I wasn't expecting the Ice Spear Ash of War in phase 1 or Ekzyke's Decay before running the skull marathon in phase 2. Those were both _super_ clever moves, but especially in the timing, like using the wind-up before the spear to be able to deal extra damage when the snake head is outside the lava, and ensuring Rot will keep ticking damage while you're just having to run around When it comes to mixing Incantations & Sorceries, nothing deals with big, slow threats at range quite like the combination of Black Blade & Ranni's Dark Moon. I love seeing what you add to tactics like that to avoid feeling too repetitive whilst also avoiding the intended gimmick weapon. Also, I've gotta give appreciation for keeping the cutscene in for extra thematic goodness.
The fact that you had to run to avoid getting damaged is in itself feels kinda spine chilling since you destroy them so easily. Regardless, another epic victory.

Nice to see the ice spear :D really underappreciated ash of war imo. used it on my first playthrough and had to stop myself from overusing it because it made the game too easy. Does good damage, nice range, builds up frostbite quickly AND does good stagger damage. I also wanted to beat this boss using it (without using the serpent-hunter) on my first playthrough until after ~5-10 attempts I found out he had a second phase and pulled out the serpent-hunter anyway
its because the spell casts several high damage lightningstrikes in a row and rykard has a very large diameter so he gets hit by probably 3-5 of those strikes each dealing 2000k damage. thats why this stuff melts the guy
