When Boone hit the home run my dad was so pissed he woke my mom up, and she was more mad at the fact he let me stay up and watch it, but it was one of my first memories and I wouldn't want it any other way

I scared the crap out of them and woke them up to the Yankees winning. Memories like that are beyond valuable. Growing up a Yankee fan in the 90s was a gift. When Bernie Williams became a free agent and turned down a more lucrative offer to stay with the Yankees, that told me that that team was a class group of guys.

He's at least slightly better in baseball than football. I think part of the reason he has such a monotonous, reserved delivery is because he grew up listening to his dad announce baseball. Baseball is generally a more chill game to announce with less yelling and shouting and superlatives. Plus, back when his dad announced, all announcers were just super tame compared to now. Remember Pat Sumerall back in the '90s? It was like listening to your grandpa tell stories about his garden.
