When I had COVID last year, my cat lay against me in bed for three days purring like a purr machine to help me recover. My cat is a self-entitled brat, but I will never forget how she tried to help me through COVID and I will tell anyone who is willing to listen how she helped me.
I have been a cat person for over 5 years. once you get to know these wonderful animals, it is easy to see that the CAT FAMILY is the most SENSATIONAL of all Animal families. From the Tiger to the Lion, to the Couger, just Magnificent. i am so proud of my cats.
Cats are like people in that each cat has it's own unique personality. We follow their lead to learn how to relate to them. I enjoy learning how to bond with each cat. I guess they're like our children that way. One child may want his or her special stuffed animal at bedtime while another wants the entire zoo! I love my cats, and I hope I can be with them again when my time here is done. ❤

So true. I am a late-in-life cat lover. Talk about a learning curve. My girl is not a "lap cat",but...when she comes up to me for lovin` `n pettin`...wow.
Remember not all loving kitties are lap cats. My British Shorthair, as all British Shorthairs, do not like picked up or held. But, she does like to sleep with me or lay next to me, slow blinks and belly exposed. Love them on their terms. I love Bella so much.
Same here , my 2 sisters aren’t lap cats but one never resists me when I pick her up but doesn’t come when I call her, unless it’s for food 😅. The other sister usually comes when I call her but doesn’t like being held or picked up but loves to be brushed. Both sleep on the bed near me and nuzzle me with trills if I sleep a little too late. Sometimes for no reason at all one with suddenly walk onto my lap a nuzzle my face or star licking my hair if I’m laying down. I’m crazy about my girls .
My British shorthair is the same she’s not keen on lap sitting but sleeps nexts to me every night. She does a lot of head bumping and slow blinks, a lot of Rolling around and flopping on the floor, she does a lot of bites to me and my daughter not hard bites play bites. She’s lovely and very cute, she follows us around the house she does actually like to be carried around like a baby, lovely thing she is xx
My little one doesn’t like to be lifted and seems very stand offish but after watching this video I can tell she loves all of us. She loves a belly rub and is always showing off her bum to us. Thank goodness humans aren’t the same 😅
I love when a cat shows its belly, it means they trust you. It means a lot when they show their bellies, rub up against your leg, lay on your chest, get up close to your face....all signs they love you and all things my kitty does to my husband and I 🥰🫶
My cat follows me to the toilet head buts my leg then if I leave the door open he sits politely with his back to me until I leave. I think he maybe guarding and protecting me! So cute
My late Himalayan cat learned to help me before I had a seizure…to get in a safe place. I suffer daily seizures and sometimes faint. He He’d made a weird noise. I would be right there when I’d come back to consciousness. This is my 3rd week without him…i miss him badly. I can’t be without a kitty. I bought a new Persian kitten who will be brought to me on my birthday!
They're Excellent Friends! They understand us and know our pain. Maybe I'm wrong but they're gifted with mental therapy. By staring intently on us, they psychologically X-RAY us and they see through our souls. They're excellent communicators and make themselves known. They're neither cold nor aloof. They want their space - as do we. But, they're there always when you need them.
My 2nd cat had a very special bond with me for the longest time. He trusted me the most in my family. I used to give him belly rubs and kisses on my belly. My mother tried it and only lasted 5 minutes. I did became his bestie when he was a stray. I was so lucky that he was very sweet and friendly cat. He did meow for a little talk. He was a 20 pound cat for a longest time. He was liked having a dog around. He even sat in a chair next to me while I was having my dinner and put his paw on my thigh to let me know he was next to me.

I adopted my third boy who was never socialized. He would have his head in a corner of the box all the time. After some love patience and help from meds he came out of his shell after some months. He finally came into the living room and I can't sit down before he's on my lap, and meows very loud for me to get up-at 5 am- to get on my lap. And now he climbs up my chest to be held like a baby, we purr and trill to each other, Eskimo kisses too. So glad I got him,,,maybe somebody had something to do with getting us together❤️
Oh they DO make their feelings obvious! Yesterday, I took one of my cats to the vet. Today morning, it was a nightmare to catch her and give her the medecine (turns out she has arthrosis). Haven't seen her since then...

So sorry about your husband, Reba! My husband has FrontoTemporal Dementia and grew so violent that he had to go live in a facility. His disease is progressing so quickly, there is no hope that he'll see another Christmas. Black cats are the best! They seem to understand how blessed they are to be loved rather than mistreated! THE ONLY VOLET THING WAS OUR POMERANIAN JUMPED ON HIS BED on day I happened to be were I could see. He started kicking the dog.i ran in grabbed a foot in each hand and calmly told him never do that again. And he didn't.. I would act like mom sometimes. Before he had to go to the nursing home he had regress to calling me mama a few times. I took care of him 2'3 ye of regression. To changeing his pull ups. I got to fragile I n I the last of July. They put him in the Home because I was getting to tired. He passed Sep.22. This is January 15 I am still so tired depressed. Beginning to find my self again 😌..
My shecat is my literal shadow! She has to be where I'm at! Wherever! Except @ night, when she's most active. I have to shut the bedroom door for this reason. She is precious to me, after Jesus 🙏❣️.

YOU are the most important thing to them. I have a 10 month old cat, and she is huge. Mother and litter were feral. I got her at 2 months and I have had nothing but love and affection from her. Stimulate your cat. Look at videos with mice, birds and squirrels. Play soothing cat music. Keep them engaged. My last cat was 24. He was so smart and we had such a wonderful relationship. Cats are a joy, love them and they will reward you with years of happiness.

I have always been a cat person. While I like dogs in many ways, one jumped up at me and scared me when I was little. Also, I cannot provide their needs, for constant attention. I love the wildness of cats, and the way they give their love freely.
I fell a while ago and immediately knew I am badly injured. My husband left my phone with me with the app for ambulance, police, car assistance and first respone open on my phone next to me while he went out to get the car. Next moment I heard a responder asking me what was wrong. 2 of my 8 week kittens stayed with me the whole time and one of them (accidentaly? I wonder), pressed the ambulance button. My 8 week old kitty decided there was no time to waste. The abulance arrived within 5 minutes, and while they were preparing me for the trip, the EMS officer jokinly said that they will need to take kitty with because he refused to leave my side. I had to undergo hip replacement surgery, and now that I am home, little Peanut seldom leave me alone and showers me with kisses and affection. He even assist with the physio excercises. LOL. Cats are the best.

I had a Himalayan and a Persian. Loved both of them so much! My Persian was more quiet, but both were so loved!
My two cats are my best friends. I could not have made it through the pandemic without them. They are the sweetest most loving animals.

My husband left my phone with me with the app for ambulance, police, car assistance and first respone open on my phone next to me while he went out to get the car. Next moment I heard a responder asking me what was wrong. 2 of my 8 week kittens stayed with me the whole time and one of them (accidentaly? I wonder), pressed the ambulance button. My 8 week old kitty decided there was no time to waste. The abulance arrived within 5 minutes, and while they were preparing me for the trip, the EMS officer jokinly said that they will need to take kitty with because he refused to leave my side. I had to undergo hip replacement surgery, and now that I am home, little Peanut seldom leave me alone and showers me with kisses and affection. He even assist with the physio excercises. LOL. Cats are the best.
