Just wanted to say I've been watching all your videos for a few months now. I'm a 30 year old single Mom. My Father just passed away 11 days ago and it's been one of the hardest things I've gone through in my life. My friends and family have been AMAZING. But you and Sarah and those sweet girls of yours help give me strength and a positive attitude on the hard days. You two have such an awesome marriage/bond/friendship/family and it gives me hope that I too will find my somebody who was made just for me and and Son!! You guys and your videos have helped me more then you'll ever know! Y'all are GREAT role models and my Son, Brayden, and myself get so excited whenever we get notified of a new video. We LOVE to fish and be in the out doors and your channel brings us more joy then you will ever know. I just wanted to say thank you and God bless you all!
Love the genuine down to earth vibe you guys have as a couple, even though you are traveling the World to bring us all great content. Also admire how you and your wife respect and cherish each other. Just as the good Lord intended it to be. My favorite thing was when you told your wife " Just because" for the reason you bought her flowers. Why do we need a reason to treat our wives special? They are a gift to us everyday. Thank you for not hiding your faith.

I remember when I also used to take my now wife Dungeness Crab fishing...It's been 10 years now and we live on a small island near the coast, where at times, we can obtain a weak wifi signal from the local Marina....we have been sleeping, eating, and breathing Dungeness Crab. There are periods where we boil them, there are periods where we crack them open and slurp the crustaceans gelatin like innards. This brings us closer to the crabs more and more. I have fashioned armored suits out of boiled Dungeness Crab shells and pieces. After a long day of fishing, I too still get her flowers yet now she only comes to the balcony like cliff of the cavern we call home and grunts..Then slowly disappears into the darkness of the cavern. Eating the flowers...like a Dungeness Crab....I can only look back and grunt as well, meaning I love you too as I continue to go through the days catch. That comment @ 4:02 sure took me back to better times.
I’m from a African American family in Florida, and we gather as family and friends and have huge crab 🦀 boils , some of my fondest memories before COVID hit the US. Hopefully we can again, instead of just doing it as individual families.
Loved the video. I catch Dungeness in Sooke on Victoria Island Canada. Best advise I ever got was from a commercial fisherman who said to stop salting your water and just use a bucket of ocean water. Perfect salt level and made the crab taste even better.👍🏻
Rob, I have harvested Dungy Crab my whole life. Their are 2 major rules when preparing crab to eat. Boil them in the water they live in, and clean them after you cook them as all those things you threw away add massive flavor.

Awesome video.....memories of scooping blue claws on the Jersey shore with my dad back in the day. We'd bring em home....boil them....and eat em on newspaper spread over the kitchen table. It's a beautiful thing catching crabs with your dad and enjoying the good fortune of the catch with family and friends. ...gift of life.
Not saying anything but as someone who grew up in an Asian family I can’t help but feel something when you throw all that juicy crab shell and stomach but you do you DMFD! By the way try some more of that Salt, Pepper, and Lime dip!
It's actually not going to waste! If it was in the trash can, then ya it would be a bad waste, but since he throws all the parts he does not eat back in the ocean it's being eaten by all other other animal in the sea..win, win situation.
our point was teh stuff inside crab shell are very delicious, you can add a little bit of seasonning, then steam or grill it. Fatty and juicy stuff. You can search onn youtube or google how asian eatinng crab. You'll love it.
Not sure which part of Florida you are use to, but I live in and was born and raised in Central Florida and that is all I know is crab boils and fish fry. Literally so much at times that we get tired of it. I first had fried crabs at my aunts house when my mom and I took a greyhound there when I was little in St. Petersburg. But regular old boiled or steamed crabs, that is like eggs for breakfast here for my entire family and many others I know. Your dishes always look so good :-)
This man has the hand of God on him. Truly blessed. When u feel the genuine love he has for creatures and life thru the video , he must be doing something good. Great video!
Can u guys go to Crystal River Fl about 4 hr north of you guys to go scalloping it is amazing it is crystal clear water and about 4-6 ft of water it is sooo fun trust me it will be amazing do a catch clean and cook on them scallops! Like so Rob can see!

Hi sir Robert I'm the one of your followers of your UA-cam channel I really appreciate and admired You because being good and fearing in God .I'm so happy every time I watch you, God bless
I have lived in Florida all my life and we love crab. When I was younger my parents would get fresh live crab all the time and we would put newspaper down and she would cook and dump them on the newspaper and we would go to town on them lol. Good memories but it is true not many people do it in Florida anymore unless your a Floridian but now a days it’s mostly Northerners that live in Florida lol and they don’t know how to do the crab cookouts. Haha
Can't think of many things that I love to eat but Crabs are on the top of my list. It does not seem like summer if I don't eats some crabs. Growing up in Virginia, you could always get your hands on some crabs but now, it let's harder & harder to find crabs. I love them steamed or fried. These are beautiful. They look like they taste like a little bit of heaven. Crabs with corn on the cob, wrapped in bacon. Oh man, life would be good. Thank you for sharing.
Good old pacific northwest crabs! Lived here my whole life and it never gets old. I recently started painting hunting decoys for a well known company and can't wait to put some of them to use!

Hey Ropaté great video man. I wanted to thank you for everything you do on UA-cam. It's because of the knowledge you have given me throughout all your videos that I was equipped to fully process mine and my cousins striped bass. We went fishing in the cape cod bay near Dennis Port, we all limited out all of us caught a striper over 30 inches. We got to bring home 8 fish total because the Capt and mate gave us their fish as well. I was unhappy with the way they processed the fish. Kinda wastefull around the rib cage of the fish. I asked to bring one home to practice filleting one and I thought I did a better job than the first mate did lol. Your videos inspired me to take my cousins and brother out on a ocean fishing trip. Thank you for being you and for all you do for us and your family :)
I always LOVE the crab and lobster catch clean and cooks !! Always my favs I even go back and watch old ones lol god bless you deer meat for dinner!!!!!
i got a tip for you instead of garlic butter try to do a portuguese "green sauce" that is - olive oil, onions, vinager and parsley - give it a try and let me know
When you started throwing crab shells in the water I was like what the heck are you doing? You just throw the gold away. Here in Philippines, the meat you'll find in the crab shell called Aligi and it's so delicious and expensive
It's sometimes referred to as crab butter. The stuff is amazing but if you eat too much of it, you can get shellfish poisoning. There is a higher level of domoic acid in the internal organs.
It gives me anxiety not being able to see the rest of the rope when they are dropping the traps Even though the traps they are dropping not so heavy, last thing you want is for that rope to get tangled on your feet. I love me some steamed Dungeness crabs with garlic, melted butter and lemon juice to dunk them in 🤤 You guys are awesome, I live vicariously through your videos. You guys got some nice size crabs there! Can do deep fried lobster sometime soon? I’ve learned it from a Chinese restaurant to do deep fried lobster and I fell in love with it. After you cut the lobster into nugget size pieces(cut the tail in half first from tail to head, not the other way cause it will be easier to cut them further this way), then chop those half’s again 3 more times , now you got 6 pieces of nuggets with the shell still on, toss them in fine corn meal, or corn flour(flour of your choice really) with some of your favorite seasoning added into that flour mix(I guess it would be Everglades) just lightly dust it not so heavy on the coating, a lot doesn’t stick on it anyways since we are not using any eggs or anything so, in the mean time get your oil really hot (without burning it) in a Turkey fryer outdoors (peanut or canola oil works good) You want it outdoors because of the water content inside your lobster could overflow your oil, and to have that setup inside is the last thing you want, also, leave a good amount of space in the fryer so this won’t happen. Since your oil is really hot, your lobster nuggets will be crispy on the outside and really juicy on the inside. Pick them up with a metal strainer spoon after in 3-4 minutes or once they turn that nice red color. Dunk them in lemon, garlic, melted butter and enjoy, I chop about 10-12 lobsters this way Christmas time, and I can eat 4-5 of those lobsters myself, since they are so easy to eat that way and they taste amazing. Bon appetite!
Enjoyed watching this video, but the hunger is overtaking my senses...! I grew up in South Louisiana with abundant seafood, and now I live in Birmingham, AL... It's hard to get good, fresh seafood here... I'll be moving to the lake soon, and fresh fish will frequent my menu once again! Keep on fishing! ;)

that was awesome. a great meal too. love home cooked meals, it has helped me to fight cancer. the home effect is a pretty good stimulus for fighting for your life.
Hi, I'm not a subscriber (yet...ahaha) and I'm here because I just wanna watch how people catch crab. But after watched your video I mesmerized how appreciative and respect you've toward nature, your fisherman friends and dinner guest and absolutely much love for your family. Rather than count your blessing, you share it instead and make it even bigger. Keep spread positiveness even in hardest time. Subscribing.
I have to say man you are probably one of the nicest most sincere UA-camrs and even people I've seen in a very long time. With a platform full of negativity and sell-outs it's refreshing to see a genuine UA-camr. Keep doing what you're doing man.
Great video, but Im from Florida and I dont know what part you been to. But we do crab boils all the time and also crawafish boils... Anyways great job on the video and keep up the good work bud!
You are truly blessed. What more would you want nothing. You have beautiful women friends and both parents. I teared up because I just lost my mom in a vehicle accident 04/18/2020 and we buried her on 04/25/2020 the day of her birthday. 63
I honestly can't believe you throw away the top shell of a crab!! All that head juice makes for a great item to dip toasted French or sourdough bread into. Y'all should try it sometime. ❤❤
I've watched about 15 or 20 of your videos I I like all of them they're very interesting especially the sand fleas but this video let me down because I appreciate the fact that you guys give God the glory in a blessing before your meal and I didn't see it this time I understand a lot of things get cut out in the editing process the giving thanks to God should never happen

I normally wouldn't watch a video from somebody on the east coast about catching and cooking Dungeness crabs. But I have to say....you did EVERYTHING right! I live 50 miles from the coast in Oregon. I asked to bring one home to practice filleting one and I thought I did a better job than the first mate did lol. Your videos inspired me to take my cousins and brother out on a ocean fishing trip. Thank you for being you and for all you do for us and your family :)
Ah man that’s so cool!!!!!
😄😄😄😄
I live in Michigan and I love watching your videos

So much positivity in these comments!!! Y’all rock!!!
Fallon Paul hi 👋 please subscribe to my UA-cam channel please 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
i got a tip for you instead of garlic butter try to do a portuguese "green sauce" that is - olive oil, onions, vinager and parsley - give it a try and let me know
I’ve been learning English all my life and I would never have thought that the word “indigenous” could be pronounced the same way as rob did!
Wow looks good & super fun definitely want to do this some day
👌👌👌👍👍👍
@@ChompooSangchan 😋

Thank you!
you right i try to do like him too let check it out
😄😄😄😄
Such an awesome video!!! Headed up to Santa Cruz to catch some this week and this got me 10 times more excited to do so!!!
When you started throwing crab shells in the water I was like what the heck are you doing? You just throw the gold away. Here in Philippines, the meat you'll find in the crab shell called Aligi and it's so delicious and expensive
That's good stuff, I boil the crab whole it has a better taste over all. 👍🏼✌️😷 stay safe.
Same reaction haha
I can already feel the dizziness you get from aligi lol
Well this was not shot in the Philippines so you may be out of luck.
It's sometimes referred to as crab butter. The stuff is amazing but if you eat too much of it, you can get shellfish poisoning. There is a higher level of domoic acid in the internal organs.
That house is INSANE! Great vid y'all
Congratulation men, It's great to see that you can catch, clean and cook, not only for sport or for a selfie, just to enjoy the fruit of a hard work.
It gives me anxiety not being able to see the rest of the rope when they are dropping the traps
Even though the traps they are dropping not so heavy, last thing you want is for that rope to get tangled on your feet.
I love me some steamed Dungeness crabs with garlic, melted butter and lemon juice to dunk them in 🤤
You guys are awesome, I live vicariously through your videos. You guys got some nice size crabs there!
Can do deep fried lobster sometime soon? I’ve learned it from a Chinese restaurant to do deep fried lobster and I fell in love with it.
After you cut the lobster into nugget size pieces(cut the tail in half first from tail to head, not the other way cause it will be easier to cut them further this way), then chop those half’s again 3 more times , now you got 6 pieces of nuggets with the shell still on, toss them in fine corn meal, or corn flour(flour of your choice really) with some of your favorite seasoning added into that flour mix(I guess it would be Everglades) just lightly dust it not so heavy on the coating, a lot doesn’t stick on it anyways since we are not using any eggs or anything so, in the mean time get your oil really hot (without burning it) in a Turkey fryer outdoors (peanut or canola oil works good)
You want it outdoors because of the water content inside your lobster could overflow your oil, and to have that setup inside is the last thing you want, also, leave a good amount of space in the fryer so this won’t happen.
Since your oil is really hot, your lobster nuggets will be crispy on the outside and really juicy on the inside.
Pick them up with a metal strainer spoon after in 3-4 minutes or once they turn that nice red color.
Dunk them in lemon, garlic, melted butter and enjoy,
I chop about 10-12 lobsters this way Christmas time, and I can eat 4-5 of those lobsters myself, since they are so easy to eat that way and they taste amazing.
Keep on fishing! ;)
R L ,...best wishes

Was waiting for a new upload!!
I've been diving with DALLMYD, Jiggin' with Jordan and Yappy Tram Tram the past 2 days so I was a little behind on editing. those dudes are awesome!!!
deermeatfordinner - You’re forgiven! Always worth the wait! Sounds like a a blast!
Fisherman's Life is also a Very Good Channel 👍. The BEST in the West Coast 👏 👍 👌.
Wow this guys set up is sick house and outside dinning area next too the water dock man must be lucky rite on for the video 🗿🌋😤🤙💯

New subscriber hear, absolutely love watching, listening and learning!
I’m looking for my place at the table next time. 👍🏻
Father Gawd.....no Old Bay..no Louisiana Crab Boil...just a slice of lemon, two bay leaves and some Great Value (I think) salt??????🤔😢 BLASPHEMY😂
I am from Louisiana. Anyone who uses more than salt for these crabs are crazy.
You don't need that crap for Dungeness. Just salt the water.
You are truly blessed. What more would you want nothing. You have beautiful women friends and both parents. I teared up because I just lost my mom in a vehicle accident 04/18/2020 and we buried her on 04/25/2020 the day of her birthday. 63
Wow! They don't just enter the trap, they break into it.
It’s incredible!!!!!
😄😄😄😄
I wish i had someone to take me crab fishing. I would love it. I live in Monterey Ca so i know we got some pretty good crabs and fish
Wow, last name's Shell! Cool!
I honestly can't believe you throw away the top shell of a crab!! All that head juice makes for a great item to dip toasted French or sourdough bread into. Y'all should try it sometime. ❤❤
I don't know what you was told when we love dungeon he's on the East Coast word
I've watched about 15 or 20 of your videos I I like all of them they're very interesting especially the sand fleas but this video let me down because I appreciate the fact that you guys give God the glory in a blessing before your meal and I didn't see it this time
I understand a lot of things get cut out in the editing process the giving thanks to God should never happen
I have never ate crab or lobster until I went to Seattle and had a fresh Dungeness. Delicious 😂😂
