    if they can build cheap cabins like that then why is there so many homeless? set up mobile parks for them within city limits so they can get jobs and do what they have to do. Wish these companies had a heart!

      Because then they couldn't scare people into bigger better homes or poorer people into staying in shitty apartments.
      And I guess you are unaware of the trend of buying mobile home parks and raising the lot rent so high people who outright own their trailer abandon them.

      The majority of the homeless aren’t people who want to work….they also won’t go into any shelters because shelters have rules…and they don’t want to follow any rules. California itself has set up many tiny home and other kinds of living spaces for the homeless….and the homeless refuse to go in them because there are rules in place. Homeless people have actually said those words with their own mouths every time they get interviewed and every time some social worker or shelter worker tries to get them to enter their shelters or tiny homes.
      Also…there was a UA-camr who raised money and bought a homeless man a house and gave him money….that homeless man destroyed the house and blew through all the money in a short time. Don’t think that just because you give a homeless person a place to live that they will do anything to take care of it…because they won’t. And I’m talking about the majority…..there are a tiny amount who are actually wanting to work and find a place to live…and that tiny amount actually goes to the shelters provided already and follows the rules in place…..but the majority don’t want to do any of that…they don’t want to live the way you think they should live….they want to do what they want to do. Stop acting like building more and more for the homeless will solve the homeless situation….because it won’t….majority will still choose to live on the streets. And none of this is any company’s fault….so don’t act like it is.

      $7,500 for a Quick Cabin is not very quick when you factor in labor hours to pay for it. hahahha. It's only a 10 x 10 structure? You can get a Carport for $160 that is 12 x 20. Then just add onto the structure - build the foundation platform easily and get EMT conduit and another tarp - and put in a stove jack. Insulation with metal panels say for fire proof.

    My overall takeaway from this as an American home builder... Just because you can, doesnt mean you should. I would say itsa 50/50 on the engineering ideas here. Either someone smoked so much weed they just got bored and the good idea fairy showed up or it was definitely magic mushrooms or acid. Then again... If one lives in an area where sheer panels dont exist... Okay, I could see it if the labor and fabrication is cheap enough. And I supposed some places lumber in general might be tough to come by. I live in Oregon so... I had a friend in Egypt... He told me the strangest thing many years ago... He dreams of living in a wood house... I said to myself what an odd thing... Yeah there isnt a lot of wood in Egypt... So perspective is important.

    Personally, I think that modular pieces are the way to go vs whole "homes"(depending on the company), especially if the point is to reduce construction costs and waste. Experienced builders would still be necessary, because very few build sites will be perfect, and a proper foundation is always a must.

      @luisostasuc8135 4 місяці тому

      As opposed to all the time it takes to make traditional materials? It's not like concrete needs to be mined and aggregated, or plywood needs to be made from the shavings from the lumber that also needs to be cut from forests, not to mention shipping. Copper wiring needs to be made from refined copper ore, etc, etc, etc.

    • @corytheriault2365
      @corytheriault2365 4 місяці тому

      @luisostasuc8135 just pointing out that if you add factory assembly time with deployment time you aren't really saving any time. The prefab real strengths are better utilization of materials , avoidance of any weather based issues and less work on the build site .
      P.s. your examples are useless, the plywood would be used in both types of construction, the cement for a foundation would be the same amount of time whether you built a traditional building or deployed a modular/quick deploy structure rendering any of those arguments pointless

    I didn’t hear anything about bathrooms or kitchens. Hard to call something a home without facilities. I’m also curious whether the home insurance companies are offering coverage for these quick-build homes 🤔

    It would be a lot more interesting if you used metric measurements. After all, more than 98% of the countries of the world use metric measurements, and I'm not from Myanmar.

      And 62 mph winds is not "all the whims of nature". I'm thinking after a good wind it's a low orbit capsule or after a good snow it's a burial unit.
      For the A-house, can someone explain why I would want exceptional heat transfer in my wood infused with mineral fibers? Is it possible these "ads" were lifted from The Onion?

    Yeah but the real question is how sturdy and safe is any of these mobile temporary portable houses at being able to hold kidnap victims? Will they be able to escape pretty easy? Or are they pretty stable enough that wherever you put them out in the woods that any of your kidnapped victims won't be able to scream or be heard for miles? Asking for a Democrat friend
