I'm sorry to hear about your lousy day. But thank you very much for sharing that with us. It is all too easy to assume that all your trips are perfect if you don't share these not perfect days. Also I am very interested in hearing what your experience using the iPad is! I have used both an iPad and a MacBook Pro on trips and I'm still not sure which is best. I will look forward to hearing your thoughts on the subject. I LOVE these photos! Especially the square B&W. That last waterfall shot is stunning! I'd love to see a tutorial from you on how you processed it.
Sorry about that terrible day...I know the feeling. And it takes me about a year to really know my camera's strengths and weaknesses to where I feel very comfortable with it in most situations.
Agree absolutely with the tip to check your camera settings once in a while, I did a whole day along the Cornwall coast last year with beautiful weather at ISO 3200. The photographs in the last half of the video are amazing, your style is just so on point especially the bridge shots. You definately have the eye for different compositions. I just love the presentation of this channel, its something I aspire too!
A great post Adrian and good to see you back in Portland. COVID meant I had to postpone my trip there this year but I am hoping to go sometime. You continue to inspire me. Thanks.
Awesome video and shots, so pleased to see you still use your a6000. This is my back up camera also for stills , it the most incredible camera still today
The favourite lens that I use with my A7RII is the SAMYANG 12mm 1:2 which forces me to regularly switch to the APSC mode. I wouldn’t had built that habit but for that wide-angle lens.
Wonderful images, as always. Just a note: my first DSLR was a Nikon D80, a 12 MP camera. I was able to make 20X30 inch prints from the RAW files. Looking forward to more of your videos and images.
Amazing images! Amazing you do all this on a small IPad with Lr CC! I still have Lr CC, although I mainly use C1, but I see Lr CC got exactly the same kind of split toning as Capture One with the last update, so that software is becoming really powerfull now. I remember my 550d was at 18 MP, but I was just a snap-shooter then, shooting in jpeg. But Lr CC can still do wonders with these old jpeg's, that's one of the main reasons why I still keep it, together with automatic keystoning, as I'm horrible at manual keystoning. But you must get a good insurance deal for your equipment, and I honestly think you should go for an a7rIV now, as you do heavy cropping. For me I hardly not crop anything, so the a7III is perfect for me. I too think I've decided for my travel trio, when travel becomes an option again: - 24 mm GM f1.4 -Tamron 28-200 mm f2.8-5.6 - Samyang 75 mm f1.8 In addition my girls will bring the Fujifilm X-T200 with a 27 mm f2.8 pancake lens on travels with the family.
i want to hear your input/take/ideas around shooting the same subject/location twice? - Not back to back but more revisiting a place you have already had success at. I've watched you revisit a few locations now and I want to hear about your mindset coming back to a place and not trying to repeat yourself but rather find new ideas in that space or subject.
By the way, I ordered an X-T200 to my girls for Xmas, and I hope they become just as good and enthusiastic about photography as your partner. It should be so much easier everything if my whole family got into photography enthusiastically.
I store my landscape settings on M1 and my family settings on M2, so that when I go out to shoot landscapes I use to reset my settings to M1, and this includes Super35, if I have changed this and forgotten to set it back from last shoot. Maybe you can make an insurance deal with Apple? I use Dell laptop and they have world-wide insurance, to help in situations like this. I might go to Portland myself when I get better in landscape photography, although all USA's best landscape shooters seem to flock there.
My God man, you are just NAILING it!!!

Sorry to hear about your misfortunes. Your images of foggy St. Johns Bridge and Mt. Hood with the lenticular are amazing.

Some superb images mate!
the pano of the moon and mountain was just great, well done on all. These looked like full resolution.
I'm sorry to hear about the bad days but the images, especially the last one, were great.

Excellent
I sympathize with you, but your photos and video are great - be encouraged.

Welcome back!!

Does that Sony have good stabilization?

Congratulations - You're Human. Everyone here has had at least a dozen such incidents no matter how long you have been shooting.
