The sheer number of sculpin! A little fishy buffet! 🤣 Also an interesting use for a steel rule. Necessity being the mother of invention and all that. The crabs fighting over the bait was amusing....made me think of the seagulls in Finding Nemo. MINE, MINE, MINE, MINE!!
I was in Lincoln city this weekend...met the dood that makes the crab daddy's ...went crabbing with him sat-tuesday...used a snare from the beach n got one.. those things are challenging to use haha
Interesting how many crabs were on it and then left. A person may have thought that no crabs were there if they pulled it in between the time of all those crabs coming and going.
Well that is next level! Very cool and innovative, PK. I'm curious about the yellow (sponge?) float. Was it being used to help the whole thing land slowly on the sand? At one point it looked like a keeper was having a snack off the snare! I just caught some crab bait (4 large shad) from the banks on the Willamette (Clackamette Park). First time Shad fishing and it's a blast.
The float was to help it land upright. I figured the drag of the float will keep the top part upward. I've been to the Clackamette Park for shad before. It's a great place.
These videos are really good... it's one thing to know how snares and pots are supposed to work, but it's another thing, to see them in action.
Good footage for people to be able to learn from. Thanks PK.
That’s a cool video. Really makes the emphasis on timing with those snares
1st video I seen with a snare. Awesome setup.
Excellent video PK! The sculpins show up right away. Keep up the good work!
Excellent field instruction!
Great video! Keep em coming

PK needs to figure out a way to view the camera live, from his kayak.
@@hxhdfjifzirstc894 so do we all!
Yeah I think that they don't really understand the word "trap".
Can you watch live so you know when to pull the trap?
I'd have to get a wired cam since Wifi doesn't go through water.
I guess there’s always scuba…
Get some dowsing rods. Not sure how they'd behave sitting on the water though. Be an interesting experiment.
Well that is next level!

WOW!!!!!!!
😮😮😮
The trap's wires are too close together for big crab's claws. Lost interest. Stuff the bait so some sticks out it can grab maybe. Just my opinion.
