It's so satisying to do your own framing. I buy old frames and photo frames and adapt my stitching to fit the frame or wait until the right frame comes along. I leave the gold and paint the wooden ones black - gives a nice uniformity to my sampler wall. Love your work - so prolific.

Great WIP parade Kim - we have a lot of overlap with our projects and I just love seeing your fabric and floss choices - and of course which pattern elements you cut out or rearrange 😉😉 I like the idea of plans that keep me inspired to stitch all year long but don't like being told what to do, so as soon as I want to deviate from said plan then its out the window!
It’s fun stitching the same projects with stitching friends! Yes, planning to be flexible, that’s also a plan! 😂

Love your stitching. You have plans! You plan to stitch all the pretties. I have joined a few things as an excuse to set aside time to stitch. No guilt. But I have switched from WIPGO where you have no idea when they will come up, to things that include the things that I want to work on now. It helps me focus because, like you, I have a bunch of wonderful things to choose from. So it narrows my focus. I need direction without being totally random.

Great video Kim! I think my favourite is the Ye Olde Noel sampler, so lovely! But there are so many beauties, hard to pick a favourite really! I did see that new Reflet de Soie piece, it’s stunning!

Oh wow!! I was so jealous when I found out you were going to be at the Attic!! Now I am green with envy since you also got to go to Tanya’s home and see all the gorgeous samplers! The only thing I can think of that would be comparable would be to see all your samplers in person!!! I have a suggestion if you ever feel the need to change your flosstube name again…Are you going to stitch the whole thing needleworker? Lol I love watching your videos as I stitch along!! Loved seeing all your beautiful WIP's today and hearing about your fun shopping trip to The Attic! Wow! Sounds like you had loads of fun and friendship there. So happy for you that you were able to go. I pray that you are not getting the torrential rains in your area and are safe and dry. Do you have any retreat plans for this year? I have signed up for Quilter's Station and Amana Fall Retreat and would love to see you there. Thank you for the scripture verses that we should all keep in our hearts and for using your love of stitching to spread God's word. I don't know if you have watched my Flosstube lately since I stitch a lot of things along with samplers but I had to have surgery on the vertebrae in my neck because I was losing feeling in my hands. God has blessed me and I can stitch and play piano again, that's important since I am a piano teacher also. And no pain or tingling or burning! It is such a blessing. I enjoyed meeting you at Summer School last year and hope to see you again soon. Dottie from SC

I just love all the Reflets de soie, but I can't tell whether any of them would work on Aida!
It’s just stitching over one on Aida (and perhaps a few specialty stitches) that is a challenge. If it is just simple X’s, that works on Aida!

👍"Weathered Vine" is a tiny bit darker & more green than Attic Tea, yet very close. I was on teamwips, it was fun, I got to #11. I recently got a 40-CT Bee's knees (from Just Stitching, Shelly is an awesome shop owner), no idea what I will put on it yet. Nice Work, very pretty WIPS!!! Yes, that does look like Seraphim Chai. Hi Dee! #nye12x12 was so much fun! Ugh, I still have to check those letters, but I’m resting from gathering all my stitching together this morning 😂. Plan, nope, no plan! Just stitching! Sometimes I do try to see what’s close to a finish and give it more attention! I love Shelly, and I sure wish I could come visit her shop!

Three times I was able to shop in person @ Just Stitching, and have mail ordered from Shelly for many, many years. I like to spread my shopping dollars mainly between 2 shops. Can you tell me your fabric size and count for Louisa Barny? I guess I need confirmation for 36 or 40 ct. I’m so scared to start her on the wrong size fabric.
It’s 36, but let me get to the other border before I give you the final measurements! I would have done 40 if I’d had a big enough piece or were more patient to wait for one, and 46 would be an even nicer size. She’s quite large!
I debated 36 or 40, and if I remember correctly, 36 was barely going to fit on a fat quarter or not fit at all. Either way I was going to buy a fat half for myself. I went with 40 count because of the available fabric color that I chose. Barbara
ps The Fat Quarter Shop has a calculator on their website. you can plug in your measurements and it tells you how much fabric you need.

I just chose the charts from the series I liked and put them in this shorter configuration. I show them as a recent finish on my Flosstube
I am available to be a stitching companion from monday-sunday 8am to 5pm. my fee is $0. I am also a very good conversationalist if required or we can observe the vow of silence. I am very flexible.
