I am so glad they are finally cracking down on people laying a damn towel on the chair and not coming back for 7 hours i usually get in the hot tub and I’m in there for two hours and I seen nothing but towels on chairs, and nobody sitting in them at all. I am so glad and happy that they finally cracking down on that nonsense.
I've been returning the towels for cards whenever we need seats.......I will wait 90 minutes then I just don't care its nice to have extra towels with 2 small boys
I saw that many times and just walked on by. Then one day i decided that it wasn't right; some of the the people who had put their towels on the chairs were just going to have to see it and believe it that i wanted my turn on a chair to get a tan too so i removed their towel, put my own down and i laid there getting some sunshine. They never came back anyway!
@Clarence_Leo-jr6dg u make no sense CLARENCE🥴 they aren't reserving a spot with a floatation device in the hot tub while dining with the intention of returning. If the person hogging with a towel sat there for hours then so be it! They're using the seat! Think before saying silly stuff.
I did a 10 day Mexico out of Los Angeles, NCL. 5 East Coast Families with a grand total of 9 kids between 15-18 were absolute terrors. Days at sea to Cabo, they were stealing drinks form people at the pool. They would go to the buffet and pile up but eat nothing! I had enough finally and got security involved. They gave me a radio and then we had fun. Naturally the parents said NOT MY KID..We had video to prove otherwise. One family was disembarked in Puerto Vallarta. Their Son was the ring leader.
I'm glad they are cracking down on all these things! Scooters, chair hogs, un supervised kids, ammo. People need to be held responsible for their lack of common sence, security, and care for others.
@wyntresorrow403 so uh that's an American rule....how would that apply to cruise ships Licensed under other countries? The don't abide by us labor laws either. No difference... it doesn't apply.
I was on P&O's Arcadia Christmas cruise when a man turned up on our 1st black tie night in a track suit at the restaurant and when refused entry he threatened a member odf staff by pinning them up against a wall. He was chucked off at our 1st port of call in Vigo Spain.
My family and I are glad to hear Cruise lines are finally cracking down on wild teens running around. A few years ago we sailed out of San Juan on Royals Adventure of the Seas there were teens running through the halls banging on cabin doors. I went down to guest services to report this and staff told me there were reports coming from all over the ship like the Windjammer and by the pools as well. Later that evening at dinner in the main dining room the Captain spoke over the mic addressing everyone from San Juan he only spoke in Spanish where the group of teens came from. The Captain was angry you could tell by tone in his voice. But there were so many other teens enjoying themselves with their families no trouble at all. The Captain said if there are any more problems families will be put off at the next stop and get back home on their own.
This is why cruise lines are not discriminating! SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - A pregnant woman was airlifted from a Disney cruise by the U.S. Coast Guard this week after experiencing medical complications on board.Apr 18, 2024. They can’t help you!!!
Neither can they help with seizures, heart conditions, cancer., alcohol intoxication, ..but how many people do they Prevent from cruising who might be our are affected by those conditions?
The Doctors on the ship can help or do their best for someone having a heart attack or seizure. If they die then they can store them in the morgue till the next port. The ships do not have a NICU, Neonatal Nurse or neonatologist on board which greatly increases the chances of death for the new or unborn child and mother. The ships do not want to take on this responsibility. As far as being drunk on board they’ll kick you off at any port.
@@Carrusing4us I doubt anyone cruising wants to spend their cruise in a morgue! I was curious so I looked on line. The chance of a baby 28 weeks being born prematurely is 1%. And of the 1%- 80-90% who are born prematurely are fine. I have to say i've not heard of anyone having to be airlifted off due to a premature birth before the recent incident. However i have heard of several people having seizures from alcohol and/or high salt content on board cruises, and/or heart attacks some of whom have died. I think Cruise Companies should be consistent in what they do, based on statistics, rather than penalizing women. At the very least they should inform people prior to purchase of a cruise, and or should suggest medical insurance that covers medivac if possibly applicable.
I love cruises. I’ve been cruising over 15 years. I feel like cruises are more popular now than they were 5 years ago. They’ve become a playground for unsupervised kids. “Kids sail free” 👎. I don’t mind kids. I can’t stand disrespectful unruly kids & the parents that allow it.
A... We were boarding a RCL ship in Tampa with a good sized crowd of 8-10 cabins. When we checked in, we were told we'd have to go to desk 1 for an explanation. The we got to desk 1, we were told our cabin had a problem on the last trip, a broken water line flooding the cabin, and they weren't sure if it would be dry in time for us to have access. The Hotel Manager came off the ship, apologized several times, offered us wine and cookies. Meanwhile the rest of our gang all got onboard, we said we meetup with them in the Windjammer for lunch. We were then allowed to get onboard with Guest Services telling us to listen for a page. We found our group and were having lunch when we were paged. The cabin, an interior like the rest of the group would not be dry enough so were given a balcony ... Very nice... Most of the group hadn't been cruising before so tours of the cabin were the first tours we did for this cruise... Great cruise...
A! My wife is from England and is a lawful permanent resident, but is not a citizen. Before we went on our cruise she called Royal Caribbean to ask if she needed anything besides her green card, drivers liscense and passport to get on the ship and they said no. When we were boarding suddenly they wanted our marriage certificate which was obviously at home half way across the country. They claimed we should have known to have it, so when she brought up that she actually called and asked what we needed the woman at the check in got a bit of an attitude, so I asked "Why would it even matter if we are married, what if we were just dating, would you discriminate against us based on marriage status and not let us board?" And suddenly her entire attitude left and she told us we were fine to board and to have a good trip.
Great update. I just got off the Jubilee we were on the Lido deck when this lady pointed out to security that the towels in the chairs had been there for hours and she want to sit there. Security removed the towels and she was able to sit there. Great job security. 😊
I’m glad that the cruise lines are enforcing their rules. For those of us who have sailed for the last 37 years it appears that first time cruisers believe that rules don’t apply to them. So many of these rules should be common sense. Instead the word vacation is thought of as a license to let loose and let your inhibitions run amok. It’s okay to relax and turn off the 9-to-5 careers but be aware that others might find that their high energy and raucous behaviors to be unacceptable.
I don't necessarily agree that it's first time cruisers who act up. I believe it's lack of parental guidance when it comes to teens and kids, and some people just don't think rules apply to them
I will believe that chair hog are being delt with when I see it! This was supposed to be happening last year. The staff is too timid to deal with these folks who will invariably deny being gone too long.
They are afraid of the Karen's that think they have the right to save chairs. Everyone is Sue happy or they are being discriminated against for some unknown reason
I understand the chair hog rule and I have no wish to “lay out” by the pool. However, I think it would be good if ships had some “cubbies” available (big enough for flip flops, towel, cover up, phone, etc) for while you’re in the pool or hot tub.
Just finished a Carnival cruise in the Carribean. Teens were out of control. Blocking the stairways and not letting you through. Banging on doors, shouting, and throwing a ball up and down the corridors - on the Spa level! Multiple calls to Guest Services. Nothing done. Will never go on Carnival again.
@@SandcastleGirlJust got off a 9 night Liberty of the Seas to the Caribbean cruise and there were teenagers who acted in the same way. A large fight one night in-between stairwells/elevators. Also there was a fight outside the ship upon departure in Bayonne.
@@erichowell3386 Thats why I never go on cruises during school breaks or summer vacations. Unfortunately that is not possible for some, so sad how a few bad apples can ruin others holiday.

@deborahknopf4146 Agree with you. I did a 14 day cruise April 7-21,2024. Great cruise. 12 children that we rarely saw..😊 I never cruise during spring break, holidays, and summer(unless it's a long cruise or out of the country)... I let them have it in July and august.
B for the quiz. Scooter comment: Several years ago on Norwegian, there were two plus sized passengers who each had a extra wide scooter. No way would they fit through the cabin door. They took up almost half of the space in the hall. I remember thinking what a safety hazard they were, in case of emergency.
I have a small scooter and always try to book a handicapped cabin. However, over the years for various reasons I have stayed in a regular cabin. I am able to remove the seat of my scooter, tip it on its side and get it into a small cabin door all by myself. My scooter only weighs about 30 lbs without the seat. My scooter is always placed inside my cabin when I am not using it.....which is when I am in the cabin as well. I wonder how this will affect me over the years to come as I cruise often.....
Scooters parked in hallways are a huge liability hazard for many reasons, particularly as the hallways are not wide enough to accommodate two next to each other (ie trying to get past a parked scooter when you are on a scooter or in a wheelchair) . Regulations state they must be kept in your cabin.. if there are no accessible cabins left when you book, but sorry - you need to book a different cruise. It is up to the cruise line to enforce all safety regulations, even if it does mean inconveniencing a passenger.
A: because I had twice the amount of champagne allowed, but once I explained that I was on a b2b, they held half, and delivered it to my stateroom on the first day of the second cruise. Carnival guest services rocks!
A: Just once. We were cruising with four cabins of multi-generational passengers. I had been asking for adjoining cabins for several months. When we finally boarded we were all held up for ages. Turns out Carnival had upgraded our 4 balcony rooms to adjoining suites! It was awesome in the end 😊
We are diamond plus (270 days at sea) and casino signature with Royal carribean. Our last cruise a month ago was it! They’re absolutely insane with their rules and nonsese. Always trying to rip people off over petty amounts. We were supposed to have $200 freeplay that cruise as part of the booking. We had the flyer they mailed us stapled to the printout of us paying the taxes and tips (the cruise itself is free from casino). They wouldn’t budge on giving me the $200. I tipped almost $1500 to the casino employees. I okayed through well over $50,000. It’s not the $200, it’s the point. It’s honoring your word.
We have never had any trouble during embarkation-I double and triple-check all of our documents to be sure everything is in order, as well make certain that we have no prohibited items. Concerning scooters, some “drivers” are not careful in crowds; my husband was hit twice by one lady and actually gashed his ankle. The crew who had observed the “accident” wanted him to get checked out by the doctor (which we thought was a good idea), but it would cost US $185 (not the lady driving the scooter). By the way, she never apologized-not even after the second contact.
Unfortunately even the same brand and model can stop in different lengths. Couple that with poor distance judgement and passengers that sometimes cut in front of you, too closely and it’s an accident almost guaranteed. Yes, I even hit the same guy who was walking to the side of us as I was looking at architecture both times he stepped in front of my walker which he knew was there! Even had a teen, on land, cut in front of me not realizing the wheels stuck out. He pushed down on my walker to vault over the wheels. I was surprised he didn’t turn the walker over. This is not to defend many of the oblivious scooter drivers, but I do wish that people recognized they don’t have brakes and thus must coast to a stop even for the best of operators! My warning continues to be if it says rental, stay extra clear. But that unfortunately doesn’t solve the problem you describe.
@@genitagray6126 based on how people with licenses drive cars, are you sure that’s the right solution? Now if you want to test paying attention I’d think that might be a start.
As a full time power wheelchair user (not a scooter), these people who rent scooters for cruises without any experience drive me crazy. They give those of us who are permanently disabled and experienced drivers a bad name. Since my first cruise in 2014, there has been an explosion of scooter users and many use them merely as a convenience, they are frequently rude and now, even though in 10 years of full time use I’ve never ran into anyone, people jump out of my way or pull their kids several feet away from me. It makes me, who has no choice about using a wheelchair, feel like a pariah and it gives kids a bad impression of power wheelchair users. I’m seriously considering giving up cruising because of these inexperienced scooter renters.
This is why we sail Viking,Explora and other high end cruises, we got so tired of the crap that goes on and the cruise line don't care, we are staying away from that crowd of people.
A-did not have a release from my daughter in law to allow my 15yo grandson to cruise with us. Took 2 hrs to get ahold of his Mom and have her fill out the proper form and fax it to Norwegian Cruise Line. The boarding staff was awesome, they helped all they could and in the end it turned out fine. I’ll never forget that form again!
These are the requirements of the countries. The cruise line is just enforcing them. This happened to me once because I use my maiden name. I was travelling with my husband and 2 children. They made us call a lawyer to the airport (for a fee) to swear that we were married and my husband was illegally taking the children out of the country. Safety first.
@@annabanana0197 I is another good reason to always reread the rules, even if seasoned cruisers. We took our grandson last year. They never once asked for our signed document. But we had it just in case.
A - Princess ship sailing from Brisbane in February 2024. It was my 28th cruise on Princess. I followed the visa requirements EXACTLY as stated in the Princess paperwork. The Princess staff member who checked me in shuffled and shuffled my paperwork and eventually stated I did not have proper documents and could not board - dismissing me to leave since I could not board. I immediately requested a manager get involved. Upon review of my documents by the manager, I was allowed boarding because I had all the necessary documents and was given an apology for the error due to the staff member not being adequately trained. In my opinion - the staff member should have asked a manager if uncertain, not alarm a passenger, AND WHY WAS SHE ALLOWED TO CHECK PEOPLE IN IF SHE WAS NOT PROPERLY TRAINED! Fortunately my cruise in August does not require any visas so boarding should be stress free!!!! But, who knows.
They wanted some kind of permission letter from the non-custodial parent but we were a family of 32 and they let everyone else get on but one of the kids got the wrong person who wanted the permission letter we did end up getting on after speaking with the manager... but one of my daughters brought her infant on and the father had passed away there would have been no way to get a permission letter. They didn't give her any problems just my oldest daughter
Some people on scooters are mean, they will run you over and not care. Was on an elevator, and it was obviously full, scooter lady didn't care and forced herself onto the elevator, and put a huge bruise on my ankle.
And they give a bad impression of those of us who use power wheelchairs full time and know what they are doing. The number of people who rent scooters has exploded in the last ten years and it needs to be addressed. But I’m not sure how to do that.
@@jmert_5859 as regard to support animals, I only saw one and I talked to the owner and he told me about the TONS of paperwork and red tape he went through to get his dog on board. Besides Carnival and the US government needing paperwork filled out, EACH port of call needed paperwork done as well, even if he did not get off the ship!
It’s true, some people on scooters use them as battering rams! I don’t even use elevators on the ship, always stairs, but I have been run into when they come out of an elevator into a line outside a venue. Just ramming her way to the front of the line! I’m convinced it’s people who get them for convenience and don’t actually use them full time.
Remember when cruising was a niche travel option? Now that cruising has gone mainstream it’s been over-run with all the inherent problems caused by too many people. We still like to cruise but it’s not the same.
I agree. Anyone who cruised 30 years ago, and even 20 years ago, will tell you it is no longer the same and has taken a few steps down. To enjoy a cruise like it previously was, you must book on a more luxurious line and stay away from those that now cater to a family vacation such as NCL, Carnival, and Royal. There are now cruise lines that cater to child-free groups such as Virgin. My wife and I cruise to relax and feel pampered which includes proper attire, proper etiquette, and courtesy amongst everyone.
@@gregorypawlowski1835 ^^THIS^^ The "golden age" of cruising is over. COVID was the final nail. Am now looking seriously at premium lines like Oceania, Regent etc to get the classic cruise experience.
Just cruised the Carnival Valor in April. Pot was smelled up and down the hallways every night. Very disturbing. There was arguing in the hallway 3 of the 5 night cruise. The security was called 2 times, but no one came and security quit answering the phone. They fought in the hall from 2 to 5am.
You know, I hate to admit that I dont disagree with any of the crackdowns. I appreciate that they're finally mak8ng an issue of the scooters. While those with mobility issues have as much right to go on vacation as anyone else who can afford it, I think many of us have experienced hallways blocked by scooters parked outside of staterooms. Not only is that inconvenient, but also unsafe.
@@themaryfwatkins Sadly yes. But they have been cracking down on this for a while. My mom is coming with me on her first cruise in August and had to get an accessible inside cabin with enough space for the scooter to be in the room.

No scooters should be allowed in the hallways. During a rough cruise these could be in the way if someone misses a step. Also it's in the way for room steward's housekeeping carts. Accidents waiting to happen!
@@stevengolden9009omg can you imagine if something happened and they needed to get out in a hurry??? Traffic jams & jams with people trying to get to their scooter & then get on, that scooter cruise would be an accident waiting to happen.
Well...(slow clap) it is about time. Also honestly the only reason they needed to give for not having flags and other "decorations" is that you are sailing on the open sea and into other countries waters...those flags can have VERY different meanings on them. The ONLY person to have a flag on the ship is the cruiselines themselves.
I was on a Carnival boat 6 months ago & people were smoking weed in the regular smoking area on deck. The staff did not care, I watched them walk by the smokers 2 feet away & the crew did bug them or say a word. To expect more from the trailer park of the sea seems a bit much.
I cannot believe that Disney is stopping the ducks. It's so much fun looking for them and the crew (cast members) told us about them when we cruised with Disney.
The pregnant lady who got denied apparently can’t read. My wife cruised while pregnant. Followed the rules and completed the steps and it was a non-issue. It’s not discrimination… it’s for you and your baby’s safety. Not the brightest bulb.
6:40 - you don't "accidentally" leave ammunition in your bag. EVERY time I return from the range, I do a bag check ... but then again, my range bag is NOT a "travel" bag that I would bring on a ship or airplane. Too easy.

Yes I had a problem boarding a Carnival ship back 2017, 1-9mm round ammo was found in my bag. I sometimes use that sports bag to carry firearms to the shooting range and one bullet got away from me. Impressed that the xray guy picked up on it. I ended up in Carnival security office explaining how this happened and then had to hand write a letter of explanation ending with an apology. Signed several forms and a memo that explained at anytime during my trip I was subject to a search . But nothing more ever happened. Went on another Carnival cruise a year later and nothing special happened to me during check in. Advice clean your bags out before packing for a cruise checking for contraband!
@@retirementpirate3665 Yeah it seems that way except I was seldom ever going to the range cause I live on a old farm place in a very rural area and we just shoot from our backyard. Anyway you are correct, people should be very careful. There are people who travel via cars a lot and take their gun with them and it is most often kept in their shoulder bag.
Most of the rejections seem to be with Carnival, with a few others because of lack of documentation. I've learned a call on the phone is not the same as getting an email with that persons name and position in the company stating what you need and don't need.
On a lighter note regarding mobility scooters…it was Formal Evening and I was in a glorious full length gown, I entered the glass elevator that was heading to the atrium….a woman entered on a mobility scooter. When the lift stopped she drove out however she had caught my gown and took it out wrapped around her wheel..I ended up without the lower part of my gown. Not all scooter users are rude and inconsiderate. I know for my own comfort & safety I always prefer to wait until an elevator is empty or close to empty as possible. I also realize that people on scooters can be a nuisance but some of us really need that scooter & it’s not fair to say they can’t be allowed to be on a cruise.
I cruise regularly and am happy to say that most of the mobility scooter users are fine and I am lucky not to need the use of one. It was only this occasion that left me disrobed because of a scooter that I refer too. I like most cruisers would stand back and give preference to a scooter as their options are limited. I was already in the lift when this person entered the lift.
B; never have had any problems and I am a full time power wheelchair (not a scooter) user. I read the requirements and always let the cruise know what I use for mobility. There has been such an explosion of scooter renters in the last 10 years and they have given so many workers the impression that we can all just hop up and walk wherever we want, or that I’m going to run into someone or something that I’m considering not cruising anymore 😢. My husband and I had a room at the end of the hall on the forward of the ship and when we returned one evening our room reeked of the stuff that had come thru the vents. We called security , but by the time they arrived the smell had dissipated. They issued a warning to the next few cabins and we did not have an issue for the rest of the cruise. I wish they would crack down on people booking accessible rooms just so they can have some extra room to store their scooter, not because they need any of the other facilities in an accessible room. My husband is wheelchair dependent quadriplegic and can't cruise unless we have an accessible room. Unfortunately these rooms get booked up quickly and are difficult to get. I have seen people in an accessible room getting out of their scooter outside the door and then pushing the scooter into the room. If they can do that they don't need an accessible room.
@karenuber5500 The normal rooms are so tight a wheelchair can not be housed in it. The real problem is that there are not enough accessible rooms available and they are booked up over a year before a cruise embarks. I know that we can't always book that far in advance.
Agree that a wheelchair cannot go through the doors That is why I get upser when I see people in an accessible room that using a scooter but don't really need the accessible features in the room. I have seen people on a scooter get to their room door than get off the scooter and walk into the room. They clearly don't need an accessible room I wish they had ways they could screen for actual need before you can book an accessible room. Earlier this year we were trying to book a Disney cruise but there weren't any accessible rooms available. I found out later that a disney vlogger booked a last minute guaranteed room on the same cruise and were given an accessible room that someone must have booked then canceled.. If the cruise line had called us when the room became available we could have still gone. Instead the room was given to able bodied people that didn't need it.
Royal Caribbean had signs up that items would be removed from chair hogs’ chairs, but they weren’t enforcing the policy and I had trouble finding a chair in January.
A - because we had a CPAP machine, and it was noted on our account. It took a very long time to figure out why we weren’t being cleared by the check in process. It took multiple workers looking into it before they figured out what was going on. This was a really scary moment after over a year of planning, and not knowing why we weren’t being permitted to board. 😬
Thank you for sharing this great information. I noticed that Carnival was mentioned a few times for various reasons. I use to enjoy taking a Carnival cruise but we've seen a lot of unruly behavior which as mentioned has become all to prevalent the last several years.

Same thing happened to us on Allure of the Seas. I was livid and called security. By the time the Security dude arrived, our neighbor extinguished her cigarette.
Totally agree with @jewels7822. We had these a-holes smoking next door to us on NCL, standing on the railing with lit cigarettes while their smoke wafted into our cabin. Nobody from NCL would do anything until I took a picture showing their hand with a lit cigarette, visible from OUR cabin, then finally they quit. We just came back from a cruise on Celebrity Apex. My wife has MS and rented the Celebrity approved scooter. After booking 2 excursions we were told the buses could not accommodate my wife's scooter. My wife got a refund for the excursion, but my son and I went ahead on the trips. In both cases there were all kinds of handicapped people from other ships with scooters using them and the bus had plenty of storage for them. The whole vibe we got on the ship (with the exception of our room attendant) was the crew would rather not deal with handicapped people. An experience we will keep in mind when planning our next vacation.

Hi John, You were lucky. It would have been a BIG deal if you had broken a hip in the fall. You would not have been able to walk, and the pain would have been terrible, ending a nice cruise. An air lift or a trip to a hospital at the next port would have been in order. Would you want to have surgery in a hospital far from home? If I come out at 7 am and there are towels saving chairs I remove them and put my family's butt in the chairs. This has ALWAYS BEEN A SHADY PRACTICE for those doing this! Leaving towels on chairs and expecting them to remain there, I wish just once someone would ask ''did you remove those towels!''
Family of 6 on my last cruise, one person put towels and sunscreen to cover all the chairs at about 7 a.m. At 10 a.m. they were still empty, so I removed all their stuff except one chair because a group were looking for chairs. Another cruiser had a fit that I would do that. I explained that I had been up there sunrise and no one had returned in 3 hours. When the family did finally show up at about Noon, that other cruiser ran to tell them that I removed their stuff. They never approached me about it because surely they knew they were in the wrong.
A - The only problem we have ever had is we printed two boarding passes on sheet of paper, front side and back, It delayed us about 15 minutes, the staff printed us new one quickly one for each passenger. Which realty made no sense because all they did was scan them and give them back to us, they could have done that by flipping the paper.
A - Just once, I'm required to use my Green Card to re-enter the US after a cruise so that must be used instead of my passport. I presented my boarding pass (green card info entered to print this out) and my Green Card and the person insisted that I had to use a passport and wasn't taking anything but a passport or I could not board. She finally went and got a Supervisor, who ended up getting a immigration officer and she was corrected and apologized
Ok most of these I can understand but the CBD situation is absurd it’s just oil. It doesn’t get you high so the fact that someone can get banned for it is wild. It’s like banning someone for having hemp seeds in a snack. They could’ve just made him toss it instead of banning him all together. Especially if it’s a first time offense.
@@debrapickhard3218 You can have your own opinions but I hope you know why people use CBD to begin with and what it does. It helps with stress and anxiety and relieves pain without THC.
Not descrimination against pregnant women. Even the healthiest pregnancy can take a horrible turn unexpectedly. Or the woman can fall and hit her stomach. 23 week is when the fetus can live outside the uterus. That is why 23 weeks is the cut off. But it takes very specific equipment and specially trained medical team to provide care to micro-premies. Not every hospital has that ability even in big cities. I know a ship doesn't.
So you are saying no women should be allowed to live anywhere where the nearest hospital does have the equipment to treat premies? Even big cities? Someone is no more likely to fall on a ship than on the ground.
@@jennifera4350 that’s not how I took it, what she said makes total sense. Are you a healthcare worker? If not, then you might not understand the reasoning behind what she said on the crackdown on the 23+ weeks. A cruise is not a necessity for living your life, it is considered recreation. The ship/cruise line is only obligated to have essential life-saving equipment on board. If a woman cruises and gives birth at 23+ weeks is hemorrhaging, and eventually dies because the ship did not have blood for a blood transfusion on board, who is to blame? If the baby comes out that small and there’s no ventilator to put them on and dies, who is to blame? You might think that never happens, but in hospitals all over the world, it happens every day. Hospitals are required to have specialized machinery/equipment to treat emergencies of all sorts, Cruise Ships Are Not.
@@CUATDSNY The facts are cruise deaths are not caused by pregnant women. But by heart attacks, suicides, murder, falls on board and overboard by drunk people.
I had a brief hassle getting on carnival with my South Carolina wallet sized birth certificate but the supervisor informed the person at the desk it was fine for me to use it to board. I have used it on two cruises and was hassled both times but did get on with no problem when the supervisor checked it.
Jason, on my cruise this past week, on Navigator of the Seas, the pool deck chairs, all had placards on them, about not hogging chairs, or their items would be taken to the towel reservation area.
After 31 cruises I feel the quality of all the major lines are taking the wonders out of the vacation. Food Entertainment Service have all deteriorated and Corporate Nickel and dime is new vision. Too bad!
1 am curfew for teens is too late, especially without a parent! We came off a cruise in early May where teens were in elevators pushing every button, giving people lip service who didn't like what they were doing, and running around late at night unsupervised making noise! About the CBD oil, understand Carnival taking it, but banning someone for life? Carnival makes mistakes, and we passengers forgive them, time for Carnival to return that loyalty!
Last time I checked CBD products ARE legal on a federal level so therefore they just blatantly lied in that statement they gave!! And if the cruise line is an American cruise line technically the cbd products wouldn’t be illegal until you step off the ship in a country that prohibits it because the ship would fall under “U.S. territory.” 🤦🏽♂️

My husband and I love cruising, we follow ALL the rules and guidelines and respect all the personnel on the cruise line. In fact my husband calls me Ms. Safety lol and we both follow the law, rules and guidelines in life too!
Thank God for them enforcing the pregnancy one. My cruise last year had to change course due to a lady going into labor. We missed the one and only port I cared to go to. I brought a friend that never cruised before and he asked if that sort of thing happens a lot because if it did he wasn't sure he would want to keep taking cruises since he wouldn't be sure if his vacation would end up where he wanted to go to for years.
Carnival Firenze is definitely ignoring the "no scooters in the hallway" policy ... we just got off the ship on the 16th and had to maneuver around 2 big scooters parked right next to my door for the entire cruise, when I called guest services they said " Can't you walk around them?" ... Huh ????
@@ellenh4984I was going to ask the same thing, but, with different wording. If the strollers and scooters are necessary for a human to maneuver then the cruise lines should find a way to aid for the sake of the enjoyment of all passengers.
The cruise line has the proper sized scooters for rent. Handicapped people are advised of the size restrictions and given the opportunity to rent one. Scooters in the hallway are an impediment for emergency evacuations.
@@CarolPalmdaleVintagefor some reason many people that use scooters seem to feel entitled. I once mentioned they need a huge scooter to get places but have zero problems walking many times up to & around the buffet. I got comments like well it’s not far to a buffet but going other places is different, not really. If someone can’t rent the size that fits in their room so everyone is safe then they shouldn’t cruise. If people are trying to get off a ship a scooter in a hallway can cost people their lives. It gets congested & people panic then place a scooter in the way or someone trying to get on a scooter in the hallway instead of their room & you are going to have a nightmare.
My husband had his bags searched after the dog smelled something in his bag. He had an open bag of pita potato chips and his medication. He also had an old-fashioned bark toothbrush. He was greatly disappointed with the way security handled his bag of chips. He said they threw one chip in the garbage at a time and looked at his old-fashioned bark toothbrush, as if it were a foreign object. He said security is unprofessional and untrained.
For next year, I'd like to see a ban on people sleeping on couches in public spaces such as observation lounges. Especially those who take their shoes and socks off while they sleep. YUCK.
Most of these "rules" don't seem unreasonable except the rubber duck prohibition which is just stupid as it's not hurting anybody. I thought the cruise lines were having difficulty booking full ships. If you place all sorts of rules and restrictions and ban anyone who steps out of line, it sounds rather counterproductive.
Good Lord my kids had to be in their room no later than 10PM. They would usually go back to their room anyway. They could watch movies. Unsupervised children in large groups nothing good can happen from this. There is always one trouble maker. And our boys had to watch their sister.
A - but it wasn't too bad and kind of funny. I was almost to the desk to get my badge when I heard my name called. "Sir, come with us to the baggage area, There is something questionable in one of your bags" (very polite and professional), now, on my way there, I was pondering what it might be. We got there and he showed me the xray. "Is that a fixed blade knife"....well, it certainly looks like one and I do have some, but definitely didn't bring any. We finally open my bag and found two of my metal daily care products laying right next to each other. We both laughed agreeing what the xray looked like. I thanked him for being diligent and went on my way.
I agree with all of the changes. I just hope the rules aren’t just “hints.” Scooters in the hall are dangerous. They’re an accident waiting to happen. Especially if there was an emergency. If the scooters don’t fit inside of the door the ppl shouldn’t be able to cruise with them. I loved the idea of hiding the ducks until ppl wanted to make money off of them. If they enforce the towel rule, that would be wonderful, but the staff has to know that ppl get the towels the night before & put them on the chairs. Regarding the rules for children. I don’t think for a minute parents will start being parents on a cruise. Parents aren’t parents anymore & and rules won’t change that. Bags aren’t expensive so buy a bag strictly for shooting/amunition & don’t take the chance. I’ve never had any problems boarding. I double check everything, to make sure I don’t have anything with me I shouldn’t have & I have everything I should. During my life there’s always been rules & they were enforced, so why shouldn’t rules be enforced now?
A, yes. I was sharing a room with my friend's granddaughter on Royal Caribbean. I had the required paperwork that was properly executed, but the desk agent wasn't sure how to process it. She had to get a supervisor to approve the sailing. It's funny, I had previously sailed with her, but because her grandmother was in the same cabin and shared her last name, they never asked us for our paperwork, though we had it because her grandmother is not her guardian.
I have a very light weight foldable scooter which is made ‘for travelling’ and have never had an issue. My problem is that some folks walk right out of places and I’m terrified I may hit one of them. I was caught in a narrow door and I was going forward and backward to get through; a woman actually tried to step around/over me and I darn near injured her. I was crying by the time I got back to my stateroom. If something bad happened I’m sure folks would assume I was driving too fast or something. People must be more considerate of those who can’t get down a hallway as quickly as they do. They could injure themselves or the person on the scooter. Both sides need to be more respectful.

So, you’re one of the people hogging the hot tubs?!!! 😂 2:39
I did a 10 day Mexico out of Los Angeles, NCL. 5 East Coast Families with a grand total of 9 kids between 15-18 were absolute terrors.
Wow!
This is why cruise lines are not discriminating! SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - A pregnant woman was airlifted from a Disney cruise by the U.S. Coast Guard this week after experiencing medical complications on board.Apr 18, 2024. They can’t help you!!!
Over the yrs I remember multiple times Babies being Born while still on the Cruise Ships
@@jennifera4350the 80-90% who do well is because they go to neonatal intensive care. A pregnancy is fine, until it’s not. Things can go south quickly.

You understand that there are rules, we don't have unlimited rights and we live in a society.
Sounds like a good turn out.
Answer for me is NO , people need to do their homework before they cruise..cruise lines are not playing these days..
COVID has made people crazy. No one has any respect for anyone else anymore. It's me, me, me
I don't necessarily agree that it's first time cruisers who act up.
I’ve seen Princess staff remove towels from deck chairs 😊

Hi Richard! Thanks for commenting! Have a great day!
Do they need to require a “scooter license” since some of the elderly clearly can’t safely drive? I’m sorry that happened to you.

These are the requirements of the countries. The cruise line is just enforcing them. This happened to me once because I use my maiden name. I was travelling with my husband and 2 children. I immediately requested a manager get involved. Upon review of my documents by the manager, I was allowed boarding because I had all the necessary documents and was given an apology for the error due to the staff member not being adequately trained.

Tis the nature of the person.
Lol. You’re surprised that there was pot and verbal (even physical) altercations when traveling with Carnival Cruises (AKA Atlanta Cruise Lines)?
You know, I hate to admit that I dont disagree with any of the crackdowns. I appreciate that they're finally mak8ng an issue of the scooters. While those with mobility issues have as much right to go on vacation as anyone else who can afford it, I think many of us have experienced hallways blocked by scooters parked outside of staterooms. Not only is that inconvenient, but also unsafe.
I’ve been on at least 20 cruises and have never seen a scooter outside a stateroom. I didn’t know that was a thing
@@themaryfwatkinsMe either.
They should take vacations that dont affect others.

No scooters should be allowed in the hallways. During a rough cruise these could be in the way if someone misses a step. Also it's in the way for room steward's housekeeping carts. Accidents waiting to happen!
Scooters were all over my last sailing and I actually heard one person say that they should have a cruise for just people with scooters.

It's also a fire hazard.
I was on a Carnival boat 6 months ago & people were smoking weed in the regular smoking area on deck. The staff did not care, I watched them walk by the smokers 2 feet away & the crew did bug them or say a word. To expect more from the trailer park of the sea seems a bit much.
I have a separate "range bag, " gym bag, and a travel bag. They don't even stay in the same rooms in the house.
Going on a cruise is like luxury shopping, not fun anymore. Too many people messing things up for everyone.
It depends on the type of cruise and we're it ports.

@TheTankFG I agree, that clause has been on the books for many years.

You need a separate, dedicated range bag.
A gentleman removed his jacket to cover my modesty and then he and his wife ‘sandwiched’ me to get me back to my cabin….the woman on the mobility scooter was not remotely bothered by the situation she had left me in…oh the joys of life.
My last cruise the crew wouldn’t let me go down disembarkation ramps without their “help” and ridiculous coaching and one ended bending my chair’s arm. I wasn’t happy!!!
The curfew time needs to be 11: PM so the adults can have some peace!
I can't believe some cruise lines are going to let kids 17 and under out until 1 AM. Kids can do a lot of damage by then.

Went on a Carnival cruise in November and although the drug sniffing dogs were highly present in cruise terminal, many still made it onto the ship with marijuana. It’s sad though because every where you went you could smell it somewhere.
You sound fun.
@@bboven1you sound silly. If you cannot go one week without smoking weed then do not board a cruise ship. It’s a fire hazard for one. And secondly, for those of us who do not smoke week that smell is horrendous.
Agree that a wheelchair cannot go through the doors
That is why I get upser when I see people in an accessible room that using a scooter but don't really need the accessible features in the room. I have seen people on a scooter get to their room door than get off the scooter and walk into the room. They clearly don't need an accessible room
I wish they had ways they could screen for actual need before you can book an accessible room.
Problem with cruise lines, they will do nothing about chair hog, as they are afraid of conflict or bad comment on line.
Camouflage patterned clothing is illegal in several countries; many of them in the Caribbean. Check ahead of time, or better yet, leave the camo at home.

Cruise lines need to crack down on Smoking on balconies. I was on a 5-night with someone smoking several times a day on their balcony. I called Customer Service daily with no results

It's not just the fire hazard, it's not just the fact it's strictly prohibited, it's the fact people like that are a major NUISANCE. And then they have the nerve to say WE are Karens ...

My wife and I normally only have 1 deck chair that we share. It has worked for us for over 15 years.
Don't blame them your handicap is not everyones else problem.

I was knocked down by a lady on a scooter during one of our cruises. She build up some speed to get over a barrier of a door. She got over the barrier but kept on going and knocked me down. An officer came over to see if I was hurt. I said no and that was that, no big deal.
Hi John,
You were lucky. It would have been a BIG deal if you had broken a hip in the fall. You would not have been able to walk, and the pain would
have been terrible, ending a nice cruise. An air lift or a trip to a hospital at the next port would have been in order. Would you want to have

@@jennifera4350Yes. That’s exactly what they said. Word for word. 🙄🤡

Gets right to the point. I agree...the best.
