    Assistance please:
    Anyone have experience with a White Industries version of this type of BB? The BB I'm dealing with also has a small port on each flat. I believe that you are supposed to rotate the crank to line up a few 2mm hex head screws by 1/2 rotation (enabling the removal of the square taper shaft).
    Bicycle Man....ever run into this particular BB?? On an older(late 1990's - early 2000's) KHS Aero Turbo.
    Thanks all in advance!

      I have not seen that type of bottom bracket. Sounds unusual that you would have to leave the crankset on, rotate it, before loosening the two screws. Can you attach a picture that shows us what your describing? 👊👍

    How to remove a sealed cartridge bb with the bb tool without damage?,notches are so shallow and bb tool will not hold in place.

      Hi Bruce, I would have to see what your dealing with. Not sure why the notches would not fit or at least grab what ever your turning.

    How we remove left side bottem cup

    • @BicycleRestorationMan
      @BicycleRestorationMan  3 роки тому

      Hi Mangesh, the left side is the adjustment race. It’s a lot easier to remove. First remove the lock ring (outer ring with the notches on it) by turning it counter clockwise. Then remove the adjusting race by turning it counter clockwise. That race may have holes on it that are made for a pin spanned. If you don’t have one, you can use a needle nose pliers. Hope that helps.

    in this operation, viz., having...recalcitrant fixed cup to be removing, what is called "penetrating oil" is so completely useless, or unlikely to minimize need of...brawn, as not even worthy to be referred to?
    penetrating oil in this operation cannot be downright harmful, I trust.
    in preparation, or approach, to fixed cup... challenge, vinegar can serve well , or not at all?

      Yes, could not hurt at all to try it and to mention it. This video was meant to show how this tool keeps the BB wrench from sliding off which most times, is all it takes. Not necessarily to show how to remove a really difficult fixed cup. Thanks for the insight Bill.

      Both? Are you saying that the fixed cup is still stuck and what else? Did you make sure you are turning it in the right direction? Just thought I would check.

      @@BicycleRestorationMan I just received the tool from Amazon and tried it with the washers and bolt to no avail and destroyed the fixed cup and damaged the frame a little bit going in the clockwise direction. Think that I'm going to call Kent and see what they could do. They were already supposed to be sending me another bottom bracket and I took some pictures of all of the rust that was in there but forgot to take pictures of the bearings before I started soaking them in paint thinner.

      @@BicycleRestorationMan I just took apart two other ones before this one with no problems and that was with a crappy crescent wrench without even stripping it and the other required the internal bottom bracket tool.
