Every time I pick the darkstar all I keep thinking even if I lose I’m flying the sr72 it’s a sick plane the gauge won’t even show mph it shows Mach speed haha

found a small model of the Dark Star aircraft several months back, in a Price Cutters store. made by Matchbox Sky Busters, it looks almost exactly the same as the one shown in this video, except it has a grey pattern that starts from the back of the cockpit, and ends past the fins at the back of it.
it even says "Top Gun: Maverick" on the box itself, it's a cool looking plane.
The Darkstar in AC7 has has a alternate paint scheme based off the matchbox toy.

I think the new meta will be the F-18E TGM. It's got HCAA, one of the best weapons in the game, on a full-PSM plane that has better stats than the Su-35S. It also has HVAA in case you want to go bvr as icing on the cake. It is a superplane in disguise.

I'm not sure if you noticed ACF, but the design for the Dark Star actually seems to bear a slight resemblance to an updated version of Testors' "F-19" model kit, a design they created themselves based on rumors of the F-19 fighter project (which wound up being nothing, but the F-117 that came later was of a similar suspected role).
I think you'd find a far closer resemblance to the concept art of the SR-72 from Lockheed. In fact Lockheed's skunk works team helped design the Darkstar.

@@majorborngusfluunduch8694 I believe that this was based off of the SRR-71 black bird. (been a moment since I've studied up) but with radar cancelling technology a very few select aircraft should have been able to lock on to this particular craft. Also with energy weapons I'd also imagine this particular craft would be point and shoot literally. the pilot might be lacking, honestly I think the FA-22 raptor could take this thing easy. pretty sure I saw a Tom Cat take it down once, unless that might have been a SU-37-E flanker or a Fighting Falcon dropping in on it. either way pilot error? Any ways, I don't know crap and honestly this air craft seems like an interceptor; good for "greeting" the enemy half way out or better.
@@DemonOfTheSkies It takes some of its aesthetic from the Blackbirds but the shape of the aircraft is unmistakably that of the SR-72. The differences are the twin vertical stabilizer configuration and the design of the rear of the plane.
This planes skin 03 is the ZOE red skin.

@@jmdesertadventures803 XFA, CFA and the X02 are all foreign also I include the ASF as being Osean X Planes since the enemies never use them (I know X02 is Erusean but Osea has at least 1 in Lore)
@@rubenlopez3364 it's a joke, and grunder is behind those aircraft to some degree I suspect. Considering they like to disseminate advanced tech to start wars.
Given how insanely fast it can fly, and how awful the cockpit view is, it doesn't seem unreasonable to assume it was meant to be unmanned. Seems like a good fit for ZOE as an alternative to a nimble dogfighter.

@@AceCombatFan Looks like the thing giving you the most trouble was HVAAs, which makes sense as their probably the only missile that can reliably catch it.

@@aceofaces1506 4AAMs hit him at a much lower speed of around 3000, only other missile I saw hit him at high speed was HCAAs and that was while he was turning against other missiles.

HYPERSONIC TIME!!
There is a story I wish to tell. There was a diecast around the 80's of a jet that I knew nothing about. Looked like a stealth fighter from this day and age. Black, the vertical stabilizers were angled closer to one another. Similar to this, but rounded in the back, and worked it's way forward to a point. I knew nothing of it at the time. I assumed it was a fighter jet that was planned to be made, but nothing came of it. If anyone knows, please tell me about it.
F-19? There were some unofficial models made from various reports of a black project fighter jet that the USAF was working on at the time. The actual project likely was a F-117 Nighthawk, which looks nothing like the model

You're pretty cool in my book for putting a spoiler warning on the thumbnail, wish more people were that considerate of others. Just wish we had gotten an ASTOL-MB93 when they did that Godzilla cross promotion with Ace Combat: Infinity, they could have reskinned the lasers to look like masers. This is the first time they included aircraft from other franchises in their cross promotions, hopefully it won't be their last and if they ever do another Godzilla cross promotions hopefully they'll include aircraft from that.
The darkstar is fast but if you are able to launch a special missile at it it’s normally gonna hit (this is what I’ve found in my experiences)
Unrelated to the video but have you tried playing Sky Rogue? It’s an air combat based roguelike and has some pretty clear Ace Combat inspiration.
I don't play pvp is that the real sound of the results at the battle cause that's from top gun and I love that movie haven't seen new one yet though

One question @Ace Combat Fan. Do the MG upgrade parts affect the integrated PLSL like the Raven and Darkstar? Or to upgrade it you have to equip PLSL-TSL upgrade parts like occurs with PLSL pods?
I was originally curious about how this thing would hold up against Hugin and Munin, until it dawned on me that it’s probably a bad idea, given it’s immense speed. You’d probably go cooking right past Hugin or Munin. Sure, it’s got speed by the truckload over the two drones, but those drones are far more agile and maneuverable. Build up speed and you’d probably just go flying by them, then have to turn around and repeat constantly.
So, is that the last DLC for Ace Combat 7 ? I'm still hoping for my XFA-33 Fenrir in the game.

It's not actually a fighter in the film but is a fictional hypersonic aircraft based on (to the point it was designed in conjunction with Skunk Works engineers) the non-classified concept art and performance expectations of the SR-72

The Lockheed skunk works team helped design this plane, so its a given that it looks like their actual Hypersonic Concept plane.

I think it's because it's a 6th generation fighter. I remember reading that one of the requirements for the 6th generation was hyper sonic speed or mach 5/6. While the aircraft in game isn't going that fast, it could be a hint that 6th gen will be much faster then current gen fighters.

Is the DLC worth the money? I´m curious about all the DLCs post Season Pass, but I´m kinda tired that we don´t have another missions beside the vanilla campaign and the DLC missions. And for multiplayer I´m not interested neither.

@@Terminator000001 well if it's not your taste, don't get. Most of the fans or even non-ac players is getting this dlc. Besides, PA already confirmed on Twitter this is the last Plane DLC. They will now only do free updates, so a little tweaks here and there.
@@SniperSensai97 I was saying that I am actually interested into the DLC planes. It's just that I would like more missions to play and not the very same over and over again. The game and the campaign is awesome ofcourse. I just wish there would be more.

Funny you should said that, since the pack also includes a new skin for the SU-57, but on Steam at least, they only refer to it as "5th Generation Fighter" and refuse to call it by name. I guess they are trying hard to downplay anything Russian right now
@@weldonwin I think it's just cause it's used by the generic enemy country in the movie, although idk why they wouldn't just make it a skin for the existing Su-57 because unlike all of the other craft in the DLC this one seems to be the exact same to something we already have

Read your edit, anyways no currently not a real craft but was designed by Lockheed Skunk works team for Top Gun 2, they also created a 1:1 prop for the movie set. Its specifically designed so its an aerodynamic fast craft like their concept SR-72
