I was born and went to University in Detroit. My father owned businesses in Detroit for 30 years. Its great to see parts of the city making a profitable come back!
First let me say I wish you guys the best of success. I’m 54 and I grew up a few blocks from there and I remember going there as a child when it was a fruit stand and produce market. When I got married I toyed with the idea of trying to buy it but my wife wasn’t onboard 🤣😂 can’t wait to see the finished results. I still live only a few blocks away
Amazing!! Thank you for following along and for the loveeeee! It's been an incredible experience so far! Haha and yea this space is pretty amazing but only few can see the vision! It's not too late to convince her for the next space!
drove by this everyday on the way to work to mack assembly.. can't believe you guys bought this! I've fantasized about buying that place. congrats!!
75 year old female from UK. I am excitedly looking forward to watching the transformation.
Me too, this is going to be fun.
From trinidad and tobago me too.
69 year old from Canada, I am here for it!!🥳🥳🥳
it's all about a vision, not everybody has it. Kudos to you young people who have taken on Detroit as a project, the city is very much worth restoring. So many great memories of this beautiful city that was once the wealthiest in the country.
My Dad was born and raised Detroit, I was raised in Detroit as well. I know Detroit at one time was the 5th largest city in the country, what made it the wealthiest? Enquiring mind wants to know
@@kp2855 Industry, a little research will enlighten. The automotive capitol of the world.
The plan is SIMPLE but NOT EASY: bedroom first so you can lay your head down after a long day of transforming, Kitchen second so you can reduce the time you need to go out to eat, third you do an entertainment space (not elaborate) so you can take a moment to breathe with your food and reset your mind from the hard day's work. After that, it's what ever is easiest (to have visible proof of progress, as completing tasks motivates further effort), and/or bathrooms so as to accommodate more assistance. Clean a room, repair the room, bring the room to neutral, rinse and repeat OR place in basic living condition. I'd go with bringing it to neutral and then moving to the next space because how you delineate spatial usage may change by the end. Congratulations on making such a thing happen, it is quite an accomplishment and I look forward to seeing your completed effort.
I’ve driven past this place for years and I’m glad you guys bought it.
Please do a video of any finds and anything repurposed from the warehouse.
We will be making some furniture out of some of the wood coming out of here. Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it!
I was thinking the same thing
Yes please I so excited to see where this goes
Very cool to watch. My ancestors came to Detroit from Belgium in 1880 and ran a family dairy business at 607 Lemay until the 1920s. Not far from where you’re at. Great to finally see rebirth of the Eastside.
translation: my ancestors were settler colonialists that participated in the anti-blk and anti-indigenous laws, cultures and the resultant financial windfalls from such endeavors. They were successful at this thereby propping up my family, and wyte supremacy till this day.
You my dear are ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! I’m moving back to the Toledo area in about a year and a half, after being away for almost 40 years in military service. Turning an old building into a resident’s has always peaked my interest. Keep up the grind! Go Tigers, Go RedWings, Go Lions, Go Pistons and Go Buckeyes!
They auction houses off In some areas LOOK AT- GOVDEALS
Wait a minute . BUCKEYES ?!?!
You were on a streak until you brought the Buckeyes onto the mix! 😂
The logistics here, an off the charts lesson in mess reappropriation.
58 year old man watching from Cleveland. Our neighborhoods have been HAMMERED just like Detroit's, so, I feel a certain "kinship" with your efforts. When I heard the radio playing in your "garage", my first thought went to CKLW. (I dont even know if you are going to be aware of that refeence, but, hey, everyone loves the Beach Boys!
41 from Cleveland and I totally agree! Looking forward to how this progresses.
Hey Jim I' live near Flint in Michigan. I just want to say hi and tell you my husband and I were commenting today that when we're in Ohio it reminds us of of Michigan, kinda the same lifestyle
We feel kindred spirits towards Ohio and took a few vacations there😊
Haha thank you for following along! And yesssss that station rocks!! It was on when we bought the space and we haven't tried it off!
Lots of space and LOTS OF WORK. Hope the pockets are deep. A BLANK CANVAS.
MAKE IT HAPPEN.
OMG I'M SO GLAD TO SEE THIS! I grew up in Detroit and only just moved away last year. I've driven past this place for DECADES and always thought it would make a beautiful home. You just gained a fan in New Orleans, behbee! I'm sending you so much love and support!!!
Boxes, schematics, paint cans, aprons, fans, drafting tables, half of a truck...What the HECK were the previous owners doing in that place? Lolol Having a live/workspace is a dream of mine. Looking for more uploads on the progress.
The previous owners were artists!!! And thank you for following along!!
The inside of the place looks like a perfect movie setting for one of the Walking Dead episodes or other spin off series'. Crazy! I could just imagine trying to find a building to survive in and this place would be so perfect to rehabitat for post apocalyptic living. So many good resources in here to make a great rehabbed hideout!
I am so glad to find your channel. I have shopped chip and dent my whole adulthood. I am 71 and live by the motto only mattresses, undies, and shoes need to be new. All the rest is window dressing.
If that was me, I would have had a lot of yard sales, sailing that junk .
That's ALOTTTTT of stuff.
OMG, that's what i was just talking about with my workmates about finding an warehouse because one of them are being stationed in Detroit(Military) in October. I asked her to look out for a property like this, and you guys got it, i am so jealous, but not hating.
I know that area so good. Lmao I beat you to all that architectural salvage by 40 years It's just really nice to see this new generation and detroit into the architectural salvage love it
Oh my goodness! You guys have yourselfs a diamond in the rough there.
Gutt the whole structure, come up with a cool floor plan.
All reidiant heating in the floor, fir out all the exterior walls for insulation. And on and on and on.
Hope the roof is in good condition?
Happy remodeling ❤❤❤❤❤
Hi there! Just discovered your channel this morning. I LOVE old abandoned houses and properties and watching them get transformed. I will be watching this one for sure.
Since you're in the business of up-cycling materials, you should find so much in this warehouse to incorporate in your renovation.
Side note - I grew up in a town north of Detroit, Rochester, recognized the road and had good times on Belle Isle, back in the 70's. I'm really drawn to saving this building in my home state!
We love to hear that! We saved as much as we could to reuse not just in the home itself but we will be making some furniture too, make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss anything!
Wow! What a great find! Excited to see how you decide which pieces to reclaim and repurpose. There are SO many to use! Love the cabinets and shelves especially😊
Bo...you got a beautiful eyes and a beautiful soul !! You're a good person. Greetings from Italy
Congratulations, you two. Welcome to the neighborhood. Can't wait to see your finished project. ❤
You Are Living That Industrial Revival Renovation Dream. Can’t Wait To See Every Moment. I can see your vision x I have it, too!!!😮😮😮❤❤❤❤
Wow!...I lived in a wearhouse in that neighborhood, it was located on the corner of East Jefferson and Jefferson Court right across the street from pop's car Wash. I knew one of the owners of your current Warehouse back in 2006, her name was Vicky, she had a husband but I never met him. I think they moved and someone else bought the, and you guys got it. I was so surprised to see the condition of the warehouse when you guys got it. I really hate that I let my warehouse go. Really would like to meet you guys when you guys have the time.
What an amazing space! One of my favorite thing is the outdoor space. Most industrial buildings don’t have the space for a great outdoor area. Wow. That side yard is beautiful. I can only imagine the potential. Your creativity can go wild! Can’t wait to see the progress and final product!!!
I think it's beautiful, I do have one thing to say I owned my own cleaning company before I retired and be very careful when removing that title, on the floor make sure it is really wet because most likely it has asbestos into it just keep it wet and you won't have to worry about inhaling you don't have to go crazy, and use a wet and dry back with a HEPA filter, to pick up any of the water debris. It can be a very costly adventure throwing it in a hazardous waste dump, just be very careful and definitely where a real good respirator also
Hell! I just noticed you have loads of previous stuff for me to watch. OH JOY!
Congratulations! I am really happy for you and so freaken jealous. Bon chance.
Make the top floor into a green house and get tomato and plant starters going in Feb, and then by May, there are some people who make like 40K just off of Tomato plants
I’m a 58 year old native Detroiter and I’m loving what I’m seeing you put into action! ❤ I’m definitely a new subscriber!
Thanks for subbing!
I can imagine the cost to keep that place warm in the winter. Property taxes will more than likely try to run you over. I lve the place though, I have been looking for a second spot in a community similar, but, it's a challenge in the DMV. Congratulations and good luck
Good Luck. You are a natural communicator. Can't wait to see what you do with the place.
Thank you! Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss any updates!
There are so many possibilities with a property like this
-I live in Brazil and as it is a poor country we have a tradition of reusing furniture.
-My last two apartments I made with furniture from a place like the salvation army where they resell old furniture donated to help their social cause.
-I'm about to immigrate to the USA and my plans include living in the city and building a container house to set up on land in the countryside and then living there, building a house from scratch and I'm definitely going to use the 'salvation army' technique" there too.
Wow, what a blast from the past. My grandma and I used to walk to that building every week. It was a fruit and vegetable market.
So cool!
I love your vision, passion, and enthusiasm 🥰
Just found your channel. Can’t wait to see what you do with this building. Hope you find some really good stuff to reuse and repurpose. While you were walking around, I saw a lot of interesting things.
I saw Flashdance as a teen and knew i wanted to live in a warehouse. Im working on owning one. I can't wait to see your progress.
This will be amazing. In my area someone turned a mid century modern bank into thier home the aesthetics are so beautiful I wish I could see an inside.
It’s going to be a hard and wonderful journey. Wishing you both the very best and May your home be exactly what you envisioned.
I love this building. Some of the former owners used to have amazing fun art in the front yard. From 2000-2017, I drove in front of it 1-2 times per week. I cannot tell you how much I love it. I can't wait to see what you do with it. I am so jealous. :D
Very cool!
This is my dream and I can't wait to see all of the updates! I would turn that truck bed into a jacuzzi!
I’m very happy for you. Huge project. You saw past the clutter of the past. I will follow your mission
It's awesome I'm so envious of you guys.
This is going to be beautiful!! I'm looking forward to go on your journey with you
I love warehouses too! so happy to see you doing this. congrats!
Love it. Keep up the good work. Detroit needs more ppl like you all.
My interest is peaked. New subscriber! 👋
Wow can't wait to see the finished product ❤
Definitely excited to watch the full transformation!
you two are an inspiration!
You will have problems with the flat roof system. If you must replace the roof, best to convert to something with a pitch.
So exciting and so much potential in that space. What an amazing home / shop that is going to be!
I can't wait to see the after photos! I've thought about doing this in Cleveland for a while. You guys are inspiring me!
Cool warehouse, and idea. I would keep the shop area a shop and maybe put the living area upstairs.
This is awesome! Can't wait to see it finished.

I can't wait to watch what you do!
This is a pretty exciting project. Glad to see your energy!
I think that is amazing. It’s the first time I’ve seen your show. I bet you guys found a lot of treasures in there.
I admire the mission and your incredible vision!
You two should have a television show. I would not miss one episode. Loving it 😊😊
Based on how this county works....im sure they (or at least) 1 of them have the connections
We grew up near Gratiot and Gunston in the "D" and appreciate the goldmine of materials that you found and find in those old buildings. Thanks for saving and reusing all that cool stuff. Subscribing to watch this transformation!

The building is beautiful and so is the yard .I just subscribed and am looking forward to see how you renovate this space. I am a Michigander and I don't live far from Detroit. Bo your eyes are stunning!
i just lucked into finding your channel. i love your ethos and will watch with excitement from canada❤
Wish you were a touch closer....I love this kind of work. It would be fun to spend a day with sleeves rolled up!
( I took over a storage spot...it took me a month of Sundays to clear out the old stuff. I sorted and recycled every last piece of paper.....but after some months I began moving my stuff in. It was easy to fool with my things and put off the final cleaning....but I would do it the very same way next time ). Fun for me.
Just found your channel know I am going to enjoy watching your journey.
