lot for this video.

I did the hair dryer to a dozen or more iPads that we replaced at my office & just let them sit for however long in the cold unCharged. "Success" on 95% *but* Actual Solution is still replacing the battery 8 out of 10 times. I've done the heat trick, let them charge literally weeks & then you unplug them & its useless. Which is what it is in the case of simply getting your valuables off the units. It's a shame Apple (& others I'm sure!) put such POS Batteries in their units
