As someone that has a tiny bedroom, I recommend a higher/elevated bed so you can put boxes underneath your bed as well as to have more space for your stuff
agreeee! my bed is on 2x2 and 2x4 ikea kallax units and the storage is insane.. because i also really need it. my bedroom is only 2meters by 3,5 meters. i need all the space i can get haha
Definitely helps! My dad built me a bed frame that I could easily slide rubbermaid tubs under and it gave me so much more storage space!! Which is very needed as a fabric and craft supply horder!!
I brought an ottoman bed for this reason! Love it
Same here, I was lucky enough to have simple square posts in the bed frame with the head ones longer so I just swapped them to the foot end and got new longer square wood that I cut and drilled for the head end. Worked perfect and there's so much space under my bed for boxes of fabrics, board games and monsters :D
I have a small house and love how living in tight spaces motivates organization and discourages consumption of stuff you don't have room for❤️

so true..once i have my own place i dont want sm stuff..if you have a big room..you'd want to fill those empty spaces thus buying more stuff 😢😅
Uhm I live in a small apartment and it’s mayhem 😂 If you are disorganised by nature (or trauma) it’s really hard.
Did you think about putting your yellow couch on the long wall where you put the artwork?
I think it would open up the room and maybe you can put a long bench where your windows are in this area so you can display some decor. 🎈

Can we talk about how aesthetic and homey her new place feels, despite it being most of the same stuff I think her creativity is pure.
Jenna, I think it is so cool that you make your home comfortable and personalized, even though you know you won't be there forever. When I lived in apartments and knew I'd eventually be moving out I never wanted to decorate or put time in to making it comfortable. I'm really excited for you and I wish you all the best in this new chapter of your life ❤

Not everyone has a huge space to DIY. Most of us live in a small apartment or house that we live in and can not just clear it out.

@@Milquetoast702 lol. My husband would die if I did that. I have every tool (manual and power) to do whatever job. My husband is surprised that I know how to use them. After over 30 years together he should not be surprised.

I love watching you decorate and style whether it's spaces or clothes. We have such different styles but I adore your taste!! There are so many combinations I would have never thought of and you somehow always manage to make everything work out and come together wonderfully.
I do want to say though: please please please wash the sheets/duvet covers/pillowcases after you purchase them from the store! They are not as clean as they look and are often sprayed with substances to make them look neat, but it's best to wash them off for safety.
One thing is for sure, your plant game is on point!

I have the same Ikea table and it's also my sewing table! We added swivel casters on the bottom so it can easily slide out into the room when I need it! I highly recommend adding the casters -- it makes an already functional table SO much more convenient.

As someone who had to start from scratch again 15 years ago, but with 4 children, you are doing an amazing job. Your place is looking so cosy and very much you. So proud of you. I honestly can’t believe you didn’t just crochet a plant hanger in lieu of not being able to macrame something! So many cute options! Everything is coming along so good. Can’t wait to see the end result. I wish I had my own place to decorate.

I must admit I wasn't on board with the crocheted blanket at first, but it looks so amazing with the rest of your new bedding. It looks very cozy and colorful and bohemian. Also think that the mesh shelf with the plants looks really good there. Your place is coming together!
The pillow covers you made are gorgeous and that crochet blanket on your bed is a steal of a find. Filet stitch even!
Love everything you got. I especially love the thrifted blanket. The duvet and sheets look perfect with it. The pillow cases are really pretty. I gasped when you cut the crochet thinking it would all just unravel but the serger to the rescue. Note to self.

I have the exact same ikea dining table, for the same reason. I live in a small flat and the table pulls triple duty as a dining table, sewing/crafting table and office space on days I work from home. Plus it has storage! It's excellent.
That thrifted blanket is so fabulous! It looks really great with the new duvet, sheets, and those pillow cases. Your new space is coming along wonderfully.

The blanket looks great! Also I use regular yarn all the time to make simple macrame hangers for plants. It's totally worked for me including for pots hanging from my ceiling above me for 3+ years!

The new chairs look great. Glad to see the lounge back, I've always secretly drooled over it and the lounge chair. The blanket is so pretty. The yellow sheets with it make it. When you get a chance to replace the bed I'd recommend a higher bed so you can store stuff under it. Maybe one that built in drawers or the kind were you can lift up the mattress?
The trick to zippers on pillowcases is to sew them in first: make the zipper side the first place the two squares connect - you’re just sewing each flat piece right side up to one side of the zipper in turn. Then flip the right sides of the squares to face together and sew the other three sides shut. (Just leave a few inches of the zipper open beforehand so you can open it up and turn the pillowcase cover inside out at the end). It’s a good idea to have a zipper versus sewn shut in case you need to quickly and easily wash just the cover.

If you are looking for ideas for the bed until you find a bed frame that you like, you could always hang a quilt over the headboard to go with your “granny chic” vibes. Also, Home Sense is pretty much just Home Goods in the US, if you are ever looking for a comparison again.

What if you take that cute little vintage red table to a glass shop and have some shelves cut to add below the top for more storage? Put some rubber tips on them to hold in place. They could cut a crescent shape for you to add more visual interest. OR, get lots of hooks, spray paint a contrast color and hang some plants from it. Patio decor!

If you could find some kitchen cabinets on marketplace you could use those as a base for a lofted bed. They are pretty sturdy! And when people do a reno you could take the outdated style and paint them retro or something
