I once worked in a Verizon call center. Every day I would get very angry calls from Cruisers that had returned home to get a thousand dollars or more phone bill. AIRPLANE MODE is your Friend!! All of you Cruise blogs should have that in every episode.
@James Wilson, I had the same calls when I worked in the Verizon call canter. Evidently I had a knack for talking people off the wall. To reiterate what James said, AIRPLANE MODE is definitely your friend.
Now Verizon never gave me a problem on a cruise but I switched to AT&T a couple of years ago. Went on a cruise last year in 2022, got home and my next bill was $650.00!!! I should have called AT&T and asked their police but I was used to Verizon and thought nah I’ll be ok.
Last cruise I was on, (2005) we got hit with bad weather and I got sea sick. Our server brought me bowls of broth and packets of crackers when I refused to order food. When I left my hubby to finish his meal so I could go lay down the server called someone to meet me at my room with more crackers and a couple bottles of water.
I always take a few cans of Spite or 7Up for sea sickness or nausea. If you drink it hot, it gives swift relief. I was sea sick on our last cruise and hot Sprite helped right away. Staff couldn’t heat it up for me so I had to use the blow dryer on the can.
Our cruise was scheduled for September 19th. Katrina decided we would not be cruising, so we went to Mississippi and Nashville. Then went the nest year.
Very thoughtful and caring. Another example, out server noticed my husband looking unwell and brought him a nicely sliced green 🍏 to take to our room along with 2 whole green 🍏 🍏 and a knife for future needs. It really helped a lot. She said it must be a green apple, called a Granny Smith apple in Canada. Curious, is it the same name everywhere?
Granny Smiths in Australia too. Green apples are recommended by everyone I've spoken to, crew and sailors alike. And both examples were very considerate of the crew members to do.
Ladies, if you feel as tho your period may come on during the cruise, make sure you bring PLENTY of supplies especially if you’re heavy the first two-three days. Not only are they expensive on the ship, but they only supply light day ones and off the ship depending on where you port at.. It will be hard to find them also. Speaking from experience.
Also, and this is a bit more invasive, but If you’re aware that your cycle will start prior to the cruise you can ask your doctor for pure progesterone. I keep really good track of my cycle. So one year I knew it would ruin my trip. Progesterone worked like a charm. It postponed my cycle and when i stopped taking it my cycle came the next day. If you live in Europe, this is more commonly done as the drug is available basically over the counter.
Also, pack red, or dark is items. One of the most embarrassing moments of my life, I wore a yellow skirt, started my month on an excursion and my whole backside was red by the time I got back to the ship. I also did No no and hung my wet skirt on the balcony and was chewed out by the Stewart
Literally gonna be cruising this week and scheduled to come on the last day of the trip. Really don't wanna pack these items but gonna go ahead and do it😣 thx for the tip
Menstrual cup or two - is a game changer! You can put it into and forget about it for up to 12 hours. Even if your flow is heavy. Just have an iv sterilizer
One more tip for the ladies: The lounges & theaters are air conditioned and can get chilly. Taking a shawl along may not be a bad idea. Great tips on the video!
One of the things we enjoy on our cruises is an intimate dinner, just the 2 of us. We find that if you can get the head waiter to assign you a table for 2 at one of the 2 dining times, you will have the same wait staff each night. They become friendly and attentive as they wait on you. We always tip our waiter well at the evening of the next to the last night. And we tip at the beginning of our cruise. This goes a long way to a pleasant dining experience.

There is virtually NO PRIVACY on balconies :)! When I was on the higher decks of my ship I could see EVERYONE in their balconies from above. Again, NO privacy :)
I do credit card disputes and we get several calls about being charged the wrong amount on a cruise or just anywhere but especially out of the country, SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS EVEN IF YOUR CARD DECLINES!!
Ships count on passengers drinking a lot (buying drink packages that are incredibly expensive) or frequently going to the bar and buying the drinks without the package, and then forgetting how many they ordered. They do NOT give you a receipt unless you ask so you have no proof. And who is good about saving their tiny receipts on a cruise?! The best way to handle a cruise is to NOT charge much while on the ship!
Instead of the plastic shoe organizer I use two fabric drawer organizers from Ikea. They are less bulky, less weight and do the trick to organize my small things. Plus: The room looks nicer😊
A strong recommendation: instead of the hassle of a regular fabric jacket for formal nights, bring a leather jacket that has thin dark/black leather. it looks great and goes with any sort of outfit (for men)
Good tip about checking your on-board account - frequently!! On one of our cruises I happened to check my account the first day of our cruise as we had a drink at the sail-away event. Found that we had been charged for 6 martinis. There was only the two of us and we had 1 glass of wine each. Took the whole week we were on the cruise to get the charge removed.
I'd say a random charge appears once every 4-5 cruises here. Most times it doesn't happen but it does happen enough that I always keep an eye on things to just be sure.
Yes! frequently checking the “folio” as it’s called (the bill) shows accumulated charges each day. The ship was very accurate. Remember, the “tip” they charge you per day does NOT have to be paid. You can ask them to take it off your bill and then tip in cash what you want at the end of the cruise.
Exactly. Most people who would not need those meetings would glance by it on the schedule and not give it a second thought. And those who would go to those meetings appreciate the discretion.
I’m glad to know what “Friends of Bill W.” actually means. I would have gone to one expecting to participate in discussions about and enjoy the music of Bill Withers! “ Lovely Day” and “Just the Two of Us” are my favorites! 🎷🎵🎼🎶🎧
I looked forward to those who are in rush to disimbark. All disembarkment day ship arrive very early in morn and generally ready by 8am to start unloadig passengers but I'll be relaxing at buffet having breakfast for I always book afternoon flight home . This way I'm among the last to disembark and so much easier to spot my luggage at the reclaim area before going thru no wait line at custom. Even traffic jam on street has calm down considerably.
Odyssey of the Seas was amazing. It took 10/15min max to board and exactly 15min to leave. My time was 8:15am to exit and we were literally on the curb outside at 8:15am I was amazed!!!
The ONE time I did NOT pack a Hoodie it was freezing cold in Galveston and I ended up buying a hoodie on board. Thank goodness it wasn’t too expensive and of great quality… but still 🙄
The info about ship afety and sanitation, links to CDC etc were so nice to have! I immediately checked out the ship I'm cruising on next month and happy to see it checks out very clean and safe!
Disney Cruise Line does not allow over the door hangers such as a shoe hanger. They say over the door hangers damage the doors. Just thought Disney cruisers may need to know that. Also, I have been charged for 2 drinks at the bar instead of 1 drink. I think its been accidental and guest services removes the extra charge without any difficulty. Thanks for all your tips!
As others indicated, some rules regarding food have been changing regarding ordering items not on menu or ordering multiples. The more dining options available onboard, the less likely you will be able to order something not on the menu. It will be expected that you will review menus in advance since they are available on your shipboard app and make dining choices that way.
Our menus were not on the ship app. If you wanted to know what was being served the next night you had to ask your waiter or go look outside the dining room the next day.
I refuse to install apps unless absolutely necessary. If the app only did what I was installing it for that would be one thing, but far to many bad actors have spoiled the bunch.
Hi Tanner, just off the HAL ship and we always do self assist disembarkation. We always carry our own bags and no tag is required. We noted on this last cruise those who had tags were not allowed to leave the ship until their number group was called. Some had their bags but were sent back until their group time arrived. I guess that’s a good case for them to be able to control the masses and make you think for next time if you hate the wait! Thanks for the vid and happy cruising! 😊
I had a photo package removed that ended up on my final invoice. Have no clue how that happen because I never get photos. In response to putting naughty things away, passengers should put valuables away too like when staying in a hotel. There are thieves on cruise ships too, especially ones that know they will be quitting or getting fired.
Another thing to put away. Snacks you bring from home. I didn't know that sometimes people leave treats in the room for the room steward. I brought along some granola bars in case I got hungry late at night and didn't feel like leaving the room. I left them out and the room steward assumed I left them for him. I wouldn't call it stealing, it was just a mistake.
Keep you receipts and check daily to make sure you have not been overcharged. Sort out A.S.A.P. Don’t wait till end of cruise at customer service will be slammed. You can also pay your bill with any left over currency (check what currency ship will take) but do before last night on board.
I was before retirement a games engineer, ALL Cranes are set with a time limit to release grip can be set from no prize to one in ten or one in whatever you want kids toys are usuall one in three
I am a subscriber of your channel, with that said I enjoy your videos and think they are very informative. I am a veteran cruiser and even though this is the case. I always watch to get any updates as rules and policies are changing all the time. Thanks for your honesty .
Thanks for the comment! Be sure to let people know if you think of something they should know before their cruise. I'm one person. Having other people chime in with tips is great when they've cruised a lot too!
We brought wine on a cruise (husband is a winemaker). Some was for gifts at a stop and some was to have on board. We paid corkage fees for wine we had to drink (and usually share the remainder of the bottle with wait and kitchen staff) and they kept the case we were gifting until we arrived at port. It was less expensive than getting good wine on board and we had good stuff. We each bought one cocktail on formal night.
What?! You paid corkage for them to open a bottle for you? Why? On my ship I simply went to the bartender with the bottle and he opened it for me for no cost. I leave the bottle in my room and bring the glass with me to drink, or I bring the bottle with me to the restaurant, already opened. Restaurant staff will allow me to have it on the table since it is already opened.
I like NCLs open dining. Never had a problem ordering anything extra, and if they'd say anything you just to to another restaurant whenever you want. And frankly it's great not eating with the same people every day sometimes, if you know what I mean.
When it comes to drugs, be extremely careful in foreign ports as well, asking the local cabbie for the best place to stash is likely to land you in jail while your ship leaves port! Also, the whole ship will be "arrested" (detained) if discovered a passenger did this and made it back ( happened to me once in Jamaica)
We had a charge on our stateroom account that we didn't make. I guess our medallion was close to another couple who was ordering drinks. Customer service reversed the charge. Now we check our account daily.
One thing we've found on multiple ships is that ordering 'off menu' is hit or miss. Recently, we wanted something off menu and our waiter told us they could get it the next day. We also asked about other things off menu and were given a hard 'sorry, no'. On the other hand, on one cruise (pre-shutdown), I didn't see anything on the menu that was appetizing and our waiter said 'let me bring you something' which wound up being one of the best meals I had on that trip. Additionally, with all of the changes that have been going on in the cruise space over the last few months, it seems like you may or may not get charged for a second entree if that's your thing, YMMV.
@@marcin97 Sorry about that - Just the main course. As an ex-pat Brit I used to have meals that were an appetiser or starter, a main course, and then dessert or pudding. But since moving across the pond I've had to train myself to say entree, even though I KNOW it's silly & confusing. :)
Keep in mind that one of the main reasons there are such long lines and large delays during debarkation is because people refuse to adhere to the scheduled plan. So, if you ignore it and leave whenever you feel like you you aren't breaking any rules... but you are being a jerk and making everything harder for everyone including yourself.
Sorry, but many of us have transportation to the airport or shore excursions privately arranged that leave early in the am. The ship will not know about these. To be polite, simply tell them-they are glad to accommodate you!
Right?? This floors me! Alcohol packages are often thrown in to the deal when you purchase a cruise (or it always is when we look for one!) and it amazes me how people feel the need to still BYOB when they cruise! Then again, I watched a guy in line in front of us at the Hoover Dam be taken down for trying to bring a 5th of Vodka with him to the tour! I was stunned at the audacity given there are literally signs and security telling people time and time again that it is illegal. People are amazing. 😅
I fell madly in love with the entertainment director. He just had such a sweet way with the cruisers. But, of course ... he kept things "professional" ... but I did get a photo with him. 😍😎
Just got back from my 1st cruise, and on Day 3 I saw a gaming/activity charged on my account. I just called guest services (the line was always long) and the just removed by the end of the day.
I used the pouches and hid them in several suitcases cases. When we open the one suitcase, there was a note in the middle that said your bag was randomly searched and they only found one of the two pouches in the case they looked in another tip. Use multiple and spread them around.
Great tips. Thanks so much. A tip I learned the hard way…. Your cabin door when pushed may or may not completely close like in a hotel door. I had received room service then shoved the door thinking it closed. However, us girls woke up the next morning to find it still cracked open. 😮Luckily we were safe. I love the tip about the food. We new this one and ordered multiple of the same appetizers and deserts and love that room service is FREE!
Not always free, depending on the cruise line. Carnival has started charging for certain foods ordered via room service. It will be free for some stuff, but not all. Check the room service menu for what is and isn't free.
Main dining room, Evening meal I chose the Fillet steak and trimmings, I knew as I had cruised a lot, that it does not include French Fries (Chips) I knew that on the back of the menu you could order French Fries as a side dish so I did, It was a table for six so four strangers,,The waiter brought my french fries, and the guy next to me grabbed it put half on his plate and the other half on the other guys plate, I advised them that that was my ordered side plate, and the rest of the dinner was in silence though the waiter did bring ME a further side order
@enginepy I'd avoid kids, teens. A adults only 🚢 is my speed. I'm single, 52. I'd add my current shape, body is NO way ready for pools, hot tubs, etc. Lol.
Have to say, I personally didn’t really learn anything new in this video, but there’ll be a lot of people new to cruising, who would certainly benefit from watching this.
Was mention about time slot to disembark and as for my self from experience, that it is always crowded at beginning and yet they still manage to get everyone off usually before 10am , so I'm usually that last one off, due to fact give me a relax time at morning buffet, very easy to find my luggage dockside since their only few dozens let to be claim and no lines at customs. Also find traffic has now started to open up since most of passengers has since left pier area.
And...my vigilant husband would never willingly leave our bags for any length of time.....knowing how easily they can be just picked up by any one.....(anyone who wants our dirty laundry !...)
@@nickiabbott5060 I take out travel insurance and what insurance will pay for lost luggage is what if not more than my luggage is worth(I do my shopping at 2nd hand stores)AND go on trips for enjoyments not souvenirs for places I been I can find those souvenirs at local flea market back home. But then clutter is in my memory, I don't need it on home shelves. So if my bag go missing be one less thing to carry home just cash in on insurance. Item I need to keep is always kept with me in carry on.
Thank you for this video. I am planning my first cruise and am very excited. One question: are gratuities included. I would hate to be a d-bag. Thank you.
You mentioned casinos. The last time I cruised, smoking was allowed in the casinos as well as in the sports bar and some outside areas. Those of us who are terribly allergic to smoking, suffer greatly even from the smell of smoking drifting away from those designated areas. Smoking is a major fire hazard and the number one problem for, a cruise line that has a captive passenger list I would in the ocean. Please, please, please. Can you please convince cruise lines to band smoking on their vessels. The airlines used to complain 20 years ago that banning smoking on flights would ruin their business. Of course this was ridiculous. Same goes for cruise ships. If you like these comments, please indicate and maybe we can get something going to band smoking on cruise ships.
As far as Marijuana goes, instead of taking pure flower - Could you get away with taking the less risky, more legal (You can buy it in a tobacco store in most states I believe) Delta 8 vape? And as far as other countries go, if you leave it on the boat - Isn't it still considered international waters until you actually step foot into the country? Thanks for the video!
I'm going on my first cruise next month and I've watched probably 30 or 40 videos and only one or two of the things you covered were even slightly covered by someone else
5:00 It is important not to waste food though. Even people chronically take more food than they will eat, and it gets wasted, this can cause the cruise companies to raise prices.
I was just getting off Ruby Princess cruise where I was in error for a phone call made from the room. I did learn to check my onboard account at least last sea day. The error was quickly removed by service desk
I've been on one cruise and went solo on Royal Caribbean. They had daily solo meet ups at the wine bar but I never made it to one. To make a long story short, I'm addicted to cruising and like having my own space (only child here 😅)
Was just on Oasis of the Seas and asked if my son could have the risotto without mushrooms and was told no. They did NO special orders. We did order an extra entree one night and RC will only serve one at a time. When my son decided he didnt want the other entree, we were verbally reprimanded by our waiter. Cruising is not like it used to be. I also didnt realize we could leave the ship whenever we wanted! That is good to know. Our most recent cruise, we sat around longer waiting for our assigned time. Was a bit of a waste.
You mentioned no drugs allowed on board but you had said you have smelled it on occasion. I was on a cruise recently with Princess Cruises and I heard stories that a few passengers were forced to leave the ship because of reports of people smelling marijuana smoke.
Also, while the federal status of marijuana is still one of prohibition, the rules have been relaxed for Delta 8 THC since 2018 (and it's only started dawning on everyone just how relaxed, in the last year or so.) If someone really REALLY wants to bring them on board, it seems like a no brainer to go with that formulation in a non-smoke format.
@@katarh Probably not worth the risk. Many cruise lines have increased the use of sniffer dogs and - Unless the dogs don't recognize whatever stuff you mentioned is - the dog will probably find it. It will be confiscated, and the passenger may well not get on the ship.
Novel warning: I got caught sneaking booze along with a friend/roommate. We both had our own cabins with our girlfriends so 4 guests, two cabins. About 2-3 months before we sailed we all started drinking nothing but box wine. We saved the bladders, washed them out and backfilled them with various liquors to sneak on. The bags had no metal and an easy use spout, essentially they were perfect. We rolled them with towels, jeans, hoodies and anywhere we could think. Both of our bags were flagged and we had to go to the “naughty room” which was a hallway converted into a staging area with all the other passengers and their confiscated bags. You had to open the bag in front of the security staff and everyone in line could see. While in line we saw multiple guests with 1 or 2 full liquor bottles and others with 1 or 2 rum runner bags. We were up next. They opened our bags, and started unrolling clothes and discovering the bladders. After the 3rd and 4th bladders we could hear giggling and gasps from those waiting and watching behind us as the they removed our contraband, bag after bag after bag after bag. They pulled 6 bladders from my bag and 6 bladders from my friends bag. Since the liquor wasn’t in its original bottles they would not hold it for us and threw it in the trash. Both of our girlfriends had brought the same amount of liquor in wine bags in their luggage and never got caught. The plan was to bring enough in each bag that if only one bag got through we would still have a decent amount to drink. It worked. It honestly wasn’t worth the work of messing with the wine bladders and we’ve been buying a drink package for the last 10 or so cruises. Please don’t do the mouthwash bottle trick. The staff knows about it and even if it works, no matter what you do you will never get rid of the mouthwash taste.
Lmao!😂 that was hilarious. Not what happened on ur cruise but the above conversation. Good one! I wonder why they only flagged 2 of the 4 suitcases. That's interesting...
@@andreaselsing7144 my guess would be the girls had makeup/lotion/perfumes and what not so maybe things just blended better than our bags that just had clothes and minor toiletries. Just a guess, I honestly have no idea.
Geez- either buy a drink package, drink only in port, or heaven sakes, forgo the alcohol for a week. It's not worth the trouble to try to scam the cruise line. Just do the right thing and be honest.
Be extra cautious of incorrect charges, as it is often theorized that they add extra charges intentionally, as a portion of them won't be caught by the guest.
@@Studentspeaksout negative... there was an entire scandal with shore excursions and overcharges that it was theorized carnival staff were making afficilate commisions off of it.
We live in Oregon. Headed to Alaska in a couple days. Does Verizon work on my cell phone in Alaska? At most of the ports I mean. Trying to save money on the Wi-Fi so I can check emails and text messages without using Wi-Fi while in port.
Best Tip: Research your cruise line and ship. You will be much happier with 3000 people with similar personalities. Carnival is not Celebrity. Royal Caribbean is not Princess.
Good advice, although this is generally learned through trial and error. We cruise Royal Caribbean and find it most suited to us. Never been on Norwegian or Princess but have a feeling they are on par with RCCL. Carnival tends to be a younger party crowd in our experience with them. And Celebrity seems more formal. Of course you have Disney catering to families with children and Virgin where kids aren't allowed. And even the different ships a cruise line has can have very different feels to them. Some of the smaller older ships in the RCCL fleet feel very different from the new mega-liners. The right cruise line and ship can make a big difference in your enjoyment level depending on what you prefer.
It's true about ordering as much as you want from the menu. Except for steak and lobster. I understand that Royal caribbean will now charge $20 for seconds...
If the cameras work, why haven't cruise ships been able to capture suspicious activity or people who fall overboard??? It's also wild that the cruise lines are "suspiciously" charging passengers for false purchases but it's up to the cruisers to catch the fraudulent activity.
Smoking or vaping cannabis is a very bad idea, but edibles (like inconspicuous gummies) can be a convenient alternative for passengers that want to indulge.
We were on NCL in the Bahamas and watched the dogs come on board and take off several people who, the night before, were pretty rowdy in the bars and restaurants on board. Turns out they had drugs on them. They did not make it back on the ship from the Bahamas. Also, in Cuba they boarded the ship with the dogs. Definitely not something I would want to risk but each to their own.
For those skill "games" they are less regulated then slot machines (as they are normally "kids" games) so they are designed to absolutely not have wins possible till after a specific amount of money has been collected
"Cruise ships follow federal law" made me laugh so hard. Except for labor laws, evironmental, and any other inconvenient laws. Great tip about the reporting mandates available by various US Gov. agencies. Not quite the same as following federal laws, but it's a nice way to hold an entity accountable in the public eye.
It makes me laugh that you don't understand the difference between a federal law and a federal agency. Well to each their own. Some people liked to stay educated without critiquing others. Others just like to talk
i have autism and i’ll literally just order plain pasta or something similar in the dining room and ive never had a problem:) they’re extremely accommodating
I sure never saw a charge for taxi driver tips on Carnival excursions. Seeing as we've always given the drivers tips in cash, that's one charge I'll sure be looking to delete.
these are the best/realist tips out there, thank you for this!

- Security cameras are present throughout the ship's public areas to enhance safety and prevent misconduct.
- Marijuana and CBD products are generally prohibited on cruise ships, even if they are legal in certain states or have medicinal purposes.
- Monitor your onboard account throughout the cruise using the cruise line's app to ensure all charges are accurate, and report any errors to Guest Services for resolution.
Marijuana is a federsl crime
There is virtually NO PRIVACY on balconies :)! When I was on the higher decks of my ship I could see EVERYONE in their balconies from above. Again, NO privacy :)
Thank you.
You are the real MVP! Thank you 😊
You just regurgitated what Cruisely just said.
One important point about jackets. We always bring them because the air conditioning on board is usually on full blast!
A strong recommendation: instead of the hassle of a regular fabric jacket for formal nights, bring a leather jacket that has thin dark/black leather. it looks great and goes with any sort of outfit (for men)
See I disagree I always feel like the AC isn't strong enough on the ships, especially in the room
Definitely check onboard account daily, mistakes can be made and it is a heck of a lot easier to clear a mistake up before the last day of the cruise.
Great tips. I wondered what Bill W. meant. That’s a tasteful way to handle it. Thanks for sharing.
I cruise frequently and watch videos for new ideas. This was by far was the BEST cruise tip video I’ve seen. Well done and thank you.

I recommend packing at least one sweater and a lightweight waterproof jacket.
Thank goodness it wasn’t too expensive and of great quality… but still 🙄
Bring a beach towel. Bring a pool floatie for the beach. Bring your own snorkeling gear too. 💕💕💕
I was wondering about a beach floatie. Do they typically have them available on the ships?
The info about ship afety and sanitation, links to CDC etc were so nice to have! I immediately checked out the ship I'm cruising on next month and happy to see it checks out very clean and safe!
Only appetizers for dinner! Whooooo!!!!! My fav part of the menu!
Better way to still have the shoe rack is to use neodymium magnet hooks ans hang it on those since they usually have metal doors
Coin pushers are my favorite!!! Such a scam though 😆
The shoe organizer is a great idea! I'm always looking for things scattered about in the cabin. This will make things much easier, thanks!!
They have them at dollar tree

Hi! I have a question, what do you use to hang the shoe organizer? Thanks in advance
@@jmltorres6659 On most bathroom doors there is a hook on the back of the door. That's what I used.
I think if the cruiser insisted on leaving, the cruise has no legal right to hold them.
@@sandraschwan358 Good grief! I couldn't believe I read that!
If I'm ready to leave, I'm going to leave. I'm paying them - not the other way around!
My mom used to tell me "out of sight, out of mind".
You're better off byob than buying wine on a ship. The motion of the ship is bad for the wine. On top of that the price is astronomical.
So they let you bring multiple bottles on board? I thought you could only bring one.
I like NCLs open dining. Never had a problem ordering anything extra, and if they'd say anything you just to to another restaurant whenever you want. And frankly it's great not eating with the same people every day sometimes, if you know what I mean.
64 and going on my first cruise with Son and family! 💞 Thank You and God Bless 💕
IDK about other lines, but Carnival's official entree (main course) policy is two free, then $5 per third, fourth, etc.
@Gunner Hill is that for main course or appetizers too? Just got back from Royal, no limit for sure.
@@GunnerHillTX carnival is a ghetto boat, you couldn't pay me to sail on one.
@@marcin97 Sorry about that - Just the main course. As an ex-pat Brit I used to have meals that were an appetiser or starter, a main course, and then dessert or pudding. But since moving across the pond I've had to train myself to say entree, even though I KNOW it's silly & confusing. :)
@@chiaralistica That's OK, you're entitled to your opinion, of course. Even though you've not actually tried the product. :D
We're going on our first cruise in September. I'm thankful videos like this to go with all the common stuff we've been seeing.
I like the fact he talks about things that fall between the cracks
This is great! So many do not think about these things and need to know for everyones sake! 😆
That's why we just wait and let the herd do its thing. Imagine an abandon ship situation with these people.
Sorry, but many of us have transportation to the airport or shore excursions privately arranged that leave early in the am. The ship will not know about these. To be polite, simply tell them-they are glad to accommodate you!
Thanks for sharing❤I’m ready for my next cruise with binoculars 8x42, diffuser with essential oil, hat, sunglasses, puffer coat and bathing suit❤
Unbelievable that you would pay $1000 for a cruise and try to sneak £18 dollar bottle of vodka pretty pointless
I agree. If you cant afford the drink package, dont bother going at all 😮🎉🎉🎉
Drink packages can double the cost of the cruise. They are never free!
£18 that’s $34 Australian….. you can only get the real nasty sprits for that much.
Yeah, completely unbelievable that someone wouldn’t want to spend an additional $600+ per person on a drink package
Pls more tips on these pouches ? Where to buy where to hide them ? We’re going on a carnival cruise and drink package is outrageous.

Thanks for the tips! I didn't think about reflections on the balcony 😁
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Neither did I! LOL
Yeah... sometimes you want to wait until after dark and then make sure the balcony light its out. :)
On British P&O Lines[edit]room service has a standard charge now of £2.50p a delivery.
I bet you a free cruise just abt every room attendant has SEEN IT ALL LOL.
I was just in the Carnival Celebration and they have the most private balcony I’ve seen.
One reason we always dine at a table for two!
We just came off a 9 day NCL cruise that we vlogged and I can tell you this is spot on . Solid information! 😂 Especially new cruisers , pay attention!

I'd consider a Virgin Cruise 🛳 18 & over. My cousin did 1 in 2022. His sea trip went well but the 🛩 was a major hassle.
I used to be snobby about cruises but they are a lot of fun. You actually don’t need any of the upgrades or add ons except maybe the alcohol package.

Have to say, I personally didn’t really learn anything new in this video, but there’ll be a lot of people new to cruising, who would certainly benefit from watching this.
That would be Me! First time cruiser.
Wife and I try to drag our feet at the end of the trip. Lots of folks are cranky and rude at the end.
If you hang a shoe organizer please don’t overfill and/or put it in a walkway where the poor room stewards are perpetually bumping in to it.
Very helpful advice. Excellent video. Thanks
The "green stuff" is illegal here in Australia. But i can guarantee you will smell it onboard lol
These are all excellent tips!! Most should come with common sense, but it seems as though people sometimes lack that trait. Lol.

To make a long story short, I'm addicted to cruising and like having my own space (only child here 😅)
I’ve smelt the same thing too. We knew it was someone on their balcony somewhere beside us
Was just on Oasis of the Seas and asked if my son could have the risotto without mushrooms and was told no.
I've never had RC only serve one entree at a time. I've ordered stuff saying "I've never tried the _____" and they'll bring it right out. No problem.
I was on Splendor of the Seas and have dietary restrictions. They had no problem changing things for me.
P,ease eat all that you order. Don’t waste food.

Very good, and not so common tips, thanks!

@@katarhYes, and wouldn't be annoying to those of us who hate the smell of weed smoke.
People like you and your friends are enough reason for me to give cruises a pass.

Geez- either buy a drink package, drink only in port, or heaven sakes, forgo the alcohol for a week. It's not worth the trouble to try to scam the cruise line. Just do the right thing and be honest.
