I've had my FT03 modded by having the led swapped for led with a flat dome, it now has 528 kcd at startup on turbo, using a Keeppower 26650.

Finally another thrower that runs on 26650.. 😍 26650 tube is perfect for thrower flashlights in my opinion because most (if not all) thrower flashlights have wide head diameters and 21700 tubes are just unnecessary because if you prefer 21700 tubes for their pocketable size, the head diameter is just too wide so the flashlight is still not pocketable no matter how small manufacturers make their tubes. For grip comfort, 26650 tubes are the best too (not too small). Not to mention it's bigger capacity compared to 21700s. I dont really need a high output 21700s since turbos dont last that long anyway. The only downside of 26650s for me would be their weight but their still manageable.
26650 is becoming outdated battery tech, though. If you like the diameter, it's better to spring for 26800. But it's nice that most 26650 torches can use both 21700 and 18650 with spacers, in case you need to resort to a spare cell.
Thanks. This looks nice, but the original FT03 accepts either 26650 or 21700 and includes an adapter, so the fact that 21700's don't fit in the Pro is rather silly on Mateminco's part (they sell under Astrolux at BG). The Pro is a shorter light, but that hardly seems worth the trade when 21700s will be much easier to obtain a decade from now and provide higher performance.
FT03's were pre-ordered at less than $25 and codes remained available for that price until just a few years ago, but "budget" lights with those capabilities now cost 2-3X that. This Pro is hopefully higher quality with a properly centered emitter (skill and luck required to center an FT03), but it's sad how much prices have increased for supposedly "budget" lights.
I bought a thrower for my brother recently and chose a budget Convoy M21E that was less than forty bucks with a battery and holster. It's a smaller carry and closely matches my FT03 SST40 in beam (side-by-side eyeballs, not measurements), though with less edge spill for walking (I always have a headlamp anyway).
The original FT03 had terrible heat conduction between the emitter and host as initial quality was poor, but this is obviously a new design and over 2 minutes of turbo is acceptable for such output.
May I suggest some kind of basic review of every type of battery that you own? I would like to hear from you. Brands, sizes, output vs capacity and so on... ❤️

Out of curiosity, is a 21700 a "better" battery than the 26650? I was thinking the 26650 as newer than 21700, but then I'm not well versed in modern lithium cells.
@DRayL_ 21700 is far far better. More compact, similar mAh, higher output, easier to find and cheaper

@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Indeed, and 21700 is still under active development, there are 6Ah legit batteries. The 26650 was a "transitional" battery between the 18650 and the 21700 era.

The FT03 Pro and the Wurkkos have a very similar beam colour, which i like. But as the FT03 Pro has more output, I would prefere it. 🤟

According to the graph, does the flashlight drop to approximately 460 lumens after it starts getting hot in turbo mode? I'm not an expert, so could someone explain this? I would really appreciate it.

500k candela is freaking insane. do you have any more information on the led? is it the same one that's in the nitecore mh12 pro? if i remember correctly the l21b hits 360k candela with the sft-40
