    Happy I was looking to watch someone new. Love all your past finishes. I love peacocks and I have that pattern for years. After seeing how beautiful yours is I am going to put it on my 2024 list . I will catch up with your past five videos.

    I love the herons! They definitely need to visit the framer when you have time. I also really enjoyed seeing your needlepoint finishes. So many cross stitchers share their quilting, knitting, crocheting, and even diamond painting, but I think this is the first time I've seen needlepoint and I really appreciated it.

      Thanks for watching! I will share a bit of crochet and knitting too from time to time. My cross stitch and needlepoint bug is strong right now though.

    I just found your channel and I love it. You are quite an accomplished needleworker. I love everything you have shown, especially the Blue Herons and Butterfly Forest. Both have been on my wish list. I will be looking forward to your next episode. Take care and happy stitching.

    What a fun video. My mother gave my sister and I a lot of needlepoint kits when we were young…a few of the stitches were effective enough to frame. I agree…if you are going to hand us an awesome craft project as a gift, it needs to include three hours uninterrupted to start it. I am also a fairly new flosstuber….i hope you have as much fun as I do.

    • @stitchinliz

    Your husband is a great shopper! I've been admiring "the blue herons" for years, but just haven't bitten the bullet to purchase it. Now that I've seen completed - I am tempted to add it to my collection and stitch one day when I am retired, and/or have completed the 17 WIPs (the majority are full coverage) I have on the go.

    • @stitchinliz

    Phenomenal stitching ❣️❣️ As I live in northwestern Minnesota I have many Great Blue Heron’s sit on my dock & spend much time fishing etc. they are one of my favorites so your piece made my heart go racing…was just stunning ♥️. Was wondering if you have thought about different ways to display your works of art before they are framed so to enjoy? Thanks for sharing beautiful artwork! Happy stitching to you..

    You have some beautiful finishes there! It's interesting to me seeing older patterns sometimes as i haven't been stitching for too long/fell off of it for years after doing it a lot in my childhood. I need to look at what needlepoint is and how it works, i hear about it sometimes and I'm getting curious :D

    • @stitchinliz
      @stitchinliz  8 місяців тому +1

      Needlepoint at its most basic is just half cross stitches! Jump on in, it's fun.

      @sensneedleworks 8 місяців тому

      @@stitchinliz aaah the one where you basically stitch with the thicker yarn? I think i did that as a child, i remember it was being fun. might try it again eventually :)

      I've done it with all different kinds of threads, but yes, it can be thicker. @@sensneedleworks

    I have to agree with you about the Dimensions kits. I've done two, and ran out of several colors in both. The designs are so nice! But if I do another one, I will kit it up with DMC. I have considered doing the Amid Amish Life panels, too, so I enjoyed seeing how yous turned out. Do you think that needlepoint canvases could be finished in crossstitch?

    • @stitchinliz
      @stitchinliz  8 місяців тому +1

      Absolutely yes! You can do a canvas with any stitch you like. The main thing is making sure you use a type of thread or number of strands that covers as well as you like.

  • @teresaboyer284

    Wow! You have some gorgeous pieces, Liz! And I loved seeing your needlepoints! I also love needlepoint but haven’t done it in a long time. Will definitely have to correct that. Your stitched peacock at the end was magnificent! If you get nothing else framed, you need to get that one done. I DO have a question for you! None of your Needlepoint looked warped, which led me to believe that you use a frame of some sort. Could you please share about that? Did you block them yourself?
    I am so glad to find a fellow Needlepointer fan that I need to know all the things! Will be following to see all your updates!

    • @stitchinliz
      @stitchinliz  8 місяців тому

      Thank you! It depends on the piece and what I have available for frames. Sometimes I use stretcher bars and pin the piece to it, sometimes I just use my Q-snaps or other roll frames. I think your tension as you stitch is really the most important. I never block, I'm so bad! :)

    • @teresaboyer284
      @teresaboyer284 8 місяців тому

      I have also been known to put a needlepoint piece in a Q snap! Whatever works, right? Yours are so evenly tensioned they all look like they’ve been blocked! Great job! Do you have more than one on the go at a time? Your husband is amazing at picking out kits!!!
