In today’s miniature wargaming battle report we play a steampunk Wild West scenario using the Space Weirdos sci-fi skirmish rules from Garske Games! #wargaming #battlereport #miniaturewargaming
Orc gunfighting bounty-hunters? What fantastic madness have I stumbled upon? Delightful! o7
Gotta love your narrative battle reports. Orcs in cowboy clothing is just so weird it's actually awesome!
“Low”? This is incredible. This video and one’s like it are the reason I subscribe to your channel. The game, the models the dice! And the awesome handcrafted stories you weave are the highest quality one could ask for.
I really appreciate this great bat rep. Even your low budget reports have great production value.
Excellent bat rep! Would love more low budget space weirdo/sword weirdo bat reps in the future. What make are the pre-coloured buildings? They look great.
Hi Andrew. I believe the buildings are from PlastCraft Games, though I’m not sure if they’re still around.
Great batrep as always! I love how Space Weirdos has just enough rules to let you tell great stories but doesn’t slow things down.
Excellent bat rep and warbands! Space Weirdos is hands down my favorite ruleset and now I want to make some space cowboy warbands. Thanks for sharing!
Best battle reports out there! Appreciate the content while y’all are going through your current situation. All the best.
If I ever get around to making my own battle reports, the fun and clarity of your videos are the benchmark.
GREAT to see you able to put together another typically FUN Battle Report, Terry, so soon after your recent woes... Enjoyed it very much. Thank You! 😊👍 This particular encounter was also an excellent example of how a very modest amount of space… a few buildings & just a handful of figures… are more than enough to be able to play the sort of entertaining tabletop game that’s easy to learn & participate in, & genuinely enjoyable for all the participants - whether one wins or loses!
🎲 😂🤝😄👍
Still praying for your health issues & that you’ll be able to restore your Games Room after the flood damage, with a minimum of expense, upheaval & inconvenience. Do Take Care, & may God Bless you & your loved ones. 🙏
Great to see you back in the saddle with another awesome battle report, using one of my favorite rule systems!
Really love the Space Weirdos batreps. Great game system. Great idea for a game too.
Hey, if this is low budget, then everything else is WAAAAY overproduced. Your ability to tell a story while explaining gameplay is unrivaled. Great stuff. Informative AND entertaining! Thank you!
Great video. Nice and punchy edit with all the good stuff and none of the waffle. Really glad to see you straight back to it and to hear you're getting some much deserved support!
Looks like a nice, simple and fun game. Glad to hear things are settling down after the flood
Your videos are always well produced. I like the narration, multi camera setup and the little special fx. You also seem to know how to balance your audio unlike most YT creators. Great stuff! The only thing missing is the calm/ ASMR, laid back banter between you and Lynn 😊
Thank you very much. Lynn was traveling last week, so I was on my own. Also, there's too much echo in the game room to record there right now, so I have to record voice overs after the fact.
This is exactly what I needed thank you for posting!
Love the figures!!
So glad to see your return! Hope all is well. Love this battle report and loo forward to more!
You’re very kind Ron. Thank you so much. Glad you liked the video.
Just love these no-nonsense battle reports - you narrate them so so well and make them so enjoyable to watch. Good luck with all the repairs and restorations after the flood 😁🇦🇺👍
Honestly really like this level of production value - great video!
So sorry about your basement! But thanks for the report, I always love to see them.
Not "low budget" and certainly not low interest. Nice to see you back on feet. Very entertaining video and nice miniatures mix.
Really fun to watch, I love the narration!
Love you guys! I will always watch this channel even if you shoot it in your driveway.
Thanks! I hope it doesn’t come to that…
Thanks!
Thank YOU John. Much appreciated!
Orcs played dirty
What a lot of fun. This report has convinced me to put the $5 down.
Great video and using Space Weirdos for a Western shootout is a great idea! Thanks for posting.
Awesome Terrain, Awesome Ruleset, Awesome video 😎🤙
awesome Space Weirdos battle report! I like to use battle reports to see how to play and this vid does an excellent job of showing the game's mechanics...and be entertaining as well. Also love your command point coins.
Those are old Mardi Gras coins from the thrift store!
@@oldhammered And see I learned something today: that dice tray, keeping the used command points in it is what my games need. I'm always losing track of whether I used them or not.
very fun battle report.
Great video as always! Life can take away one's stuff, but it can't take one'd skill and passion
Stop being down on yourself for things being low budget or unprofessional, your batreps still rock 👍🏻 Also, I hadn't looked at space weirdos before & I'm liking what I see, somehow feels nicely cinematic. May well look at it for my 15mm sci fi games.
Space Weirdos is very versatile and only costs five bucks. It's one of my go-to rulesets.
@@oldhammered I currently play 5 parsecs which I absolutely love, a very crunchy campaign game. But sometimes you just have an hour to kill and want to throw some models on the board and get them murdering each other, this looks like a fun one shot rule set.
Thank you.
This was a wonderful game fantastic report. Those rules look like they are a little gem for games like this. 👌
Love the “low budget.” Regardless, your content is high quality. From what companies are those minisyou used? Thanks for the video!
The Orcs are from a UK company called Miniaturemen. I think the others are for Malifaux, but I’m not 100 percent sure.
That was really fun. Very full of character. Love a good western, much less in space.
good, quick to the point and no waffling :)
Mmmm… Waffles.
Space weirdos is the best! We play it using our old Mega Construx Halo, Destiny and Call of duty figures. This game allows for Lots of easy customizations. We added ODST and Elite reinforcements as a command point. We love playing this game. So fun!
I just picked these rules up after watching this video!
Amazing! Amazing !!! Entertaining, awesome models and espetacular video
Awesome game. Love those figures!
PS. Who makes those foam buildings?
Who makes the Colonel's miniatures. Just ordered the rules via your link. Do you have links for other games? (Sword Weirdos)
I think the buildings were made by PlastCraft Games.
I acquired those figures second hand, but I’m assuming they’re for Malifaux. Could be wrong though.
Todd: Here’s the Sword Weirdos link. www.wargamevault.com/product/437324/Sword-Weirdos?manufacturers_id=7692&affiliate_id=1249856
You said 'low budget', but I was getting both Peter Jackson AND Sam Peckinpah.
awesome battle report hope we get a sequel
Man i always wanted to play a cool western themed skirmish game. Thanks so much for these bat reps!!! Brother, if i had more $$$ id donate a ton. Imho this is one of the best miniature skirmish channels on the webs..awesome!!! If I can give an opinion on the channel. Dont make it too polished. The grass roots amateur vibe is why i love it. Audio and camera sure, but i find over polished channels are all about production with less concern on the content. Just my 7 CDN cents, conversion about 2 US cents.
BEST BATTLE REPORT EVER! Where did you get the Ork Cowboys and the terrain and mat?!
Glad you enjoyed it. I think that’s a savanna mat from Frontline Gaming. Buildings are from PlastCraft Games. Orcs are from a UK company called Miniaturemen that I think mostly sells on eBay now.
@@oldhammered Amazing, thank you. I aspire to have a collection like yours one day. Also I hope your basement is getting repaired quickly and you are feeling better! Thank you for everything you do.
Thanks Jason. Actually if I could go back I'd pick a particular game or genre and just focus on that. My collection got out of hand at some point, and now we need to pare it down. Had a lot of fun along the way though!
Malifaux miniatures!! Loving it
I love your videos. Keep up the great work.
Fun video!
More pls! This is wicked
Love your content! Hope everything’s still doing okay what with the current issues :)
Fun watch
Great battle report as always!! Where did you get those wild west Orcs?
Glad you liked the vid! The Orcs are from a UK company called Miniaturemen: www.ebay.com/itm/266261027130?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=w8xxoio7Sfm&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=J7ppHM06TSq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@@oldhammered Thanks!!!
Love those ork gunslingers! Are they a custom hand-sculpt?
Those are from a UK company called Miniaturemen: www.ebay.com/itm/266261027130?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=w8xxoio7Sfm&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=J7ppHM06TSq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@@oldhammered They're wonderfully weird!
Thanks!
Space is ace! :)
The way you pronounce "reticle" as "ridicule" give me a chuckle.
Delightful.
that purple sombrero, its tight
Great to see life didn't keep you down for long, I do have a question though. You said the Orc warband had "Gun fighters" as there warband trait but I cant see that in my copy of the rules for Space Weirdos". Is there an update or expansion I have missed or is this a house rule?
Ah. It might not be in the book. "Gunfighters" is however a trait option in the official Space Weirdos warband builder: spaceweirdo.netlify.app/warband
Thanks for the link. I didn't know this existed.
Still lookin good to me!
I love your batreps. Always a treat on my watch lists. I'm enamored by the models you used for the outlaws in this one. Do you happen to remember where you got them from? I tried searching for weird west minis online and cannot for the life of me find these ones. TIA
I think the revolutionaries are probably Malifaux minis. I acquired them second hand, so I'm not 100 percent sure.
This minis are well painted
magnificent
Regarding the team traits, Plucky Rebels and Gunfighters, are these custom rules you made for the Western theme?
Hey there. As I recall, they are standard options available in the online warband builder, but they might not be in the actual book.
@@oldhammered I'm glad I asked! I had an Excel builder but I wasn't aware of the online one, which indeed has additional traits and equipment. Thanks!
skirmish games have some unique charm to me, thank you for the video, i´m gad we have this one today.
Nice video... where are those buildings from?
We bought those from Miniature Market I think, but they were made by a company called Plast Craft Games.
Thanks you for sharing your game. I would have love a Super Weidos to see super heroes.
Do you think I could use Lego for this game, solo ?
Yes! It’s absolutely Lego friendly.
Is Big Irving the 142nd fastest gun in the West?
Affirmative. 👍
