love this! as someone who just bought a copy, this batrep is both entertaining and educational. i especially appreciate your narration, saying why a dice state has changed while neither reciting the rulebook verbatim nor skipping over the rule entirely. cant wait to see more!
The game looks a lot of fun. Just grabbed the instructions - I’ve got so many minis I’ve never used, gives me an excuse to paint up and use some different ones 😊
Thanks for sharing this! I recently received Space Weirdos as a gift, and this and the how to play video are very helpful for learning the game. Looking forward to playing!
I have to say, I am really enjoying these Space Wierdo play-throughs. You do a really good job of presenting the skirmish. And those rules! So straightforward. So intuitive. I actually understood this game within five minutes of starting watching. I can’t say that about most rule-systems. Very impressive. Will have to grab a copy. Thanks both.
Wouldn't the movement marker be enough to signify that the model was done activating? Why put the blue marker own afterward? I don't like a lot of tokens among my miniatures; when I run Space Weirdos, I plan on just using movement markers to denote that the model(s) had completed their turn. I have movement markers with '0' on them, so even if a model remained stationary, we'll see that its turn is complete.
Question: At the 17:30 mark, why does she roll on the Under Attack table if she's the attacker? Isn't the Target of the attack supposed to roll on either the Under Attack or Under Fire table when hit?
Hi Dennis. If I was playing the bugs and the marines were playing defensively, I'd use the bugs' speed and camouflage to encircle the marines from the outside, then try to force a marine overwatch by attacking a straggler. Once the marines had expended their one and only overwatch, I'd try to mind control the flamethrower and hose the APC down with napalm.
@@oldhammered oh nice! The 2nd edition rules just got released on Patreon too, I've just been reading through them. Bit of a different beast than Space Weirdos but seems like it could be fun for sure!
Just a few new rules made for a very different sort of fight. Camo effect obviously makes hunting bugs much more dangerous. Marines could set up a defensive position and wait but mission with a time limit might demand they keep moving to search and destroy. The sniper needs to requisition a new scope that can compensate. More area effect weapons that could probe by fire would help, too.
It depends on what size game you want. Grimdark Future Firefight has a higher model count, so it’s generally a “bigger” game. If you want an ultra low model count, SW is a good choice.
The game is overall super balanced. The game allows for dice type to change often but going from D6 to D8 only changes the next average by 2. Great game to play imo.
Yes. If you purchased your PDF at Wargame Vault, the solo rules are included as a separate PDF. If you purchased your copy elsewhere, you may have to ask for it.
Hi Ray. That’s from the EnderToys Broken Vehicle Bundle on Amazon. You get the APC, a melted tank and a wrecked Jeep for $25. Good for alien invasion scenarios.
Love these Space Weirdo games with Lee and Lynn.
Thank you very much! We're posting another game of Space Weirdos this afternoon.

Great scenario idea. Thanks for the playthrough!
I like the little animated effects to emphasize things that happen or come up in the battle. Good presentation, mate.
Love your channel and your vibe. Looking forward to more Space Weirdos!
At first glance, I thought you were trying the Bug Hunt ruleset. But happy for another Space Weirdos batrep
Just bought this and got some teams ready. Excited to give this a shot! Great run through too!
Great set up! Thank you for these play throughs. I'm off to purchase this game.
Loved your vid and just subscribed. Would love to see more Space Weirdos bat reps!
Just discovered your channel and its great, thanks for the Tutorial videos.
More of this. These marines look great

bought these rules after your first play through..great rules
Old Bob Olley Pratriarch, nice!
Those marines need to pull out their motion detector!
Game over man! Game over!
Great video!!
those bugs look like old tyranids
Love the narrative. And reuse of some ooooold miniatures.where did u get the war of the worlds collapsed mech terrain piece?
Hi Stompie. That walker is from All Quiet on the Martian Front. Picked it up second hand at a con.
@@oldhammered thanks.
@@oldhammered works well.

Hi Bryan. That was a while ago, so I don't really remember. Might have been a mistake.
Enjoyable game - cool rules for 5 bucks!
At the close up of Lt. Dan's combat, I noticed your slick slick dice trey is wood, not 3D Printed. Do you remember where you got it?
That was from an Etsy store called the Viking Carpenter, but I don't think he's selling there anymore.
Guess I'll stick with my coffee lid for a bit longer
The marines should back up and force the bugs out in to the open a little more
That makes sense
Really enjoyed this playthrough. Would love to see more. Have you seen or played Planet 28?
Hi Thom. I backed the latest Planet 28 Kickstarter, but haven’t dug into the PDF yet.

Another downside to a defensive strategy: The brain bug might mind-control the flame thrower or the grenade-packing lieutenant.
Do you prefer this or the grim dark One page rules?

dice with nerfs/buffs seems almost ridiculously swingy/goofy...still may try it
The game is overall super balanced. The game allows for dice type to change often but going from D6 to D8 only changes the next average by 2. Great game to play imo.
Are there solo rules for Space Weirdos?
Yes. If you purchased your PDF at Wargame Vault, the solo rules are included as a separate PDF. If you purchased your copy elsewhere, you may have to ask for it.
Where did you get that sweet APC?
Hi Ray. That’s from the EnderToys Broken Vehicle Bundle on Amazon. You get the APC, a melted tank and a wrecked Jeep for $25. Good for alien invasion scenarios.
Thanks for the source.
Awesome playthrough where did you get the aliens recognize one of them as a gene stealer patriarch right
Yeah, that's an old Patriarch. I think we bought the regular metal Nids on the Dakka swap shop listings several years ago.
Sounds fun
A bit disappointed, no pvt. Hudson.
Seems cool but totally unbalanced!!
