Have you tried to bleed them from bottom to the top? I always did it from bottom to top, as this is what Hayes recommends, but never ended up with a satisfying result, so I definitely try the method you presented. Thanks!

I ordered one of these for a set of porteur bars, do you think theres enough stretch to run brake cables under the leather? Not concerned about shrinkage, worst case if it fails down the line its just an excuse to rewrap them. Not entirely heart set on under wrap cable routing, but it would look super clean with the bar end levers im going to be using

@BicycleRestorationMan one thing that should work in my favor is that at least the porteurs have a lot less surface to wrap than drops. If the cable doesnt actually fit under the wrap, I'm hoping I'll have enough excess to be able to use it to cover at least some of the housing. Thats if I have enough extra material and can figure something out as far as an adhesive option that doesn't look like shit

You need different cutter for brake housing and different for shift housing. The cutter you have in the beginning of video works well on shift housing, while it leaves sharp cut half coils in brake housing. Best cutters for brake housing are these plier type, a good quality pliers will have great cutters for brake housing.

Tried a couple of these. With really tight tyres you just can't locate the lever under the bead, even when you can, no amount of force will get it moving. The crank brothers design is even worse, because it flexes at the tip. No substitute for metal levers, but watch your expensive rims 😮

Assistance please: Anyone have experience with a White Industries version of this type of BB? The BB I'm dealing with also has a small port on each flat. I believe that you are supposed to rotate the crank to line up a few 2mm hex head screws by 1/2 rotation (enabling the removal of the square taper shaft). Bicycle Man....ever run into this particular BB?? On an older(late 1990's - early 2000's) KHS Aero Turbo. Thanks all in advance!

Had to go to 3 different beauty supply stores with the frame to match the paint with a nail polish. Nail polish dries hard and comes in an unbelievable amount of colors. You can also go to an Automotive paint shop but its expensive. I have done that when I needed to repaint the whole bike. They even put it in a spray can.👍👊

One of the reasons I took my toe straps off was because the design of today's athletic shoes are much wider than they used to be. The straps were just too short for my fat foot. Just lately, I bought some fabric straps and they are much longer and work much better.

@@BicycleRestorationMan Yes, but that is after the cable has gone through the shifter and it now needs to go into the housing. My problem was getting it through the bend inside the shifter.
