#2 Donnelly is my grandfather, I love finding these videos to see how much I play like him. My family is still close with the Quinn's as well!

Classic. Lots of legends. Julie Vee was one of my favorite soccer players as a kid.

Love the post. I am going to start posting games soon. I really don't know how the Cosmos were able to sustain a team for the last few years of their existence with that bleak attendance. My two favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Spirit and the NY Cosmos and neither could compete with San Diego. Thank God the Cosmos are back!

Thanks for all the indoor action. Grew up watching the Phoenix Inferno until the owner passed in a car accident. Really didn't follow the Pride. Been playing soccer since I was 9 years old.

The KUSI 51 logo has some similarity to that of KIII 3 Corpus Christi, TX. Both stations had the same owner, Mike McKinnon.

This kind of soccer is very strange. This wall, besides being bizarre, is really dangerous

I was happy when the Blast beat St. Louis in 1984 for the MISL title, but I felt we didn't the best team in the game because the Sockers were playing in the NASL Indoors that year.

I never understood why the Sockers went back to the NASL after their MISL title in 1983. I figure it must have been a commitment made to the league.

I agree, the teams that played an outdoor schedule in the NASL had to play in the indoor league and the Sockers did both that year. In 1985, the NASL folded their winter indoor league and allowed the teams that did both to go play in the MISL.

In 1989, the Sockers met the Blast for the fourth time in the finals. They finished the regular season with a losing record of 25-27. After that season, I knew that the MISL was doomed to fold. It was just a matter of time. When the Sockers have a losing record and the rest of the league still couldn't beat them, I knew the talent level was diluted. It's too bad. The original MISL had so much to offer.

eddiebear60 After that, the owners of the Sockers and the Sidekicks formed the Continental Indoor Soccer League that played in the summer month, Caps and Bullets owner Abe Pollin owned the Washington Warthogs which got their name from their sponsor Britches Great Outdoors who had a line of clothing called Warthog.
Baltimore got an expansion team in the rival NPSL called the Spirit as in "rekindling the Spirit of indoor soccer in Baltimore" They couldn't use the name Blast because former owner Ed Hale trademarked it. When he bought the team 5 years later they became the Blast again. They bounced from the NPSL, to second MISL, the NISL which became the 3rd MISL. They merged with the PASL to become the MASL which has too many teams and in the east division they still use multipoint scoring which the rest of the league has single point which I wish everyone would adopt.

miss this kind of soccer it was fast and off the boards small nets and lots of scoring but attendance sucked guess that's why I watched it on tv so it folded no money

most of these players in indoor don't know how to dribble the ball properly. Keeping the ball much to far from themselves.
