The brightness of beacon mode needs to be selected before entering the "flashing mode". In other words, it will function at the brightness level used the last time you turned off the flashlight. You can also set the time between flashes by clicking 4 times while in beacon mode to enter its "configuration mode" and while the light is flickering, click the number of seconds you want between flashes. 1 click = 1 second, 4 clicks = 4 seconds, and so on. What's the big deal with PD charging? You can't tell me you threw away all your charges and cables that aren't PD compatible. And I highly doubt it's the only device in you own that isn't PD compatible.
Thanks for that mate I'll pin your comment to the top. You are right I still have Type-A to c cables etc but I'd rather carry one cable and be done with it. I would always prefer a light that gives me the option. Cheers for the help. 👍😁
Great review . I have ordered the 4K in black, it’ll be a stable mate to my emissar d4sv2 dual channel or my dm1.12. I will not have to bother taking multi battery types around as I’ll use it with 21700 when paired with the dm1.12 or 26650 when paired with the d4sv2.
I ordered a silver one as the king of my collection and planned to stop there. However I've kept collecting but I try to rotate through all the different torches. And we've got a plethora of 519As becoming available at Convoy soon ... One weird effect I noticed is that my FW3A had the same brightness as the MF01 mini (both SST20 4000k) on seven out if ten stepped levels (I set mine up the same with ten steps). Only on the last three steps does the MF01 mini pull well ahead. I didn't try to discover the amperages involved but they may be the same. A 2700k version would be perfect for me but I agree with Flashaholic's take that it "has it all" in terms of throw, CRI, lumens etc..
Interesting I should have maybe switched to stepped ramping then done a draw test that would be interesting for people. I have my mf01 in front of me here, I put my EA01 away in the box and this is by new light I have next to the keyboard. I truly love how the light makes the world look with that CRI rating. I had a strange thing this morning. I checked the cell voltage though UI and it said 3.9 so I plugged it in to charge like normal then when it was finished it still said 3.9. I never had this issue in my weeks of using it I might need to see if it's just a crappy cell I have or not.
@@TrailTrek that’s weird. What does the pb2s think the battery voltage is? Did your unit come with a diffuser? The picture on the Banggood page show one.
Yeah I think off the top of my head it was early 2020 maybe or very late 2019 so its not a 2022 release. Still impressed with it mind i have to say. You have a lucky friend, i always get socks for my birthday! :-)
I'm wanting one to use a quick and easy key light in video and photography work. Anything with a high CRI is key. Any other budget options of a light like this in your opinion?@@TrailTrek

Cell compatibility is a great point for the light. All my flat tops etc worked like a charm for me.

I like programming steps and then benchmarking the run times. My sp36 has 15 steps and then my hanks have 12 I think. I also set the floor to 1.

@@TrailTrek haven't had any issues with charging so far, it terminates at 4.2V. I have a "PLB" brand cell which is considered to be good quality.

I'm out washing the car here bit I'll have a look tonight. I didn't get any diffuser with mine in the box.
Has this been out for a while I think I had one and gave it to a friend for his birthday

Uh I can't find it. It says the has been discontinued
Yet this is a well loved light that has beautiful high CRI in a nice small form factor. I have no idea why they would stop selling it.

who wants to sell theirs? i'll pay good money
Still have mine in front of me, have they stopped doing them?
Bangood says they've discontinued... wtf@@TrailTrek
