Always love when the two of you play and narrate your fantastic homebrew story lines. The game REALLY brings the feeling of the movies. A brave Newt making one harrowing escape after another! Thanks for the fun and looking forward to the next episode!
Love that. Those Weirdos games are so good for improvised movie based games. I found myself thinking of how ya might do a Die Hard game, or perhaps Robocop. Or maybe even swamp-set Princess Bride games with Buttercup and Westley tackling Rodents of Unusual Size. Lots of cool stuff to do.
Great to have you both back making the best battle reports on the internet! Just an observation, when Lynn rerolled the 1 result twice: page 2, section 2.2 of Sword Weirdos states that you cannot reroll a die twice, you must accept result of the reroll! Still thoroughly enjoyed the bat -rep. 😉👍
Hi Brian. You are of course correct. I’ll just say that when shooting a video, or simply playing a game, sometimes I just go with the flow, rather than stopping the story’s momentum, referring to the rules, explaining the rule, and then trying to pick up where we left off. Maybe that’s playing fast and loose, but it keeps the action going.
@@oldhammered Totally understand and totally agree to keeping the game's momentum flowing! For one off games this would be my MO too, however if it was a series of games forming a campaign, then each situation may evolve into a key moment? Not a criticism of correction implied, merely an observation and game fleshing out addition idea. 😉
Possible error in the beginning. You mentioned that the first facehugger had 2d6 defense, but when it was downed it should have had 2d4, but rolled 2D6. Glad to see you guys back in action. You make some of my favorite batreps.
Oooo. I've got the old Aliens vs. Predator heroclix. I've been waiting to make a Predator team in a skirmish game. This game just may work. Omg. Just looked it up. There are stealth suits and all! THANK YOU SOO VERY MUCH!!!
NICE SCENARIO!!!!!!! Love the table!!!! You should do an aliens movie with a camera on her face I need to do the same for my wife she HATES scary suspenseful movies!!!! God what a GREAT MOVIE that was!!!!!!!!!
In case you're interested: The Aliens are Prodos Games AVP figures and the facehuggers are old Necromunda Ripperjacks. Newt is a Void militia mini. The marines are plastic GW Imperial Guard.
Hi Steve. We picked up a stack of used GW boards at a swap meet a while back. I don’t know the name of this particular board, but yeah, it’s probably for Kill Team.
By the way … Where did you get those unique face huggers? “We’re going to say that the full grown Xenos explode into an acid bath, but the face huggers do not” What??? From the first Alien movie it was established that the face huggers could not be safely removed from a host because cutting into the face hugger would create a burst of acid, killing the host. Later in the Alien movie set in the Antarctic, I can’t remember the name if that awful film, it was clear that shooting at a face hugger that had lunged at you would simply end up spraying all its acid blood on yourself, thus killing you.
We used old metal Necromunda Ripperjacks for the Face Huggers. As to the acid-splash issue, it was just a creative choice on our part. Seems like there was very little face hugger acid splash in “Aliens” when they got shot to pieces point blank.
@@oldhammered About the acid inconsistencies in Aliens, I’m really surprised about that. That director, James Cameron, is typically such a perfectionist. Lol Thanks so much for identifying those face huggers for me!
Not at this time, though we have spoken to Space Weirdos author Casey Garske about making scenario PDFs for the game. Hopefully that's something we can do in the future.
I have a question. I created my Predator team and showed the game to my friends group, and one of them, after reading the rules, mentioned that I made my team wrong. I missed the paragraph about equipment that states minions can purchase 1 item, and leaders can purchase 2. I made my entire team with heavy armor, jump packs, and stealth suits in an attempt to recreate their abilities. Would it be too broken to allow such things?
Eh, why let the rules get in the way of your fun? While your friend is technically correct, I’d say try it and see. Maybe give the other team a points boost for balance. If it turns out to be a glorious mess, who cares? It’s just a game after all.

Thanks Ron! The dice were looking out for Newt, that’s for sure. It was hilarious.
And always love seeing Space Weirdos rules on the table. You all two do a great job of using those rules to fit your homebrews.
Great game, Terry and Lynn!
Thanks Casey. Your rulesets are our go-to engines for sci-fi and fantasy narrative games. Clean, efficient and oh-so adaptable!

Great battle report. Can´t wait to see the conclusion in part 2.
Glad you liked the first installment. It turned out to be a bigger beast than anticipated, so we had to break it up.
Thanks!
Thanks very much Paul. We really appreciate it.
Great to hear you two playing again. I regret not getting that jet while they were cheap(ish).

Excellent scenario design and combining both rulesets is such a clever idea. Looking forward to part 2. Thanks for sharing!
Your narrative games are the best on the Internet. Great work 😀👍
Thank you kindly. We try.

Thanks Benjamin. It wouldn’t surprise me. Maybe some folks play error-free games, but we certainly don’t.
Cool scenario. I made the same rule that xenos explode in in acid spray too. Have not played yet...maybe this week.

Hello Paul. Thank you much! It made our morning. We're very glad you enjoyed the vid.
Man this sounds like tons of fun!
Love those green bases.
That was a cool game. Thanks for that.
Fun really enjoying it.
Great game! Keep up the good work.
Good to have you back!
Thanks! We're happy to be here. More than I can say.
Great 👍👍
Great little game, packs a lot of action into a low figure count
Where did you get that lander/ship? Looks great … and I’m sure it would look even better with my 15mm sci-fi figures. :)
That is a Dust Tactics Der Blitz/Der Adler. And yeah, it would make a great 15mm dropship.
@@oldhammered Thanks!
So cool.
new oldhammer upload - good day today
Good stuff. The blue Astra Milatarum minis were a nice touch, did it paint them just for this?
Actually those are second hand minis from a while back. They worked well for the scenario though.
I want the minis for my collection. They are so cool

Love it looking forward to part 2. What board is that you are using? Looks like a GW kill team board?
Hi Steve. We picked up a stack of used GW boards at a swap meet a while back. I don’t know the name of this particular board, but yeah, it’s probably for Kill Team.
It's from the 'Arena' expansion for the 2018 version of Kill Team. It was that edition's version of 'Into the dark'

Do you have a pdf of all the specs for these characters? I would love to play this scenario too. :)
Not at this time, though we have spoken to Space Weirdos author Casey Garske about making scenario PDFs for the game. Hopefully that's something we can do in the future.
What's the game board itself from, if I may?
I’m told it’s from the 2018 Arena Kill Team expansion.
@@oldhammered Ah, I thought it might be a Kill Team (2018) board but didn't recognize it. Thanks!

Who makes the game board?
We picked that up second hand at a swap meet, but I’m pretty sure it’s a GW Kill Team board.
GW. it from the 2018 Kill Team expansion 'Arena' it's double-sided, with a sort of 'Bespin Freeze Chamber' look on the other side.
Cripes, I actually have that set in storage!
